I was honored to be one of the first to enjoy the new vegan tasting menu and DEAR LORD it was great. The non-alcoholic pairings were fabulous too. Everyone working there was lovely, they made me feel like a million bucks. This restaurant is good for the body and soul. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Great dining experience. It’s like laid back but upscale at the same time? No nonsense or pretense but just great food and cool people. Loved everyone there. Food’s amazing. I liked the wagyu more than the duck. I don’t like steak tartare but I LOVED the one here. Oh and the bread and butter?!? SO GOOD

Service was exceptional, with attentive and knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere was really enjoyable, warm and inviting. The food... I mean what can I even say. From start to finish a delightful meal. We got the tasting menu (omnivore) and wine pairing and I can't recommend the experience enough. Such a great meal, and even some delicious chocolate bonbon at the end which was unexpected!

The Musket Room is not to be missed! My partner and I came for a birthday-engagement celebration and it was truly a divine experience. We opted for the Omnivore tasting menu, which changes regularly. However, no matter what day you go, the menu is unparalleled. Highlights from tonight included the most impeccably cooked venison. I also want to spotlight the team who served us. Vanessa and Charles are the best in the biz. Their timing was perfect, their service unmatched. They also went out of their ways to ensure the experience was unforgettable. We’re already planning our next visit. The ambience is also welcoming, elegant, and provides the perfect amount of space. I highly recommend the Musket Room for your next special occasion. Thank you to Vanessa, Charles, and the rest of the Musket Room team for a wonderful birthday dinner. Percy (and Conner) PS: the espresso martini is A+

We recently visited The Musket Room and had an unforgettable experience. We tried the Chef’s Tasting – Artist Series (Fall 2025) Vegan Menu, and every course was outstanding. The flavors were beautifully balanced, the presentation was stunning, and the creativity behind each dish truly shined. From the truffle tartlet to the parsnip course, each plate was thoughtful, unique, and absolutely delicious. The only element we didn’t love was the sourdough, which we found a bit too hard to bite—but everything else more than made up for it. The service was warm, attentive, and made the evening even more special. We truly appreciated how accommodating the team was and how seamless the entire experience felt. Highly recommend The Musket Room to anyone looking for an elevated, plant-based dining experience. We can’t wait to return!

My husband took me to Musket Room for our anniversary, and the whole evening felt like slipping into a secret world. The restaurant sits on my favorite street ,peaceful, a little romantic, the kind of block that makes you walk slower. Musket Room itself is so discreet from the outside you could mistake it for someone’s private studio. I love that. It already feels like you’re being let in. Inside, the space unfolds into two calm dining rooms that look straight out of Scandinavia: warm woods, soft lighting, chairs carved with the kind of intention you feel before you notice. We had a corner table, quietly tucked away, basically the “VIP of intimacy.” You can see outside through the little windows which are very cozy and special. And along the wall, bottles of wine arranged almost like sculptures, a simple but thoughtful installation. The music is also very good, the service is fantastic, they have almost every different waiter for each dish, makes us feel very special. And then I learned the menu was inspired by a local artist. Suddenly everything made sense — the colors, the shapes, the way every plate had the confidence of a small canvas. No wonder the dishes looked like little artworks. They weren’t just cooked; they were curated. The cocktails are also very delicious, cherry on the top! Now let’s talk about the main characters! House-made Sourdough & Anchovy Butter A warm sculpture of a loaf, spiked like a mountain range. The anchovy butter melted like salted silk. Honestly, museum-worthy carbohydrates. Æbleskiver with Truffle A tiny golden sphere wearing a delicate truffle “painting.” One bite, but it gave big fairytale energy. Razor Clam with Potato, Leek & Sourdough Presented in a soft white bowl like a minimalist artwork. Subtle, clean, almost Japanese in spirit like tasting the memory of the ocean. Beets with Huckleberry, Caviar & Amaranth This one looked like a neon-purple mosaic. Vivid, textured, playful. Pure art plate. Jamón Ibérico with Mussels, Potato & Saffron Layers of color and texture. The saffron yellow against the pale ham felt like a gentle watercolor. Potato Gnocchi with Chanterelles, Pistachio & Sorrel Woodland tones. Greens, golds, browns. Eating this felt like being inside a forest painting. Scallop with Squash, Lime & Tamarind The scallop was bronzed like it had been seared under gallery lights. The squash added this glowing orange brushstroke. A beautiful contrast of colors. Lamb Shoulder with Black Garlic, Maitake & Cabbage Rich, dark, dramatic. The charred cabbage petals looked like a charcoal sketch. By the end, the whole experience felt like a quiet European escape disguised as dinner: Scandinavian design, French warmth, Japanese precision, New York creativity. And all wrapped inside a menu shaped by a local artist, which explains why each dish came out like a tiny edible artwork. A perfect anniversary , intimate, low-key, beautifully designed, and curated just for us, you can feel you had a little getaway to Europe somewhere but yet without leaving Nolita! My husband impressed me once again! 💖💖💖

