There food is BUSSINNNNNN. OMG. Today was my first time coming to this place I can't believe it's been around for years and I didn't know about it, now I'm obsessed. I can't wait to go back because the food is so flavorful and fresh.I don't think I've ever ate so food where I haven't felt groggy and unhealthy afterwards but with this food I don't feel that way AT ALL. The man at the front counter was SUPER nice, patient and professional from the moment I entered until I left with my order. It was great to see that they follow COVID guidelines and I loved the Convenience of paying with card the touchless way.I've had other soul food in NewRochelle and it wasn't as good as this place, Pepe's Place is unmatched. Overall I highly recommend Pepe's place if you're in the mood for some tasty soul food, for sure..I had the fish shrimp mac & cheese greens yams and fries and it was all so so good, nothing was overly greasy or overcooked, it was perfect - coming from an extremely picky eater..I can't wait to order from them again

The food is excellent. Always fresh and well prepared with just the right amount of seasoning and flavor. The staff is top notch in customer service...professional and courteous. Pepe's is my go to spot in New Rochelle.

Pepe's Where do I start! 1. Customer Service: Was top notch (5 Stars) for an over the counter stop. TRUST won't be long for these guys and gals to transition to a full blown restaurant (if you were looking for an early crowd source opportunity: HERE YOU ARE!). My family of six came in and were treated very well even though it was a mildly busy time. 2. Menu: Seven clear and concise areas to choose from. Everything from Meats to Seafood including tasty desserts. 3. Food: Cooked fresh super excellent! The sauces are amazing and in-house developed. The shrimp is super crispy and cooked with fresh oils. The lamb and Mac and cheese is world-class: seriously, not the squeezed stuff. Great mix of Mediterranean Food meets Soul Food. 4. Overall Experience: A+. Will be one of those places to visit everytime I'm in town. I like that it doesn't feel commercial. It felt warm and friendly suburban with a city vibe. I would definitely add to one of my family's ongoing destination spots for NY.

My family and I just stopped in to have dinner and it was delicious. We live blocks away from this spot, but have never stopped in until today. The grilled chicken and lamb platter is delicious with a little kick, and my girls loved the mac and cheese and yams. Very friendly hosts and the music was perfect.

Yummmm! I’m not usually one for fried fish/shrimp and soul food, but I was having a rough day and needed something deep fried. This food was soo satisfying! Hubby and I tried the Thai shrimp, Buffalo shrimp, fried fish, yams, mustard greens and Mac and cheese (yeah we went in! 😂). The fish was phenomenal, crisp, flavorful but not really greasy. Both shrimps were good, but I preferred the Thai. The Buffalo shrimp had more heat than flavor…. And no blue cheese dressing?!? The greens were excellent. I LOVED the Mac and cheese. It wasn’t typical soul food Mac and cheese… it was a bit more simple in flavor. My husband did not like it. Ha! He loved the yams, but they were too sweet for me. All in all a very satisfying meal. Definitely recommended if you want something indulgent.

Friendly crew that prepares arguable most delicious takeout dish of New Rochelle. Buffalo shrimp or Thai chili shrimp with fries are the way to go. (Comes with french fries) Generous portion sizes and amazing fresh flavors every time. Small issues i have: -they give lemon slices that i could only see under a microscope (1/6 of a lemon/lime boys) -Fries are served under shrimp and get soggy in sauce, ruining texture of the fries. They should be served seperately. -Pricing is tough at $23 for a meal for 1 with cheaper options like avenue deli and chicken joes in the area. Love this spot when I'm willing to shell some cash for a tasty protein-rich meal.

I came to new rochelle to pick up some empinadas and was looking for something extra. I goggle this restaurant and saw a chicken and lamb gyro. I went there and ordered. The place had one person in it.i thought he was waiting for his order. But he worked there. We got to talking about how some places describe there food like they changed the wheel. I was commenting about two their menu items and the chef came out the kitchen and gave me samples of each dish and they were great. I purchased the lamb and chicken gyro and I ate it hours after a purchased itand was delicious. The gentleman I spoke to was the chef and his brother. The place may not look like much but the food and the people make all the difference and I will definitely be going back

Tasty food! We like their gyros, buffalo wings, jumbo shrimp and fries. Their macaroni & cheese is rated highly and when I tried it I was not disappointed. OMG! The Thai Jumbo Shrimp is sweet, a bit spicy and completely deeeelicious😋 My only concern is drink options. I asked for fresh juice but got something that tasted like Sunny Delight. It's a good place for takeout as the service is fast and friendly. You can eat in if you don't mind bar stools and a narrow counter. Note that they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

I will start by saying that I am a big fan of buffalo sauce. I read a ton of reviews and articles raving about this place. Many of them seemed hyperbolic. After eating the buffalo shrimp gyro I can confidently say that it is not hyperbole. Before today there were 4 meals I've had in my life that stand out as transcendent. Now there are 5. I never would have imagined a buffalo shrimp gyro from a tiny place in New Rochelle would have a life-changing emotional impact on me, but here we are. If you are a fan of buffalo sauce then stop what you're doing and go here. There is a white sauce on the gyro as well. I don't know if that comes with the platter, but make sure you get it and eat it together with the shrimp. All of the reviews, the articles, and the foodie lists still did not prepare me for what I experienced today. Beware of the impact this shrimp will have. The pre-Pepe era of my life is over, and the vastly different reality of the post-Pepe era has begun in a disorienting yet euphoric haze.

Best food I had. I'm from Long Island passing through and it caught my eye. Glad I stopped in. I had the mix plate...chicken and lamb platter...and it was so far the best I had. Also tried the mac and cheese and out of this world. I'm definitely coming back to try the all day breakfast platter which is challah French toast and boneless fried chicken breast on top. Need to also try the thai chili shrimp!!! Great music while you eat!!!

great place for halal food in new rochelle, great owner and staff. this is a place that will make you feel comfortable by the people, the service, and the food. The shrimp meals are a little pricey but not more than city island and for the flavor it is absolutely worth it. The owner makes great weekly dessert specials that are to die for. Not open on Mondays but it worth the wait until tuesday.

I am so ashamed to say that I have lived in New Rochelle for over a decade and have never eaten at this restaurant. I look forward to trying the entire menu. I am regretting that I didn't try the Thai chili jumbo shrimp first, but I wasn't pleasantly satisfied with the jumbo shrimp, ling fish, and fries. The house tartar sauce and coleslaw almost made me wish that I asked for extra on the side and I rarely eat coleslaw.

We ordered two Jumbo Shrimp with Ling Whiting meals😋 with sides of mustard greens😋 and Tahitian Vanilla bean yams😋...Everything was absolutely delicious!! Fresh and properly prepared neatly. The little cup of coleslaw was awesome just way toooo smalll!!! Next time we'll order a side of cole slaw and more shrimp. My husband and I came here tonight for the first time and we will be back. We had the fish, yams, potato salad, and turnip greens. Everything was delicious and we plan to frequent this establishment on a regular basis. We’ve been to many Soulfood spots but this by far is in our top three, you will not be disappointed.

First visit - Good food, good value and nice people - what more can you expect from takeout. Had the Moroccan Lamb Gyro - excellent and a meal in itself now I'll have to go back and try the other three varieties - a meal for 6 bucks - not much room left for a side, but based on a sampling they are worth a try as well (Mac & cheese, collards, yams....).

Pepes is my go to spot when I'm in the vicinity. The buffalo shrimp and fried fish if heaven to me. Their special homemade drink is delicious. Not only is the food tasty but the service is great. Good conversation good consistent food. What more can you ask for. Support our local business!!

The food here is as amazing!!! Fried fish gyro ia amazing perfection, buffalo shrimp (Best of Westchester), addictive Mac & cheese, lovely candied (not to sweert and light!), fried chicken that stays crispy even after a20 minute drive!!! The only reason I cannot say more is because a friend hipped me to this place a few weeks ago and I have tried the entire menu. Each time is just as good as the last. It is DELICIOUS!!! The staff is equally as amazing. I will be trying everything on the menu and then come back after that again and again. GREAT all around! 😄

As soon as I stepped in I was greeted by Pepe himself and engaged into some small chat and was also greeted by his awesome staff. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming with the amazing customer service it felt like I was right at home. And I had bought a Mac and cheese dish I can't quite remember the name but as I took a bite I couldn't even believe how much flavor came out of one bite instantly it took over and I felt nothing but bliss and I couldn't help myself but to share with my family and they all had the same priceless reaction as me! Best fried shrimp dinner I’ve ever had. Large delicious shrimp with the perfect crunch. I got the Thai chili sauce on the side. It also came with delicious homemade skin-on hand cut fries. Also, what they call their tarter sauce is really a high-end garlic aioli, which is awesome on both the shrimp and fries. A small simple coleslaw is also included, which was refreshing. While my order was being prepared I got the pleasure of chatting with Marshall,; a very nice experience and amazing food. I’ll be back!

The Thai chilli shrimp is so yummy, the hand cut fries remind you of your mom's, the Mac n Cheese was tasty and the greens did their job. I can not forget the fried whitting, 5 stars. The owner, Pepe, was in the back cheffing it up! Pepe is such a humble man, cheerful man. I ordered the Thai chili jumbo shrimp and ling (Whiting) combo platter with rice, lettuce and tomato. Well, everything was fresh cut and not frozen!! The fries were "home" for me. So many nights as a child, my mom would cut up potatoes and make fresh fries and I hated them because they weren't McDonald's fries Now, I will take my fresh cut fries over any fast-food spot! These fries are the real deal! Made fresh to order. Worth the extra calories. The shrimp and fish combo was also excellent! Well seasoned and atop a bed of flavorful yellow rice. My tummy was happy and I will be back! Always excited to support small businesses and it is truly a bonus to me personally when the business is Black/Minority owned.

I got the fried *buffalo shrimp 🍤 Excellent it’s not to hot has a slightly balanced sweetness to it. If you don’t know if to choose between the Thai and this, the Thai is just sweet but still really good. To me the fries weren’t too great wish they had mashed potatoes instead. Service excellent - no where to seat so grab to go ! Also the peach cheesecake- you’re welcome ;)

I ordered the chicken, which was going to take a while, and when I picked up the rest of the order, it was still hot and fresh! The plate I tried (fried chicken, mac & cheese, and candied yams) was okay overall. The chicken had a nice crunch, though it wasn’t as juicy as I expected and could use a little more seasoning. The mac & cheese was creamy but needed a bit more flavor to really shine. The candied yams were the highlight, sweet and well-balanced. Ratings: Taste – 8/10 Portion Size – 9/10 Preparation – 9/10 Value – 8/10 ($22 for a generous portion) Fried Chicken – 7.5/10 Mac & Cheese – 7.5/10 Candied Yams – 8/10 Overall – 8/10: A hearty meal with large portions and solid preparation. First of all, superb food overall. I was traveling through New Rochelle and saw this Halal place on google maps. I stepped and was greeted by the dude at the counter, very pleasant man and very cool soul music. My from Brooklyn, like an hour to 1 1/2 away from home, so I ordered more food so that I could really taste and rate this place. I ordered the Moroccan Style Lamb Gyro (5/5), the NY Style Buffalo Shrimp (3/5) with fries (4/5) along with Tarter Sauce and Coleslaw. I finished this with their famous Mac n Cheese (3/5) and their signature Fruit Punch (5/5). Overall, the Lamb Gyro and fruit punch were amazing. The Mac n cheese and the Shrimp seemed like they were from a high end restaurant, but personally I like my Mac and cheese more cheesy and the shrimp sauce was too sweet. This place still gets a 4/5, very nice. No bathroom though :)

The food was not good. I ordered fried fish with basamati rice and salad. The fish was not seasoned at all and some pieces were a little fishy tasting. The rice had onions tomatoes and cabbage I think in it. I’m a picky eater but also didn’t expect that. And the salad was in the plate with hot food getting soggy and there was dressing on it already. I was never asked if I wanted dressing or what type. Waste of my money. The older black gentleman was very polite and was coming to my car to notify me my food was ready. That was the best part of the meal.

I decided to stop by after reading the reviews & it’s close to where I work. The guys were nice & the service was fast. The issue was the flavor. Was quite disappointing being that I was hyped up prior to reading the reviews . I ordered the lamb & chicken platter . The whole dish tasted the same. Really bland. What stood out was the chicken & the white sauce. But that rice was not it.. I guzzled a bunch of juice to get that bland taste outta my mouth. Halal truck food is much more flavorful imo. Overall food was cheap & came up to $5 & was quick service. But that specific meal wasnt tasty imo. I may go back to order their bbq shrimp which seems to be popular.

I dont even know where to begin with the horrible food. What i do know is that im never eating there again!!....The fish was tastless and the fries were soggy. The moroccan lamb platter was the worst! It looked like someone ate half the plate and gave it to us because the little piece of meat was dry and burnt...and for 8$???. Ive had better lamb for 5$ from a halal truck. I was also annoyed that there were no simple condiments included like salt/pepper packets and ketchup. Like who gives fries without ketchup? Who?Overall very disappointed!

Omg no lie, this is the worst soul food I have ever ordered in my entire life. The Mac and cheese I spit out as quick as it entered my mouth. The shrimp and the fish was dry and bland. My order total $70, hubby and I wasn’t able to eat the food because it tasted that bad, yes it was that bad. Waste of money, smh, never again. You’ve been warned!!!!

Okay so this was my first time here me and my husband, and I must say the macaroni and cheese was to mushy for me (overcooked) we both got the chicken over rice but mine was mixed. The salad was already wilted and the sauce was not so tasty, the mustard greens had no flavor. Definitely was not a fan and will not go back.

Today is September 5, 2025 first time I went to this restaurant I ordered mac & cheese fried chicken and yams. The mac & cheese was disgusting. It was bland and it was white mushy bullshit. The fried chicken was disgusting. The yams I’ll give it from one to 10 I’ll give it a three I would never go back to this restaurant. If these people cannot cook why open up a restaurant let’s not forget my meal was $25 for little three pieces of chicken, a small portion of mac & cheese and a small portion of yams that are three year-old wouldn’t even get full off of this is horrible
