Who doesn't love Mexican food? On a cold day it was inviting to enjoy a hot Fish Burrito. It's a large burrito. I ate only half. My first time ordering this dish. The hot sauce was 👍 great. Got the Habanero and mixed it with the mild. Then later just used the Habanero. I like spicy!!! And it Rocked!!!

You can never go wrong with Burros and Fries. I always order the Surf and Turf burrito. But I've had their rolled tacos and tacos which are equally delicious. A bit pricier but worth it to me. This location the staff was great, the place was clean, and you can dine in if you wish.

I was doing laundry nearby and wanted to grab a bite, when I spotted this spot across the street I decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. I’m always hesitant to try new burrito places but this massive beast was tasty. I got a California burrito the the meat was great as well. Will definitely stop by every time I do laundry in the area.

I have been going to the Burros and fries on Telegraph for a while now, and I am excited that they finally put one in National City! The veggie fries are delicious, and they put Cotija cheese on it. I like that they have a small order for the fries, I could never finish the large order. I will definitely be going back.

Good campechana fries, portion size is great, I like their breakfast egg and chorizo burrito.

My favorite bean and cheese burrito in San Diego. Great food and great service. Definitely a stop for any out of town friend.

Finally a good place that offers yummy salsas and just for that I will return. The chicken rolled tacos were tasty. They have a large menu- a lot to choose from and everything sounds good. Will recommend to anyone looking to try something new!

California Burrito Ranking: Stop #19 On the hunt to find San Diego’s best California burrito! Today’s tasting took me to Burros & Fries in National City. This is the 19th spot on my burrito journey. The Burrito: They whipped it up fast and served it piping hot. This thing was massive and loaded — lots of beef and a good mix of fillings. They also offer a chicken version, but I went classic with beef. The tortilla, sauce, fries, tomatoes, and cheese were all solid on their own, but somehow the flavors didn’t quite come together as a team. If the meat had been a bit warmer or freshly grilled, I think it would’ve hit better. Bonus points for the sauces. They looked super watery, but wow — bold and flavorful. Price was $13, which is about average around town, maybe slightly on the high side. Burrito rating: 7 out of 10 Service: Polite and attentive, though nothing over the top. 4 out of 10 Atmosphere: They’re clearly making an effort to keep the dining area clean, but my table had glass ring marks and wobbled every time I moved. Old movies played on the TV, music in the background, but overall the vibe felt pretty basic. Shoutout to the random kid with fries on the wall though — made me smile. 3 out of 10

This soup -- pozolé verde -- is so good, this is my new favorite. One order $16 (incl tax) is good for 2 people. The place is calmer than its neighbor Chowking.

It's like a regular taco shop. I had their carne asada burrito. Tasted good nothing out of this word. The place was clean & not a lot of people. It's a small little spot next to a few shops. Parking is kinda awkward there. No drive thru.

March 29,2024: We had another terrible experience at this location. We bought our usual Surf and Turf Burrito but when we got home, we had received the wrong burrito. It was actually a really nasty burrito: it had refried beans and strips of nopales/cactus. It reminded me of the gross Bean and Cheese burritos Taco Bell had in the late 90's. I wish I knew what burrito it was so I could advise you to never think about ordering it. We were short on time to make the Padres game so we didn't have time to drive the 15 minutes back to the business location to get the correct burrito. I called the business and left my name and number to see if the business will make the mistake right. I'm still waiting for a call from the manager the following day. Update: It's been a week with no follow up from management. I'm surprised this business didn't care about poor service, and a customer request for follow up to make good on a service error. I won't be back here any more. The Surf and Turf burritos are better at Lucha Libre anyway. May 6, 2022: We had a subpar experience today. We usually come here afternoons but came in early today (9:45AM) and waited nearly 20 minutes for our burrito from ordering to table. It seemed like the cook was busy preparing many to go orders but we'll never come back here again in the morning. OLDER REVIEW: I always get the surf and turf burrito. Delicious. I'm not a huge fan of spicy food but I love the green salsa they have. I NEED it with my burrito. Service is usually quick here but I like to call ahead when I make a to go order. Parking is easy and always available.

I always considered Burros and fries the cleanest taco shop there is here since they opened in national city. But i have to say the food and service just doesn’t taste the same this year. Also your afternoon cashiers are young and should be taught how to greet customers. When you first opened up shop years ago you had some tall bald guy who worked in the afternoons cashiering and let me just say he made the atmosphere cool and welcoming! I actually thought he was the owner because of how etiquette he was at delivering customer service 👏🏼

I always considered Burros and fries the cleanest taco shop there is here since they opened in national city. But i have to say the food and service just doesn’t taste the same this year. The food and service is better at the Imperial Ave location , attentive delicious, and professional. The burritos don’t taste and look the same as before. I paid for a couple Cali burritos I got them skimpy ,lopsided in the bag , and worst thing is they had no meat they barely had any meat in it! Tenían muchísima crema and they were soggy! Also your afternoon cashiers are young and should be taught how to greet customers. When you first opened up shop years ago you had some tall bald guy who worked in the afternoons cashiering and let me just say he made the atmosphere cool and welcoming! I actually thought he was the owner because of how etiquette he was at delivering customer service 👏🏼

3 birria tacos for $16 and they didn’t even come with cheese or a drink. the box that they came in not even sturdy. don’t spend your money here.
