On November 4th we went to dinner at Friendly's Utica, NY. Only 1 fabulous waitress (NaNa was her name) was working. She took very good care of us, but I witnessed her efficency and attention to other tables, she always apologizes for any delay. There was also a handicaped couple who were regulars this lovely waitress helped them during their visit and made sure they got into an Uber when they left. Nana was amazing. I told her manager. Friendly's lucky to have her. We really enjoyed our visit.

Great first experience here. As soon as you walk in make sure you have room for ice cream! Cute tables, and environment. Food selection from burgers, to fork food. Ice cream selection is nice with customization.

I walked in after a rough day for an ice cream. I was greeted by Kayla (manager) who gave off so much positivity. I was served by Angela, quick friendly and an absolutely joy. I watched her do her job with such joy that I was slightly envious of the job I have. My ice cream was spot on (thanks Marquissa). I ate the whole thing, and I rarely do so. In the end, I walked out feeling better than I walked in.

The fire alarm went off while we were eating , for a moment I thought I was gonna have to put the "certified life-saver" training to use for the elderly gentleman sitting across from my table... But alas he sorted himself out. Other than that, great food , great service. 4 stars under the atmosphere category for the minor pulmonary event.

The Friendly's location in New Hartford, NY is hands down the BEST Friendly's that my family and I have ever had and we used to go to our local Friendly's multiple times a week before their HQ decided to shut them down. We drove almost an hour away from this location (Chittenango) to be exact just so my wife and I could have this particular sandwich. The wonderful lady Christine who took my phone order was being amazing! So we're Christine's co-workers. Again 5+ stars!!!! The sandwiches and fries were the best we have had period. Christine and her coworker's were top notch. So friendly and pleasant. If other Friendly's locations operated like the New Hartford NY location they would all still be open. Way to go Christine and team! Thank you for making our 2 hour round trip so worth it and for giving us such a memorable dining experience!!!!❤️

Went here with my family, the wait staff were very friendly and when food came back with an error she went back and made sure it was right. I got the turkey club and it was really good (it's half eaten in the photo, there were 4 pieces of sandwich) I got a brownie sundae as well, though I forgot a photo. Food was delicious and still warm. The bathrooms were kinda gross, but usable, toilets were clean but floor was a bit yuck. Also all floors could have used a once over for dropped bits and pieces, but tables, booths, and silverware were very clean

Nay-Nay was a complete sweetheart and handled our massive party of people with such grace! Loved her!! Ordered a tomato soup and grilled cheese and I can’t say the food won me over, but our server definitely did. Would return for Nay-Nay!

We came here for the first time today and couldn't be more pleased, sure they forgot the banana in my wife's banana split but, they took care of us with the same hospitality you'd expect from family and they go above and beyond to correct issues that arise. Truly an amazing little spot. 10/10 Hands down.

Not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly, but our server today, Nene, was an absolute delight and made all guests feel welcomed and cared for. Food is prepared correctly and cooked thoroughly, by cooks Felix & Rob. Manager Heather is very Customer Friendly and focused on making sure that everyone has a great experience! Servers are very Friendly, fast paced and responsive to customer needs. They take customer feedback seriously. All desserts are made fresh and delicious. I’d recommend this location for breakfast, lunch dinner and dessert over IHOP. Prices are very reasonable & The GM actually knows how to run a business.

Christine is awesome! So old-tyme warm. The power of a simple touch is amazing. Placing her hand on my shoulder as she talked and engaged with us... a quick tickle of my 12 year old as he and her made a joke; made us feel like we were in her home as personal guests. Food was fresh, mistake on an ordered item was made but the response to it being bright to their attention was perfect. Can't wait to visit again! Some criticism though: When my 12 year old randomly points at the ceiling times and asks, "hey dad, is that mold up there?" it's time to get that cleaned up. Wash the front entry door windows multiple times a day - usually if the front door isn't clean the rest of the restaurant is the same or worse. This place is a nostalgic gem; please take this seriously and get it cleaned up, we want to come back!

