Such a sweet spot! My family came by for brunch and it was DELICIOUS! The breakfast sandwich with spam was good on its own, but the sauces it came with brought it up to a solid 10/10. The mango bread with lilikoi butter was perfeccctttt. Our drinks were so refreshing, too. I had the piña colada latte and it was bomb ♡ Our server was very attentive and my family loved stopping by. Can't wait to revisit next time we're in town!
Tasty food from different tropic themed places such as Hawaii, Japan, Philippines. It was packed when we went there, and I think they were understaffed, but it took a while for us to get service (but our server was very kind and friendly and helpful). We got each of the three $7 happy hour items and they were all very good, especially the burgers. They were out of pulled pork. I got "mango sticky rice" and it had normal white rice and less than one bite worth of mango (the plate looked very pretty though) so I was a bit disappointed by that, but the rest of the food was great. Nice place and nice people.
I recently celebrated my birthday at Lime in the Coconut X Speakeasy, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was lovely, with its unique decor and cozy lounge area. The staff went above and beyond. It was perfect, making me feel incredibly special on my big day. The cocktails were absolutely divine, especially their scorpion bowl with an awesome fire show to it. We also ordered different drinks like the Tangerine Dream, Saturn and etc. But there's one drink taht is really pretty in a 🐚 called the King Kamehameh. The food was really good. We ordered the Boa Buns amd the fish tacos. For dessert we got the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream on top. It's sooo warm and goodness 😍. Overall, Lime in the Coconut Speakeasy made my birthday unforgettable. I highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a fantastic night out. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable!
Great food…but expect a different twist on things. Not your normal flavors but in a good way! Flavors like wasabi in potato salad just sound like crazy mixes but definitely tasted amazing. Strong drinks too! Will definitely go back to keep exploring the menu.
Cutesy, great atmosphere and service , Delicious food. I think that is all that matters, no other words are needed.
First time coming here. I didn't know that it was a speak-easy! Cool! Enjoyed the ambiance in the room. Our bartender was badazz! Tried her recommended mix cocktails. Loved it! Food was terrific. We tried the PuPu platter! A mix of a few bite sized things. Just enough to make you keep on drinking. Mos def will be returning!
So excited this place finally opened up, and boy did it become one of our favorites right away. We tried it for the first time and went with the Poke Nachos and the pork belly Banh Mi sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing. The fish was so fresh. The drinks we ordered we’re perfectly balance with alcohol. Don’t recommend the Scorpio if you are a lightweight. They did a great job with the decor of the place. Staff was ultimately friendly and inviting. Can’t wait to go back and try out other menu items.
The atmosphere was chill and the servers were very attentive. The food was delicious. I'd definitely come back. Garlic rice ans ahi poke was so good I didn't leave anything behind. Fiancé had the fish and chips and he said it was very flaky, in a good way. The Bao flight was super delicious. We had the pork and chicken. Drinks were yum.
Our waitstaff person, Cassie, was amazing. She was personable had good recommendations and very attentive. I had the Tangerine Dream to drink and it was very tasty. My friend had a Mai Thai, which also looked very good. We ordered the Poo Poo Platter, Poke Nachos, and two things of the Coconut shrimp. I highly recommend the Coconut shrimp. The spicy vinegar sauce was amazing! It was really cool entering through the alley door into the speakeasy, which was decorated tiki hut style. I loved the pufferfish lights hanging from the ceiling and the vibe of the place. Kevin, the owner even came over and chatted with us. This was a great experience and I will definitely be back!
We just went and had a great dinner and experience. staff is friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. We ordered the bao flight with the kahlua pork and pork belly and they did not disappoint. we shared the appetizer and loved their poke nachos, yum. I have to order that by itself next time. The salt pepper wing had fried jalapeños on them, so it gave them an unexpected kick. musubi balls and coconut shrimp were fried perfect. we ordered Yokosoba noodles and beef katsu moco loco to share (i prefer spam and beef patty myself). the garlic rice was soooo good! order it with spam, it won't disappoint! drinks were very fruity and refreshing. the atmosphere was a relaxed island vibe. gotta check out their speakers soon! pricing is good, many plates under $20.
Had a fabulous time last Saturday on a date night with my wife. Reservations to the secret Tiki Bar in the back is the way to go. (Make sure you get the password.) Ambiance is fantastic, the drinks are on-point, the food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. For drinks, I had the Tangerine Dream and the Kingman Reef. The Kingman ended being a little bit of a girly drink, but I like guava and it was delicious. Tangerine Dream is dangerous because you can drink it really fast. My wife tried the Zombie, and it's a strong drink but I didn't like the overpowering taste of Absinthe. For food, I recommend the Shoyu Ahi Poke and the Bao Flight. Both were really incredible. Other patrons were also super nice, and they told us about the San Diego Padres Goose mural nearby. There's a convenient parking lot in the back of the restaurant, and coincidentally the secret door is in the back. We enjoyed this spot so much that we're going back this weekend with other friends.

Got to experience the speakeasy tonight and it was great! Riley was super chill and the drinks were on point. We had the pork belly bao buns and will definitely be coming back. Make sure you get a reservation on Fridays or Saturdays!

