Nuno's Restaurant & Lounge

So pleased with the atmosphere, clean bathroom BUT let me tell you about the food…WOW we had chicken wings to start crispy on the outside juicy inside. The baked stuffed shrimp dish and pasta with little necks, shrimp and chorizo in a Spanish sauce phenomenal! We were greeted and checked on as soon as we walked in and our waitress was so attentive we’ll definitely be back!

Nuno’s has been at this location for 4 years but only recently discovered it via a coworker. Access off the highway is easy although parking can be a challenge. The restaurants ambience is cozy and inviting due to low lighting, warm colors and friendly staff. Nuno, the owner, was a former bartender at Traneira restaurant in Westport, MA and owned the Porta’s de Cidade also in Westport. The menu has your traditional Portuguese fair while adding some dishes with a traditional twist. We had the little neck clams in both the wine and garlic and Spanish style with a tomato broth. Both were great when coupled with a Portuguese bread roll for dipping. We ordered the traditional Portuguese steak plate house style with rice, fries and fried eggs. Now keep in mind some typical Portuguese restaurants serve a flattened, tenderized steak but Nuno’s serves a thicker sirloin steak. I have to praise the cooks for being able to correctly get the steaks to a medium rare. Many portuguese restaurants seem to only cook well done no matter what you ask for so they did a great job. We finished our dishes off with some Lancers Portuguese wine. It’s the classic budget wine with a great taste and decent buzz. Overall the restaurant, people, atmosphere was a great addition to my list of go to Portuguese restaurants. We will definitely be back.

Delicious Portuguese food with an extensive menu. There is something for everyone! Excellent dinner and drink specials. Anna Vieira was a fun and engaged server ☺️Nuno came to every table to check on his customers. Definitely will come back.

Another amazing dinner and experience! Nuno and his team work tirelessly to ensure the food and service is top notch! When your dining @ Nuno’s, he makes you feel like your a guest at his home! I highly recommend Nuno’s if you have never been! You will be highly satisfied!

Went in with 5 people on a Saturday night.The owner said an hour and a half wait and my sister in law was up from Florida so he said I’ll try to get you a high top table and squeeze a chair in.we waited and he kept checking on us and telling us he’s working on it and never ignored us for a second and then comes to get us an hour earlier than we expected and got us a booth that fit all of us perfectly.This owner went way above and beyond to hook us up knowing my sister in law wanted to eat there and was headed home the next day,Now the food was incredible and I’m talking everything we ordered,The service was incredible and can’t say enough and I eat out quite a bit and this place never ever lets me down,

food is delicious and very well presented. nuno and his wife work very hard to ensure that everyone had a great dining experience. Ana, our server, is 5 stars. Totally worth a trip!

A real great experience. The food was excellent and was very reasonable. The waitress was very charming and down to earth. A definite nice place to go out and enjoy a great atmosphere.

One of if not Thee best Portuguese cuisine in New Bedford. Amazing atmosphere Amazing service especially the short older woman she made us feel like family at the dinner table. The food is fresh and was on point. I got the stuffed lobster and let me tell you, one of the best i ever had. Highly Recommend Two Thumbs Up

Amazing place. They make you feel like you are family the minute you walk in. The food and drinks were excellent...one of the best osso buco I have ever had. Friendly people and excellent Portuguese food. It was founded in 2020, but it feels like an institution that has been there for decades. Don't miss this place if you are in New Bedford!

An amazing dining experience today for lunch at Nuno’s in New Bedford. Between the tuna largareiro and the bacalhau (codfish) à Brás two outstanding plates complimented with equally great service by the staff and ownership. Can’t wait to return the next time very soon. Will Mendonca

Delicious martinis, 2 flavorful dishes, and a very yummy tiramisu. I had the special which was Scallops and Shrimp with Mozambique and pasta. Mmm. Amazing sauce and fresh scallops! Our waitress was so friendly and provided excellent service.

Yummo!! Best fish and chips I've ever had in New Bedford! I'm originally from here. I now live in NH and was visiting family. I said I need to go get my Portuguese on. Where do I go? We tried this place honestly because no one was open the Wednesday after Christmas. They were!! Thank you!!😘 Hand cut Portuguese cut fries, don't mind if I do! Thank you for taking the time and not getting frozen, anyone can do that! Keep up the good work ! When I'm in town again I will be stopping by.

