I feel like it is a place manifested from my dreams - a cozy stylish bookstore that offers delicious coffee and croissants and a wonderful selection of wine (finally a place in NYC where I can order a good Bordeaux and read a good book). 10/10. P.S. Oh and I love that the owners are father and a son as I too share a common passion for literature with my own father. It makes me want to support this business even more.

Great addition to SoHo - during the quieter days of the week, vibes are calm - coffee is free flowing - and staff is friendly. Weekends are the most hectic in the space with the incoming foot traffic peering in for a seat in their cozy library.

M
Melissa Pichardo

I went for their Bottles and Board Games event with a friend. We had such a good time. It's a beautiful space. The staff is super attentive and friendly, they made sure we had refills if needed. Obviously the wine was delicious as expected. Definitely a great spot to visit solo, with friends, or as a date night. I definitely plan on returning for some of their other events.

Good wine and cheese selection. Good service. Can get a bit busy and loud for reading closer to dinner time.

Love the concept. Very cosy, great selection of books and not too busy on weekdays. They open at 10 and a few people were already waiting outside, so make sure to on time if you want to have your favorite seat. Tea & Scones were great :) Will be back!

I love this spot, it’s perfect! Been meaning to come since months ago but whenever I passed, it was always so packed. This morning I had a chance to came earlier around the area, so Bibliotheque was on top of my mind! I came around 10:30 AM and there were people but it wasn’t crowded. I ordered the almond croissant to go then I sat at the sofa inside while reading my book. Oooh I love the vibe. The staffs were all friendly. I want to appreciate the playlist that suits for the ambience of the place. Not to forget the interior design that feels classic yet modern in a way. I will definitely come back and will try their coffee next time! Come here not during the busy hours and you’ll love the experience at Bibliotheque!

Love this spot! It’s popular for a reason. The vibe is perfect to hang out with friends or get some work done. No laptops after 5 pm but that’s the perfect time to get a glass of wine anyway!

I love this place! I came to relax and enjoy a coffee. The mocha and breakfast sandwich was perfect. I love the layout and ambience. A great place to do a little work or read a book in the morning

Nice little spot, went there for brunch, beer, coffee and wines were great. Pricing according to Soho area. Would come back again without a doubt

P
Phoebe Brewer

Cute place with very friendly staff and an impressive array of wines with dozens and dozens of glasses/bottles to choose from! I would - without question - come back here for the wine and coffee, but wouldn’t get the food there as I think it’s slightly overpriced for the quality.

N

HOW TO GET IN: you can walk in most of the time. Such a cute wine bar, it has a beautiful space inside and is surrounded by books. I only had coffee but want to come back for wine

E
Erica R.

Amazing place! Their book selection is pretty incredible and the wine, 10/10! I’ll be back soon, it’s perfect for a solo date or a date night. Super warm and cozy

F

Super cute unique place for book lovers. This is a cafe until 5 and you can come with your computer and books. Then it becomes a bar and has a great vibe.

M
Madeline

Amazing bookstore that turns from cafe to wine bar! Very cosy, perfect for reading or writing and they have a good selection of books there. Very clean and tidy bathrooms. Dinner service starts quite early around 4.30pm but until then you can chill on the couches and then need to move upfront to the bar.

R
Rasheeda Eskak-Farrell

Just stopped by to meet a friend, from what I saw there was a lovely bar and a great wine selection! The space is gorgeous and some seating can be shared. Bring headphones if you want to simply sit and read because it gets loud and chatty.

It was my first day going and they had a book opening. It was a cool ambiance and was able to do some study. I enjoyed a glass of wine and was able to view the amazing book selection they had.

S

It’s been popping on my instagram feed for months so decided to check it out. Was a perfect evening for a solo date. I carried a book & enjoyed 2 glasses of wine & a smoked salmon sandwich (light appetizer portion). The sommelier was a friendly and welcoming lady and she shared a book about the wines listed, very unique format! I loved that the music was soft enough for me to enjoy reading & would be perfect even for conversations. I do wish they would offer a cheaper wine by glass option than the $17 range but unfortunately that’s what NY pricing has become now. Will surely go back.

