Opinions de Bonnie Vee New York
Quite possibly the best grilled cheese of my life! And the Jessica Rabbit cocktails are to die for. Can't wait to go back to NYC just for this place!!
Awesome bar with an awesome happy hour, spacious and chill
Excellent cocktails, beautiful crowd. Very popular so it can be uncomfortably crowded sometimes, and basically impossible find a seat.
Stopped in here for cocktails and some small bites after an event with clients in Soho. Was pleasantly surprised! Loved the Salt & Ash mezcal cocktail. We ordered the grilled cheese, meatballs, hummus, and bar nuts to share and were quite happy! Will definitely be back here for cocktails and small bites with friends.
Cool place with an outdoor patio. Carlos is an amazing mixologist and easy on the eyes. Try the Grill Cheese Sandwich. It is super gooey, tasty and cheesy. The slightly spicy pickle spear is a nice compliment to the sandwich. It cuts the richness of the sandwich. The cocktail list has something for everyone.
I really liked this bar. They had Allagash White which is one of my favorite beers. I loved the interior. It definitely had a speakeasy feeling. The bartenders were nice. I enjoyed the music. I would definite recommend this bar.
Bonnie Vee is a bar I will always love. They gave me the best 30th birthday party. I had never felt so loved in my life. This bar made sure I celebrated well. I will always remember this place for making sure I had fun! Their bartenders, Jason and Christine, made sure I had fun, and made sure I had the night of my life. There is no other bar to celebrate your birthday than at Bonnie Vee!
Cool space, great cocktails. I had the Strawberry Girl cocktail and it was the perfect drink on a hot afternoon. Also had the pretzel which was like a pretzel loaf, served very hot.
A cocktail bar gem in the Lower East Side - chill, unpretentious and has some delicious concoctions. The Flawless Victory was flawless as advertised - it's got a kick to it from the ginger, so be prepared. And although I stuck to it for the night, I made a mental note to come back and try the Peachy Keen. They have happy hours! And some of the latest HHs I've seen i.e. 5-8pm Mon-Fri. But you have to scan the food menu to get the HH drinks (odd, I know). The list is also somewhat limited with regards to drinks. Bathroom is in the basement where there is also a photo booth for when you get drunk enough to want to memorialize your night.
Great place and great vibe. Staff was great
This place is amazing!! Every server, bartender, and bouncer we interacted with was so kind and wonderful and the food they have to offer is perfect bar fare. Love this spot!
Had a good experience here. Bartenders were cool, drinks priced fairly, and the vibe pretty good overall. Gets quite crowded as the night goes on, and very noisy.
Bonnie Vee was amazing loved the atmosphere, just wished there were more food options!
Really cute bar with a great happy hour. The service was quick and friendly! Fantastic spot to pop in before your dinner reso!
Have an event here. The music was fantastic. The back yard was adorable and the staff were so kind and supportive. 10/10
Such a cute vibe!! Asked the bartender to make me a drink to destress and he hit it right on the nail!! Perfect spot for hosting events( I was there for my book club) or if you simply just want to hang and get a drink. Will definitely be back again! The photos attached is where my book club event was hosted! Bar space is available as well!
Great drinks and great music. Usually much more low-key than most of the other spots near by
Came here on Easter and had the best time! Cool lounge vibes and a great outdoor garden. TJ our bartender was spot on making us cocktails! He made me a delicious shaken Strawberry Daiquiri that was one of the highlights of the night!
Fantastic cozy little bar in the lower East side. Had a great Holiday season round of drinks here!

