Overall, the tasting menu is excellent. The Kristal Caviar was out of this world and the star of the show. The squab and pork dishes were cooked perfectly. Cocktails were well-balanced and tasty. The jerk ice cream was an interesting twist.

We came from Montreal to experience the Musket room and chef Mary’s cuisine. Every ounce lived up to expectations. The service, the food, the wine. Every dish was better than the last. I would recommend 100x over

I've come here a few times over the years and have always had such an incredible experience. It is so lovely to come back and see that it's just as wonderful and unique as it was years ago. The staff is impeccable as well. All around fantastic experience, can't wait to come back again!

I wish I was back in NYC dining at this little piece of a perfection in Soho. I loved everything about my recent dining experience at the Musket Room. As a solo diner I made a reservation, but opted to sit at the bar. From the moment I sat down, I was well taken care and expertly guided thru the food and wine menu. The bartender was delightful and he must have read my mind because his suggestions were flawless. He guided me to the Jamon Iberico with smoked mussels to start and I would have licked the plate if no one was watching. I then had the duck which someone described as life changing and I definitely agree. I let the staff choose my wine pairings and they were all exceptional. The restaurant is intimate, inviting and a well deserved Michelin Star.

FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. Chef was detail oriented and purposeful with every ingredient. Highly recommend this experience PS my friend is vegan and they offer a fully vegan menu, which was why we chose here and hers was outstanding. The offer both omnivore and vegan tasting menus.

Had the tasting menu plus wine - all the dishes were delicious, everything well prepared and served, the wine also complemented the food. Staff was amazing. Will comeback on my next visit to NY. Overall experience came at around 400 USD for 2. One thing to improve - the lighting in the restaurant is very dark...(this is why the photos are not clear)

First time here and really enjoyed our tasting menu and wine pairing. Everything was great and our waitress was knowledgeable and fun. It was 7 courses and 6 wines. The attention to detail was incredible, with each member of the staff attending to our needs and delivering exceptional value.

Contemporary, Michelin-starred, New Zealand-owned restaurant which balances haute cuisine with a rustic and approachable ambiance. There are a couple of tasting menu options (‘Long’ and ‘Short’) and a modest a-la carte menu, but everything we tried was utterly fantastic. The fish starters were rich and flavourful and the main course (duck and deer) was incredible. Prices are in the high $30s for a main course but it’s absolutely worth it for a treat or special occasion. The staff are attentive and helpful, the space is relaxed and unpretentiousness, and the food is absolutely amazing.

Amazing experience from A to Z. Service was without a doubt the best we’ve had since a long time. The tasting menu did not disappoint, all dishes were thoughtfully made to enhance the flavors of the products. Special love for the cauliflower and caviar dish.

The tasting menu is lovely. Well balanced, fairly priced and a good amount of food. All the dishes seemed very thoughtful and were well presented. This place is upscale but still has an approachable feel which I find really nice! I’d recommend this place to try!

I'd not heard of this place until recently and went on a suggestion and had the tasting menu, and it really was delicious! Also given other NYC tasting menu prices this was a very fair price point for what we got. Every course was really tasty, there was a broth too which was outstanding but it all was. Cocktails were really well crafted too by a dedicated bartender. I've heard it's on restaurant week as a brunch and I'm aiming to come back!

The food and service was top notch. The omnivore tasting was the winner of the two but still loved the vegan as well. Just such a beautiful and thoughtful experience on so many levels. Every serving was beautiful, delicious, and multifaceted. Cocktails were delightful, whimsical, and so interesting. Only two small pieces of feedback: We wished the tasting menu had a touch more food (as we were left a little hungry after the meal) and we felt slightly rushed at the end because another couple wanted our specific table (despite other tables being available). Otherwise, a nearly perfect experience.

Truly exceptional service. Food was perfect in every aspect, even the bread is amazing. Wine pairing is also a great opportunity to discover new wines and get a perfect combination.

My son took me here for my birthday. We had the tasting menu. I had the Vegan tasting menu The food and staff were AMAZING. We sat in the garden area and it was beautiful. I have attached pictures of a few of the items we had. Cannot say enough good things about the Musket Room.

Omg! It was absolutely incredible! I can't even begin to tell you how each dish kept getting better and better and better. I tasting menu for $99 in a Michelin star restaurant is an incredible find. (Unfortunately they raised the price to $108 a few weeks after we booked but it's still worth it) If I go next time I'll probably skip the drinks and just enjoy the food.

A truly memorable meal. Flavours, textures and creativity flowing from every dish served. Every single one was delicious, with the beef wellington being the best we’ve ever eaten. I loved the little kiwi touches like the hei-tiki foie gras. The dessert needs special mention, the leaves were beautiful! Each one unique, delicate and crisp. A very creative dish indeed. Service once seated was excellent and the staff really know a lot about everything being served. We had to wait quite a while to be seated though despite booking and being on time. We were offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco which was good. Other than that small hitch, it was an extremely memorable and special meal. We will be back for sure!

A fantastic tasting menu experience. It was especially nice that they had omnivore and vegetarian options both for the same table. The reserve wine pairing was also especially nice. My first time having sweetbreads and I hope I'm not ruined forever because they were simply amazing!

We came here to celebrate my fiance's birthday and did the long story tasting with the wine pairing. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and so knowledgeable about each of the dishes! The sommelier was a sweetheart and so thorough with her explanations of how each wine pairs perfectly with the food. The food was a definite culinary and artisric treat for the senses! We had an amazing time and highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Really enjoyed the iberico, tartare and caviar bite that all really stood out. Loved the dim lit dark wood ambiance that was sophisticated without being overly stuffy. Not too loud from music but good liveliness from other tables. Amazing service and they accommodated so easily to all dietary restrictions despite it being a set tasting menu, and great service pace.

Went here for lunch last Saturday at around 2 pm with a friend and we ordered most things from the a la carte lunch menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. Every mouthful was delicious. Each dish did not disappoint at all. Really wanted to come here for the tasting menu - but unfortunately they don’t offer that during lunch. Also was sad that they were out of the dessert item at the time. But the service was also good as well. Everyone was friendly. Will definitely have to come back!!

As if the food didn’t speak volumes itself, the staff here is just as incredible. Absolutely LOVE the team - Adam and Camilla in management are the best. The tasting menu was so visually pleasing and explained thoroughly. They were kind enough to answer silly questions we had about each dish too. Very good experience.

incredible meal through and through. the panisse was incredible & the pekin duck was amazing. the cocktails were good, but not spectacular/show-stopping. overall, the service was amazing- minor issue at the end of the meal where we waited 30 minutes for dessert, but the manager and waiter were very apologetic about it. we loved the ambiance in the back patio, and we really enjoyed the pace of the meal. the wagyu was good, but we thought the duck was better in terms of flavor/uniqueness. the bread service was really delicious. great meal worth returning to!