Absolutely loved my evening here! From the beautiful ambience (omg the books) to the great service to the small bites and mocktails (and esp love the veg options) it is now one of my favorite spots and will def be coming back every time I’m in the city. Also really appreciated the hostess looking for a book for my collection. Can’t wait to come back!

Really cool atmosphere, love the decoration and music and the staff were very present and knowledgeable. I recommend this place to everyone who loves literature.

P

I didn’t order food or beverage, but the book selection is great. The atmosphere is amazing. Easy place to make friends. The spot itself is beautiful and the bathroom walls are a great way to explore wine options if you’re new to that.

S

Bibliotheque is an upscale bookstore/coffee shop/cafe by day, and wine bar by night. It’s quiet, yet crowded with most of the tables taken. The latte was great. The London Fog was pretty perfect and the almond croissant incredible. I loved perusing books while waiting for my drink. They also have artwork from the likes of Damien Hirst and Roy Lichtenstein. It’s a great spot.

B

The interior and theme of this place is so elegant and cozy, quiet atmosphere with some background music. Love it! They have a lot of books to read too.

L

I've been wanting to find a cozy reading spot. I had seen Bibliotheque in many insta stories so went to check it out on a Saturday around lunch time. We were able to find seats at the bar, so we read for a bit with wine. I wish we had a chance to lounge in the comfy chairs in the back, where the cool book deco is, but it was still great vibes. I think it might be a great spot for working on your laptop; I felt like the desk/chairs are more for work mode and not cozy reading mode. I would love to revisit during the week and see how it differs.

V
Vicki

Cafe hours are popular but you can make reservations for dinner hours at @bibliothequenyc after 5pm. This bookshop is a cafe in the day and wine bar at night. Not too many books but it’s a nice selection to pick one home. The food and drinks exceeded my expectations too. What a great little gem with nice vibes to catch up with friends. Would love to go back!

e

Great vibes, cozy, and best of all... books! I attended the NYE celebration they hosted which was so much fun, but can't wait to check it out again soon. Seems like the perfect place to escape a cold day.

Absolutely fabulous experience with my best friend and our first time visit to Bibliotheque!! We went midweek for a quick bite to eat before exploring Soho. Such a prime location to escape the hustle/bustle of the city. The location serves lunch and dinner which we’ll have to try soon! If you go there during brunch/lunch hour, try the stuffed croissant! The almond butter paste is so tasty, perfectly balance between sweet and savory!

J

One of my favorite cafes in soho. Great place to come solo or for a date. Vibe is cozy and warm

s

I came after 5pm on a weekend so the main area was closed for dinner service only but that’s was fine since I was there alone to just get a drink and read a book. I was lucky to get a seat at a bar right away. But be warned it is busy during the weekend so you may need to wait for a seat to be available. I really liked the ambience and the staff was super nice! I would definitely come back when in the area.

L
Lesjahn Davis-Bey

Perfect spot to enjoy an elevated brew and your next read. They serve delicious beverages along with an assortment of fresh baked goods. I had a golden latte myself, and it was divine. In the back half of the cafe, they have an impressive library collection, all organized by genre. I think most would be able to find something they were into. There was a lovely staff who helped me retrieve the book I was looking for with ease, as it was up on the top shelf of the bookcase and I wasn't sure they had it, but alas they did! I was able to enjoy it with my coffee at a corner table in a cute little nook. Seating is plenty, but it can get filled up, so if you plan to use your laptop there, I'd come earlier. I was there during the morning and it wasn't greatly busy. I recommend the coffee and the "blind date with a book" selection by the library.

A

This place is unique and charming, perfect for book and wine lovers. My experience with their movie nights was very pleasant and the atmosphere is superb. It’s popular over the weekends and they usually have event during the week so maybe plan your visit or be willing to be a bit in a tight spot. Totally worth it tho.

K
Kat Siljander

vibey bookstore/wine bar lounge. the front is first come first serve at a bar with some high tables and the back is a nice lounge that you need reservations for. cozy and comfy seating. large sections of wines by the bottle (and the menu is all literary themed), starting at $50 and going up to the thousands.