The Musket Room continues to be one of our favorite spots in NYC! Three of us had the omnivore tasting menu and one had dietary restrictions, which the team handled with so much care. They even mixed and matched dishes to make sure everything worked, which made the experience stress-free. Jake, our server, was incredible — knowledgeable, attentive, and always ready to point me in the right (and safe) direction. Every course was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. This was our 7th year coming here during our annual NYC trip, and the food and service are consistently exceptional. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Didn’t expect to enjoy this meal so much—especially after having what I considered the best meal of my life just the day before. Yet somehow, most dishes here carried a distinct point of view. Not just well-executed, but with a sense of personality I hadn’t quite experienced before. The first thing I loved was the warm, house-made sourdough boule with anchovy butter. I’ve had anchovy butter in pasta plenty of times, but never like this. Simply paired with bread fresh from the oven. The sour tang of the boule played against the anchovy’s deep umami and faint funk in a way that was both rustic and elegant. Then the steak tartare with kumquat, mint, and Aleppo pepper. Tartare is rarely the course that catches me off guard, but this one was different. Zesty citrus from the kumquat, fragrant freshness from the mint, and a gentle heat from Aleppo pepper oil—all framing the tender, subtly seasoned beef. Kristal Caviar with artichoke & egg yolk was a bold move pairing caviar with just vegetables, but it worked. The sharp, tangy quality of the artichoke married well with the salty richness of the Kristal caviar. Unexpectedly balanced with egg yolk adding a touch of creaminess. One of the evening’s most satisfying bites came from a supplement: jamón Ibérico with smoked mussels, potato, and saffron. The jamón had a unique appearance, almost like a delicate, furry jerky, possibly due to mold from the aging process. But the flavor was incredibly layered (likely a result of 12 years of curing). It paired beautifully with the silky potato purée, and while not the most mind-blowing dish of the evening, it was the most satisfying. The lamb course was obviously perfectly cooked, but the highlight was the spring onion purée infused with black garlic. It delivered an intense umami note that quickly settled into a garlicky sweetness. Well-rounded and comforting. Glad I didn’t spring for the wagyu upgrade. The finale was Birch Custard with Mostarda, Sourdough & Fermented Blueberry. Not sure I picked up strong birch earthiness, but the custard had a rich, thick texture and a restrained sweetness. Classic pairing with fermented blueberries, which added tartness and depth.

Tucked away in Nolita, just steps from the subway, this restaurant is an absolute gem. The vibe is chill and casual, yet perfect for special occasions or simply trying something new with friends, a date, or your partner. The music is at just the right volume and the thoughtful spacing between tables adds a sense of privacy that’s hard to find in the city. The menu offers both omnivore and vegan options, with a variety of dishes bursting with unique and wonderful flavors I had never experienced before. Truly an exquisite and innovative combination of ingredients. My personal favorite was the Kristal Caviar with Artichoke & Egg Yolk — an absolute masterpiece! With a well-deserved Michelin star, this place lives up to the hype. Huge thanks to our server, Jake M, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely lovely — he really went above and beyond to make our night special. Highly recommend, and definitely a place I’ll be returning to!