I've tried around 15 different restaurant meals from NYC Restaurant Week 2021 and this one comfortably sits in the top 3. That is all the more impressive given that it was just a sandwich. A lot of attention went into ensuring the meal would be delivered promptly after finishing being cooked. A recommended stop for a quick tasting of a legendary gastronomic spot in the city. Update: 9 months after trying their Restaurant Week offer, I tried their Roasted Chicken and it was truly fantastic. It's green sauce was legendary. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal food! Classy staff! Endearing ambiance! WOW!! Had a wonderful group birthday dinner here. Most of the crew had the regular menu and one had the vegan menu. Everyone was thoroughly satisfied!! I didn’t realize gratuity was included, and ended up tipping a lot extra… manager was super classy and refunded it without an issue. And the service was great too. Also loved the sake flight for drinks, and the wines were so good! Cannot recommend highly enough. A GEM!!

An amazing experience. We had the tasting menu, and I had the reserve wine pairing with it. All of the food was so thoughtfully put together but, more than that, the taste made me stop and think. There was texture and nuance and playful boldness that I wanted to puzzle out and savor. The staff were attentive and incredibly friendly. There was no air of pretention. My dining partner and I were obviously unaccustomed to fine dining and they were no less enthused to have us there. The dishes were explained thoughtfully and the wine pairings were introduced in such a fun, informative way that I was able to get way more out of my experience. We had a wonderful time.

My first impression of the restaurant started with very professional host leading us to our table. The interior looked like a classic stylish restaurant, but each table was very spacious and comfortable. I also noticed tables were big and nice too. The menu has omnivore and vegan options, and I ordered omnivore. The course started with Kristal Caviar, which melted immediately in my mouth after the initial crunch. What I liked about the dish is how caviar did not take over the taste. Each item was well portioned, and even richer items didn't overwhelm me. Instead, I thought the order was beautiful-- for example, I remembered about Spring Peas with King Crab well, as it was the great refreshing accent between two meat plates with slightly louder flavors. The pre-fixe is reasonably priced for the quality for the city as well. I did go for smaller course in the past, but I do strongly recommend here for the full dinner course menu.

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience. The food was simply AMAZING. We did the Omnivore & the Vegan tasting menu, and there was not a false note in any of the dishes. The private outdoor greenhouses were a cool experience as well. The service is also excellent - definitely the best we’ve had at an NYC restaurant so far. We’ll definitely be back.

Went here for an indulgent anniversary dinner. Did not disappoint! In fact we left deciding this needs to become an annual tradition. We got the vegan tasting menu with the added reserve wine pairing, which were both phenomenal. The flavors were so complex and some dishes introduced me to spices and ingredients I had never eaten. The staff were delightful and so informative. Absolute wonderful experience.

I’m a firm believer that going out to dinner in NYC should be an experience that ticks all the boxes. The Musket Room does just that. I’m a vegetarian, so I ordered the vegan menu. The food wasn’t just delicious, but so unique in flavor. For 80% of the dishes, I’d never tasted anything like them before, and that’s what made this experience so exceptional. The service was also 10/10 and the atmosphere is excellent. I will be dreaming of this food for the foreseeable future and can’t wait to be back!

What a wonderful restaurant! A special shout out to Adam who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. The food was incredible and the service top notch. Two of my friends LOVED the vegan tasting menu (something that is hard to come by!) And the rest of our meals were equally 10/10, the relaxing decore really just made the ambience of the evening. We all felt so content, relaxed and happy by the end of the meal. Loved it so much.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was quiet and welcoming and the food was delicious. We had the tasting menu (omnivore option) and every course surprised us with the excellent balance of flavor and how each one seemed to be designed carefully. Overall the experience was worth the price. It can be costly but I can assure you it is totally worth it.

Went to The Musket Room last night for my wife’s birthday, and I’ve gotta say: fancy never felt so relaxed. The space has this upscale-but-cool vibe—no stuffy attitudes here. We both went for the omnivore tasting menu, and one of us upped the main to Wagyu (I’ll spill the beans: it was my wife). • Creativity & Flavors: Each course was cleverly done, with combos that made me do a double-take (huckleberry in savory dishes? Genius!). It was a rollercoaster of delightful surprises. • Mains: I had the duck, which was stellar. My wife’s Wagyu also had awesome subtle flavors, but—hot take—the extra $30 might not be worth it, especially since my duck was already top-tier. Both mains were a touch on the salty side, which was a bit of a bummer, but still enjoyable overall. • Dessert: Came through strong. Definitely saved room for these sweet treats and wasn’t disappointed. • Service & Ambiance: Impeccable. The staff was friendly, on point, and helpful in explaining each course. The whole place manages to feel both special and chill at the same time. • Veggie-Friendly: Their vegetarian tasting menu looked so good, I’m already planning to bring my sister-in-law (a devout veggie) next time she visits. In short, The Musket Room more than deserves its star status. We’ll definitely be back for another round of adventurous flavors—and I’ll probably stick to the duck unless that Wagyu gets a salt dial-down. If you’re looking for a spot that’s both refined and relaxed, put this on your list.

Lovely elegant restaurant perfect for special occasions and date nights! Hubby and I tried the omnivore tasting menu which featured amazing mind blowing delicacies. While the portion sizes were perfect for a tasting menu, we were left wanting more of the amazing goodness in our mouths. All the foods were to die for and we were both deliriously happy and satisfied with our experience. Service was fantastic and we felt welcomed.

After seeing them on the new Apple TV show, Knife Edge, my partner and I were convinced to try them. Honestly, I cannot express how enjoyable and beautiful the dinner was. Everything tasted fresh, and delicious. It has the touch of modern cuisine what with deconstructed classics (we had a clam chowder that I will never stop talking about), and modernist art-like plating, the food still was comforting, inviting, a culinary hug to your stomach. We had seven courses, and included the Iberian ham just to try it. The service was polite, the ambience intimate, and a perfect date night. If you are from out of town, there may be a bit of sticker shock but rest assured it is worth every penny. I will come back and bring my loved ones along to enjoy as well!

Big surprise on restaurant week. The best is soft scramble eggs. It has uni and black truffle which is so delicious. They have the restaurant week menu of brunch provided on Sunday. The cheese in salad is fresh and I like the taste of mint in it. Main course is chicken sandwich which is quite juicy. Highly recommendation and will definitely come back again.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had and definitely the best vegan dining experience I’ve had! I went for my birthday, and we got two vegan tasting menus, one with the wine pairing. Basically every dish was perfect, the only one that I thought was merely a 9/10 was the seaweed caviar because the avocado underneath tasted like a pretty standard guac mix, nothing special-although the seaweed caviar itself was amazing. The gazpacho was one of our favorites, a perfect amount of creaminess and fresh crisp and sweetness from the grape and cucumber(?) in the middle. The eggplant dish was also a fav contender because of the miso base that tasted basically like a rich tonkatsu broth, despite being vegan! The rice pudding was stellar as well, the red bean ice cream blending perfectly with the salty crispy rice puff and the fruits in the pudding. Textures and flavors melded exquisitely with every course, and would happily come back another time when the tasting menu changes. Needless to say the wine pairing was excellent as well, every note and interaction that our server described came across, and added so much characteristic to each dish. 10/10 restaurant if you’re looking for Michelin star fine dining at a respectable price point for the quality and experience.