L

Walking through these doors is like walking through the wardrobe in Narnia- you're completely transported to a different world. I somehow spent 3 hours wrapped up in my book accompanied by live music and the best hot chocolate I could ask for! Truly a magical place- but you might have to wait for a spot. For obvious reasons, it gets pretty packed.

L
Linnette Cruz

Honestly, it was a wonderful experience especially for a rainy Monday night. The film was a little sad but definitely one to watch. Enjoyed having conversations with my girlfriend and strangers about the art displayed and books everywhere. I plan to go back for a different event so looking forward to more of the vibes here.

K

What an amazing concept!! Came here for work with my school friends in the afternoon. The orange mocha was so refreshing, and the rose cardamom chai was phenomenal (coming from a South Asian). Service was amazing as well. The pastry selection is also stunning and I will for sure come back for the pastries next time.

Went here on a Monday for a Halloween Movie event. It’s a gorgeous room and cozy atmosphere. The charcuterie board and wine were delicious. Will definitely be coming back even during the day!

N

This is such a cute place. Difficult to find seating since it's so new... we waited over 20mins and had to leave but will def be back and hopefully get to enjoy it fully. Decor is stunning, vibe is on point and food looked good lol cant say how it tasted. Maybe developing seating timing would be helpful or seating arrangements.... just a thought. I will def update once I go back

J

I had a fantastic time! I arrived about an hour before closing and was able to get a table in the back for dinner without a reservation. The back area is stunning, with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with books for sale. The service was excellent, and the wine selection was a pleasant surprise. The Chenin Blanc was my favorite. The menu is largely seafood-focused, but during the day, they offer a café menu with coffee, tea, and pastries—which I’ll definitely be returning for!

M

Lovely atmosphere with a stylish and comfortable space, excellent service, and truly great coffee. Bibliotheque is the perfect spot to relax, work, or catch up with friends — highly recommended!

Recently visited Biblioteque with a few friends on a Monday night, they happened to be hosting one of the movie nights that evening so we sat at the bar. Despite an event happening, there was enough space for the screening and other patrons to enjoy their evening without noise/space restraints. They have a generous wine selection and some small bites, which we enjoyed the cheeseboard. The staff were friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations. Definitely recommend for friend/date night or checking out the range of events they host.

Lovely space! It has became my son’s favourite NYC hangout spot where he can read many books while enjoying delicious croissants and matcha latte, and I can enjoy some quiet reading time over nice coffee and orange wine. A good collection of books, decent latte and pastries, interesting wine list (with a selection of natural wines) - definitely a happy place for both Mommy and kid! Too bad we don’t live in NYC, gonna miss this. See you guys next time!

F
Fabrício Falco

I loved the concept of the place! A library with a cafe. It has a pleasant architecture, you see people drinking wine, chatting, and reading books! That cool, youthful style. Lots of people working there and, thank God, there's a sign saying laptops can only be used until 5pm.The price is above average, the service is fast and blunt! The croissant was nothing special, it was kind of soggy. Luckily, the chocolate, the cookie, and the wine were good! But I missed having more eye-catching savory options in the display! The outside, the street where it's located, doesn't seem like such a cool and cozy place exists, which might deter future visits. It's not fitting.

Bibliotheque: A Cozy Spot for Books, Bites, and Great Drinks If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, drinks, and a love for books, Bibliotheque is it. With shelves packed with over 10,000 books, it’s the kind of spot where you can lose yourself for hours—whether you’re flipping through pages or enjoying their fantastic menu. The tinned food selection is surprisingly impressive, offering something a little different but seriously tasty. Their wine list is massive and well-curated, so there’s something for every palate. And if wine isn’t your thing, their mocktails are top-notch—refreshing, creative, and just as satisfying. What really makes Bibliotheque stand out is the service. The staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly know their stuff. Whether you’re there for a quick drink or a full evening of browsing and snacking, they make sure you feel welcome. Bibliotheque is the perfect spot to unwind, grab a bite, and maybe even find your next favorite book. It’s laid-back, inviting, and definitely worth a visit.

