The food was better than expected and it has a really good atmosphere, made us felt like we were at carnival and eating that kind of food which is a great feeling. I definitely want to go back try what else they have to offer because they’re so many interesting options!

The fried chicken here is amazing! The powder coating is unique and flavorful. The sides too are nice and the prices are a bit high but in line with the rest of NYC.

Been coming here for years, very solid casual spot for fried chicken. I’ve done the sandwiches and last night I did a leg & thigh combo. The chicken is crispy and the sauces make a nice companion. One last thing… the FRIES! They are crispy, thin and perfectly salted. I’ve had a bunch of mediocre fries with my meals recently, and these were so tasty, I devoured them. I’m always down for popping into BRFC when I’m in need of some casual food before a night of getting drinks with friends.

All I wanted was a chicken breast. Just craved one. So they delivered it. It was perfect. Crunchy, seasoned, juicy. And A BREAST NOT NUGGETS. I love this place.

After seeing a video on Facebook, i knew i had to come here! By far the best fried chicken that I've had. The chicken sandwiches are deliciously and cooked to perfection, and i am absolutely in love with the chicken tenders. Extremely tasty, juicy and cooked just right. Also do yourself a favor and get the fries fully loaded! absolutely delicious! They offer boylan sodas as beverages and also some beer options. The cashiers are very friendly and patient as you give your order. The seating area is medium sized, especially when the place is busy, so if youre going in a large group a recommend someone start looking for seats as soon as you enter.

Finally checked this place out after some FIT friends recommended it to me 6-7 years ago, and it lived up to their praise. The chicken is crunchy on the outside and juicy inside, more of the “fried chicken”-type than “wings”-type. It’s more expensive than what I’m used to paying for fried chicken, esp since they sell per piece/type, but I think the quality is well worth the money. Shared a chicken tender, chicken wing, and biscuit as a mid-day snack and we gulfed the food down so quickly that I only have this picture to show oops. Odd note but the ordering interface in-store is better than most UIs for apps on my phone LOL.

I came in expecting solid fried chicken, but the chicken smash burger completely blew me away; juicy, flavorful, and perfectly crispy on the edges. It’s honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. The mac and cheese was another standout. Super creamy with just the right amount of smokiness ;rich without being too heavy. Everything was made fresh and packed with flavor. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

Great place for some burger, fries and Mac and cheese. It’s a must visit for NY trips. Burger is fairly big and side has a good serving. It’s will get you full very fast.

I had a four piece mix. Wow that is an impressively well-seasoned fried chicken, very glad I had it! It comes with too many (calorically speaking) fries. The wasabi honey sauce is unique so I liked that. The other sauces (eg BBQ, ranch, hot sauce) mostly taste typical, although it's unique to have so many honey options. I thought the fries and coleslaw are slightly above average.

Chicken gobbler thanksgiving sandwich was exquisite. Takes a while to make so best to use the APP than ordering in store. The flavor was amazing — stuffing, mashed potatoes, chicken and cranberry sauce all inside a brioche bun. They should sell this sandwich year round it’s so tasty. Creative!!! I’ve been walking by this place for years because the outside looks so visually unappealing. Today I walked in and was shocked that my chicken sandwich was so crispy and delicious. Chicken was juicy and the fries were perfect. I also ordered a milkshake that tasted so creamy and perfect. I spent about $25 which is kinda pricy for a meal that you order at a register. But all and all the food was great.

$10 for a small box of chicken nuggets seemed kinda pricey. But the chicken was really good. Really good. When i asked the cashier for the code to the bathroom he gave me a robotic reply of "it's on the bottom of the receipt."

I had the 2 piece combo with fries. I also had a chicken tender, and mac n cheese. I love the fried chicken and the mac n cheese. The chicken breast was juicy and not dry. The fries and tender were good. The cole slaw was okay. There's plenty of seating. I ordered at the kiosk. You could just fill up on the combo, but if you want more stuff it gets expensive.

Great fried chicken.....meat and crust were well seasoned....the crust was crispy but not too dry.... and mac and cheese was smokey and creamy......I am happy.....I'm gonna sleep good tonight.

