Opinions de Antique Garage New York
If I could give a million stars, I would. We had dinner tonight at Antique Garage, and I am still thinking about how incredible the food was. My husband is from Türkiye and even he said it was better than any Turkish restaurant we have tried in the United States. From the appetizers to the main courses to dessert, every single dish was spectacular. The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly balanced. My relatives were genuinely shocked at how good everything tasted. At one point we were all just looking at each other saying, “Wow.” The hospitality was just as impressive as the food. The hostess Paulina was so gracious. We had a reservation for six, arrived late, and ended up with seven people, and she still accommodated us without hesitation. She even came over with hot tea and checked on us throughout the evening. The servers were attentive, warm, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and special. The atmosphere is stunning. It’s rare to find a place that is both aesthetically beautiful and serves truly exceptional food, but this restaurant absolutely delivers both. If you are looking for an unforgettable Turkish dining experience in New York, this is the place. We will absolutely be back.
This place is great! It's super heavy on atmosphere without being pretentious, has good but not amazing Mediterranean-ish food that is good for casual dining, and the service is snappy & friendly. Great for a spontaneous light drink or meal while in the neighborhood. This place does get stacked at popular times, so rezzies are probably a good idea for groups of more than 2.
Antique Garage Soho is one of my faves in the city. I went this time with a large group, and despite that, the servers were incredibly attentive and kind throughout the night. The food never disappoints. My first time ordering hummus and i loved the it!!! The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, the octopus was unbelievably soft and delicious, and the fish was perfectly prepared. This was my third visit, and every single time the food has been excellent. I also adore the antique, lovely vibe of the space. It always feels warm, charming, and special, like stepping into another era. Highly recommend this spot for date nights or any occasion when you want great food and a lovely atmosphere.
I chose this restaurant for Christmas dinner for my party of 4, as we were not restricted to a pre-fixe menu. There were also plenty of vegetarian options. We had the halloumi, zucchini spring rolls, calamari salad, French fries, & 2 bottles of the Turkish red wine. All highly recommended! Entrees were whole Branzino, spicy shrimp, lamb skewers, & mashed potatoes. Not one bad bite the whole evening. Ambiance is beautiful, & Orlando our server was attentive, professional, & helped to make our dinner go smoothly. Wonderful experience!
I went for lunch. The decor and the atmosphere is cool, it is something between theatrical, hip, and chic. They were very attentive and aware about making sure my experience was good, and they brought me a free dessert when they felt I may have waited for too long. I appreciate how much they cared to make me feel valued. I will definitely come back one evening for the music.
Love coming to this place. Almost every time my in laws come to visit, we come here. And since it is in the heart of SoHo, the location is vibrant and lively. I love the vintage feel of atmosphere, and the darker ambient lighting. The service has always been top notch, as well as the food and drinks. The restaurant has a combined indoor/ outdoor seating area, which suits parties who are divided on where to sit! Always have a lovely time here 🗽🩵
This place felt like therapy—relaxing, uplifting, and exactly what I’ve been missing. The elegant decor, calming atmosphere, and delicious Turkish food made for a perfect experience. Uğur Bey's hospitality was exceptional, and Gabriel provided top-notch service. Thank you both! Highly recommended. Don't miss out on the warm ambiance here. Next time, we'll definitely visit the other location to enjoy some jazz music. 🎶 🎷 🎶 🎷
Antique Garage's location in SoHo, is SO lovely!! My friends & I visited for the first time this weekend and we had a great experience for brunch. The food is so delicious - we split a couple of appetizers (we tried the Hummus + Borek). Each dish was so, so yummy, as there was so much flavor and the portions were nice. For cocktails, their Mango Mezcalita was so good!! My boyfriend had a cup of Turkish coffee and it came with a small Turkish delight, which was so cute. They had live music when we visited as well, which added to the charm of the already beautiful atmosphere inside of this restaurant. This is an awesome spot - highly recommend!! UPDATE (6/1/2024): My boyfriend & I returned to Antique Garage for dinner with family this weekend, and it was an equally wonderful experience (after we initially visited for brunch). We tried the Meze Trio with Muhammara, Hummus, and Tzatziki, Grilled Octopus, Fennel Avocado Salad, Grilled Salmon, and a side of their Mashed Potatoes. Everything was so delicious!! For cocktails, we did the Mango Mezcalita again, but also tried the Mezcal Negronic & Spicy Margarita as well during this visit. Can confirm: Antique Garage is a great spot for dinner!!
What a lovely, lovely restaurant! Located right in the heart of Soho, Antique Garage has such great vibes and beautiful interiors. We had a wonderful server who made us laugh throughout the dinner and recommended the best dishes. The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking, and the tuna could use some more seasoning, but still delicious. Perfect for a date night x
I was recommended this restaurant by my Turkish foodie coworker and I was not disappointed. From the rustic/antique interior to the excellent food taste and presentation, this restaurant absolutely lived up to the hype. I had the lamb shish kebab, it was a bit on the pricey side but it was definitely worth it. I will be back here again to try the other menu items
Fancy Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Soho. Interior design is one of a kind, good food but not super impressive. Staff is very kind and friendly. Art on the walls and the music creates a dazzling atmosphere. We got their Turkish breakfast platter and the mixed appetizer platter, both of which turned out to be yummy. Sucuk was good but we had suspicions about how well the eggs were cooked. Salmon fume asparagus by far our fave. Mixed meze platter comes with cheese rolls, make sure you taste them, they slay. Farmers omelette was just okay imo. Overall great experience, Soho prices. Worth a visit.