J

As a coffee shop, a quiet and relaxing but work conducive atmosphere (put away all laptops by 5pm!). As a wine bar, great selection of wine and spirits though the food variety is a bit lacking. Great spot in SoHo though.

Y
Yennaedo Balloo

I went here on a Saturday night and even with a full bar the service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for fun conversation with my friend while we split two bottles of wine. The food menu is simple, but so thoughtfully considered. Everything fits together well- each charcuterie item enhances the wines, and the selection of wines is unparalleled. Even if you're not big on wine the beer selection is top tier, and getting to shop for books when tipsy is extremely fun. Will absolutely be going back again and again.

A
Andrea Segarra

Great coffee, nice atmosphere—you can even order a glass of wine. The food was tasty, and I loved that you can grab a good book while you’re there. A perfect little spot to relax.

We had one drink each and spent some time appreciating the cozy environment the bar provides. There was a private movie session happening (pre-booked), which is very interesting. The bar has an events schedule that brings writers, creators and every kind of artist to talk about what they love most. Very cool place to visit!

The coolest place in the neighborhood! Such a discreet place when you walk by, but when you get in it has a cool atmosphere with books wine and pastries, what a combo!

When I first came here, I thought it was just a bookstore and was pleasantly surprised to find a cafe/wine bar inside! Not only does Bibliotheque sport an amazing book collection, inviting you to peruse classics, new and old, but they have an astonishing selection of coffees, teas, and wines to sip on as well. Whenever my friends visit me from out of state and I need a cute, quiet place to catch up, I always think of this spot first.

Had an amazing anniversary night out at Bibliotheque! The ✨️vibes✨️ are captivating, especially if you're a bibliophile. And the cozy ambiance during dinner is ideal for a sophisticated night out. I recommend this unique wine bar to anyone who is a bookstore enthusiast and can thoroughly enjoy delicious wine, cheese and sandwiches. Will visit again soon, when the weather is warmer 🥂♡

I had a really good time here with my friend. We were in the city trying to find a good place to chill and work, that’s when we came across Bibliotheque. I have come here twice after that and it has always been a pleasant experience. Always was able to get my work done here with my cup of tea (I am a tea gal over a coffee gal any day). I have sat at the bar counter and the seating area and both have been very comfortable to work at. Will definitely be visiting more often. Can’t wait to try their wine tasting next.

This place is really about the atmosphere and if you love books it’s where you want to be. But during busy hours, like in the evening, you have to reserve the book area (see photo) in advance. And when it gets busy in the evening, it gets noisy. But overall, it’s a lovely place, where you can have a drink, get something to eat, and shop for books.

Emily Frenkel

This is a perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy good conversations or ambient music surrounded by aesthetic decor. Take a fellow book nerd or two here and explore the library together. You can’t go wrong coming alone either. They specialize in wine and have great small plate options to pair with your beverage of choice.

I’ve always seen ads about Bibliotheque on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, so when my best friend asked me if I wanted to join her to attend a movie night that was being hosted there, I said of course. Immediately upon arrival you’re greeted with a warm atmosphere. The front space is specific to the bar area, but as you make your way to the back, you’re greeted with this room that has several comfy seats and rows upon rows of books that make you feel like you’re in an actual library or bookstore. The staff are welcoming and supportive which made the experience pleasant. I enjoyed the fact that the wine selection is mapped out by themes which help to tell an unwritten story that can vary person to person. I plan on coming back for sure. Glad that I was able to experience it!

This is one of the best cafes to work from in the city. There are plenty of seats at the bar, tables and lounge seating in the back. The atmosphere is fun and inspiring with great music and lively conversation. It’s a bookstore as well and after 5pm turns into a wine bar so it’s a great all day option and will certainly be in my regular rotation.

