Opinions de Beetle House NYC New York
This place blew my expectations out of the water. Pretty much every positive review will sum this place up. So I’ll focus on the negatives that had me concerned but were quickly proven wrong. Food is not overpriced it’s actually reasonable considering you’re in NYC (by comparison a place a few blocks over charges $20+ for just a cocktail. Beetle House is charging $55 for an entree and an app). The cocktails here are incredible and definitely don’t skimp on the booze while still maintaining great style and flavor. All in all you DO come for the experience and aesthetic but you definitely aren’t being “fooled” into paying for it if anything you’re getting a great deal for great food, drinks and entertainment. I’m not even a huge fan of the spooky/Halloween scene. I came here with friends because they enjoy it and wanted to try it out. And I had an incredible time. I’d even come back to try more of their menu and see new characters. Couldn’t recommend this place more.
Absolutely loved this place!! Didn't know what to expect & was completely blown away. All the artwork inside is amazing. Staff super friendly & the gents who were doing the live performances - Absolutely nailed characters they were portraying, highlight of my first visit to New York!!
If you love Halloween and Tim Burton films then this is the place for you. It is decorated in memorabilia from most of his movies and features character actors who put on a show and will stop by your table. The food is very expensive but it is delicious and includes the show. The servers were really nice and we got a lot of attention.
I celebrated my 40th birthday here today and I had a fantastic time! From the food to the show to the impeccable service, I'll definitely be back. I want to thank Melody for making my birthday dinner a memorable one. Melody went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy throughout the night. Melody is truly phenomenal and amazing person. Thank you Melody for making tonight so fantastic!
My family and I came here for our sons sweet 16 birthday trip to NYC, and we are very glad we did. The atmosphere was horrifically wonderful and creative, the entertainment was a lot of fun, and the food was delicious! The drinks were fun, scrumptious, and strong. I highly recommend you check this spooky spot out!
The new location is such a better spot for this experience! I love their menu and portions because they are perfectly measured out and just enough after going through all the courses! Yes, it becomes a little pricey, but the whole atmosphere and experience is perfect for celebrating a birthday or anniversary with someone! It’s Disneyland for us “weirdos” who love all things Tim burton! Great drink menu too! (Called Elixirs!) Love the decor and little touches such as the chalk drawn door on the brick wall and the sand worm coming from out of the Ceiling! The mad hatter and jack the pumpkin king were just PHENOMENAL performers and their interaction with guests was spot on! Bravo!
EVERYTHING about this place is fantastic!! To start, our waitress was wonderful. I unfortunately cannot remember her name but she told my fiancé and I she was Dominican and had super cute Kirby designs on her nails. She went above and beyond on her customer service for us and we were so lucky to have her as our waitress!! For starters for those looking to try this place out—expect to drop some cash. You are not only paying for great quality food here, you’re paying for the environment, you’re paying for the experience, and you’re paying for the entertainment. My fiancé and I went when Elvira, Wednesday Addams, and Beetlejuice were performing. All three stayed in character the entire time and were full of energy—no lull throughout their entire performances. The food was spectacular. My fiancé got the Sweeney beef with the Beetle House razor, I got the burger and we both got the appetizer of Jack’s Risotto. Even days later, we are STILL thinking of that risotto. I think for entrees we agreed that the Sweeney beef was the better option. And for those curious, yes, we were able to take the razor through TSA. The metal part of razors themselves are actually removed from the handle by the Beetle House, so it’s basically plastic and a great souvenir. The cocktails are also really cool and some have dry ice in them which created a cool bubbling effect to them. Now the environment—I am a HUGE Tim Burton fan and Halloween fan, and I LOVED the environment. I felt the entrance was a little bit smaller than I expected, but the building itself is so much more than meets the eye. All in all, The Beetle House proved to exceed my expectations and I was so happy to mark it off of my bucket list. Thank you to all of the staff for being so sweet, nonjudgmental, and welcoming to my fiancé and I during our visit!
Silly, fun times! Took my Mom here on a visit to the city. I love the decor, the entertainers were a lot of fun and really into their characters. They all sang and did meet and greet to every customer. We had Beetlejuice, Uncle Fester, and Wednesday. Beetlejuice's tummy was cracking me up. Uncle Fester electrocuted himself and had his light bulb. We enjoyed Wednesday's dance and she sang Beck's Loser in a very entertaining way. My Mom had the chocolate martini. She said it was good, just too much whipped cream filling up the glass. I had the Beetle's Juice made with vodka instead of Tequila. It was perfectly mixed, so I had two! I chose the Boogie's Braised Bacon for my appetizer. It was a small piece of pork belly over grits but it was tasty. My Mom had the jambalaya risotto. There was a small issue that was quickly remedied. For dinner I had the Beetlehouse NYC Burger and fries. It was alright. I wish I had ordered my mom's meal - she had the Sweeney Beef, which was a filet mignon over garlic mashed potatoes. She ordered it medium and it was a bit too medium rare right in the middle, but otherwise, delicious. It has an upcharge, but definitely worth it, it was so good. She had the Just Like Heaven for dessert. It has a lot, a lot of berries. We wanted to get a few shirts as souvenirs, but most of the sizes were sold out, even on the website unfortunately. Also, it is very dark and you must view the menu on your phone. I suggest taking a look before you arrive so you're ready and don't have to do the whole phone menu thing. Overall, we had a lovely time and I look forward to visiting the LA location as well. I definitely recommend going here for something different and fun. Reservations fill up quickly but they do accept walk-ins if there is room. If you can't get a reservation, I suggest going as early as you can. They open at 4pm. We arrived without a reservation (although we were on waitlist) and were quickly seated. The bar only has a few seats. Just make your reservation well in advance as they are not open everyday. The host, our server, the food expediters, and the bussers were all very nice and did a good job as well. Thanks Beetle House!