I can’t state this vehemently enough… Dining at The Musket Room was an absolutely phenomenal experience. I have been lucky enough to dine around the world and have had a few Michelin star experiences. This one was tops. This meal will be remembered fondly for the entirety of my life. My friend and I both enjoyed the Omnivore tasting menu and the wine pairing. The worry with a tasting menu is that you will be full before you finish, hungry when you leave, or that each dish couldn’t possibly be delicious. This tasting menu blew all of the preconceived notions of what a tasting menu should be out of the water. Each dish was a flavor sensation. It was the perfect amount of food for a full experience. And the wine pairing was absolutely outrageous — I was wildly impressed with each combination. The wines were so delicious that my friend and I asked for pictures of a few of the bottle labels to look for when we return home. Finally, our server Bobby made the entire experience memorable. He was attentive, friendly, casual, caring, funny, welcoming, informative. Bobby made us feel like we were his only table for the night, like we were in his living room, like we could be friends for life. I would visit 1000 more times to sit and chat with Bobby. We had friends show up at the tail end of our meal and he invited them to sit next to us, treated them to a glass of dessert wine, and gave them the cookie box that complemented our meal. I can’t imagine ever having better service than what we received from Bobby. I will be recommending The Musket Room to everyone I know, forever. I hope it is open for decades to come, I will be returning every time I am in NYC. I would give 6 out of 5 stars if I could, rate it an 11 out of 10. Fantastic.

A truly exceptional meal with excellent service from all the staff. I opted for the vegan tasting menu with the wine pairing to try something different and was glad I did so. The pairing of sake with a green and white asparagus dish was inspiring and noteworthy. The restaurant's atmosphere has a sophisticated rustic charm that partnered perfectly with the dishes and staff interactions. Special thanks to Adam, Guil, and the sommelier for their hospitality and attentiveness.

Wonderful food and flavors. The food itself is worthy of a michelin star. However, we were unexpectedly charged for the “still water”. $20 for two bottles. Just be aware when the waiters ask “still or sparkling” to say “tap (unbottled)” if you don’t want to be charged for water. Regardless, the still water we had was quite nice, Antipodes water from New Zealand. Menu is attached as well for those who are curious. Total per person cost after tip and tax was $200. Waiters were quite attentive throughout the meal and all dishes were explained once they were served. My favorite was the first dish (albeit small): the Uni Mushroom Consomme. The Kristal Caviar was quite nice as well. Overall, an excellent dining experience with unique and exquisite flavors.

AMAZING!!!!!! My friends and I visited NYC for a girls trip and we seriously spent hours trying to find the perfect place for dinner and we are SO happy we found this gem. I am a vegetarian and both my friends eat meat, so we struggled to find a restaurant with the best of both worlds. We all did the tasting menu (vegan menu for me and they did the omnivore) and it was absolutely delicious. Each dish kept exceeding expectations and the flow of the plates made for a fabulous EXPERIENCE. Two of us are “sober-curious” and the bartender/sommelier was super accommodating and paired our menu with the perfect mocktails. Thank you to the lovely staff for the most perfect meal for our trip! Can’t wait to return! Will be dreaming about the courses until then!

This restaurant exceeded all expectations. I was truly amazed by every aspect of the night. We arrived early, and they sat us with no problem and had a happy anniversary card signed by all the staff waiting on the table, as I was celebrating 4 years with my partner. They asked about allergies, and were able to modify the dish that I was allergic to. The staff were very nice and professional. We enjoyed the long story set menu. Each dish was beautifully presented. It was clear that everyone in the kitchen was passionate about what they were creating. Each dish had a beautiful balance of flavors with nothing being too assertive or muted. Some of the flavor combinations were completely new to me and it was such a pleasure to experience something so new and exciting. The cocktails were exquisite. I wouldn’t change a single thing about any part of the experience. Every person on staff really went out of the way to make the night special. This meal was worth every penny and then some. It is in my top two best restaurant experiences in my life. Everyone must try this restaurant at least once in their life. Thank you Musket Room for making our anniversary perfect!

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food is absolutely incredible, the cocktails are great, and there is a wide variety of wines. The duck was unforgettable. Unfortunately, I forgot the bartender's name, but she was very attentive and sweet.

I want to start with the atmosphere, rustic and stunning. The service is personal, attentive, informative, friendly, well-versed, knowledgeable, and beautifully executed. The menu was prefixed, we tried both the vegan and the omnivore. The highlights were seaweed caviar and scallops with honey kiss melon and gooseberries. More unique dishes were the roasted chickpea with vindaloo sauce and the lamb rolled in grape leaves and excellent pine nut spiced topping. Lastly, the deserts, take a breath and allow your mind to process how savory and sweet can be transformed into unique works of art and a new experience.

Lovely tasting menu (and reasonably priced) served in an intimate dining room. We were particularly impressed by our serving staff, all of whom were attentive and friendly. We always appreciate when servers have keen knowledge of the dishes coming out of the kitchen. Also note that for those with peanut allergies, the kitchen is peanut-free.

Celebrated my 10 year veganniversary here. I wanted to splurge at a special restaurant. They have a vegan tasting menu which is why I picked this place. I loved it. Great atmosphere and vibes - it was pretty, rustic-style, nice music, and beautiful lighting. The staff was attentive and friendly - just the right balance. I felt comfortable there! The courses were served at a great pace. It took just over an hour for me to get through everything and then I enjoyed espresso. I got to try lots of flavors and ingredients I never had before. If the portions look too small, fear not, because by the end I was actually stuffed. My favorite course was the Hawaiian hearts of palm. Everything was so creative and delicious! The drink menu was impressive and I loved the one I tried (Japanese gin and beets). If I wasn't such a lightweight I would've ordered another drink. Delicious espresso too. The menu changes often so I'll have to find a new reason to go back, especially when the backyard is open.

Tasting menu was lovely and well-priced. The interior was fairly relaxed for an upscale restaurant, which gave it a warm, homey vibe, and the tasting menu flavors echoed the environment. There was quite some variety across all the dishes, and some sort of odd tastes, but the bread with anchovy butter was fantastic, and the real star of the show was the fruity and tropical tuna. We enjoyed the tuna so much that we separately ordered a few more plates to share, since the flavors were so bright and the texture was immaculate. The starter with caviar was also delightful. Overall, the portions are small, even for a tasting menu, so I wouldn’t expect to be super full but it was a fun trip and I’d recommend visiting at least once.