Bibliotheque is truly a hidden gem in the heart of SoHo. This beautiful café, bookstore, and wine bar effortlessly blends culture, comfort, and charm all in one space. During the day (10-5), it's the perfect spot to sip coffee, browse books, and soak in the serene, thoughtfully curated ambience. After 5 pm, it transforms into an intimate wine bar with an inviting, cozy vibe that feels both elevated and relaxed. The atmosphere is stunning~calm, stylish, and ideal for unwinding or lingering longer than planned. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall warmth of the experience. Their wine selection is excellent, and the charcuterie is delicious and well-paired, making it the perfect place for a quiet evening or a casual meet-up. Books available all day, great wine by night, and a flawless ambience throughout. Bibliothèque is a place you'll want to return to again and again.

Wine, coffee, books — The trifecta. I was here solely for the wine and had a nice Beaujolais and an Australian Chardonnay. Both delicious. The bottle list is insane and their collection of first growth Bordeaux and classic burgundy is unrivaled. Great spot, but keep in mind it will be busy as people use this as an office. Nevertheless, great energy.

Beautiful atmosphere to enjoy good coffee and croissants. The reading room in the back is respectfully quiet with a great selection of books from non fiction biographies to classics to fantasy and everything in between. I kicked back with Nine Stories by JD Salinger and enjoyed my late morning while cheekily eavesdropping on the two strangers at the table over who were discussing their upcoming book publishings 😊 The owners and staff of this cafe have certainly been doing a public service with making this extremely polished and enjoyable little spot so accessible.

I attended a private networking event at Bibliotheque that featured a wine-tasting class, and the experience was very good. The atmosphere and service were great, and the décor was beautiful. It also seems like a nice café during the day. Overall, a solid spot worth checking out.

Such a cute little spot - they put on movies every month where you can order food and drinks throughout. My friend and I went to watch Scream and it was great - thoughtful service, not too touchy but around in case we wanted anything which was perfect for the movie, and amazing ambiance. Good for a date night or just a cute little spot to hang with friends. Already planning which night I will be coming back!

Wow what a fun spot! Aptly went here for a book club dinner and loved every minute. They have an incredible wine selection, unique food options (try the tinned fish, you won’t regret it!), and the loveliest atmosphere being surrounded by books and art. Will definitely be coming back!

I've seen this place on Instagram and wanted to visit while travelling to US. I loved it. It's such a lovely cafe/wine bar with a space to sit down, meet with friends or chill and read a book. I'll definitely pop in again when back in NYC.

I’d tried to visit a few times before but always left because there were no seats, so I finally stopped by with a friend for wine on a weekday afternoon. The service was friendly and the wine was pretty good, but what really stood out to me was the cozy interior filled with books and unique touches, like the quirky clocks with random designs that actually told the time. It all made the place feel even more special.

Adore this place!!! The tables inside are incredible. Foods are also great, go really well with their selection of wines. Definitely willing to go back with my friends. Personally, I think this place shines in the evening time. But they also sell coffee menus, so probably check them out! (Wish I could)

Got an iced mocha. Was quite tasty. Did some work there. The WiFi was easy and stable. Space wasn’t too loud. There were plugs available if you needed them. Only issue is that cell service wasn’t great so it’s not a good place to go if you need that for work.

S
Samantha K

Great spot for a coffee. Would recommend not going on a weekend since it was very busy and i had to wait a long time to sit. I think the business should consider having no laptops on weekends and reservations because a lot of seating was taken up by people with no food/drink but just on laptops and being one person at a table for 4. Coffee and cookie were good and employees were very friendly.

M
Midori Grabowski

Went in at 1:30pm on a Sunday. I ordered the chilled frappato ($17). It was bustling on a Sunday afternoon yet still quiet enough to work. WiFi access for 90 minutes. Laptops allowed from 10-5. Plenty of bar space, comfy couch area in the back. Order at the counter. Quick service once you actually get a chance to order. Stayed for 1.5 hours.

K
Khoi Pham

Cool spot to sit down and have a coffee break. There are two areas: the more coffee-like tables as you enter and then the library-esque space in the back. Both areas were pretty packed. The tea is served in an actual teapot, which was nice. WiFi was reliable.

L

The PM vibes are much nicer than the cafe time vibes i experienced :D the bar tender explained wines so well and the energy was so nice and cozy.