I came with my boyfriend as he wanted to try from seeing it off Instagram. I was actually amazed. Food was ready quickly and the chicken dogs tasted great. I also ordered the Mac and cheese it was nice and hot and had a little extra flavor. The dogs appear small but i feel there filling also the price is reasonable enough to get two if not .

The chicken was moist and succulent, cooked to perfection The Misses and I had the limited edition chicken burger that came with bacon and mac and cheese-pretty wild combo-and it was delicious. Sauce offerings were plentiful and the sweet potato fries had the right amount of salt and crisp-no easy feat. Now if you can come out with a Nashville hot chicken type sandwich AND throw in the mac and cheese and bacon, now we'll be really talking ;). Please make it happen one day and let me know, so I can be back in New York to try it.

Got the bbq chicken bowl with Mac & cheese. Amazing quality chicken, flavorful and nice chicken pull. Mac & cheese was flavored with BBQ, and had a great texture. Fries were amazing as well, thin and crispy. 5/5 would come back again.

Fantastic fried chicken sandwiches - we got the special ‘gobbler’ way bigger than I expected and was extremely full after. When I searched google around east village.I found this place for 2400+ reviews 👀. And one of that said this place is best fried chicken in NYC. I thought why?…fried chicken that almost same so I went there for my suspect.How?!?! Absolutely yes!!🥹 and fried also great too don’t miss out.I was try when I fully belly.Next time I be there I will order several things more.😋

Tasty tasty tasty! We came here 3 times in the last 5 days because it’s really good. A bit pricey but the portions are generous enough for us to eat together from one dish having chances to try a second dish too. The toilets are clean and secure. The ambience is pretty cool, good music, enough of space and the staff is really cool. I’ve haven’t saw it crowded. Tables have an industrial aesthetic and the sealing is high giving an industrial loft vibe.

So, I’ve been coming here for quite some time and don’t have anything negative to say. Great chicken with a great variety of choices. Some can say the fries are, somewhat, you can call “sexy fries”. Skinny and crispy with some added saltiness. I always consume their chicken sandwiches and their chicken dogs. I am a huge hotdog lover so I’m glad they have that as a choice. The flavoring is top notch. Not too much but also not too little (I hate it when not enough sauce is provided). You need that sauce. It’s a perfect lunch spot; a quick grab and go. In all my experiences, probably talking about 20+, I’ve had one questionable experience with one chicken sandwich that the chicken seemed “old”, as in taste wise. Could’ve been an off day so I let it slide. One thing I would suggest, please add a reward program. Otherwise, definitely a go to spot for my daily lunches.

The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy—not dry at all. The coating was super flaky, flavorful, and not greasy, which made each bite even better. I ordered the dark meat combo ($12.95), which came with two thighs, two drumsticks, fries, and coleslaw—a great deal for the price.

I always drive by this place and never went in. I was in the mood for a chicken sandwich and came across this establishment. When you get inside, there is a self service kiosk, place your order and get a number and wait for your food. Everything looks good and I got the chicken sandwich and fries. So good and would def go again!

Was looking for a place to eat and also charge my phone to look for directions to get home and I was glad the smell of good chicken led me here. Staff were friendly and provided quick service. I ordered a chicken sandwich, some habanero buffalo sauce, and some extra pickles (and they did not disappoint). Pickles in every bite and more on the side for me to put on the sandwich. Sauce was flavorful and had some nice spice to it. I also ordered a Nutella milkshake and staff was kind to ask which cup I’d prefer it in with the whip cream. Honestly probably one of the best Nutella milkshakes I’ve ever had. I was walking to my train and sipping thinking “damn, this is a good milkshake.” Definitely will come back to this place when I’m in the area. Lots of seating area and the place was very clean. And in terms of my phone, they let me know there was only one outlet by the bathroom. Stood there for maybe 5-10 minutes total and it charged enough pretty quick.

I love going here for my lunch break or picking up dinner on the way home. It’s great to grab a seat at the window and people watch. I am obsessed with their mashed potatoes but they are sold out a lot which makes me sad, understandable tho! All the chicken is excellent and the people who work here are so kind and friendly.

Salad maybe a little over priced since no meat. I really liked the bbq sauce too. Not great if you want healthier options though.