Haven't been to Friendly's for 15 years since it closed in my city. Jim Dandy was a treat we bought in little tubs from the store and were a reminder of the monster desserts we enjoyed in the past. Fruit was fresh. Think they forgot the marshmallow topping 😆 but the experience was delightful all the same. 5/24/2025 Very happy with my Mac n cheese burger. Leveled it up with a slice of tomato, an onion ring and some golden fries 🔥. Kids were very happy. Disappointed they ran out of fried pickles and regular cones on a Saturday night. Also we had to wait over 15 minutes for dessert because there was a mad rush on ice cream orders but overall had a great night out with excellent service!

Friendly's has always been one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, they aren't nearby anymore. The food has always been very good and of course the ice cream is the best!

I haven't been to a Friendly's in a few years. Since that time, they seemed to have revamped the menu. While a few favorites seemed to have been removed (Kicken' Buffalo Chicken platter), the new menu still offers a good selection at reasonable prices. I would recommend it for a quick bite of good food.

I haven't been to Friendly's in about 15 years. The food was ok, nothing spectacular for the price. Our waitress was amazing (she was the only one on shift). The atmosphere was awful due to a large family with 5 out of control children. Our bill was over $140 for a family of 4 that ordered burgers and chicken tenders all with fries and each got a drink....no apps, no dessert...just basic burger and tender meals!!! Outrageous.... I won't be going back there for a long while.

Nutrition info is listed, so close sides to make a lower salt, less fat meal. Good for dining alone, w/fast service & free senior coffee. Seemingly clean in all areas. Naturally, the variety of ice cream combos is great!

I'll admit, I haven't been to a Friendly's in years. The overall experience was good. The interior was a lil dated & needed some good cleaning (quite a bit of dust). Our server was very nice. She came around at respectable times & was quick with drink refills. The food wasn't bad. Getting the Munchie mania(?), the cheeseburger sliders were the best. The chicken quesadilla was ok. Very very basic. Tortilla, cheese & chicken. The tenders definitely had a crunch to them. I actually prefer them that way. No one wants a soggy breaded tender. Overall, it was a fine meal & would go again for lunch or something. Miss getting the ice cream but my body says nope. Would be worth the punishment later tho!

NeNe is a fabulous server! She took care of our party of 7 with such grace and humility! No issues whatsoever. She better be getting a bonus!

Haven't been to this location in years. Stopped in to have lunch with my wife. We were greeted by someone immediately and seated immediately. Waitress was extremely friendly and prompt. We ordered the 9.99 lunch special, drink and half a sandwich of turkey super melt. Food came out quick and was hot. Taste was incredible also. Ordered a Reese ice for dessert. AMAZING. Bill was under 30 bucks for 2. There were many people also coming in for lunch. The atmosphere wasn't great as the dining room looks like it hasn't been remodeled or really cleaned in 20 years. Ceiling tiles extremely black with lint etc, crayon on walls in the booths and other gross things on the walls. Overall it was worth it as the food was good, the service amazing and just the nostalgia feeling was incredible. Worth the visit for sure and will be back.

First I have to say that are waitress was very nice, sociable & attentive to our needs. I had the tuna melt that tasted good. For $14 there could have been a little more Tuna on the sandwich. The fries we're a bit dark and I believe the grease needed to be changed in the fryer. My wife had some sort of beef tips with gravy, onions and mashed potatoes & broccoli. The mashed potatoes were very dry and my wife had to have butter so that she could moisten them up. Before we left my wife had to use the ladies room. As we walked to our vehicle my wife complained to me how filthy the ladies toilet bowl was with poop, toilet paper Etc all over the place. She also said that the sink area was completely filthy and looked like it had not been cleaned in quite a while. She said the ladies room was completely gross.