P
Pelin Bozok

In theory, this place is cute and a vibe. Obviously on a Saturday this place was packed and it was difficult to find seating. Would be nice to try this place on a weekday to see if there is a difference. Pictured is the cinnamon sugar roule, an iced vanilla latte, and strawberry matcha.

M
Melanie Royston

The atmosphere of this place is wonderful for a sophisticated book lover, though the food was lackluster. We got the Prosciutto sandwich, which more like a bland ham and cheese with “homemade” potato chips that were basically typical Lays. I will go back to enjoy a nice glass of wine with a book and maybe try another food item to see if there are better options available.

I
Ivy L

Beautiful bookstore bar & as a bibliophile, I love their concept! Also such friendly and lovely staff, and great selection of books Despite my constructive criticism below, I still enjoyed the experience and would come back, but will order a different drink next time 😉 However, 3 improvements that I think will greatly change the experience: -Improve the seating / reservations system. Our group of 4 pm was turned away from the lounge area due to no reservations on a weekend, but there were plenty of empty tables when we left (I don’t know if they were empty when we arrived, but it would’ve been nice if we had the option to move to there if there were cancelled reservations) 2) Terrible mocktail: we got the Phony Negroni and Phony Amaro Falso. They came in beautiful bottles but tasted like disgusting artificial flavouring 😭 the first tasted like artificial Dr Pepper (but worse), the second tasted like cherry medicine cola. We took a few sips and couldn’t continue.. (it was even recommended by a very nice staff member!) For a bookstore bar, why not have a nice mocktail menu for those who just want something fruity/cold to sip on while reading? They had juice but it feels a bit out of place at such an upscale bar Or at least, get bottled mocktails from better brands! I’ve had many tasty ones before They also didn’t have any cocktails, which felt a bit strange for the setting, but I suppose it’s because their focus is on wine 3) better vegetarian food options :) we had the mezze plate which was decent, but very overpriced for a small portion

A definite stop if you are in lower Manhattan! This bookshop/cafe/lounge/restaurant is a unique, immersive experience. Browsing feel approachable rather than pretentious; high-brow sits comfortably next to upmarket and mass market reads. The front café has a lively, buzzy energy that works well for a quick coffee or a casual meet-up, while the back lounge offers a low lit retreat from the bustle of the city. Bibliotheque is a refreshing space to enjoy, especially since it doesn’t try to be just one thing.

Went to Bibliotheque for the first time this week for one of their "Movie Mondays" with some friends. It was such a fun weeknight outing, and the space is so warm and inviting. The team working were pleasant and welcoming, too. The space is perfect for intimate events, and it would also be a great first or second date spot to hit up. They have a fantastic wine menu and food looked good coming out (didn't order food but there was a nice selection on the menu). We would definitely come back for a drink or for another event. The only suggestion is that their movie nights are about $30 per person which covers the screening of the film (and the ambiance) and a 10% discount on your first drink. Given the price of the ticket, it would be nice for there to be either a slightly better discount or maybe a glass of house wine included. While a suggestion, the lack of this in the ticket was not a deterrent! And take my feedback with a grain of salt because going to a movie theatre and purchasing any concessions will basically get you to the same price but with a way less fun atmosphere!

Beautiful place, mostly went for the atmosphere and the books. I think wine, coffee and books are a wonderful combination. The cafe is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff was very kind and sweet. My only problem is that you don't see the prices, their menu only states what you can order not how much you'll pay for it. Also my mum ordered a latte and it was a bit too strong for a latte, tasted more like a cappuccino. Otherwise I can only recommend.

The atmosphere is great but they told us we have to leave the main area because they have dinner service. We sat for about 30min only. I think the best thing maybe will be when someone is buying the barista to tell them that they only have 30min so the person can decide.

Great ambience! Came here early in the morning and didn’t have a problem getting a seat. But it got really busy pretty quickly after I sat down. The latte was great. Almond croissant came out a bit moist on the plate almost like it was heated up in microwave.