Divine, and most definitely one of the best meals I’ve had this year. The space is a bit modern rustic and has a lovely vibe to it and the service for the evening was exceptional. I went with the omnivore menu and every dish was a delight, with top notch ingredients and great flavor combinations. Stand outs included an amazing lamb tartare and a cauliflower foam with caviar. I definitely look forward to a return visit!

Very pricey but what a memorable experience! Extensive wine choices with special stash in basement. Just ask lol. Wait staff very knowledgeable about every ingredient in each michelin starred dish. Portions are bite sized. Not recommended for someone with a large appetite.

I was looking for a restaurant in New York with unusual, delicious and beautiful presentation. I downloaded Michelin star app and found this place. Reservation was easy to make on line. They sent me notifications to remind and confirm. The place is very casual inside but has garden and tables around it outside. The food and drinks were beyond delicious. Drinks had some unique ingredients that i was little cautious to order, but I didn’t regret. The drinks and food has slight directions towards Indian spices, but spices used in small amounts that didn’t overpower other flavors but added new experience. We had tasting menu and few their special drinks. Service was excellent. Food presentation and temperature and flavors were great. I already recommended this place to my friends and I can’t wait to come back and try different dishes. This restaurant is definitely on my list to come back.

I was honored to be one of the first to enjoy the new vegan tasting menu and DEAR LORD it was great. The non-alcoholic pairings were fabulous too. Everyone working there was lovely, they made me feel like a million bucks. This restaurant is good for the body and soul. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Great dining experience. It’s like laid back but upscale at the same time? No nonsense or pretense but just great food and cool people. Loved everyone there. Food’s amazing. I liked the wagyu more than the duck. I don’t like steak tartare but I LOVED the one here. Oh and the bread and butter?!? SO GOOD

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Musket Room Dining at The Musket Room is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere feels both refined and welcoming, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The space is intimate and thoughtfully designed, making it ideal for a special night out. The food is truly the star. Each dish is beautifully presented and showcases remarkable creativity, blending bold flavors with flawless technique. Every bite feels intentional, seasonal, and deeply satisfying. The tasting menu in particular is a journey—surprising, balanced, and memorable from start to finish. Service is impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. The staff’s passion for the food and wine elevates the entire experience, and their recommendations are spot-on. The Musket Room is more than a meal—it’s an experience. A standout restaurant that delivers on every level and leaves you already planning your return. Highly recommended.

Service was exceptional, with attentive and knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere was really enjoyable, warm and inviting. The food... I mean what can I even say. From start to finish a delightful meal. We got the tasting menu (omnivore) and wine pairing and I can't recommend the experience enough. Such a great meal, and even some delicious chocolate bonbon at the end which was unexpected!

The Musket Room is not to be missed! My partner and I came for a birthday-engagement celebration and it was truly a divine experience. We opted for the Omnivore tasting menu, which changes regularly. However, no matter what day you go, the menu is unparalleled. Highlights from tonight included the most impeccably cooked venison. I also want to spotlight the team who served us. Vanessa and Charles are the best in the biz. Their timing was perfect, their service unmatched. They also went out of their ways to ensure the experience was unforgettable. We’re already planning our next visit. The ambience is also welcoming, elegant, and provides the perfect amount of space. I highly recommend the Musket Room for your next special occasion. Thank you to Vanessa, Charles, and the rest of the Musket Room team for a wonderful birthday dinner. Percy (and Conner) PS: the espresso martini is A+

We recently visited The Musket Room and had an unforgettable experience. We tried the Chef’s Tasting – Artist Series (Fall 2025) Vegan Menu, and every course was outstanding. The flavors were beautifully balanced, the presentation was stunning, and the creativity behind each dish truly shined. From the truffle tartlet to the parsnip course, each plate was thoughtful, unique, and absolutely delicious. The only element we didn’t love was the sourdough, which we found a bit too hard to bite—but everything else more than made up for it. The service was warm, attentive, and made the evening even more special. We truly appreciated how accommodating the team was and how seamless the entire experience felt. Highly recommend The Musket Room to anyone looking for an elevated, plant-based dining experience. We can’t wait to return!

My husband took me to Musket Room for our anniversary, and the whole evening felt like slipping into a secret world. The restaurant sits on my favorite street ,peaceful, a little romantic, the kind of block that makes you walk slower. Musket Room itself is so discreet from the outside you could mistake it for someone’s private studio. I love that. It already feels like you’re being let in. Inside, the space unfolds into two calm dining rooms that look straight out of Scandinavia: warm woods, soft lighting, chairs carved with the kind of intention you feel before you notice. We had a corner table, quietly tucked away, basically the “VIP of intimacy.” You can see outside through the little windows which are very cozy and special. And along the wall, bottles of wine arranged almost like sculptures, a simple but thoughtful installation. The music is also very good, the service is fantastic, they have almost every different waiter for each dish, makes us feel very special. And then I learned the menu was inspired by a local artist. Suddenly everything made sense — the colors, the shapes, the way every plate had the confidence of a small canvas. No wonder the dishes looked like little artworks. They weren’t just cooked; they were curated. The cocktails are also very delicious, cherry on the top! Now let’s talk about the main characters! House-made Sourdough & Anchovy Butter A warm sculpture of a loaf, spiked like a mountain range. The anchovy butter melted like salted silk. Honestly, museum-worthy carbohydrates. Æbleskiver with Truffle A tiny golden sphere wearing a delicate truffle “painting.” One bite, but it gave big fairytale energy. Razor Clam with Potato, Leek & Sourdough Presented in a soft white bowl like a minimalist artwork. Subtle, clean, almost Japanese in spirit like tasting the memory of the ocean. Beets with Huckleberry, Caviar & Amaranth This one looked like a neon-purple mosaic. Vivid, textured, playful. Pure art plate. Jamón Ibérico with Mussels, Potato & Saffron Layers of color and texture. The saffron yellow against the pale ham felt like a gentle watercolor. Potato Gnocchi with Chanterelles, Pistachio & Sorrel Woodland tones. Greens, golds, browns. Eating this felt like being inside a forest painting. Scallop with Squash, Lime & Tamarind The scallop was bronzed like it had been seared under gallery lights. The squash added this glowing orange brushstroke. A beautiful contrast of colors. Lamb Shoulder with Black Garlic, Maitake & Cabbage Rich, dark, dramatic. The charred cabbage petals looked like a charcoal sketch. By the end, the whole experience felt like a quiet European escape disguised as dinner: Scandinavian design, French warmth, Japanese precision, New York creativity. And all wrapped inside a menu shaped by a local artist, which explains why each dish came out like a tiny edible artwork. A perfect anniversary , intimate, low-key, beautifully designed, and curated just for us, you can feel you had a little getaway to Europe somewhere but yet without leaving Nolita! My husband impressed me once again! 💖💖💖