Tucked behind sleek, glass-framed doors, The Musket Room offers a serene escape from the lively Nolita streets. The interior strikes a harmonious balance between rustic charm and modern elegance, with Danish-style chairs, industrial lighting, and midcentury modern furnishings that create a cozy, lived-in atmosphere. The service is effortlessly attentive—approachable yet well-informed—adding to the warm and welcoming ambiance. Under the guidance of Chef Mary Attea, the kitchen turns out dishes that are as thoughtful as they are inventive. Guests can choose between an omnivore or vegan tasting menu, or select from a flexible range of à la carte offerings. The tasting menu often showcases creative flavor combinations, such as German potatoes paired with razor clams and sourdough breadcrumbs in a rich clam chowder broth, or coarsely ground grits accompanied by savory red-eye gravy, tart huckleberries, and smoky pork jowl. Whether you're seeking a refined dining experience or a more casual evening of shared plates, The Musket Room delivers with grace, flavor, and thoughtful detail.

I don’t really know where to even start to describe how AMAZING our dinner here was!! We had the most lovely date-night - we both got the omnivore tasting menu ($125) with the wine pairing. Every dish was incredibly flavoured, well-balanced, creative and… well, just fun! Our absolute favorite was the egg yolk with artichoke and caviar - I still dream about this dish 🤤 the wine-pairing was immaculate, with fun wines from all around the world. You could really tell that the - very talented!- sommelier put a lot of thought and love into these combinations. All other service was also very attentive and super friendly. Thank you for making this evening at the Musket Room an absolute unforgettable highlight of our NYC trip 💛🏙️

Absolutely phenomenal culinary experience. And the staff were gracious and accommodating since one person in our party was very late. I ordered an old fashioned- delicious. And we had the omnivore tasting menu - every single dish was mind blowing. We had someone who helped with pairing 2 wines with some dishes and it was divine. If you’re thinking about it just make the reservation and go. My girlfriends and I had an amazing night with some of the best food ever.

There’s nothing 4 stars or below about this restaurant. The food is absolutely gorgeous and the taste 100% matches with the presentation. What I love most is the creativity behind the ingredients combination that brings brand new flavors and texture that are so hard to describe because I’ve never had anything like that before! It’s truly one of a kind. The tasting menu has the perfect number of courses that makes me feel satisfied but not stuffed, the perfect taste of healthiness.

The Musket Room was fantastic and I highly recommend it. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it definitely earns that Michelin star. They made it such a special evening for us, celebrating our anniversary. It was easy to switch a few items to the vegan menu too, which was also awesome. My favorite dish was the squash from the vegan tasting menu. Impeccable service, great wine, and a couple of pairing cocktails they added in. The atmosphere feels like a cozy, neighborhood spot and not stuffy at all.

A wonderful spot that provides a fantastic Vegan tasting menu and an omnivore option for those who are not of the same palate. This is a review of the tasting menu for Omnivore $145 and iberico pork supplement for $18 (4/5) Honestly, the white asparagus ALONE could have made this place a 5/5 because those are some phenomenal veggies. Texture, plating, and each bite being a new surprise was an EXPERIENCE. Service is on-point, they always made sure we were okay and refilled accordingly even without being asked. Exquisite Service for sure. (5/5) Other than that this is probably one of the best Vegetarian tasting menus that a person can get as Musket Room is making strides. A point taken down because the casual atmosphere brought some really loud guest that took away from appreciating the environment or food as a nice date spot. Some of the food also did not really hit like the halibut or potato cauliflower. Can't say I was the biggest fan of them. If you do get the garden (It is a rule that you MUST be punctual, it would be an EASY 5/5. It looks beautiful and most likely out of the way from all the noise) The Musket room is absolutely worth the visit for Vegans specifically and for those willing to give Vegan tasting menus a try as the Omnivore gives you the best of both worlds. P.S. The bathroom is great. No complaints. It is very clean and you honestly feel rude messing it up.

The service is excellent. I had the omnivore tasting menu and a few cocktails. I must say that the drinks were very good and boozy (which i like). Most of the food was great, the bread with anchovy butter was surprisingly delicious, as well as the ricotta dessert. However, some items, like the beet tartar and the scallops, were not memorable. The atmosphere is nice, i did not feel rushed or cramped. Overall its a 4.5/5

Had an amazing meal at The Musket Room in NYC! Every dish was thoughtful and full of flavor. Loved the cozy atmosphere too. My favorite part was def the dessert!