I thought this place was extremely nice. They had an event going on so it was extremely packed. My girl friends and I had a glass of wine after having a book club event. It was super cute but a little loud. I definitely want to come back after 5pm and hope there are less people

Delicious charcuterie boards. Enormous selection of wine. I went for the dinner service. They do have a 1.5 time limit at the table - they try to make you leave as soon as possible which is very noticeable. Our waiter brought us a check before asking us, even though I wanted to order more wine.

I visited Bibliotheque in Soho a few times for coffee, and it’s such a gem. Tucked away from the main bustle, it’s a calm escape from the chaos of every. single. store. on Broadway. It can get busy enough that finding a seat is tricky, but going early in the morning is the sweet spot. It’s a great place to study or work on your laptop, or just relax with a coffee and pastry. The coffee is consistently good, and there’s a nice variety of pastries to choose from.

Ambience and bookstore is great but its absolutely ridiculous that they cap you to 90 minutes on the WiFi. No way you can any meaningful work done unless all you were doing was sending a few emails. Great otherwise!

Nice atmosphere with good book selections too. However didn't like the dinner options. There are no cocktails. Only wines and beer. Ad those sandwiches are pretty atrocious.

Sadly the only thing I really love about the place is the Interior. Service was good, but limited we sat at the bar and they called us like at Starbucks :/ Coffee was okay, matcha wasn’t the best but if you really just want to go for the athmosphere or to study (mind that there’s limited seating) than yeah, nice place.

The service was good, the wine was good, I’m knocking off two stars bc the large cheese plate for $54 was laughable. It was the smallest cheapest portioned of a cheese plate I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t serve this to a guest in my home. It looks like they were running out of cheese, jam, mustard and apparently this was two servings of duck and beef… also my friend ordered cod liver and they couldn’t be bothered to take it out of the tin? I get the concept is essentially “girl dinner” but presentation and portions are lackluster and lackadaisical. Also if the large cheese plate is essentially a singular portion then the cod fish should’ve came out at the same time.

May be because it was Black Friday and all SOHO was packed but service was terrible, coffee and food definitely can improve and it was a little pricey. Also… the vibe it’s not as you’d expect; there were too many people and some of them were kind of rude since there is little space to move or sit and staff are not particularly friendly, even the music doesn’t go with the place. Definitely can improve. This is how I was served being sit in the bar.

Space is beautiful but no place to sit, laptops until 5 pm and back room shuts down at 4 pm. head somewhere else to work on your laptop. The oatmilk in their latte also needs an upgrade. 14$ for 2 lattes.

It’s a very upscale library/coffee shop, the food was OK. I ordered the caprice sandwich the bread was little bit too hard and the coffee was regular nothing fancy and a bit pricey as well not worth it compared to other nyc cafes. It is very nice if you are reading a book but not cozy for working or studying I would come back again in general, but it is not as cozy as it shows in the pictures, and the workers needs to be friendlier :)

I wanted to love this place but this place wasnt it. For starters, as soon as you walk in, youre in the bar area, then you walk through to the back where the “library” is at. It almost feels like 2 different places. Right before the library part theres a cashier, i think she checks out the books for sale. But that place was packed so im not sure how one can market the books for sale with people sitting in the way. There was no hostess there to watch how long people were sitting there so we actually didnt have an opportunity to enjoy that seating area. It was sort of like a free for all. I ordered a glass of orange wine. I paid $23 for it then looked up the value of the bottle. $25. Not worth it. Its very soho and ⚪️ vibes. I saw several people walk out bc there was just no where to sit and people were confused as to where to order.

Don’t believe the TikTok hype. Severely overpriced and not as interesting of an experience as it’s promoted especially since the one area people are seeking out is dinner only. No one wants to sip wine and read on a bar stool.

The almond croissant was great. The menu had no prices, neither in the paper nor in the blackboard version. I decided to order the “single origin matcha” which I later discovered to be 12$. That’s a lot even for NYC ceremonial grade matcha, but I’m happy to pay it if it’s good. However, I received a glass of milk with very little matcha, extremely watered down and not even well dissolved. For this price that’s completely unacceptable.