The Musket Room continues to be one of our favorite spots in NYC! Three of us had the omnivore tasting menu and one had dietary restrictions, which the team handled with so much care. They even mixed and matched dishes to make sure everything worked, which made the experience stress-free. Jake, our server, was incredible — knowledgeable, attentive, and always ready to point me in the right (and safe) direction. Every course was outstanding, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. This was our 7th year coming here during our annual NYC trip, and the food and service are consistently exceptional. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Didn’t expect to enjoy this meal so much—especially after having what I considered the best meal of my life just the day before. Yet somehow, most dishes here carried a distinct point of view. Not just well-executed, but with a sense of personality I hadn’t quite experienced before. The first thing I loved was the warm, house-made sourdough boule with anchovy butter. I’ve had anchovy butter in pasta plenty of times, but never like this. Simply paired with bread fresh from the oven. The sour tang of the boule played against the anchovy’s deep umami and faint funk in a way that was both rustic and elegant. Then the steak tartare with kumquat, mint, and Aleppo pepper. Tartare is rarely the course that catches me off guard, but this one was different. Zesty citrus from the kumquat, fragrant freshness from the mint, and a gentle heat from Aleppo pepper oil—all framing the tender, subtly seasoned beef. Kristal Caviar with artichoke & egg yolk was a bold move pairing caviar with just vegetables, but it worked. The sharp, tangy quality of the artichoke married well with the salty richness of the Kristal caviar. Unexpectedly balanced with egg yolk adding a touch of creaminess. One of the evening’s most satisfying bites came from a supplement: jamón Ibérico with smoked mussels, potato, and saffron. The jamón had a unique appearance, almost like a delicate, furry jerky, possibly due to mold from the aging process. But the flavor was incredibly layered (likely a result of 12 years of curing). It paired beautifully with the silky potato purée, and while not the most mind-blowing dish of the evening, it was the most satisfying. The lamb course was obviously perfectly cooked, but the highlight was the spring onion purée infused with black garlic. It delivered an intense umami note that quickly settled into a garlicky sweetness. Well-rounded and comforting. Glad I didn’t spring for the wagyu upgrade. The finale was Birch Custard with Mostarda, Sourdough & Fermented Blueberry. Not sure I picked up strong birch earthiness, but the custard had a rich, thick texture and a restrained sweetness. Classic pairing with fermented blueberries, which added tartness and depth.

Tucked away in Nolita, just steps from the subway, this restaurant is an absolute gem. The vibe is chill and casual, yet perfect for special occasions or simply trying something new with friends, a date, or your partner. The music is at just the right volume and the thoughtful spacing between tables adds a sense of privacy that’s hard to find in the city. The menu offers both omnivore and vegan options, with a variety of dishes bursting with unique and wonderful flavors I had never experienced before. Truly an exquisite and innovative combination of ingredients. My personal favorite was the Kristal Caviar with Artichoke & Egg Yolk — an absolute masterpiece! With a well-deserved Michelin star, this place lives up to the hype. Huge thanks to our server, Jake M, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely lovely — he really went above and beyond to make our night special. Highly recommend, and definitely a place I’ll be returning to!

Tucked behind sleek, glass-framed doors, The Musket Room offers a serene escape from the lively Nolita streets. The interior strikes a harmonious balance between rustic charm and modern elegance, with Danish-style chairs, industrial lighting, and midcentury modern furnishings that create a cozy, lived-in atmosphere. The service is effortlessly attentive—approachable yet well-informed—adding to the warm and welcoming ambiance. Under the guidance of Chef Mary Attea, the kitchen turns out dishes that are as thoughtful as they are inventive. Guests can choose between an omnivore or vegan tasting menu, or select from a flexible range of à la carte offerings. The tasting menu often showcases creative flavor combinations, such as German potatoes paired with razor clams and sourdough breadcrumbs in a rich clam chowder broth, or coarsely ground grits accompanied by savory red-eye gravy, tart huckleberries, and smoky pork jowl. Whether you're seeking a refined dining experience or a more casual evening of shared plates, The Musket Room delivers with grace, flavor, and thoughtful detail.

I don’t really know where to even start to describe how AMAZING our dinner here was!! We had the most lovely date-night - we both got the omnivore tasting menu ($125) with the wine pairing. Every dish was incredibly flavoured, well-balanced, creative and… well, just fun! Our absolute favorite was the egg yolk with artichoke and caviar - I still dream about this dish 🤤 the wine-pairing was immaculate, with fun wines from all around the world. You could really tell that the - very talented!- sommelier put a lot of thought and love into these combinations. All other service was also very attentive and super friendly. Thank you for making this evening at the Musket Room an absolute unforgettable highlight of our NYC trip 💛🏙️

Absolutely phenomenal culinary experience. And the staff were gracious and accommodating since one person in our party was very late. I ordered an old fashioned- delicious. And we had the omnivore tasting menu - every single dish was mind blowing. We had someone who helped with pairing 2 wines with some dishes and it was divine. If you’re thinking about it just make the reservation and go. My girlfriends and I had an amazing night with some of the best food ever.

There’s nothing 4 stars or below about this restaurant. The food is absolutely gorgeous and the taste 100% matches with the presentation. What I love most is the creativity behind the ingredients combination that brings brand new flavors and texture that are so hard to describe because I’ve never had anything like that before! It’s truly one of a kind. The tasting menu has the perfect number of courses that makes me feel satisfied but not stuffed, the perfect taste of healthiness.

The Musket Room was fantastic and I highly recommend it. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it definitely earns that Michelin star. They made it such a special evening for us, celebrating our anniversary. It was easy to switch a few items to the vegan menu too, which was also awesome. My favorite dish was the squash from the vegan tasting menu. Impeccable service, great wine, and a couple of pairing cocktails they added in. The atmosphere feels like a cozy, neighborhood spot and not stuffy at all.

The Musket Room is a decent choice for a casual dinner date—especially if you’re in the neighborhood and looking to try something new. The atmosphere is cozy, but the food itself isn’t particularly memorable. A big shoutout, though, to the sommelier, who truly elevated the experience with thoughtful wine and food pairings and a great presentation

The only thing worth mentioning is the matcha dessert in the end. Other things are very mediocre. However, I can still give it a fours star because about $100/person tasting menu for a Michelin 1 star restaurant is not so bad. The atmosphere is good too, so it’s good for dates. However, all food only worth about $100, so it’s a fair tasting menu but not a good one.