This place was so much fun! Not only was everything themed, but they do performances periodically as different characters of your favorite Tim Burton movie characters. Food was delicious and the drinks were fun and well balanced. We got the Edward burger hands with scissors (they are >4in and can be flown with). It was delicious and juicy. The Headless Horseman was my favorite drink on the menu that I tried. Would def go back for a fun night!
Everything about this place is awesome! The atmosphere is fantastic! We ordered the bacon appetizer and the Edward Scissorhands burger, extremely juicy and tasteful. The bartenders, Arturo and, I think Dan (the Cali guy), are very friendly and recommended very tasty drinks. We never been to Beetle House before, so they had the perfect recommendations. The Beetle drink was delightful, yum!
If you're a fan of Tim Burton's films... this is the place to visit. The actors never break character, and everyone is made to feel important. The waitresses are attentive, and make sure you don't have any food allergies when taking your order. We ordered two appetizers: Jack's Jumbalaya Risotto and the James And The Giant Peach Salad, followed by the main entree, Sweeney Beef. The main course is themed with functional props! This was a fun experience and we would definitely go again.
Beetle house is by far one of New Yorks best experiences. The actors customize your experience and interact with you individually. Our waitress Amanda was phenomenal from recommendations to service! I will continue to visit any chance we can! Thank you beetleguise & Edward for an awesome show tonight!!
Brought my Halloween loving fiancé and we both loved it. The food was amazing and the decor was awesome. Extremely friendly staff - some of which dress up as Tim Burton characters. It really made for a fun experience as a whole. It's a rather small space so if you're planning on having dinner, definitely go to their website/Yelp and make reservations.
Very cool place! The food, drinks, and atmosphere was great! The staff and the actors were all funny and very friendly. The restaurant is decorated so cool and if you are a fan, you will definitely want to come and check this place out. I went solo, so I had a seat at the bar right when it first opened.
Beetlehouse NYC is so fun! Came with kids 11 and 12 who love Tim Burton movies and it did not disappoint. The performers were spot on and hilarious. Shout out to shrunken head Bob! The decor is great, so much beetle-lore. If you are into themed dining we highly recommend.
This is my second trip to beetle house, and I am so excited that I was able to come back. It is a unique, fantastic, creative place and a tribute to New York and something that everyone should experience at least once. It is so hard to run a successful restaurant in New York City, especially through Covid, so it is speaks a lot as to what kind of place this is. If you were a beetle fan or even if you were not, this is a place you must visit in the village. The food is phenomenal, especially the steak and the drinks are even better. Small children would enjoy it if they’ve watched Beetlejuice and like the characters. So highly recommend. For NYC, the reasonable Price Fix menu is a treat.
Has a great time! The actors were absolutely fantastic and really sick worn the theme💯. It was my daughter's 13 birthday and we were done before the main character but they let us stay until she could see Beetlejuice, so thank you for making her day! The good was good and came out pretty fast and the wake was very attentive. Only have the atmosphere a 4, only because the place is small but they used the space well. Had a great time.
Really cool place. The decorations and atmosphere are spectacular. You're not going to be saying how great your server was upon leaving. Our server was talking care of what looked like 8 or more tables in a small, crowded room. So, she was busy. We all walked in at the same time, at opening, at 4pm. so I got the lack of attention. You're not coming here for the food. However, it was really good. Each plate has its own name and special features. It was a little dark, which makes it hard to really appreciate the artwork and creativity that goes into each plate. But you will get the picture. The drinks before dinner had their own flare and appealing look and taste. You will be talking about your experience with the show while you're dining. Interactive show, taking pictures, and talking to the cast was what we enjoyed. Just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere and artwork on the walls and in the bar area. Have fun. That is what this place is about... Halloween is every day here !!!