Listed beers were all out. Wings were not cooked to the same quality as at other locations. Seating could have been better. Server seemed to disappear for 30 minutes. Did she go on break in the middle? If so should've asked someone else to help. Buffalo poutine was very vinegary. Both versions came out luke warm. Side salad was overwhelmed by the amount of onions. Which I like but just wow. Has been much better on past visits

We had a nice meal and it was very good. Then we waited a long time to get a box and my friend wanted a happy ending sundea in a small small cup of chocolate with peanut butter sauce. She received what looked a very large medium with peanut butter cups and chocolate sundae. Then it was almost 8 dollars instead of maybe 3 for a small. I asked the waitress why she didn't get a small like she asked. She said what she ordered doesn't come in small. So next time we're not ordering any ice cream.

Me and my daughter decided to go here to get some appetizers and ice cream one night when much else was closed. The food was good, though we only had the appetizer sampler. Ice cream was good, though I asked for a bowl and got a extra tall sundae glass. Also asked for light sauce and it was loaded. The waitress was okay. I had to ask 3 separate times for a children's menu and crayons for my daughter, finally getting up to get them myself from the hostess stand. The tables were not clean, including the one we were seated at. This is despite the restaurant being practically empty. The menus were disgusting. Clearly super dirty. Despite the fact that right now, restaurants are recommended to use throw away menus, or at the least required to sanitize the menus after each use. Something they clearly didn't do in the slightest. Crayons were also reused, despite again, it being recommended they not be right now.

The food took forever and it was not great. The waitress was pleasant. The worst thing we saw was three sundaes sitting on the counter melting and instead of the staff remaking them; they added whipped cream to the top of them twice (that's how long they sat out). Never again

(could be dust) on the ceiling, dirty tables, booths, and sticky menus. We don’t eat at Friendly’s all that much but we definitely go in for the ice cream. I’ve been taking my kids since they were young and sometimes we eat ice cream for our meal (but don’t tell mom). Unfortunately the place hasn’t had many improvements in the last 10 years but the wait staff is friendly and they still serve the Reese’s pieces Sunday! For the uninitiated, the large sundae is only 50 cents more than the medium!

Listen, I am not normally one to complain about service, especially on a holiday week, but this may have been the worst served place I have ever been. The food was good! Don't get me wrong, I love diner fare. But we were seated near the front of the restaurant with 4 other tables. During our time,they were never cleaned. Dishes sat on the table for 30 mins after customers left, and even then no wiping down. It wasn't a busy night and there were two servers there. My wife and I were planning on getting ice cream but after we finished eating and waited about 30 mins for the check we decided against it. My patty melt was very good though!

Ordered kids menu double sliders with french fries and received single sliders and macaroni and cheese. I told the waitress but instead of fixing the bill she was going to bring french fries out. Told her don’t bother. She brought the bill to show the order was for double sliders but instead of trying to explain again to her they weren’t double sliders or event the fact that we did not order side of mac and cheese ( but charged for it) decided to just get his kids sundae and leave. We had already been there too long waiting. Then upon paying for the bill realized the bill she had previously given me was less than what I actually paid. Not even sure why it was different, a dollar or so more but didn’t want to stay any longer so just will never ever go back again. It’s really a shame how this friendlys has gone downhill. The restaurant itself is run down. Ceiling is disgusting and walls are dirty.

My friend and I enjoyed our sundaes. However after l received the bill and tipped the total was 24.95 yet when I looked at my bank account they took the 24.95 plus another transaction for $4 more . I was not happy. I don't know what they did but I don't think I will return. If you do go I wouldn't use your debit card. They obviously don't think you'll check your account.

The sandwiches and fries were good. The ice cream and prices were atrocious. I ordered a large sundae. You get three toppings. I ordered double caramel, butterfinger and asked for whip and rainbow sprinkles. I got the sundae and there were 3 scoops of ice cream some caramel and some butterfinger. I inquired about amount of ice cream. The waitress said they use 3 scoops for large sundaes now. The might as well put in kids sundae cup. We got the bill and $52. I was flabbergasted. I was charged $1.98 for an extra caramel and sprinkles. Unbelievable! We will not be going there anymore. So sad.