My favorite dish at The Musket Room was the breads and spreads. The house-made sourdough boule wasn’t much bigger than the water glasses and came pre-cut into four chunks. We slathered smaller pieces in briny anchovy butter sprinkled with flakey sea salt, whipped ricotta and olive oil; and chicken liver mousse. I sunk my teeth into the chewy crust. The croquettes capped our round of Musket Room appetizers. We used forked pieces to mop up the smoked saffron aioli, refusing the leave anything for the servers to take away. I expected potato, but rich bechamel oozed into my mouth (nearly burning me) and onto the plate. The Musket Room certainly didn’t skimp on that jamon Iberico sliced thin and folded on top. The two people I was with didn’t like The Musket Room’s Matsutake mushrooms with sunchokes and heirloom rice. I had jockeyed for it and felt bad that this was the dish I’d chosen to share with everyone came out cold and two-noted: earthy mushroom and overwhelming sour cream. At least the island of wild rice was swimming in the tangy sauce (I love sauce). I had hoped for more Matsutake, but wasn’t so lucky. The Musket Room’s duck was perfectly cooked. The seared crust was the best part, and the inside was succulent and juicy. It came with a classic cherry sauce, little dots of labne, and tiny chunks of white turnip. The server spooned an au jus over the duck at our table. After the miniscule entrees, the expected “sooo…anyone want to hit up dollar pizza after this?” half joke happened. To “fill up”, we ordered three spoonfuls of panna cotta. Excellent spoonfuls, but spoonfuls. The piped ruffle of chocolate panna cotta went perfectly with the charred banana puree. Garnishes-wise, I can do without eating gold, but thank goodness for the flaky sea salt. Still not full (because of course not) we ordered a slightly larger dessert (four spoonfuls instead of three): sweet potato with mousse, smoked molasses, and rum. I don’t particularly care for plating and food styling, but the pastry team at The Musket Room made the dish so pretty. A wide ribbon of meringue curled around puffs of airy light orange sweet potato mousse, and three or four circles of sweet potatoes prepared in some mysterious way (maybe cooked and slightly dehydrated?). Without the smoky molasses rum semifreddo on top, it tasted like a deconstructed sweet potato pie. With the semifreddo, it transformed into a sweet potato s’mores kinda deal. The Musket Room had amazing appetizers, and the desserts interesting, but the entrees were underwhelming

Food is still outstanding . The service is great and friendly however the kitchen is beyond slow. There were 30 minutes between each dish, most the size of a quarter! The kitchen felt understaffed. I would not come back unless I had 2-3 hours to kill. Maybe the a la carte is faster.

Went here on a whim last Saturday evening, and it was not at all what I expected (though not necessary in a bad way). With a name like “The Musket Room”, I was expecting wood paneling, some dead animal heads, and maybe a musket on the wall. It fact, the atmosphere was modern, trendy, and fairly unassuming. My impression is that the restaurant wanted the food, not the decor, to make the impression. I had the omnivore tasting menu with the wine pairing. With the first toe courses (caviar and lamb tartar, along with a champagne wine pairing) I was worried that I committed to a fairly expensive outing for only “okay” food. Fortunately, things improved markedly from there. The octopus and pork dishes were fantastic, and the wine pairings got more interesting as the evening progressed. The Jamon and mussel supplement was worth the add-on (though I’d suggest splitting it, just so you can try it). Overall, I thought it was an interesting culinary experience and I’m glad I did it, but I probably won’t go back at that price point.

This restaurant has been on my list all year so my expectations were high but the meal never quite lived up to the hype. My boyfriend and I went there on a Friday night and the place was strangely empty (I guess that’s august in the city for you). We both ordered the omnivore tasting menu with wine pairing which came out to around $250 a person without tip. The start of the meal is probably the most disappointing with the king caviar being extremely salty and the lamb tartare on the opposite end completely lacking seasoning and flavor. The highlights were the bread, harissa octopus, corn soup and ham add on we did. Wine pairings were interesting and with the exception of the champagne at the beginning, probably the most exciting and fun thing about the evening. In the end the food was good, but for the price, portion size, and level of buzz, it wasn’t enough for me to give it a rave or even recommend it to friends. I’m glad I can check it off my list but I will not return.

Had the tasting menu with the wine/alcohol pairing. This is my first American tasting menu I’ve had. Pretty good experience here. Waiter was friendly, food was good (especially the roasted chicken and scallops), and vibes were welcoming. Would come here again just to try their normal food. Affordable one Michelin tasting menu.

i came to the musket room with a friend for my graduation, with the pretext of trying something new (i usually reach for asian or Mediterranean cuisines). this was certainly something i've never tried, with no defined cuisine other than "new american" and drawing inspiration from various european or mediterranean cuisines. i got the omnivore tasting menu. so, to preface, my nose was congested so unfortunately i couldn’t taste very well. nonetheless, for a one-star michelin, it was slightly disappointing; whether that be my nose, or the fact that it's not my usual cuisine preference, it's hard to tell. 1. sourdough -- was quite tasty but didn't really taste like sourdough and i don't think it was necessary nor unique, except to fill the appetite. 2. TRIO OF CANAPÉS -- i felt the canape didn't bring out the freshness of the uni. but i did enjoy the mushroom, it had a nice crunch to the texture. 3. prawn -- i usually love prawn but this one was just so-so. too many leaves for my liking. 4. kristal caviar was splendid. looks very unassuming, but tastes great -- rich and complex. almost reminded me of clam chowder. 5. halibut -- the texture was great but it was slightly bland. 6. pork -- the texture of the pork is rougher than i like, but the garnish was splendid. 7. the cheesecake was honestly a highlight. ended with some truffles :)

Really interesting holiday menu where the menu reflected the traditions and heritage of the cooking staff. We both wish there was more food though which is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars. But the food was flavorful. Price point is good too

Exceptional service. Good ambiance. Good food. The food was overall tasty but it had some misfires. The sourdough was under-proofed and didn't have the fluffiness that defines it. The amuse and the shrimp dish had too much cream, which I thought took away from the flavors of caviar and shrimp. We had the jamón supplemental dish and that was delicious. The main proteins, fish and ribeye, were very good. The dessert was.. weird. The mix of semifreddo, pistachio, figs, and bread simply did not work. But we definitely appreciated their chocolate calligraphy work to congratulate our anniversary. The service here is top-notch. Our server made us comfortable by offering a shawl to keep warm. He was friendly and very accommodating throughout our meal. The service really made our meal shine. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Came here during the restaurant week but we got their short story instead. The appetizers were good and creative. Nothing too impressive but definitely delicious. As for the main, the seafood was very fresh. And I enjoyed the beef fillet a lot. The quail was nice too, cooked to the right tenderness. Their bread, which came with three different spreads was yummy. I especially enjoyed it with chicken liver! The desserts were a little sweet but good overall. All cocktails were good too. The service as well as the speed which our food was served was fantastic! No complaint at all.