My daughter and I split one chicken breast which was absolutely gigantic - a downright Chickenzilla. It was absolutely delicious and more than enough for the two of us, without any sides. The place was clean and I liked the amenities. But what really stood out was Sharon - super friendly woman who took our order and asked if we liked the chicken afterwards. In a city where you kind of expect people to snap at you or be gruff, what a delightful change to be served by such a nice woman!

When the chicken is so good I look up the history and the story of the Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken owners and there formula. This was our 2nd visit in a week. My visiting SC Aunt really enjoyed her Greek Salad. She talked how fresh her lettuce was and the dressing was tasty I ordered me a salad on our 2nd trip. I went with Ceasar Salad my next visit I will get a side of Vinaigrette to mix with my ceasar. We both went with Chicken Breast & wing combo and skinny french fries. And we took our leftover home to go and I air fried warmed our food and we both bust it down.

Alex and the manager are 2 of the most considerate people that I have met in this industry. I seldom come because I just moved. However, they, both at different times have shown too many of service in a restaurant. The manager always greets me. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know my name but always recognize me and increase me when I enter, Alex is behind the counter on the line. And always is fair and considerate , even when he is telling you not to take free soda . This place has no issues at all and is the most beautiful and delicious fried chicken in nyc, me and my family almost never leave review’s unless we really taste the Best of the best. We have gone here so many times, the chicken so juicy yet tender, and the best crispy fries we have ever tasted. Definitely worth the price for how filling it is. Absolutely delicious & perhaps one of the best fried chicken I have ever had. There was a staff member that was adorable & she means business! CA not wait to get fatter here cause is well worth it. This place has not changed much since the last time I was here 8 years ago. I enjoyed the seasoning and flavors of their spicy fried chicken. I missed out on their habanero sauce because they were either out or no longer had it. Unfortunately the chicken tasted a bit old and overcooked but the fries were delicious. Nostalgic!

Having eaten there twice now, this place is a real one of a kind. There aren't many fried chicken spots that aren't KFC, Kennedy's, or Popeye's here in the city, but this is one of them that shines bright with creativity, flair, and variety. Their menu is quite varied, and they have signature sandwiches along with the normal chicken options sold (2 thighs; drumsticks; wings and breast etc.). What truly makes BRFC stand out, though, is the sauce. The fried chicken itself is good enough. Nothing spectacular. But the Wasabi honey, Chipotle honey, habanero sauce... They have some quality toppings. Nothing too spicy, but the flavor is good. Their sides are pretty good. Fries are shoestring a la McDonald's (meh), and if you're a real fan of fries, I'd look elsewhere. One chicken sandwich I had as takeaway, in the bag for 20 minutes heading home, turned out to be quite gamey and a bit squishy. It wasn't undercooked (no pink, no illness), but it took some chewing and biting to get it down. That was weird... But not a lost cause! It's definitely worth a meal, family friendly, serve beer (apparently to go as well), and I recommend it.

Fried chicken there is good, not amazing. The sandwich of the month is the Panino Supremo which is 2 pieces of fried chicken with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, and it's delicious!

Loved this place. Hunted it down when I was over from London for a few days. Nice staff, not overly busy. Had the standard chicken burger 🍔 and small smoked mac n cheese. Both were so so good will go back and also head to the Brasserie version of this place. Well recommended.

I really have mixed but overall positive feelings about the food. The cole slaw was good, the bbq sauce was nice and tangy, and the fries were crispy. But the chicken itself was just so thick. It comes off underseasoned and really relying on the sauce because you get this super thin coating over a thick piece of chicken breast, so you end up with just a mouth full of cooked chicken breast and that's it. If instead of 3 tenders they offered 6 and just cut them in half thinner that would be much better.

This is an alright fried chicken place. I came here on a weekend night when the place was mostly quiet. They give me a lot of food for a decent price. They didn't give a lot of barbecue sauce though. The breasts ended up being a bit dry, so if I came back I'd probably stick to drumsticks only.

This is a great takeout with friendly staff. I enjoyed the meal - the chicken was fried to perfection, the condiments were flavorful and the salad was made from fresh veggies. I found the pricing to be on the steep side.