Love everything about going to Nuno's for Portuguese foods. Best calamari, had the specials most of the times. Liver and onions was so fantastic.

Finally got here with my parents. Yes, we do tend to be very picky foodies, but this?? Well this left nothing to be picky about! From the greeting at the door, to the table set up, to the service and the amazing food… portions are excellent, wine selection is fabulous! 5 stars all the way around!! Definitely make a reservation, which you can only do online with them, and if you can’t get one (because they are booked) then make the exception to plan an early dinner for this outing, especially on weekends, get there by 4:15-4:30 so you can get a table! Trust me, you won’t regret it, it won’t disappoint…

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the staff made me feel like a regular rather than a first-time guest. Service was attentive without being overbearing, which I really appreciated. The food was the highlight — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite showed attention to quality and presentation, and the portions were just right. You can tell pride goes into what comes out of the kitchen. Overall, this was a great dining experience from start to finish. It’s always a win when you discover a place that exceeds expectations on your first visit. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this spot to anyone looking for good food and great service. The waiter Brian was absolutely professional with timing, refills, ect. Great job Nuno's!!!

I was invited to meet friends here for dinner. While waiting for our table, we enjoyed great cocktails by the cozy bar area. Shortly after we were seated , we were offered bread, drinks and placed an order for several soups and appetizers. The soups were delicious and the chorizo was very tasty. The chicken wings were juicy on the inside and very crispy on the outside. We all had very delicious meals, but personally I can attest for my own. The Sirloin steak covered with garlic and red pepper, no words can describe. Very tasty, cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delicious rice and roasted potatoes. I know this is a long review, but I have to mention a perfect ending to a fabulous dinner, was the chocolate mousse paired with a nice pot of coffee. Great atmosphere, attentive service and mostly, shared with great friends. Thank you for this experience.

My husband and I had a truly wonderful date night at Nuno's. Wonderful hospitality from the moment we called about reservations to the moment we walked out the door. We spent over 3 hours here on a Friday night and at no point did we feel rushed or like we were impeding. Our waitress, Makenzie was so pleasant and helpful giving recommendations and accomodating requests. We shared the Littleneck clams which were HUGE and wonderfully delicious (the bread does a great job of letting you enjoy the broth), the fresh cheese (🤤) and their Regional Steak which was cooked to perfection. The desserts are homemade too, and the espresso packs a great punch! Portions are generous, prices are great, and the hospitality is abundant! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Our waitress was equally wonderful—attentive, funny, and very personable, adding both warmth and charm to the entire experience. This restaurant is a true gem. With its combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and heartfelt hospitality, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Had the "steak regional" Perfectly cooked, not a spec of fat, spiced just right! 3rd time here, same plate and always consistent. Awesome prices and our waitress Ana is absolutely outstanding!

Our favorite Portuguese restaurant! Can’t wait to return; it’s a bit of a drive but well worth it. The atmosphere is very energetic, lots of good vibes here from happy people enjoying great food. There were four of us - we all ordered something different and we all raved about our meals. Their Mozambique sauce is the best I’ve had. Highly recommend and they accept reservations. My boyfriend stopped in for lunch with 12 others after a hike, without reservations, and they were accommodated - he said everyone loved the food and found the prices very reasonable.

The best Bacalao asado I've had. And I've been to many Portuguese restaurants. Atmosphere great!! Service outstanding !!

The round potatoe fries are the best part, but only when they are not soaked, and flavors were a bit bland, great service & atmosphere

Super yummy food! I'm a vegetarian and they make me a special dish each time with pasta, veggies, and sauce. It's DELICIOUS. I wish they'd put it on the menu permanently, it's a little embarrassing to ask for a special meal! But they literally don't have a single vegetarian meal on the menu aside from a garden salad.

The Good: service is friendly, portion sizes are huge, reasonably-priced The Bad: the pork in my CARNE DE PORCO A ALANTEJANA was dry and too salty I would make a return visit to try a different entree.