I discovered this restaurant while watching The Knife. Planned a birthday trip to NYC and reserved a meal here. Not everyone in our party had experience with Michelin dining experience / tasting menus. Where team fell flat was Providing options that focused on our party experience , celebration and staying together. It’s not what you say it’s how you say it. It was a rough start to the experience but ended well - the food held up and was great. Overall good - but don’t think I will revisit on my next NYC trip.

A wonderful spot that provides a fantastic Vegan tasting menu and an omnivore option for those who are not of the same palate. This is a review of the tasting menu for Omnivore $145 and iberico pork supplement for $18 (4/5) Honestly, the white asparagus ALONE could have made this place a 5/5 because those are some phenomenal veggies. Texture, plating, and each bite being a new surprise was an EXPERIENCE. Service is on-point, they always made sure we were okay and refilled accordingly even without being asked. Exquisite Service for sure. (5/5) Other than that this is probably one of the best Vegetarian tasting menus that a person can get as Musket Room is making strides. A point taken down because the casual atmosphere brought some really loud guest that took away from appreciating the environment or food as a nice date spot. Some of the food also did not really hit like the halibut or potato cauliflower. Can't say I was the biggest fan of them. If you do get the garden (It is a rule that you MUST be punctual, it would be an EASY 5/5. It looks beautiful and most likely out of the way from all the noise) The Musket room is absolutely worth the visit for Vegans specifically and for those willing to give Vegan tasting menus a try as the Omnivore gives you the best of both worlds. P.S. The bathroom is great. No complaints. It is very clean and you honestly feel rude messing it up.

The service is excellent. I had the omnivore tasting menu and a few cocktails. I must say that the drinks were very good and boozy (which i like). Most of the food was great, the bread with anchovy butter was surprisingly delicious, as well as the ricotta dessert. However, some items, like the beet tartar and the scallops, were not memorable. The atmosphere is nice, i did not feel rushed or cramped. Overall its a 4.5/5

The few vegan dishes on the menu were very well thought out. I appreciated the creativity, especially with the kelp-based caviar and the cauliflower dish that cleverly mimicked the texture and flavor of tuna—both were excellent. However, the omnivore options didn’t quite meet my expectations, particularly the pork jaws. On a positive note, the sommelier was fantastic and provided some great wine recommendations.

Great Michelin star restaurant experience but not because of the food. Atmosphere was very nice, cute and simple decorations for a nice time. It was a bit dark for photos though which is not a problem. Service was one of the best I've ever experienced. The staff was very professional, patient and polite. We had a tasting menu which was a 6 course meal with an upgrade to the Wagyu beef. Overall most of the dishes were on the salty end. I had to order the old fashioned to reset my palate after every course. Couple of dishes were not my favorite but there were some great ones in our selection. FYI veggies tasted better than proteins for the most part.

What do I say? It was... underwhelming. The Blue Prawn is the best thing (subtle and satiating!) on the menu followed by the Corn with Ube. The Chicory salad would have been perfect but the dressing drowned out the rest of the flavours. An honorable mention to the sourdough bread that came with the roasted chicken

M
Matt K

Nice presentation and ambiance. The service was attentive but felt weird vibes. Many came off as overly enthusiastic and fake. The bread was treated like a course and they couldn't provide more. I wouldn't have minded a supplement charge. The dessert was particularly good. I found the hamachi crudo and sunchoke dish to be too salty. Everything else was good but unmemorable. I can't say I'd rush back.

As part of our trip I wanted to bring our friends to experience a Michelin Star restaurant, but one that would still give them flexibility with an à la Carte menu. We choose Musket Room recognized as a 1 Star by Michelin Guide let us see how it went. THE GREATER THAN- We started with the ‘Breads & Spreads’ choosing both spread options, the anchovy spread really stole the show with the Smoked Ricotta being a close second. The rest of the starters we choose ‘Jamón Ibérico’ & the ‘Hamachi Crudo’ were both great as well. The ‘Wagyu Beef’ was simply unbelievable but the ‘Ora King Salmon’ was the absolute star of the experience. THE LESSER THAN- Our server was unbelievably rude and treated us as if we had no business in “her restaurant”. She presented a feature dish as if it were a main course when it was a starter (which I ordered as a main), any time we asked a question we were met with condescension and shortness. I have never been more angry in a restaurant in my life. FINAL COMMENTS- The food was quite good and as Michelin grades almost solely on that fact it is hard to consider service, but this is New York where if you aren’t great your doors are closed. So I am at a loss for how to find a way to positivity, though I am hopeful that this is an isolated incident it was a catalyst point for our trip that went very poorly. #foodie #yegfoodie #edmontonfoodie #nycfoodie #nyc #canadianfoodie #michelin #michelinstar #newyork #wagyu #salmon #pipelinefoodie

Really wanted to love this place since it’s been on my go to list for a few years. All in, we spent $235 (NO BOOZE) and left hungry. I know this is a tasting menu establishment, but if you go à la carte, please don’t charge $28 for a tasting menu (tiny) portion appetizer. Give a larger portion or lower the price. And give a side veg if we order a fish for two $100. Our server, who performed and sounded like Andrew Zimmern, was the best part of the visit.

Ugh. So when we booked this we were under the impression they still had a Michelin star and I started questioning that distinction shortly after the meal started to the point I googled it halfway through the meal to find out they lost it and I can see why. The food was hit or miss. The amuse bouche (mushroom arancini like bite) was tasty but forgettable. The beets were topped with Kristal caviar, once again tasty but not blowing me away. The bread with sardine butter was fantastic- no notes! The razor clam chowder was tasty but very heavily salted, any more and would have been erring on the side of inedible. The scallop with curry was the star of the meal- absolutely fab. The venison was dry, the puree on the side was bland. The dessert was OK but had no textural contrast leaving it very one noted. Service wise was super disjointed, we had at least 5 people serving us (as often happens at fine dining establishments) however there didn’t seem to be an established flow and multiple mistakes were made. We ordered a cocktail to start to share and they waited to start the tasting until this was brought to the table/drank? Meaning we didn’t get a speck of food until 45 minutes into our reservation. We had dirty glasses or plates sitting on the table for extended amounts of time. We did the wine tasting and had wine poured into a dirty glass. We had the wrong main plated in front of us (meaning the wine pairings were incorrect). There were only two tea options and somehow they managed to give us the wrong one? Overall felt a lot of the staff was well meaning but green and require more training. Overall would loved to have seen this place in its glory days but unfortunately it seems to have had a fall from grace. For a nearly $600 dinner the value just isn’t there.