Bonnie Vee hosted us for our monthly book club meeting and it was the cutest venue! they had great happy hour options, cute cocktails (and mocktails!), and amazing service. there's also a cute photobooth downstairs! we couldn't have had a better time!
This place was so cozy, and the vibes were amazing! I attended my book club meeting at Bonnie Vee, and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Hadn't been to NY in awhile and we decided to all meet at Bonnie Vee on a Saturday to get the night started ... . The place had a good crowd, not too young and not too old and enough to socialise and still get good bar service but not too much that you couldnt move. Sydney served us our food and cocktails and she is one of the reasons we would all go back! Overall great ambience, great food and the DJ was dropping some truth! The outside space is also a nice touch in NY! Would highly recommend it and will definitely add it to my list of regular spots...
This place is such a vibe!! Sydney and the staff are so kind and caring and took care of our birthday group!! Everyone check out their beer garden! Great spot!!
a wonderful place with a great atmosphere! amazing drinks, amazing service, and amazing vibes. they hosted us for our book club meeting and we had a fab time.
Best place on the LES. Great cocktails, very reasonable prices, and delicious small plates. The atmosphere is always chill, laid back and the back patio is phenomenal during the warmer months. Jason the owner/bartender will make sure that your stay is memorable!
Would rate it 4.5 if I could. The beer selection is great (drank Other Half's Green City), and the cocktails are well made. The pizza was only okay, but I went there mostly for a relaxed environment. Would definitely go there again.
Awesome place, good snacks, best drinks, really nice bartenders. Really chill low light ambiance, and the patio is cute. 10/10 bar in LES
Came here on a Whiskey Passport and loved this place! I had never seen it before, even though I live near the area. The decor inside is really nice and chill, and the bartender was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about whiskeys. Bathrooms were very clean (always important), and I want to come back in warmer weather to check out their back patio. The mood lighting and interesting drinks make Bonnie Vee a great date place!
Unique and delicious cocktails with a late happy hour. The bartender was very polite and was happy to answer any questions I had.

The older I get the more I appreciate a fine bar that serves quality drinks and has a chill vibe and ambiance - which is why I was ecstatic to come across Bonnie Vee in the LES. I came with a friend during happy hour on a Monday afternoon - they have quite a sizable outdoor patio in the back of the bar with various comfy couches perfect for small groups, which in Manhattan, can be a rarity. I had one of their frozen slushies; a spicy tequila concoction called 'The Jessica Rabbit' ($10 during happy hour) which was absolutely delicious! They also appear to have happy hour specials on food as we saw delectable grilled cheeses and other small bites being brought to nearby tables. I'll definitely be coming back to this gem in the future! It would be perfect for a low-key hang or even a first date!
we went on a saturday afternoon to the garden to just have a drink, they have Riesling (small glass) and big PIMS cocktails that are good. The garden is nice, but more of an outdoor area were smokers can drink, so if you do not enjoy cigarets avoid the garden and stay inside. The place is very classy and the music makes you have a good mood. The bartender is very nice and the service was fast.
One of the more crafty cocktail bars in the city, and a little tucked away so you'll impress friends visiting. Wouldn't make this your only go-to with so many options in the area, but a reliable stop on a night out.
Went here for a baby shower! Awesome! Loved the back area with the outside feel without being exposed to the elements. Definitely a gem. Food was ok.
The establishment is great especially the outdoor space. But the female server was incredibly rude and unpleasant. Really put a damper on what was a great evening.
Visited some friends in Brooklyn and we went on a short excursion. On the way we had some time to kill and our Hosts mentioned Bonnie Vee was a good place to stop in at. They mentioned the good food and good atmosphere. We were sat immediately in the 'back rm' which was quaint & had enough seating for about 20 people. We were the 16th through 20th patrons in the space and although it was a little tight getting past us, no one complained or asked us to move. The food & drink menu was listed in a cool QR coded laminated paper on the table that I was not able to scan with my iPhone(no QR reader) but my Hosts had no problem. American comfort food is how they described the menu. We didn't do anything special for drinks, vodka soda & gin and tonics around the table. The vibe was good and even though you have to prove vaccination, the place was full of patrons.
Had a great cocktail here, the Salt and Ash. Would definitely come back. Crowd can be loud though.