The food was amazing, and you didn’t have to wait as long as I thought. I got Tender, smoked Mac & cheese, loaded fries, & bbq bites. The tenders have a great spicy red pepper seasoning on it. The chicken was well cooked and hot. Ranch dressing was a little watery, but that’s a personal note. Loaded fries were good I recommend getting a small if it’s just yourself. The bbq bites became my favorite. Nice juicy bbq sauce that go surprisingly well with their smoked Mac & cheese. THE FOOD WAS A 5 THE SERVICE WAS A 4 They have a front for house waitress, but does not take your order. They did a very great job, guiding me through the steps. With positive energy - I don’t like having to punch in my order on a POS system if I’m not on the clock. We go out to eat instead of eating at home for service. Using my brain like that felt like I worked for that order. - I think if they changed that it would be all good.

Good but not amazing chicken sandwich. I had the hot and sweet which was a nice combo of honey and chipotle. And the fries were really good - thin and very crispy. They do have a lot of interesting options on the menu, like chicken fried hotdogs so will probably return.

My Experience there was really great. The server was a really funny and down to earth guy. While waiting for our food they played really great music that i haven't heard in awhile. It gets crowded pretty quickly. We went for lunch and had spicy chicken tenders w/sweet potato fries, pulled chicken sandwich w/coleslaw and pickles. The Mac and cheese was a hit. Unfortunately their Shake machine was not working, and they had no Turkey burgers. I really, really wanted their Nutella shake. It's their most popular one. Will definitely be going back. Tip. Try the many sauces that they offer you won't be disappointed.

I will give you an honest review. The chicken is tasty. Is it expensive? Hell yeah! $4 for a drumstick?? And $4 for a wing?? $6.50 for a small mashed potato?? I cannot drink their fountain sodas! Get a diet Coke or something from a bodega before you come in. Their own sodas are so sweet that I can handle just a handful of sips. On the receipt that I am attaching is at least what you need to eat for a lunch. J am a slim guy and eat average. So the meal will cost you about $30 if you are not a big eater. If it had the regular soft drinks I would give this place 4.5 stars, if the prices were 20% below it would receive a 5 star. Now I rate it 3.8.

The food is really good! I ordered the blue ribbon signature burger with fries and I definitely recommend it.The fries are pretty thin like noodles but they taste great. And the sauce choices are alright. I like barbecue sauce on it's own, the other sauces taste werid to me.

Got the love bird special sandwich. It was pretty good. The wasabi honey was a great sauce to go with the sandwich. It has a light truffle flavor and sweet potato fries in the sandwich.

The crispy fried dough was excellent! The meat juicy and tender. You know they know how to fry their chicken. However, this place lacked flavour. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and it wasn’t spicy at all, but bland. Besides, the cheese on top of the fries were a solid brick on top on some super greasy fries. Maybe it was the delivery experience.

The chicken was great but the breast was pretty dry. This chicken maybe was a little bit too seasoned but overall it’s a place I would go back to. Their fries are ok but by the time I got to the fries they were already not at their peak because they make the really skinny fries and those need to be eaten almost immediately. I’d suggest getting anything but the breast since the other pieces were juicy.

The batter is a tad thick but very tasty. The spicy chicken sandwhich is def above average by nothing mind blowing. Will visit again for sure!

To start off this place is really aesthetically pleasing in how the food looks. I got me a strawberry milkshake, boneless fried chicken, and Mac & cheese. The milkshake was basic I’d prefer Shake shack. The chicken was good it was sauced up and crispy. This Mac & cheese is not my preferred style but it tasted okay and went well with the ranch. Exterior wise I'm unsure why there is only one usable entrance when the building has two access points on different streets. The place itself is decorated nicely. The menu is easy to read and understand for a first time visitor. Staff were nice and pleasant to have a transaction with. Buffalo bites were coated nicely, I wish there was a bit more crunch and heat to them. I'd come back and get the regular bites with a hot sauce on the side. The chicken itself had a great taste and was juicy. The quality of their poultry is excellent. I believe this is where the higher price may come from. Sweet potato fries were just as you'd expect them to be if you made them from scratch at home, that's a huge plus. Vanilla milk shake was what you would expect it to taste like. There was nothing special about it. I'll return to try their chicken sandwiches and other items, one major reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is pricing. For the price I paid, you could go to KFC or Popeyes which is near by and feed an entire family with fried chicken and sides. Is it fair to compare it to a big fast food chain? Not entirely, but when you think of bringing multiple people with you, you start to get conscious of the bill.