Usually gimmicky restaurants are big on personality while the food is an afterthought but not here! I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty most everything was. The meal is pre fixe so everyone gets to choose an appetizer, main and dessert. As far as apps go, the braised bacon, mac & cheese and Nightmare on 6th Street frites were all great. For mains, my group had the Covens Catch (salmon— v tasty) and burgers (great but giant— no one was able to finish) and the scissors sticking out were a fun touch. For desserts we ordered Emily’s Wedding Cake (tied for fave), Pumpkin King Cheesecake (also tied for fave), Death By Chocolate (delicious but rich) and the Dread Pudding (our least fave; the consistency was a lot denser than any bread pudding I’ve ever had). Drinks were fun— all came bubbling & smoking and were thoroughly enjoyed, esp the margarita which was more like a mojito. Entertainment and ambience did not disappoint! The performer playing Beetlejuice was spot on in voice and mannerisms and was a lot of fun to interact with.
As a Tim Burton fan, this restaurant will blow you away! The decor is absolutely incredible, the performances and interactions are on point, the food is delicious and they have a variety of vegan options! Our server Timothy, was amazing, making sure the vegan dishes were okay and answering all questions we had. If you are in NY, this is definitely a place to check out!!!!
We really enjoyed our experience here and it is a whole experience! I had the filet, my spouse had the burger and both of the meals were exquisite. My filet was tender and cooked to a perfect med-rare. Beetlejuice and Lydia characters were funny and engaging. Our server was attentive and personable. It is a bit pricey but you're not only paying for a great 3 course meal but a fun experience. If I lived in NYC, I would be eating here frequently.
So we made reservations a week in advance, recommend doing that, we went this past Saturday for 4pm when they opened, I recommend doing that because it's less busy, but be aware the performers don't start until little after 5pm we thankfully got to see them. We had Elvira and Sweeny Todd perform the night we were there, they did a great job, and you get to take pictures with them for free. All 4 of us loved our food, for a small menu I will say the food was great. I got the burger and it was huge, and the mac and cheese was very creamy and good, as were the drinks! The server told us before we ordered the steak and burger were an upcharge which you don't know the price until you pay. The steak comes with a blade and the burger with scissors which you keep. Get the steak, the blade at least says the restaurants name, the scissors did not. The place is really small, but really cool, I enjoyed the vibe! My only complaint was we did not know that you get charged 18% gratuity on the bill, so be aware of that. Overall definitely a must visit restaurant if your in the area and a Tim Burton fan!
I can’t wait to go back here! I went for the atmosphere but had no idea the food and the entertainment would be amazing as well! The steak was especially delicious and so was Emily’s wedding cake. We had a group of 13 girls celebrating my bachelorette party and the service was really great. They made us feel very special! The Beetlejuice and Edward scissor hands entertainment was such a surprise - I had no idea there would be singing and dancing and it was such a great show! It was fun taking photos with them and Bob as well. Thank you beetlehouse!
This place was awesome. First thing was service; we were a group of six that had to do three separate reservations, but were able to all be seated together. The food was delicious and the 3 course meal was justily priced. The characters however were what truly made the place. The audience participation helped make things stand out. If you ever get a chance to visit do it, you won't be disappointed.
For any Halloween or Tim Burton fan this restaurant is a must. The place is decked out in spooky decor and lighting. The entertainment and interactions with the actors made my night and the food and service was on point. We also brought our kids under 10 here and they loved the actors. We will definitely be back again.
We were a group of 8 Had an amazing time! The food was delicious everyone in our party enjoyed the food and especially the drinks! The entertainment was great!! Edward scissorhands and Jack skellington had us all laughing 😊
I have no idea why this place only got 4.0 stars! Our first time their was last night and the experience was awesome, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was awesome, the characters made you feel like you were actually in the Beetlejuice movie plus out waitress was awesome. I highly recommend this place!
Great place for a Tim Burton’s fan! The decorations are amazing! You will get a lot of good pictures here. There are performances and the actors are all very interactive! If you are looking for a fun spooky experience, this is a perfect choice!
Love love love Tim Burton. This is a great restaurant. When you enter the outside world disappears. It is Halloween everyday. Jack is incredible and has personable conversations with every customer. The fire eater was incredible and very fun as well. Now the food... the food is themed and goes very well with the Tim Burtonesque atmosphere. These gorgeous plates taste even better. My filet was done too perfection and everything was fresh and made with artistic love. The drinks were phenomenal. The customer service was absolutely on point. Our very AWESOME server was great. She took great care of us and made sure everything was beyond exceptional. This was a great experience that I could do over and over again.
I've been here so many times. It's one of my favorite places to go. The performances are SPECTACULAR & the food is equally AMAZING! I went on my birthday this year with my work bestie & we had the best time. The mac & cheese is bomb. The Sweeney beef is delicious & the pumpkin cheese cake I'm still thinking about 4 months later 🤤🤤🤤!!!! They use to have Alice wings and I miss those soooo much!
My friends and I had the best time at Beetle House. The vibes are immaculate as soon as you walk in. The staff stays very much in character and Beetle Juice even took a picture with us in between his sets of singing and entertaining. All food choices are included in the 3 course meal. There are some items that incur an extra expense but those are clearly marked on the menu. Drinks are extra. I got the macaroni appetizer (10/10), the burger (10/10) and the chocolate cake (7/10), I tried my friends bread pudding with ice cream and that was the winner from the desserts. We each had two cocktails and the first round arrived with the dry ice but the second round didn’t. In total we spent $114 each, tip included. Our servers were great, they give you a time limit at the tables (1.5 hours) so they were constantly checking in. Highly recommend a reservation.