Good cocktails and beer selection. The patio is very nice, although it's often busy with private events. Service was great, good classic rock playlist.
I needed a spot to meet a friend of mine where we could talk politics. He said he would be in the Lower East Side so I scoured the map and found this place. I was hoping to grab a seat at a table in their rear area but they had it reserved for a large group. Further dampening my hopes was the fact that the area was covered following some rain. When uncovered and open to the air, I can see the area as being safer than an indoor table. It's all good though because I was granted permission to grab any table inside. I was surprised they were basically all available. Then again, it seemed like it was a really popular spot to meet and actually drink (standing) at the bar. There was a whole crowd amassed around the entire bar. I stood there patiently thinking I had to grab drinks myself but the hostess saw me and told me she'd help me out at the table (I was so glad!). I ordered the "Flawless Victory" (Bourbon, Benedictine, Malbec, Lemon, Pineapple, Ginger, Honey, Absinthe) hoping it would give me luck in the ensuing debate. I followed that up with the "Flight to Capri" (Bourbon, Campari, Cinnamon Syrup, Lemon, Pineapple). Both cocktails were great! Meanwhile, my opponent arrived so late that we really didn't get deep into it. It didn't help that the bar got louder as the night progressed. We ended up leaving after my opponent's companion fell to the floor (Drunk? High? Both? I don't know). Slip up notwithstanding, I told myself I'd be back to the Bonnie Vee for more drinks, food and the outdoor/backyard experience. Hopefully the hostess Stephanie will still be there. She was stellar, calm and well accomodating.
I was there on a cold COLD Sunday evening and stopped in to watch the NFC final and had a beer. Great looking place. Very interesting crowd although small because of the weather. They had some good music on and offered to put the game sound on for me to which I declined becuase I liked the atmosphere a lot. I will be back. The guy that owns the bar was tending and seemed to be very serious about his place but with a good sense of humor.

Great drinks and pretty patio to hang for some time. The fact they just pre-include a 20% tip (we were only a party of 3) and then when paying asking for additional 20% tip feels like a rip off. So double check the receipt.
Bonnie Vee has good drinks and a solid bartender. I have to give it that much. Otherwise I'm not quite sure why it gets crowded on some nights. It's not really a dance spot, and it's not quiet enough to chat lounge-like. There isn't even much unique character/décor. It's in that middle ground no-man's-land of bars that suffices but isn't really memorable.
Good drinks and a good staff, but this place was stupid loud. Pointlessly loud. It was impossible to have a conversation, but it's not like people were dancing. Just a bunch of people standing in circles screaming.
The appetizers seemed to be just frozen food heated up. Also got charged an automatic 20% tip for a party of 5, which would be fine if they actually told us. Instead they handed the tablet to add additional tip (additional 20%!!) as if it’s a normal transaction. Won’t be going back.
Not a bad spot for a casual hang. Decently priced. However, do avoid the wings. All three of my friends, including myself got sick after. Just stick around for drinks and go have food somewhere else.
My husband and I were looking for a place to chill and relax for a bit before continuing to explore NYC. So, we showed up a little past noon and it was pretty empty. We asked to sit out back in the patio and the waitress seemed bothered. At first I thought it was just in my head. However, more patrons started arriving and she would also hesitate. At one point, she randomly just took out "reserved" signs, placed them on all tables, and denied two girls from sitting in the sofas. Then after a while, she randomly started letting some patrons sit there. Weird. Anyways, the drinks were good. Food was also good but I think a little overpriced. We walked out with a $60 bill + tip.

Bartender kicked me out because I wanted to use the restroom before buying a round. Had to pee like a racehorse. Was also freezing cold. Pretty sure he just didnt like the way the bartender and female patron was eyeing me. Just selpent 70plus at the the bowery. Ended up walkimg 20 steps to the club next door, and made it clear i was going to buy at least one beer before bouncing. This never happend to me before in florida or NC. NY bouncers seem to take their jobs too seriously... Or at leat this one.
Doorman Friday night was very rude. I work nearby and needed to use the restroom. I said I’d buy a drink to use it. He refused. Apparently they don’t like business and lack business courtesy. Definitely take your money and spend it elsewhere.
The guy at the door was extremely rude and arrogant. Myself and 4 other girls showed up at the door, he told one of my friends to wait. He then proceeded to let 4 men in and told us 5 girls that it was “okay” and we couldn’t come in. We were celebrating a bachelorette party and we’re extremely disappointed.
