If u want a quick bite for Japenese food, it's so much faster here at Plaza Bonita!! I ordered the Japanese Bento. There is so much food in it, and comes with 4 small slices of sushi and Gyoza, too! The vegetables were fresh! It was delicious and clean tasting! Hubby got the rock and roll and soda and my hunk of a hubby was truly full! What I liked is that i didnt have to wait long. The cooks were fast and efficient! I will be coming back for more more often!

I had teriyaki beef meal added shrimp to it right on top. Expertly prepared by Japanese Chefs. I have been to Japan and All over Asia. This is VERY VERY GOOD.

First time eating here and it was great! The bento bowl is the best and everything in it tastes great. The employees were friendly too which is always a plus.

I'm from the east coast, where this chain is most popular. And I'm so glad there is at least one location in San Diego. It is the best chicken teriyaki plates I've ever had for less than $10. I go out of my way, about 28 miles, just to eat here, at this spot, in a mall food court. Willingly.

Amazing quick Japanese meal! I stopped by Sarku Japan at Plaza Bonita and was really impressed! The teriyaki meals are full of flavor and cooked fresh right in front of you and the sauce is tasty, the chicken was tender, and the veggies were crisp. The portions were generous, and it was a great value for what you get. I also tried some of their sushi rolls, and they were surprisingly good too. Service was fast and friendly even during a busy food-court lunch, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely my go-to spot when I want a quick, delicious Japanese meal while shopping! 🍱👍

I've always loved Sarku's food. Their signature chicken teriyaki with rice and mixed veggies is phenomenal, and you can add extra chicken and extra veggies. Only reason I list atmosphere as a 4 * is due to the mall, not Sarku's fault. They are quick to fulfill orders and also have sushi options.

tastes amazing! prices have gone up, but that's the same everywhere. easy access in the foodcourt, just make sure to ask for extra teriyaki sauce!

A friend of mine told me about this place, which is one of her favorites so I decided to try it and see if it's as great as she says and I have to mention is good. I love asian food and I think this one is good but not as great. Prices are super reasonable, and portions are big. Service is good and quick, highly recommended.

Good Food is really good Bad Service is like they were upset all time. Also couldn't believe they couldnt sell me the teriyaki sauce separately.

I used to go to Sarku a lot when they were located in North County Fair. Food was good. In the jar few years they have closed all but one in Plaza Bonita. Food doesn't taste the same as before. Too bad!

Silly me for thinking my to-go order of teriyaki chicken would include teriyaki sauce! When I was picking up our to-go order, a chef was blowing his nose near all the food. It was gross. Now I'm concerned about the cleanliness of this place.

Straight to the point ☝️. Cooks do not wear bear and hair nets. When I asked the cashier, he gave me an awkward eye saying " no, they don't, first time someone asks me that " so I don't understand why the health department allows this. I will no longer consume Sarky Japan.

I’ve been here many times and always ordered the same thing the number one with extra chicken sometimes and sometimes without extra chicken today I ordered it with extra chicken and it had less chicken than when I ordered it without extra chicken the portion was minuscule and the weight of the plate overall was very late. I felt like I got a terrible deal.

I ordered your Teppanyaki number 5 and also the chicken teriyaki. The food was fine. I also ordered the Rock and Roll Sushi and the salmon roll. I watched a sushi chef put his gloved hands in a red bucket of water and get a rag, wring out the rag, clean his workstation, put the rag back, and then stuck his hands into the rice to start making the sushi without changing his gloves. That is high contamination. I then canceled my order in which I received a refund for the sushi. But then he started cooking on the grill and still did not change his gloves. That is a lot of cross-contamination going on.

Wow one of the blandest tasteless chicken teriyaki I have tasted also very dry with no skin. Not sure why some of these reviews are giving this chicken a high praise. Sadly even Panda Express has more taste than this. Will never go back.

On Friday, January 30, 2026, I ordered two chicken teriyaki meals and one beef teriyaki, all to go. I had never experienced any problems before that day. However, shortly after eating the food, my husband, my son, and I all became very sick. We had stomach pains and had to use the bathroom several times. The stomach upset lasted until Monday. My husband’s condition was worse; he ate the beef teriyaki. I’m not sure what happened that day, but unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning
