Visited Alibi after a group we met at another bar recommended it. From the moment we walked in we were transported to a fun, chic, and good time. 10/10 would come again!

Gonna miss Alibi! Heard that the new people stole our beautiful BLACK LGBT bar in Harlem? Like they didn't pay for it and now they're just making money and keeping for straight people!
I liked this place a lot—my friends and I had a fun time and really enjoyed the atmosphere which is very pleasant and laid-back. Drinks are a tiny bit on the pricey side, but they are high quality and the service was quite nice and the staff/bartenders were friendly and very welcoming.
Amazing bar — always a joy coming here! The owner, Alexi, has really down something special for Black gay men in Harlem. Love the space, drinks, and hot guys who frequent the place 😉
I truly miss this place. I still can't that the people that were supposed to be honest and give and destroy the legacy of this iconic place. They should be a shame of themselves. We should name them Allen Hassel, Elaine Perry, Jeannette Lawson, Carmen T Hurt!
We ran over cause we thought it closed at 10 pm. False. They don't close till 4 am! What a wonderful environment. We heard about Alibi lounge from people at Stonewall Inn as a black gay owned business and wanted to support. Let's put some love on top! Alexi was our magical bartender. We found our neighborhood bar/hangout! How fun!
I came here with a bunch of friends and we had a great time. The drinks were great. The bartenders were so friendly and nice. The music was on point too. I love the atmosphere with the mirrors and the stripper pole! Would love to visit again soon.

A great new venue and a safe space in Harlem for people of color. That is not to say that none people of color are not welcome quite the opposite. The drinks are a little expensive especially for being so far up, but the atmosphere makes up for that.
The drinks and vibe of the bar is great and the bartenders are probably the better looking men I've seen in some time. And then you do have the clientele...the extremely superficial "I make more than 90K a year" uppity new money working for someone else Harlem blacks gays who thinks everyone is beneath them. Often in their late hundreds, trying to side eye as much as they can, playing that "I'm think I'm too gorgeous to be nice" meanwhile looking like a clown and sad in the process. This is 140th St, please chill out. But that killed the vibe ultimately, so I dashed over to Harlem Nights where the crowd was less pretentious.

Bartenders are kind and professional but I think the beers are over priced..... a Corona is 9$! If I go to midtown is 7 $.... I suggest the owner to reviews the price of his products. Otherwise it would keep the crowd away
I just moved to harlem and wanted to support the local gay bar but 12 dollars for a well vodka (cash only) is crazy. I rather go to other places where the prices are reasonable

I want to love this bar since it's one of very few gay-friendly options in the neighborhood. But when you walk into the bar not only is it crowded, it's unwelcoming atmosphere. I have gone here multiple times to get drinks and every time they treat me like I'm not part of the neighborhood. I've been to many bars in the city and this one is by far the most overpriced for where it's located. And the food menu is out of a microwave.
If only i could give a half star .. This bar needs a lot of work ! It's terribly managed with "managers" who eject themselves from patron issues and who are very careless . The strippers/ Go-go dancer are great looking but solicit you for unwanted services and try to fight you for $60 . Over priced drinks .. I had to instruct the bartender on how to craft a very simple rum and coke. Needless to say i will NOT be returning soon and predict a very soon out of business fate for this establishment.
The owner of this establishment is VERY disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. The owner singled out my friend and I demanding we close our tab. When i asked why he replied because people have been stealing from him. As an african american male, i feel very offended and discriminated against that you would assume, with no valid reason, that I would steal from an establishment i regularly visit. However, the bartenders like Dwight are very good. Eventhough i had a very bad experience with the owner the bartenders here are amazing.
disrespected by an owner. Read the reviews and ignored. Bartenders are amazing but owner is very rude very over barring and mad me feel belittled AFTER i just spent money on rounds on drink and even asked about possible packges about hosting a party. The disrespect was to the point stranger's at the bar offered to walk out with me in my guest and continually asked if we were ok. I will never reccomend this place if you want to be a respected patron!
It was all fine until I was on my way out. I paid with a card and left a few dollars as a tip. As I go to gather my things, the Bartender calls out to me , "is that your money?". I told him no I left it for the Bar, meaning as a Tip. He then grabs the money reaches it toward me and says "Take it the bar doesn't want your money". This was last night around 1am. I was disgusted and so shocked I stood still with my jaw dropped for about 2 mins before storming out. I've never been to a bar or restaurant establishment where someone shoved my tip back in my face and said *we don't need it* How disrespectful. I used to like Alibi. I'll never go there again.
I would never come here again. I’m not sure who the new owners are but they are overcharging. We ordered 3 frozen drinks with barely any alcohol in it and one shot of patron and the cost came to $94! I don’t mind spending money on drinks but the bartender included a $14 tip and they charged us over $20 for using a credit card. The service was subpar. When I pay this type of money I expect to have excellent service. The bartender was lazy, spent most of the time on her phone and never checked in with us or anyone for that matter. We had to ask for water a few times and I saw the same frustration in a few other customers and a man who was also behind the counter with her appeared to be somewhat frustrated with her as well. I hate when small businesses like this come in and try to exploit the community. I will never come here again.
We spent $100 for three drinks… which is fine BUT, if you are going to give your self a 14% gratuity need to ask everyone “you okay?!” “Can I bring you anything else?!” Consistently. We had to ask 4 times for cups water because our bartender was in the corner on her phone on FaceTime with her leg up. There is no register, they use their phone to calculate prices. Other People were getting extremely frustrated and someone had to step in and help her because she said she was so claimed busy however, nobody is really at the bar. This was NOT one of my favorites and I live in Harlem and I always support local businesses. However I would not recommend. Money hungry and lazy.
This place no longer is operating. I walked there and the new owners shared it was no longer Alibi. this should be removed.
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE GOING TO THIS BAR: This place uses predatory methods to avoid paying their employees. Not only that but the quality is subpar and the drinks were incredibly expensive. The nice scenery could not compensate for the lack of ethics conducted by the management who use their status to profit off people wanting to earn a living wage. Would not recommend, Respectfully :)