We recently celebrated my son's 14th birthday at Beetle House, and it was an incredible experience for kids, teenagers, and adults alike! Nestled in the heart of New York City, this restaurant is a hidden gem that stands out among the many dining options we've explored. The detailed theme of the restaurant is truly impressive, creating an immersive atmosphere that captivated everyone. The entertainers were outstanding, showcasing their acting skills and adding an extra layer of fun to the evening. The pre-fixed menu offers a generous selection of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, featuring fun touches like scissors sticking out of the burgers that perfectly matched the restaurant's theme. Overall, our experience at Beetle House was nothing short of fantastic. It’s the perfect spot for a memorable celebration, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun dining experience in NYC!
I was sooo skeptical about this place. I was wrong. It’s a fun experience and great food. It’s all prefixed and a bit expensive. However, the service was amazing and the actors are great! They are so much fun and come around to tables to talk and take pictures. They perform! Also, you’d be surprised but there are a few vegan options and they are delicious! I wish the dessert was better but the experience and atmosphere make up for it! My omnivore partner loved their food as well!
Spooky songs and food = Such a vibe!! The decor, the performances, the staff and the food made this such an enjoyable experience. You do need to make a reservation on Yelp, and it is a Fixed priced menu with amazing options and plenty of Vegan/Vegetarian options. The staff were absolutely amazing and friendly and the performers made sure to give each table that special love and attention. While it may seem a little pricey the quality of the food is worth it and this helps keep the performances alive. If you are looking for a cool outing with friends or a different vibe for a date, Beetle House is for you. They even sell some of the oddities and decor in the back room.
We fall into a pit of darkness just thinking about this place! We try to go when the doors first open since we aren’t drinkers. The staff always makes us feel deprived and depressed in all the best ways. We went on slasher night and barely got out with our lives! We went in for one baby beetle (virgin drink)…waddled out with a few of these, LaLaurie fries, and death by chocolate! Dan makes the most deplorable drinks and he made our whole night! Claire is a sweetheart with a heart of pitch black! This is a place for all dark souls to gather!
Super cool place to check out ! I went recently and was not disappointed. It is a little pricey but I will say it was worth it. The food was delicious, lots of flavor, mac and cheese was my favorite., the drinks were cool but a little strong for me. I'm so glad we did dinner there , and left full and happy . We saw magician and singing Jack skeleton was cool. The waitress Jeanie was the sweetest and BTW, has an incredible voice if u get her to sing happy birthday. Shout out to the latino man bringing the yummy plates out and cleaning up tables in a fast fashion, guy is quick lol Overall I loved it and the cool decor, I would go back again.
This place was amazing! The singers were very talented and kept in character the whole time! We had a blast checking out the scenery and references throughout the building. The drinks were fun and delicious! Their French fry dishes were amazing, and the burger tasted great. It’s a great environment to hangout with some friends and enjoy a big meal. The prices are on the higher end, but definitely a fun experience!
This was hands down one of the most fun times we had out to dinner!! If you love Tim Burton movies, then this is the place for you! Everyone was SO nice! Food was absolutely great!!! Drinks were amazing! We had the fish bowl and the poison shots !! And you get a show along with the dinner! Highly recommend!!
If you are a big fan of Tim Burton, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and performances. We had Beetlejuice, Bob and Edward Scissorhands as our performers for the night. Beetlejuice was incredible! All performers had charm, wit and were highly entertaining. The service was great! We were greeted at the door and were asked to wait about 15 mins for a table (we didn’t get to reserve; and we went after 8pm). We were entertained by Beetlejuice outside and he gave us great laughs. We only waited about 5 mins til a table was free. Our drink of choice was the Big Fish bowl, delicious! We had the Mac n cheese and lalaurie fries which both delicious! We both got the Sweeney Todd filet mignon and it was great. For dessert we got the death by chocolate and Emily’s wedding cake. Portions are medium to small but filling. It’s a bit pricey but gratuity is included and the performers put on a great show. They love taking pictures with you as well. We had a blast! Highly recommend!
It was my first time going & I absolutely loved it! The food, the atmosphere, the decor, the entertainment & our waitress was amazing! I definitely will return when I visit nyc again. Thank you for the wonderful memories that will stick with me forever ❤️
We arrived about an hour early coming from Pa the traffic wasn't as bad as anticipated. Staff was very friendly and entertaining. There were several live performances. Food was delicious and the drinks very interesting.
The service was amazing, the actors were amazing, it felt so personal and special. The food was pretty good but it was more the art of it than actual taste. The dessert and drinks were so worth the price tho. Just a great night as a Tim Burton fan.