Rarely do i give this kind of review, but this place hit EVERY single feeling I have, that is good! Bartender is on point! Food is ridiculous, atmosphere is perfect and music is OMFG! Yes, all day long!!! Cutest little town! I'm selling everything up north and moving here!!!
Such a gem! We checked out their speakeasy “X,” located behind the main restaurant. Our bartender Lily was incredible. She was very knowledgeable about the cocktail/food menu, accommodating to all our needs & extremely attentive & charasmatic. She was able to help our indecisive friends pick out a drink that would be to their liking with poise. She treated us like family. Even was able to whip up a “bartenders choice” for my friend who isn’t the biggest rum fan. Rum tiki drinks are their specialty, but there are other options upon request. Lily’s assistant Natalie was very personable too. Great teamwork! Atmosphere, music and decor were on point. Food delicious. Prices extremely fair. People who came in around us were all having a great time given the amazing service and warmth vibe. We made friends with the other patrons in such a relaxing environment. They also have AC which is wonderful in this heat. If you want an island escape where staff (especially Lily n Natalie) make you feel like family? Check out X pronto. We will definitely be back for more and hope Lily and Natalie are our servers.
We were planning on coming in for a drink but our waitress Nancy convinced us to stay for food and boy are we glad we did. The garlic noodles were very good but the poke tuna nachos were to die for! If tou love poke like I do, get them. Amazing!

Stopped by for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday. This was one of the hottest days of the year. We thought to come here due to the large open windows, assuming it would be a great place to have a celebratory meal with a nice breeze..... boy... we were wrong! I mean, the food is great, delicious, creative and fun; the staff was so nice and attentive but.... wow, was it hot in there, like hotter than outdoors. The poor staff were all sweaty. Even though their huge window was open, there was no air flow at all. Turn on the AC or get some high powered fans, especially in 90+ degree weather! All staff was sweating. What if they sweat all over my food? When we mentioned it to the wait staff we were informed repeatedly that the owner refuses to add fans. We ate as fast as we could so we could get out of there! We practically ruined the menus because we all used them to fan ourselves. We totally would have stayed longer but it was unbearably HOT! We left and went to a bar across the street that has high powered fans in front of their huge windows. I would not recommend coming here on a hot day unless they decide to turn on the AC or add fans.... or if you want have a drink in a sauna. I would return during cold weather because I did like the drinks and the food was really good... but I am not willing to risk a heat stroke for it. For this reason I am giving this place a single star under atmosphere.
So I visited on 12/28/25 at 10am. I walked by and saw they're open with a very limited menu. The menu is way too small, doesn't have descriptions of the items or allergy information. I wasn't able to get coke because their machine is broken. Why are potatoes not on your breakfast menu? Also did you know your Google listing says your closed at this time? You're not doing yourself any favors with this botched rollout. Completely empty restaurant the entire time we were there.

I’m very familiar with Islander food and I’ve had my fair share, so I’ll try not to be too biased writing this review. Let’s start with the perks. It’s nice to see another business open in downtown Chula Vista. We really need more diverse places to eat in our South Bay community. I really like the concept of Lime in the Coconut and the decor was welcoming, inviting, and nicely decorated. We sat in a booth and felt far enough away from other guests (which I prefer these days with COVID and such). Frances our server was friendly and attentive. The cocktail drinks were fabulous and stole the show. Now for the food. Overall, it was ok. I think too much thought went into the fried musubi balls (the spam was minced and mixed in with the rice). I would’ve preferred chunks of spam. Unfortunately, they didn’t hold a light to Homestyle Hawaiian’s fried musubis (ouch, sorry). The smoked chicken was good. However, the garlic fried rice was so overdone that the rice grains were hard and difficult to chew. The wasabi in the potato salad was difficult to distinguish. The poke to wonton ratio was off on the nachos; the poke itself was good. The question I always ask myself is, would I return to this establishment? Although I’m glad we tried it I probably will not return. However, I would say it’s worthy to try at least once.
The Speakeasy is in the back by the parking lot and you should have a reservation/know the password to get in. The service is very slow and the staff forgot a drink and the water for our group of 6. Food is pretty good, nothing amazing, and it has classic tiki bar decorations. A cute Speakeasy for Chula Vista but there are better ones downtown.

Such a cute place! We visited for a birthday dinner during the week. It was not that busy when we first went in, but it started getting busier as a time went on. We were shocked to see that there was only one server. She was the bartender as well Which is another shocker. We understand it wasn’t her fault but she Had a slight attitude. I’m pretty sure the fact that she was the only one there as a server and a bartender was the culprit. The food was great. The only issue was that we were missing a wing. We were told that would be five, but there was only four wings, and we ordered hurricane fries, which came completely cold. Definitely will be back tho. The food was great other than a few mishaps and the vibe was just overall fun and cute.
Hey everyone usually this place is cool and has happy hour 4-6 and 5-6 in the speakeasy. We had reservations at 5 for the “X” we walked in at 457 and were told it’s closed and to wait inside the main restaurant. We waited and walked back in at 505 and were seated and given menus that which stated happy hour in the “x” to which we tried to order and were told oh we don’t have happy hour in the speakeasy even though it was on the menu saying they had food happy hour 5-6 daily in the X. The server said oh no we don’t have the specials here you can go up front if you want. We left because we couldn’t order the food happy hour. We went up front to the bar and we sat down and took a while but only 1 server and bar tender for the entire place so understandable it took some time. The mai tai drinks were terrible and tasted like they had bad orange juice inside the mai tai. It was a yellow color and not the typical dark color with a little yellow. The food came out and was on the colder side we ordered the trio with wings / fries / sliders. The last time we came to the “x” the bartender / server let us order the happy hour off the menu that said 5pm-6pm inside the x. So this time we expected the same thing. Overall honestly just very disappointed from start to finish. It’s a local spot on 3rd ave in Chula but the experience was terrible this time, won’t be going back for a while.