The place is charming, and its library theme is quite appealing. I have no complaints about the establishment’s design; however, the service and food left a lot to be desired. Starting with the coffee, although it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t outstanding either. The almond croissant, on the other hand, tasted like stale bread, so I wouldn’t recommend it. Up to this point, I could give the place four stars, considering its attractive ambiance. However, the main issue was the service. Ten minutes after my arrival, I was informed that they would close that section to turn it into a restaurant and suggested I move to the front. I agreed without problems and moved to start working, which was my main goal. However, less than an hour later, we were told that in 30 minutes we could not use computers in the place. What frustrated me most was the lack of initial communication. There was no signage, nor did the staff inform me of this restriction when I ordered my food. This greatly annoyed me, as my intention was to work, and I couldn’t do so. This inconvenience could have been easily avoided with some signage or notice in the place and on social media.

i normally don’t write bad reviews but really did not have a good experience here. ordered a filter coffee and it was actually undrinkable and really bad. then i wanted to do work here and the wifi only works for 90 minutes.. and then you get timed. i told the baristas and they did not seem to care and i had a meeting soon that i had to miss when there were fully wifis that were available but needed a password. anyways wouldn’t recommend if u need a spot to do work.

UPDATE: We have since been granted a refund. Appreciate their prompt response to address this issue. My friend and I booked tickets for an event on Jan. 26. Despite mutlistate concerns about winter storm fern, Bibliotheque refused to refund our tickets. While I understand not refunding tickets where personal lives come up, I am surprised that a weather event of this level would not result in some wavering on general policies. We also tried calling their phone number to no avail and were rejected a refund on email. Very disappointed.

Came in around 4:30 on Monday. After seeing many social media posts I was excited to try it out, but was highly disappointed in the service. I sat at the bar and was given menus quickly. It went downhill after that. It took The bartender quite awhile to come back to take my order. I got a wine and a grilled cheese. Within two minutes both came out which was great. After that no one checked in. My water sat empty while the male bartender was busy chatting with everyone else but the customers and making lattes for himself. I never got asked how the sandwich was or if I needed anything else. Food was meh- ordered a grilled cheese. For $16 it was Nothing amazing. The Brie was so melted it fell Right out of the sandwich and the part that stayed got hard so fast it was Not enjoyable. Concept of the space is great but it wont Be on my list to return to as the food and service are subpar. I do not recommend if you are looking for a place that has hospitality and great food.

It’s unfortunate that I must write this review for a restaurant that I really wanted to visit. Bookstore with food sounds wonderful! And it should be noted, it is beautiful inside and a wonderfully esthetic environment with the books nicely displayed for you to view. However, my experience was anything but wonderful. We walked in and went directly to the check-in area. We stood there for 12 minutes without so much as an acknowledgment from any of the staff. All while a line formed behind us. During that 12 minutes, the staff—behind the bar and front area were standing around and talking to each other, but avoiding us. At the same time, one of their colleagues was extremely busy running back-and-forth between the kitchen area and the area for dining area. I understand the need to have staff trained in specific areas and that could be the case here, but nothing as simple as a “I can’t seat you, but someone will be with you in a moment” or “hey just give us a few” was offered. Finally we, along with the person behind us walked out. This one is a skip —Odd sister across the street has amazingly friendly staff and a great vibe, I’d suggest you go there until Bibliotheque sorts this issue.

Mika(spelling?), our server was incredibly unpleasant and pretentious. However after seeing the responses to reviews here by the Bibliotheque team, perhaps they simply fit in with the rest of the crew. I take responsibility for making a reservation on a special occasion and expecting quality. Lesson learned. The wine selection is good, however expect sass if you should have questions (loved Myka being rude to my partner when asked for a suggestion). The food is mediocre. The quality is not inline with price. The idea of purchasing a book was completely out the window by the end of a subpar reservation. Pity, as that was the entire initial draw. If you’re looking for your fix of pompous servers this place is it! It’s trendy on social media now, sure, but you have plenty of options for better wine bars, book stores, cafes and even fusions of all three in NYC. Plenty of other reviews mention some great alternatives. Then again you can just bring a book to most bars.