This place is a hidden gem. The food and service is outstanding. From host to servers, all the staff were absolutely lovely, professional and helpful. The lovely Turkish bartender lady made us amazing cocktails. Exceptional drinks, apps, dinners and desserts. I went there with my non-Turkish friends and I didn’t know the restaurant is owned by a Turkish chef until we arrived to the restaurant. So it was a proud moment for me to find out this great Mediterranean restaurant has Turkish touches. We will come back! Highly recommended. We ordered: mixed meze platters (hummus, tzatziki, circassian chicken tarama, muhammara, fava spread and assorted boreks), MANTI(steam minced beef dumplings topped with yogurt and tomato sauce), Sultan’s Delight (mix grilled Adana, lamb chop, lamb shish and chicken kebabs), Kalamari, grilled octopus, Ceviche, Bar steak and mixed desserts. Favorite: grilled octopus ( melting in my mouth) Least favorite: - Ambience: 5 (romantic, restaurant) Price: 4 (reasonable for the food quality) Quality of food: 5 (fresh and tasty) Service: 5 Overall: 5
Small space but very beautiful and cozy for a nice romantic date night. Loved the decor and ambience. Great service, all the waiters are very attentive. The bar is pretty small not enough room at the bar. Let me just talk about the food! It was so delicious and tasty. Everything I had this exotic meditereanean flavor. Overall everything was great, just a small space but the food and service overlooks that
Come for the vibes, not necessarily the food. They converted a mechanic's garage in a really cool way.. dripping with chandeliers, mismatched antiques, and candlelit charm. Very SoHo without being too try-hard 12 of us went in for weekday lunch. They did a stellar job of accommodating us. The Mediterranean food (mezes, kebabs, grilled octopus) was solid and tasty.. didn’t blow our minds, but no complaints Good spot if you want to chill, grab a drink and people watch
Our work teams want to have a nice dinner together and people love the place! The ambiance and atmosphere was very lovely! I order a medium rarer steak but it more rare in my opinion. The food is good, people are ok with it. But highly recommend the spicy shrimp for appetizer. The cream brulee for dessert is also a good choice
Great atmosphere with live music on a Saturday night. Surprisingly they had open seats and no line. The food was good but not as great as the space would make you believe. We shared the food family style, so I got to try quite a few different ones and I recommend the lamb skewer as it was the best option. The bread was also quite tasty. Would go back for the atmosphere.
I was quite disappointed with both the taste and the portion sizes of the appetizers. The calamari was particularly underwhelming. The tarama was acceptable, but the portion was very small. The Anatolian dumplings and Borek were mediocre at best, and some of the warm appetizers arrived at the table already cold, which was disappointing. For the main courses, we ordered Beyti, Lamb shish kebab, and Chicken shish kebab. These were well-prepared, and the portions were reasonable. The main dishes were clearly the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the experience declined again when we moved on to dessert and coffee. The baklava was served straight from the refrigerator, with very little pistachio filling. It lacked syrup and was dry as a result. The profiteroles were also bad. On top of that, the Turkish coffee was not served hot, which was very disappointing. On a positive note, the staff were attentive and friendly throughout the evening.
We went there with a group of eight for dinner. Overall, we found the portions, both the mezes and the main courses, to be quite small. Since it presents itself as a Turkish restaurant, we were surprised that there was no Turkish tea or fruit service. The desserts were disappointing, especially the baklava. Some of our friends ordered Turkish coffee, but it was served almost cold. Personally, I also found the restaurant quite noisy. If you’re looking for a quieter dining experience, I would not recommend it.
The restaurant was a little bit disappointing. The space is interesting knowing that it was a garage space. The interior is busy but nice. The menu has many options but the food was disappointing in terms of taste and portions knowing the cuisine. The traditional chicken skewer was boring and tasteless. The baba ghanouj was ok and the cheese rolls were good. The service was okay but needs attention. Overall disappointing!
Beautiful restaurant, offering a wide selection of Mediterranean food, including appetizers to share. The food could get some extra care and attention. The chicken adana could be seasoned better. We couldn't tell what was in the baba ganoush, other than eggplant, of course. Definitely not an authentic baba ganoush. The zucchini rolls were undercooked and filled with a cheese spread, instead of a feta or similar cheese. The Greek salad was great. The restaurant has potential, but the food needs some improvement for those prices.
The worst Turkish cuisine I’ve ever eaten. And the Turkish food is one of the most delicious things! Babaghanoush is not homemade, it’s from the can/deli store. And you have to order pita bread separately, it doesn’t come with it. Ordered chicken Adana kebab - it came hardly ever warm and raw inside. It was my first time when I had to return the food and ask to cook it till it’s ready to eat. Wine selection is average. $100 bill, and it was total disappointment. The only good thing is the location. Please, the owner of this place, love what you do and love your customers who leave their hard earned money in your restaurant!