The few vegan dishes on the menu were very well thought out. I appreciated the creativity, especially with the kelp-based caviar and the cauliflower dish that cleverly mimicked the texture and flavor of tuna—both were excellent. However, the omnivore options didn’t quite meet my expectations, particularly the pork jaws. On a positive note, the sommelier was fantastic and provided some great wine recommendations.

Great Michelin star restaurant experience but not because of the food. Atmosphere was very nice, cute and simple decorations for a nice time. It was a bit dark for photos though which is not a problem. Service was one of the best I've ever experienced. The staff was very professional, patient and polite. We had a tasting menu which was a 6 course meal with an upgrade to the Wagyu beef. Overall most of the dishes were on the salty end. I had to order the old fashioned to reset my palate after every course. Couple of dishes were not my favorite but there were some great ones in our selection. FYI veggies tasted better than proteins for the most part.

Really wanted to love this place since it’s been on my go to list for a few years. All in, we spent $235 (NO BOOZE) and left hungry. I know this is a tasting menu establishment, but if you go à la carte, please don’t charge $28 for a tasting menu (tiny) portion appetizer. Give a larger portion or lower the price. And give a side veg if we order a fish for two $100. Our server, who performed and sounded like Andrew Zimmern, was the best part of the visit.

Ugh. So when we booked this we were under the impression they still had a Michelin star and I started questioning that distinction shortly after the meal started to the point I googled it halfway through the meal to find out they lost it and I can see why. The food was hit or miss. The amuse bouche (mushroom arancini like bite) was tasty but forgettable. The beets were topped with Kristal caviar, once again tasty but not blowing me away. The bread with sardine butter was fantastic- no notes! The razor clam chowder was tasty but very heavily salted, any more and would have been erring on the side of inedible. The scallop with curry was the star of the meal- absolutely fab. The venison was dry, the puree on the side was bland. The dessert was OK but had no textural contrast leaving it very one noted. Service wise was super disjointed, we had at least 5 people serving us (as often happens at fine dining establishments) however there didn’t seem to be an established flow and multiple mistakes were made. We ordered a cocktail to start to share and they waited to start the tasting until this was brought to the table/drank? Meaning we didn’t get a speck of food until 45 minutes into our reservation. We had dirty glasses or plates sitting on the table for extended amounts of time. We did the wine tasting and had wine poured into a dirty glass. We had the wrong main plated in front of us (meaning the wine pairings were incorrect). There were only two tea options and somehow they managed to give us the wrong one? Overall felt a lot of the staff was well meaning but green and require more training. Overall would loved to have seen this place in its glory days but unfortunately it seems to have had a fall from grace. For a nearly $600 dinner the value just isn’t there.

We came with high expectations and were solely disappointed. The highlights of the evening were the drinks and the laid back ambience. We appreciated that the noise level was moderate for New York City standards and we could actually hear each other. The food was mediocre. The main person in charge of our table was great but we could not understand the server who was explaining each course and ended up asking him to repeat himself into they finally sent someone else who had the same issue. The first course with the truffle was the best The lamb was dry and the dessert lacked flavor. Everything in between is a blur. It definitely wasn't worth the hype or the price.

Disappointed by The Musket Room – Not the Special Experience We Hoped For We dined at The Musket Room for a special occasion, hoping for a memorable meal, but unfortunately, we left questioning our choice. Opting for the omnivore tasting menu with cocktails, the evening had a promising start but ultimately fell flat. Let’s start with the positives—service was excellent, and everyone was warm and welcoming. The cocktails, Messina Sour and Panda Station, were both delicious and well-crafted. Among the food, the caviar and pork jowl stood out as the highlight of the meal. However, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. The sourdough bread was great, but the anchovy butter was divisive—definitely an acquired taste. The tuna tasted no better than what you’d find in a supermarket, and the clams were laughably small—barely two on the plate if you were lucky. The duck and steak were fine but entirely forgettable, and the wagyu—at a steep $30 upcharge—was far from worth it. The biggest disappointment, though, was the dessert. The texture was reminiscent of a stale marshmallow Peep, and the flavor was even worse. We took one bite and couldn’t bring ourselves to finish it. Overall, we truly wanted to love this meal, but aside from a few bright spots, it missed the mark for a special night out. We left feeling underwhelmed and wishing we had chosen differently.