A very lively and cheerful spot! I found the chicken to be dry and lacking any seasoning. It was also hot and very satisfyingly crunchy though! The fries are very delicate and thin so they weren't necessarily crispy, but were quite tasty. The service was fast and friendly and the food was fresh...just a bit bland for me. But I would go again. 😁 I would recommend a visit to Blue Ribbon!

Experience here was decent but a few misses that couldn't be ignored but I'll get to that gradually. Coming up here, I could easily smell the chicken being prepared from this establishment and it had me eager to enter the establishment. The moment I came in I was greeted by the woman behind the ordering section so service is definitely a high mark for she was very accommodating with me setting up my order. Wait time wasn't overly long, I'd say about 7 minutes it took for my food to reach the table. I ordered the Tender Supreme Combo which came with fries, Cole slaw and a drink and a chicken Smashburger. I went with the chicken burger first and I know these can be an acquired taste but I can safely say I truly acquired how good that burger was. Compliments to the chef. Now onto the combo. The shoestring fries they had, not bad but I've certainly had better and they put a lot of them on my plate, I didn't care much to finish it all. I didn't touch the cole slaw because I've never been a fan of it so that leaves the tenders which were sublime! Just incredible. The sides here maybe average but the chicken is definitely solid, tender and juicy with the right amount of breading, wish I could say the same for the Chipotle Honey dip I chose with it. It wasn't terrible but jt didn't mesh well with the tenders, I prolly should've went with ranch. They also have a selection of their own kinds of fountain drinks. I tried out the creme sods and it was also very good. I've always been a fan of original drinks as opposed to the regular stuff that they easily could've had so the fact they went this extra mile for their drinks is great. As for the place in general, it's pretty big. Not enormous but plenty enough of seating and it wasn't too crowded so I was able to eat in with comfort.

I've been going to BRFC for over a decade. It's definitely worth going to in the east village, although the fried chicken is not as good now as it used to be, and the portion sizes can vary from order to order. Still, a great spot for fried chicken before a night out on the town.

Stumbled upon this spot while walking around the East Village. Their chicken has special seasoning (maybe cajun?). It adds some kick to the usual fried chicken. I got chicken thigh and drumstick. The meat is super juicy and tender. Sweet potato fries are also delish.

Chicken was good, hot and fresh. The fries were an afterthought. Fries must have been cooked and been sitting for some time under a hot lamp because they just weren’t fresh and it was easy to taste. Very little human interaction inside the store, you order at a kiosk. Overall, I would eat the chicken again but instead of fries as a side I’d go with Mac and cheese.

If the prices were a bit lower, this would be 5 stars for sure. This is some of the best chicken I’ve had in NYC or maybe anywhere, and I travel the country often. We got the 4 piece meal and added on a small side of Mac and cheese and a couple drinks and it was $37. Nice open design inside with plenty of seating and the staff was friendly enough. This chicken had great flavor and a great crunch. The white meat chicken was still nearly as juicy as you’d expect a thigh to be. Literally the only thing I didn’t love about this chicken was the cost. The fries were shoestring style which isn’t normally my favorite cut, but these were good. The Mac and cheese was very good. This had a blend of cheeses that was a bit foreign to me past the smoked Gouda up front, but it was very tasty. I’ll absolutely go back, just needs to be on a payday haha. Blue ribbon fried chicken - Didn’t Suck!

As of now, I've only tried the classic sandwich, just a normal chicken sandwich with pickle and special sauce (mayo, in their case). It wasn't the best I've had but not bad either. The fries, idk tastes great but it was all smashed together. Atmosphere was great. Server who gave me my food was also great and friendly. It was really pricy, though, for one person.

