Fantastic old school diner style restaurant. Echo what others have said about the fantastic, friendly service and good eats for cheap. I stopped here for a quick bite to eat while waiting for my mom's appointment at the nearby hospital to finish. They had a daily "empire special" that was too good to pass up and I chose the Soup (Chicken Noodle) and Small Salad (homemade blue cheese dressing) which combined with a cup of coffee was perfect. The soup was absolutely delicious with large noodles and hearty flavor. The small salad (you can choose to have a large salad and small soup if that's your thing) was good and the dressing was excellent. The coffee was good, hot, and plentiful. I saw the food that the other diner's were having and can't wait to go back and try some other options. Gives me a reason to drive way out to Elk Grove from Land Park, but it's worth it. My waitress was extremely friendly and service was quick. Can't ask for much else! Highly Recommended!

We love Mr. Perry's Coffe Shop. We had dinner there last night & breakfast today. They have new owners & are updating some stuff. New floors, paint, and TVs. Looks good. We just want them to leave the booths. It's the perfect dinner. You walk in and feel comfortable.

This is the place to go and enjoy a meal. I ordered the T-bone steak a medium rare, and it was perfectly seasoned and cook just the way I like my steaks done. The waitress was awesome to. The waitress brought over a bottle of A-1 sauce, but I didn’t use any because there was enough TLC in cooking my steak. Perry’s coffee shop gives you both soup and salad. Where as other places gives you an option of either or plus an extra charge. The soup was awesome and very tasty.

Decided to go to a mom and pop place for lunch with the husband. Stopped by and I had the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and hash browns and he had the chicken and waffles with a side of linguica. CAREFUL! The chicken and waffles comes with 4 whole pieces- a breast, wing, leg and thigh. We didn’t expect that much chicken!! Absolutely delicious and Tina the waitress was extremely friendly and attentive! Will definitely drop by again if we’re in the area.

They are not shy in portion size. We love authentic, chip in your plates, torn booth breakfast spots. Here will be another favorite to add to our list. Service from Patty was perfect. She didn’t question my modest moderation to my order. A huge menu, something for everyone, including the picky eaters like myself. Didn’t even have to wait for a seat, we were immediately greeted and seated upon arrival. They take cashless and Apple Pay.

This is one of our favorite restaurants to go to here in South Sacramento. It's a classic Mom and Pop place with old time atmosphere. You see A LOT of regulars there. The food and service are outstanding!!! Go on an empty stomach because the portions are HUGE! My favorite breakfast is the Eggs Benedict which never disappoints. Every time we go on my birthday, I get a discount and free dessert. This is the type of restaurant we love to support, because it's local and has been there forever. I forgot to mention that it's clean and cozy. If you're looking for somewhere to eat that had great old fashioned atmosphere, the Mr. Perry's is the place!!!

Pretty slow when we walked in. Where we were at it was pretty warm and we had to ask if they could turn the air on. Food was good, diner food for sure. Flys were annoying but it's summer so I get it. We ordered chicken and waffles, a club with curly fries and split pea soup! The soup hit the spot and the waffles were good. Chicken was decent as well just needed a little more flavor.

French/Beef dip was delicious exactly what a beef dip is meant to be. Had load of menu options you'll find something for everyone. Edit: we came back for a second time the next day and service was AWFUL. It wasn't good to begin with but second time around somehow was worse. Waited 10 minutes to get on a 20 minute wait list when NO ONE was even waiting. With 8 open tables visible. We ended up leaving.

Very nice side salad & bowl of soup. Just the right amount of topping for the older (not fluffy) potato. Ordered the Prime rib special. They didn't have med. Rare cut, so I opted for the end cut. We’ve been coming here for years and today was just horrible. Our waitress, who we’ve had before, a Hispanic woman with blonde hilights, was horrendous. Everyone who was sat in her section today had to get up out of their booths and ask for something. She DID NOT come to our table at all!! An older couple had to wait so long for coffee and the older gentleman finally stood up and went to find her. Another woman had to go hunt for ketchup. Unacceptable. The food deserves its own separate review. Gross. Oily, bloody and tasteless. We told the waitress about it and she brushed us off. We asked to speak to the manager and she came and was asking us what we expected her to do! Lady you are the owner, your restaurant is going to shit. You need better employees and a better cook. Roberto is not it. The owner told us Roberto cooked our food. Why are you telling me that as if I know him? She did comp 50% of our meal and the horrible waitress we had was so surprised . I have never been so disappointed with service in my life. We will never be going back there - the waitress solidified that. They have no carbonation - so don’t order any sodas. They have dirty cutlery - so ask for plastic. The booths are tiny - so ask for a regular table. The salad is old and wilted - order at your own risk. Waitress is rude and passive - only God can change her. The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is the hostess with the short hair.. God bless her! She was so understanding and tried to help us. - reply to owner - While you claim to prioritize customer satisfaction, your response to my review suggests otherwise. My experience clearly demonstrates a failure to meet those standards. I hope you'll take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements. Instead of disputing my experience, perhaps focus on improving your food quality, your customer service, and the cleanliness of your restaurant. This was once a wonderful diner with a working soda machine.