I thought I had left a review but i guess i didn't! I went here last year for my 31st birthday my boyfriend surprised me after months of me wanting to come visit. I'm originally from NYC but live hours away. I loved the decor and the vibe of it all, our hostess was so sweet and attentive and acknowledged it was our first time there so she helped all she could. The food aside from the grits that day were delicious, well cooked and the performances were great and loved getting a good laugh along with enjoying the music in between just getting to enjoy the atmosphere. I was surprised they also sing you happy birthday, my boyfriend had mentioned it when we were ordering and to have the performers sing with the rest of the staff was a cute experience for this goth birthday girl <3
We came for the experience and it didn't disappoint. Food is also great and plentiful. The fixed menu for 65 dollars (+automatic 18%) sounds like a lot but you really get a lot of food for that (we were full with the starters and then got burgers and cake at the end). Keep in mind drinks are not included. Performers were also great, Beetleguise is like the original. Great jokes, interaction with guests and awesome songs every 30 minutes. Edwards Scissorhands was equally great and entertaining. We didn't have a reservation but they seated us almost immediately
This place is a scary good time! The atmosphere is amazing, the food was really, really tasty. It's prix fixed so choose an app and an entree and dessert. The mac n cheese so gooey and tasty, the bacon also delicious. For entree we had the steak and the hamburger. Both incredibly tasty, with a blade and a scissor souvenirs decorating the food. But Beetlejuice is the real star of the show. This guy was amazing. His voice was perfect and he has all the lines from the movie down pat. Bob was great too with very expressive hands and timely mumbles. Overall this makes for a unique fun vibe to bring out of town guests, or simply a different kind of night out. We ended with a conga line wick for the whole restaurant involved! Good times
My wife loved her Salmon but I did not like my burger the patty itself was bland and the bun soggy. The appetizers and dessert were great though. We loved the performers and definitely put a lot if passion in their roles. We especially loved Jack the Pumpkin king and Edward Scissor hands.
So much fun. Ive wanted to go here forever and finally did and it was epic. You go in they have a 3 course dinner for a certain price. Their are lil mini shows where characters sing. Kids are welcome. There is so much to see. If you are a tim burton fan at all, just go. You will LOVE it
this is every horror / tim burton lovers dream! 🪲🧃🖤 i would really like to thank the staff for their service and kindness. i was solo traveling new york city and stopped by this place, even though i was alone, the bar and the costume staff were very friendly! the drinks are so creative and delicious aswell.
So much fun! The atmosphere is the best part! If you are a Halloween fan or know someone who is, this is the place to visit!!!! It is a straight up $65:per person for a 3 course meal plus drinks with appetizer, meal and dessert, so plan on $100 per person. Live entertainment with Beetlejuice, Meghan and Bob. It is more of a bar atmosphere and Beetlejuice can get raunchy, but we had a lot of children visiting when we were there, so he kept it clean
My boyfriend and I had the best experience ever here at Beetle House. The atmosphere, performances, and food were perfect. I had the Cheshire Mac & cheese, the Sweeney Todd steak, the pumpkin cheesecake and two pumpkin espresso martinis ALL DELICIOUS! Beetlejuice himself had us giggling and even Bob was there! Our waitress Claire was so sweet! If you’re looking for a fun place to go to eat and have a good time…obviously go here! We can’t wait to come back again next time we’re in the city! :) First time best time!
Dark and loud but plenty of fun and the food was delicious. You won't go away hungry. The risotto app and burger were really good. No one is my family had a bad meal and we tried most of the menu. The show and ambiance are on point. Beetlejuice/Halloween fans should not miss this place.
This was a must go to the minute I knew was going to NYC for a convention. Immediately made reservations for a party of five and they accommodated six for a Saturday at 545 pm reservation. The ambiance had me at hello, 100% Halloween and Tim Burton themed. Loved the small bar area with the iconic sand worm! Everything screamed Halloween! The pre booking for dining area is a three course meal and interaction with Tim Burton characters and show. Between the six of our guests appetizers ranged from Chester Mac & Cheese, Frites & Frights Fries and Jack's Jambalaya Risotto. We all loved the apps! Dinners ranged from Edward Burger, Butchers Bolognese, and Sweeney Beef. All delish Sweeney Beef cooked perfectly to order and loved the jambalaya! The drinks were fun, I shared the fish bowl that was predominantly coconut rum flavored which is not my favorite, the server provided extra pineapple juice to balance. The other table favorite was chocolate chocolate martini which was a hit! Great service throughout the meal. The entertainment was provided by three actors which was sporadic at table and circulating throughout restaurant and bar with some small performances for all. Beetlejuice, BoB, and Edward Sciccorhands, for a Saturday I thought maybe another character or two would have been appropriate for a packed house. Desert was also delightful, the majority had Emily's wedding cake which was raspberry tart and a light delight, and death by chocolate which the rich deep chocolate speaks for itself! I think we ended up around $115 per person plus tip. 90 minutes of fabulous fun and Tim Burton Halloween! I will definitely return my daughter is dying to go! Love to visit LA location as well! Beetlejuice was very perturbed I was there to bring his dead skin back to life! Visiting for International Esthetic and Spa Conference!