We came with high expectations and were solely disappointed. The highlights of the evening were the drinks and the laid back ambience. We appreciated that the noise level was moderate for New York City standards and we could actually hear each other. The food was mediocre. The main person in charge of our table was great but we could not understand the server who was explaining each course and ended up asking him to repeat himself into they finally sent someone else who had the same issue. The first course with the truffle was the best The lamb was dry and the dessert lacked flavor. Everything in between is a blur. It definitely wasn't worth the hype or the price.

My first michilen star restaurant - had the vegan menu and some drinks. It’s was OK. Maybe my expectations were too high - not all six courses were great. 2 were excellent - rest was OK. Pro 1- excellent server- she was fun and have very good recommendation on drinks 2- very good drinks 3 - vegan menu - just having it is a pro. Cons 1- not all plates were well made- some stars and some not so much 2- the host was a bit of a stuck up guy. Opened the restaurant 10 mins late - even though he could see many of his first party guests waiting he kept lecturing his servers and let us wait. Also, we were the first ones to be seated and this guy clearly was giving tables in an empty restaurant with multiple tables for two - based on preference. All in all OK place. Would not recommend and would not go again. This experiences makes me question how these stars are given out. Going to two more “stars” this week - let you know if I loose my trust in the system!

I rarely leave a review for a restaurant but Musket Room deserves one (a pretty bad one). Food is quite forgettable, nothing stands out and you don't go home rethinking about a single dish. I haven't seen before neither the amouse bouche treated as a course in a tasting menu nor the bread Effectively the menu is four courses, one starter that is a beetroot tartare, one fish course, one meat course and dessert. Quality is decent but not Michelin * worth, if this restaurant has a star then 90% of places in NYC could get one. If you compare it with its peers (estela, jus, Clinton 63) there is a striking difference. Let alone the food the service was atrocious. It is not normal to wait 45 minutes between courses in NYC especially on a tasting prefixed menu. They clearly messed up something in the kitchen and I would have expected (given the * and the price range) to be comped somehow instead the server told us couple of times that our course was been plated in the kitchen. Again, an issue in the kitchen can happen but restaurants at that level need to address them and/or offer an alternative to the customer. All over a quite disappointing dinner that costed 500$ for two people.

Not much of a fan, I’ve had better tacos. The chicken in the Pollo Yecateco taco was cold, the black bean & sweet potato taco was an unusual choice for me, but one that reminds me to trust my cut and take a hard pass. Maybe I don’t know what authentic Mexican cuisine should be but food aside the experience was pleasant. You get a nice breeze in the venue despite the open kitchen, this was definitely a plus, it’s not a bad place to kick back and enjoy happy hours on a hot summer day. The Mezcal Mule hit the spot served in the same cup my grand mother would have in the cabinet. Either way, stop by and let me know what you think!

Our experience at the Musket Room just wasn’t up to par. The table wasn’t ready at our arrival, so we had to wait at the bar (coats still on). The table we got was terrible, on one side was a busy walkway, at the other side of the table was some sort of wine station/storage where the staff would get the wines and clean wine glasses. This is by itself absolutely inexcusable for this type of restaurant. After a remark about our table we got another table after the first course, which was much better. At the beginning the service felt chaotic, but this got better after the first course. The staff was polite, though they only asked about our experience once after the first course. The food was just about okay, with the caviar dish (amuse) being the most memorable. All in all the foods didn’t feel or taste particularly special. It was just okay, which by far isn’t enough for this type of restaurant. Would not recommend.

Disappointed by The Musket Room – Not the Special Experience We Hoped For We dined at The Musket Room for a special occasion, hoping for a memorable meal, but unfortunately, we left questioning our choice. Opting for the omnivore tasting menu with cocktails, the evening had a promising start but ultimately fell flat. Let’s start with the positives—service was excellent, and everyone was warm and welcoming. The cocktails, Messina Sour and Panda Station, were both delicious and well-crafted. Among the food, the caviar and pork jowl stood out as the highlight of the meal. However, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. The sourdough bread was great, but the anchovy butter was divisive—definitely an acquired taste. The tuna tasted no better than what you’d find in a supermarket, and the clams were laughably small—barely two on the plate if you were lucky. The duck and steak were fine but entirely forgettable, and the wagyu—at a steep $30 upcharge—was far from worth it. The biggest disappointment, though, was the dessert. The texture was reminiscent of a stale marshmallow Peep, and the flavor was even worse. We took one bite and couldn’t bring ourselves to finish it. Overall, we truly wanted to love this meal, but aside from a few bright spots, it missed the mark for a special night out. We left feeling underwhelmed and wishing we had chosen differently.

We’ve had reservations for 4 people for over a month. My husband sent an email with dietary restrictions ( allergic to soy, peanuts + apples) and never heard back from the restaurant. Today, the day of the reservations, @2:30pm The Musket Room called my brother-in-law to tell him they could not accommodate the diet as everything had soy in it, and cancelled the reservations!!! What restaurant does that? Saturday night??

I recently went here for my second time, and both times I felt sick the next day. I’ve noticed several other reviews mention similar experiences, so I worry that it’s an issue the kitchen consistently faces. Be careful ordering the vegan tasting menu if you go.

We waited outside for a 2-person reservation for 30 minutes and decided to move on after none of the couples that arrived ahead of us were seated. Checking open table, folks waited an hour and I can agree that service staff were dismissive and unapologetic. Super disappointed after adding Musket Room to our New York trip from Portland, Oregon. We love good food and there are too many amazing restaurants to try than to waste your time here. We have no plans to return. Definitely not Michelin star service.

This is could be a nice place, unfortunately it isn’t. The problem is the food. It is just mediocre. We had vegan and omnivore. Vegan was blend. I know how difficult it is to cook vegan at fine dining level, and Musket room was the case in point: bland, salty as main taste, overcooked. One dish was so charred that it tasted bitter. Omnivore: had one great dish (scallop with tamarind) the rest was unbalanced, too sour and the lamb was dry beyond belief. We gave feedback along the way, which freaked out the staff. They were already all over the place (5 different people were serving us). This is not michelin star food en service. Winelist and playlist were great

Extremely disappointed. A facsimile of what a michelin experience should be. The food was mostly tepid (seemed like it was prepared ahead), flavors were oddly combined and presentation was overly fussy for the food. One dish was so salty it was inedible. As was the carrot souffle. The staff were friendly, but servers explaining the courses seemed nervous and not sure of what they were describing. Overly eager to clear plates - at one point the server shoved my son’s hand out of the way to reach the fork he in order to take it away. The extra add-ons (ie - caviar service and matzo soup) were not described to us not offered. Perhaps it is because we went on Christmas Eve that they had the C team serving, but I really don’t see how they could have earned a star. I have been to plenty of Michelin restaurants where the food may not have been for me, but I can see why they have the star. Not so the case with Musket Room. Am such a fan of Raf’s and Cafe Zaffri that this is hugely disappointing!!!