I come here often for lunch as I work close by. They recently redid the eating area and made it more open and spacious. They have a fountain machine for refills with fun cream soda flavors. The service can be hit and miss. Most of the time, there are almost no one in line and the cashier is nowhere to be found. I would have to wait a few minutes before someone came to take my order. I ordered the fried chicken bowl with mac and cheese. The bowl was huge and very filling. I was able to get two servings out of it. The mac and cheese was heavy and very filling. It was a bit greasy but, overall tasty. The fried chicken was tasty and well seasoned. I was bit disappointed that it wasn't chicken breast but chicken thigh meat. I would have rather chicken breast as it was better.

It was cool I guess. Average. The Spicy Ghost Chicken was super spicy. Hard to finish the entire bowl. Taste buds almost can’t savor the chicken anymore Mac n Cheese was subpar, had an artificial taste.

Good service, okay food. The spicy chipotle is quite spicy indeed. We ordered three chicken tenders to go. Sadly nothing special. Need more taste. Quite crowded. I think they have 10% discount for NYU students.

It was less than ok. I thought the chicken would be amazing but once you pass the skin, the chicken has no flavor. I would've given a 4 but the person upfront forgot to let them know to exclude the pickles on my Classic Dog and also forgot to include my hot sauce in the order. Save money and just go to Popeye's since it's the same deal once you pass the skin.

Decent food. Half the items on the menu weren’t available when I went. Ordering was slow. The food was decent. Soft bun on the burgers and crispy chicken. The Buffalo sauce was a bit too spicy and tangy but not terrible on the sandwich. The fries were decent similar taste to potato stix chips.

I normally order the fried chicken sandwich and Mac which is good but yesterday I ordered nuggets bowl which comes with Mac & the meat was gross it was not white meat it was dark and barely had any chicken for me to eat from it was just all breaded. Took the meal to go. Fast & friendly service Place looked clean. Decent chicken sandwich. Not the best not the worst. Paid $16 for their Sandwich of the Month. It was nothing special. Was not in the mood to cook on Sunday. Just wanted to enjoy great food, and watch a game of football! It was suggested I try Blue Ribbon, passed by many times. Figured it was now or never. The order included a hot & sweet chicken sandwich which I was told by a relative was good. The vanilla milkshake was blah, would not order again. Tender supreme was okay. The Mac & Cheese features smoked Gouda cheese which is okay, not something I would run to order again. The 4 piece chicken, was split between 2 people. The chicken was good, crispy, and the biscuits are okay. Ordered the $1 wings they were okay, mine were soggy.. Special thanks to Dulce for making the visit special, a real gem to the restaurant, and customers. It's worth giving a try. Tip: If you want crispy wings order with the sauce on the side, especially if it's a take out order. Otherwise your wings will be soggy!

This place is nice. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars because the pricing was a little high. The fries could’ve been bigger for $6.50. The buffalo sandwich could’ve had lettuce and tomatoes. I also got the vanilla milkshake with oreos on the top, (extra $1.00 charge) they should’ve crushed the oreos up. Overall this place is pretty good, just a few tweaks needed. I would recommend.

Customer service was very good from two different women, until later I needed to ask for the bathroom code and the older guy at the counter snapped at me; "iT's oN ThE REcEipT!" I order chicken today with my kids. It took them over 30 minutes to prepare, which I understand it happens. What happened afterwards was unbelievable. The gentleman that prepares the order which seemed like the person in charge this was so rude and obnoxious it was unbelievable. It seemed like it was our fault. He did not only not apologize or say it took so long which we would totally fine with, he said had an attitude towards us. On top of everything my kids were excited and starving and noticed that was even more rude. I hope the management can speak with him and let know that is not the way to treat a loyal customer that lived a few blocks away and is a bi-weekly customer.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. When I first called Blue Ribbon for help with my order, the employee I spoke to was completely unhelpful. Then, when my order finally arrived, it was completely wrong. My order totaled $17, but I received someone else’s order that was over $70 — nothing I had ordered at all. I felt terrible for the people whose food I received. On top of that, the food was ice cold, so cold it felt like it had never been cooked or had been sitting out forever. I did get my money back, but that doesn’t change the fact that I was left hungry, and I know the people who actually ordered $70 worth of food were probably just as upset. Honestly, they would have asked for a refund too if they had received this food. Extremely disappointing service and a serious drop in quality. Do not order from here.