Bills Mafia are always welcome. The owner is an amazing host and knows what his customers need . The custom drinks are worth the drive from wherever you're coming from. Just the best experience at a bar you can expect. Entertainment. Food and good people. The ambiance and art is also a must see . Don't miss the opportunity to make memories at this spot .
Great experience! Loved the food and live performances, but since the bathrooms are dark they kinda stink of piss so be careful. Everything my sister & I ate was perfect except the dessert. Her cake was dry and my food wasn’t anything special. Overall I would recommend especially if you love the esthetic!
Love, love, love!!! Reservations are needed, but well worth it because of limited seating (walk-ins are welcome for bar seating, which could be limited). The restaurant was small and cozy with a Gothic twist (Tim Burton style). They have a preset menu for $60 app, dinner, and dessert (different spooky options to choose from) !! Dinner was delicious, drinks were even better, and the entertainment was great!! 10/10 recommend, and if I ever come back to NYC, I would definitely come again!!
Lots of fun! Food was delicious. Entertainment was very enjoyable. They gave us a private show at our table.

The prix fixe menu is 65 dollars. Apps include braised bacon, Mac & cheese, smothered fries, bruschetta, jambalaya, and more. Entrees: burgers, filet mignon, a veggie burger, salmon, meat bolognese, …
Went to beetle house on my sister's b-day 1 year and then we back on my b-day in 2021. Love a Tim Burton based restaurant with spooky decorations.
Excellent service. wait staff was great! Beetlejuice characters were super interactive

The food was good and the performers made it a great experience for my girlfriend on her birthday!

what an amazing bar and AMAZING staff! we had such a good time the other night, we only drank at the bar but was fab! my daughter even got a free drink for her 21st, thank you!
I found this place to take our daughter for her 15th birthday dinner as we are a family that loves spooky things. She was wearing an Evanescence t-shirt and the "entertainers" ended up singing on…
Fantastic service amazing time. The kids had the best time and can't wait to go back in September. Dinner and a show. Just a great great time.

Party of 6. If you're looking for dinner & entertainment for 2 or the family, then this is for you. You can expect anywhere from 1 or 2 to 7 characters from any of Tim Burton's movies to appear!! Almost everyone ordered something different. FOOD: Some of us gave a thumbs 👍 👌 and 👎 I particularly enjoyed my entree Deetz no Meatz(Beyond burger) w/fries. I think I would have chosen a salad if offered. It's a bit pricey for the 55.$- 65.$ (lock in-which only includes apptzr & entree). DRINKS: If you like to sip, they have a number of crafted concoctions (they offer moctails for the kiddos, too!). I suggest you(adult) buy and drink at the bar to enjoy the drink in its entirety!! Having gone before and only visiting the bar, the drinks are dope!!! By the time they hit the dinner table, it has lost much of its character effects, which, for me, is what makes the drink more fun(just lay off of the sweet syrup, y'all put too much of it in the drink- therefore, ruining the drink)!!! There were about 7 characters that evening from BEETLEJUICE. Overall, the family enjoyed the evening!! You should go check it out!!!
Good food. Great looking place. I tried their Sweeney steak, a piece of their vegan burger, Mac and cheese and it was all good and their scallion duck fries too. I liked their Oreo peanut butter dessert better than the chocolate raspberry thing I got. Thankfully I was able to switch desserts with the bf. I won’t get it again. The place is small but hey it’s New York! Also they did a good job. Other than that. I love the decorations and themed foods. I won’t lie I was a little bummed I didn’t see Beetle Juice but I got to see Edward Scissorhands and took pics! Nice staff. I would recommend adding a chicken Parmesan to the menu and maybe another dessert but I recommend this place! I would go again. I went to NYC from Massachusetts and can’t wait to go again. Remember to make reservations it’s $40 each person. It’s what I did and we only waited ten minutes.
Have been going to the beetle house for years for Halloween dinner. The food this past year was so so good tasty and fresh with lots of flavors . The drinks are creative and yummy . Love the atmosphere it oozes Halloween and spooky. The staff are very welcoming and make the experience so much more enjoyable.
I enjoyed the overall experience at Beetle House and a couple of the staff were absolutely lovely, couldn't do too much for us. The guy delivering the food and bussing the tables was the complete opposite however. Felt like we were a real inconvenience to him. I'm glad I've visited and the majority of the staff and the performers were great but I think it's a one and done for us
Enjoyed our time. Food was delicious. I got the Oogie's Braised Bacon appetizer, YUM! Then Sweeney Beef, delicious! Staff was great, the atmosphere was awesome. Smaller inside then originally thought, so kinda felt squished in. Prices were abit more than was expecting as well. But definitely glad we went. Just probably not for a second time.