Could have just been a bad day in the kitchen, but my wife's and my patti-melt sandwiches were really on thick, lightly toasted bread. Nothing grilled. No butter or anything that should have been grilled with the bread. The barbecue sauce was not too prevalent, but it may just have seemed that way because the bread was so dry (often there is a bit too much barbecue sauce on it for me, but this went pretty far the other way). It has been a couple of years since I've been to a Friendly's restaurant--most have closed around me--and this could be the new norm?

It's funny a place that has the slogan " where the ice cream makes the meal" you would think ice cream would always be perfect. Well this time has now made it where I will not waste my money on "bad product". I had ordered a large fribble and received a little over half filled large cup. Also ordered no cherries since my son is allergic and guess what they were on them. Mind you this was an order to go at night and I didn't think I would have to inspect this garbage they call ice cream. Be sure to check your order since they don't listen to customers. Update: manger tried calling the next day. Have not been able to speak to her as of yet but will update once I do.

So all of my reviews at this Friendly’s have been great so far, but twice now I’ve ordered ice cream online and picked it up and they’ve gotten the order wrong. We ordered with hot fudge sauce and got chocolate syrup instead, which is thin and not that good/-really disappointing. I’m afraid to order online now. Someone working there doesn’t know the difference or doesn’t care. Bummer.

I was very disappointed; this was the first time I had been in back several months. I had hoped things would have improved, but they have not. This time I had my son. Just like last time the service was awful, we were ignored. They took my order and came only once to check on us during the 1hr 30min visit. Our order got put in at 6:48pm and we weren't served until 7:30. If it wasn't for a kind person who told the waitress my son was hungry, it may have taken even longer to get food. She brought his food over, apologized, and said that after they put my order in, they got swamped with take out orders, which I understand are just as important. I am sorry, but I shouldn't have to wait 40 minutes for grilled cheese, fries, and a sandwich. They were more focused on the take out orders instead of the orders in the restaurant. I had to wait for my meal even after we got the kids' meal. Even my meal was okay, you could tell it was made in a rush and not even hot. I won't be returning again anytime soon.

Not a good experience at all. Inattentive server. Stale bun. Ice cream literally sat on counter for ten minutes melting and they were going to serve it to us. I made them remake them but they only redid the sundae (and did it wrong). The "famous thick shake" was watery. Never came back to refill our drinks. Not a good experience at all.

Coffee and food cold. Had to wait 30 minutes for breakfast. Only one server, abut surprisingly she was pleasant and kept thanking everyone for their patience. Gave Friendly's another chance after a horrible experience 6 months ago. Got ignored for 30 minutes this time. Walked out again. Does your staff not have any standards or work ethics ? Kinda makes me wonder what kind of person owns this place. It was filthy as hell. Staff was rude. Friendly's used to be a wonderful restaurant. Disgraceful. The health department really needs to take a look at this place. If the diningroom is filthy , I can't imagine the kitchen and freezers. Will never go there again. Sad

We have ordered sundaes 3 times thru doordash and all 3 times everything was wrong. I ordered 3 scoops of ice cream in 2 different flavors and got 3 scoops of the same icecream. I asked for double hot fudge and didn't get it. Another order was missing all the toppings except for the peanut bitter. We tried 3 timrs to order and all 3 times there were errors. Won't try again

I’m utterly disappointed in my visit to this specific Friendly location. First of all, it took almost forever for our server to come to our table and take our drink and food orders. At that time, there were only a few other families in the restaurant. When our ice cream came out, most of it was already melted and it tasted terrible. It looked like and tasted like a cold soup. We received our drink order, which was simply 5 glasses of water when we were preparing to leave the restaurant. It’s safe to say you should avoid this location until they get their act together!