The bar is fully Halloween themed and is absolutely amazing and they had a performer. She was amazing crack jokes with us. They had a chocolate margarita drink that was phenomenal. I definitely recommend anyone to go there. Definitely a good vibe if you're into Halloween theme. The service was great they cater to you and make sure you're happy from top till you leave
Beetle House NYC is definitely a unique spot if you’re a fan of Tim Burton’s movies. The atmosphere is dark, moody, and full of gothic decor, with costumed staff interacting with guests—it really feels like stepping into a Burton film. It’s fun and immersive, but it can be a bit overwhelming for younger kids. The food is hit or miss. I tried the “Edward Burger Hands” and a themed cocktail. The burger was creative and fun, but honestly, the quality is inconsistent—some dishes seem rushed. There are vegan options too, which is nice. Service also varies depending on your server. Some staff are really friendly and bring the theme to life, while others seem a bit distracted, which can affect the experience. Overall, Beetle House is worth a visit if you want something quirky and theatrical in the East Village. It’s not the best for a traditional meal, but the themed experience makes it memorable.
If Tim Burton and a fever dream had a love child, it would be Beetle House. My girlfriend and I—two diehard Beetlejuice fans with birthdays one day apart (and, coincidentally, the movie came out on my birthday—flex)—decided to celebrate here. Best. Decision. Ever. The vibe? Perfectly creepy and deliciously weird. The entertainment? Like Broadway took a shot of espresso and decided to haunt a bar. The Cheshire Mac & Cheese, The Coven’s Catch, and Edward Burger Hands were all so good I briefly forgot I’m mortal. And somehow, after all that, we still made room for the Death by Chocolate Cake, which lived up to its name and then some. If you’re a Beetlejuice fan—or just someone who enjoys great food, dark humor, and a solid reason to wear too much eyeliner—this place is your afterlife destination. Bravo, Beetle House. Bravo.
A unique restaurant to enjoy Tim Burton’s work and spooky things. Good place for families and groups. The service - our waiter and the characters - were great. The characters (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Wednesday) interacted with the patrons and performed throughout the whole night. The decorations were so fun and nice throwbacks to my childhood. Meal was pre-fixed, good, and very filling. Come ready to eat and be entertained!
Food is correct for a French taste, good if compared to NY standards. One bad thing is the 90 min timeout you're informed when you come. You must order, eat and .... in 90 minutes : better skip the wee - wee!
A delightfully bananas place, Halloween/Tim Burton themed year-round which is quite fun! Be wary that their non-alcoholic drinks are massive, so it will be very easy for your alcohol-drinking friends to lap you. Neon and black lights, wild decor, and alternative music make this place a unique change of pace for many NYC attitudes. Easy location to get to, close to many fun restaurants and clubs, it's a great spot to have a Halloween-style evening, even in July!

Good experience. The show is cool and fun. The characters involve everyone in the restaurant, especially the children. Actors do a great job singing and dancing and making the people laugh. Food was decent . Macaroni and cheese appetizer was very good. The only downside of my experience is that the restaurant is extremely small. They use every space available to fit everyone. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out. Make reservations, it fills up rather quickly.
3.5 stars. Atmosphere was amazing and the live performers were a pleasant surprise. However, the service was not great. They barely checked on us, good luck getting a second drink, and I had to go find them after 30 minutes to get our dessert ordered. This is the service you'd expect when it's guaranteed gratuity. I always tip 20% anyways, but since it's automatic ig they feel like they don't have to do as much. I had the Jacks Jambalaya Risotto, Sweeney Beef, and Dread pudding which were all delicious, but I ordered no onions on my beef and they sent it out with no onions, but also no mushrooms and peppers, so that was a bummer. It was late so I just ate it, but whatever. I also had the Coco Skellington cocktail. They were also out of 4 different dishes that night. Food would have been 5 stars if they hadn't messed up my beef toppings; beef was cooked to perfection!
The atmosphere here is really cool! The decor feels spooky and nostalgic. The food, however, is not it! The presentation is beautiful, but the flavor profile is overpowering and just not good. From the website, I was expecting it to be a bit more of an experience with live performances, but it was very lackluster. Stop in for a drink but not a meal.

Grandson wanted to experience this Tim Burton themed restaurant so I indulged him. He enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. Food really quite good, but 2 beers & a 3 course meal at £75 is ridiculous
The blond hostess with curly hair was extremely rude and initially told us we couldnt sit at the bar. We left and watched another couple walk in with no problem and sit at the bar which had 4 empty seats. We walked in again and she was not at the front at this time and we easily sat at the bar. We over heard her speaking to guest disrespectfully and even witnessed her going back and forth with someone. The decor was cool but she completely ruined our night. Not worth it at all.