Popped in while traveling. Service was extremely slow, our drinks were empty the majority of the time were there. Each waitress had a max of 3 tables but it took forever to get our drinks filled, food, and check. We didn't have time to sit and wait for ice cream. They half bused each table, leaving bowls of melting ice cream and never actually wiping the tables. The restaurant itself was pretty yucky. Definitely an older restaurant but the tables, seats, and walls were grimy. The food was fine when it finally arrived.

I’m not one to complain but this place was terrible. The bathrooms were gross the floors were sticky no hot water in the bathroom. The sink nozzle was about broken. Thankful they had toilet paper and paper towels. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. They were not all that busy at this time. Our waitress didn’t check on us. I was supposed to get a Buffalo wrap instead got honey mustard instead and I was not going to wait another hour to remake. We watched food get put on the counter and sit there for a while before served every time. Menus were sticky. Lemonade was gross did not taste like lemonade. The ceiling had black stuff in vents. This was absolutely disgusting.

Went in last night as a group of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) we got sat at a table, waiting for a waitress to come take our drink order, no one came over. Then the lady that sat us, told the waitress that we were her table, well she went to a table of 3 that got SEATED after us. So once that happened we got up and left, we were planning on leaving a good tip, and she blew it. Like that is SUPER poor service, and just changed everything about that night so we left and went somewhere else!

There was an older lady with dark hair that met me at the front counter of the store that was incredibly rude. She seemed as if I bothered her with my presence and not once made eye contact. I will say typically on the weekends there will be another lady with short blonde hair that is absolutely phenomenal. To the dark hair lady, I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul. Edit: I will be reaching out to the general manager because on 11/2/25 one of the cooks by the name of Heather was openly cursing and complaining about orders being placed, I genuinely can not believe that someone could be so unprofessional AND look me in the eyes while saying all of this. Again, the sweet blonde woman to the rescue and told her to calm down

We arrived at Friendly’s around 5:49 PM and didn’t leave until 8:30 PM — and not by choice. Everything took way too long. The food itself was good and our waitress was friendly, but she was clearly overwhelmed and the restaurant was extremely short-staffed. There just wasn’t enough help to keep up. I wouldn’t go back on my own, and honestly, I would have left much sooner if I hadn’t been there for work.

Took my mom here for her birthday 🎂 on 8.11.25. Service was really really slow. Our order came up and our waitress walked by it 5x before delivery to table. The ice cream and whip cream were melted. And she delivered the Sundays with np tray...a few at a time verses all at once. I do not recommend at all !!

4/1/25 - ordered delivery. The breakfast melt was disgusting, no yolks at all one side of sandwich, two over cooked well done egg yolks on other side of sandwich. I've ordered this sandwich many times, the eggs were always over easy cooked so you had yolk to dip sandwich in. I'll attach pics if gross sandwich i received, I didn't even eat this disgusting mess of a sandwich. Be warned if no option on how to cook the eggs don't buy as you will get a messed up meal. 10/27/24 update, delivery via grubhub. The (harvest stack) hot covered turkey was completely cold, not even warm in the least. It could have been a delicious covered sandwich but not when it's so cold it tastes like they literally opened a can of gravy & just poured it over cold turkey, stuffing & mashed potatoes. It also came in an open plastic bag, not sealed at all. Not cool at all friendly's!! the paper containers the food comes in are horrible. The banana split was mostly melted & all you could taste was strawberries, no pineapples, marshmallow sauce or chocolate syrup. Just an all around horrible meal & dessert. Friendly's quality has completely gone to non existent. Maybe if eating in restaurant it may be better, but if getting delivery, just expect cold disgusting food & management that could care less! Deserves negative zero stars $40 is not a cheap meal. Find somewhere else to eat delivery because you will not be happy here. I used to never have issues with their food, Whatever the reasons, friendly's needs to do better..