Way over priced for food thats really not that good .. steak was oily and no flavor, the risotto had 3 slivers of sausage, & the worst part is they had no To-go cups .. I paid $27 for a drink and had to throw it away . I won't be returning.. but Edward scissor hand was fun lol
This place is ridiculously priced. I can't believe for pork belly and grits, beef bolognese and a drink I paid $121.00. Yes that is including a 20% tip. You are told ahead of time it's $55.00 for an app and entree. The food was great but the bathroom was disgusting, lighting I feel like is covering how dirty the place is because all the floors were sticky. Keep in mind before going, there's an up charge for the charterers show. It's an experience for sure. But for the place being tiny and what charge, not worth the hype. Since I can't reply to the owners comment back, I will say...our table did not get complimentary deserts, or drinks. Like I said, bacon grits, Bolognese and the fish bowl drink. Expect a big bill is all I'm saying. If you just want pictures, just sit at the bar. 😁
The atmosphere and recreated characters were the best part of this restaurant. The food is mediocre and portioned very small. Not very welcoming at all; didn’t even know my servers name or bartender. I had this place on my bucket list for about 4 years and I am truly disappointed by the customer service. The space is very small and please make a reservation. If not they immediately seat you at the bar and pay you no mind and you don’t feel part of the entertainment. Very hard to book reservations btw. Also no non- alcoholic beverages.
If you enjoy Tim Burton movies than you will like this place. It’s fun, “It’s Halloween all year round” definitely describes this place. After having a couple of cocktails at dinner we went here for some more drinks. Drink menu look great and the presentation is awesome with the dry ice which makes the drinks bubble and smoke, which is cool. Truth is the drinks are pretty bad to say the least, too sugary and not appealing. In our group of 5 not a single one of us finished our drinks. We also ordered fries and they were fine but nothing to write home about. All in all my group (several of them big Tim Burton fans) all agreed coming here was a real let down and the worst place we ate or drank at on our trip. Go if you love Tim Burton and enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere, but do your taste buds, stomach and wallet a favor and just order a beer and ask them if they’ll add some dry ice to it, I wish I did. Also, the reviews about the added gratuity is true, 18% is added automatically, regardless of party size. When cashing out they don’t really bring it up, and if you pay in cash they still ask if you’d like change back. So just keep an eye out for that.
Couple things rub me the wrong way.. first off, the place is tiny, hard to move around and a few nice decorations, but not enough to make a trip way down there to see. We were hoping for moving, talking things on the wall. Two people came by as entertainers and the magician just ignored our table. Second they force you to buy a $65 price fixe meal. Not cool. No coffee. How do you not have coffee??! And finally they sneak the tip in the final price on the check and if you weren't looking, their pay at the table system asks if you want to add a tip of several different percentages. So I can see people not paying attention tipping TWICE. NOT COOL!! Kids menu is $25!! Seriously..?? Food was very good. Overall, 1 adult, 2 kids, zero drinks and one eating off the kids menu, I stopped over $200. Sorry not worth it.. I took my two kids there

Booked a 10pm reservation. Was told to wait for our table to be cleaned. 30 mins later I approached the host to be told there is no tables and the kitchen is closed. But was never told to put in any order before it closes. Now my card will be charged for a reservation that was never marked I was there for because they never checked me in even though I’ve been at the bar for over 30 mins waiting for my table. First time going and definitely wasn’t a great experience.
Beetle House was a very big letdown. The whole experience felt rushed. The food was mediocre at best. The mac and cheese was flavorless, and the burger wasn’t good. The steak was the only decent part of the meal. The drinks were just okay but weak, and the espresso martini tasted very milky. You’d think that if the place is called Beetle House, Beetlejuice would be a main character or there would be some standout entertainment but it all felt half-hearted and unorganized. I see that the owner likes to leave snarky comments on reviews, but I’d really suggest taking people’s feedback seriously after so many one-star reviews. This place used to be the spot to go for Halloween, but it’s definitely lost its spark.
Really not worth a visit. Food was mediocre at best. We had the max and cheese and peach salad to start, both of which were quite good but portions were small. We then had the spaghetti bolognese and burger were both bland and lacklustre. The portion were well sized but the actual food was worth maybe $25 dollars. Would not recommend. Chocolate cake rich but very dry, would benefit from some ice cream as an addition to make it actually edible… We left feeling the food needed some flavour added desperately, and could have benefitted from being themed by more than just their names. Not entirely sure what was deadly about the chocolate cake other than the lack of moisture. Also not sure what the other reviews mean by experience. The diner is decorated with a few ‘spooky’ pictures and the odd statue or ornament but it was really disappointing compared to expectations. It was not cohesive and very much seemed like the owner had gone to the dollar store and found items on sale. Not worth a trip solely for the decoration. The entertainment was boring and the singing somewhat pitchy. One of our party had not seen the Wednesday show so did not understand who the characters were. The characters themselves performed for maybe 10 minutes out of our allotted 90. If you’re after performance/experience whilst you then you’re better off going to Ellen’s Stardust Diner. The food is better and more cost effective, and the singing and overall vibe more enjoyable. Atmosphere also terrible. We booked around 17.00 as it was fully booked at all other times that day, but for the most part there was only our party and another couple for most of the evening. Staff were friendly and attentive, albeit in a rush to get us to leave. Gave us the bill and got us to pay midway through eating dessert, which was somewhat of a distraction. Overall not worth a visit. With drinks and tax cost over $80 each. Complete rip off. So definitely worth going if you want to feel like you’ve wasted your time and money.
