Really good food, service was unfriendly, place was nicer than in photos. Lots of choices that are ‘not common’. If you want to go for something other than butter chicken, korma, madras, and vindaloo, this is the place. We ordered one chicken with green chili and coconut (so refreshing and creamy at the same time, just yum!) and one lamb biryani (this was good as expected but the raita (yogurt dressing) was what elevated it). For deserts we ordered two things: kheer and I don’t remember the name. Even for desserts, they had uncommon ones too. If you’re feeling adventurous, come here. Service was not unfriendly and very quick! Price was reasonable!

A wide variety of Indian dishes. I was quite impressed with the digital menu presented on tablets. I wanted to try everything, but we settled on the samosas, lamb kebabs, dal me kala, garlic naan, and murgh butter masala. All excellent dishes. The mango lassi was sweet but not overpowering. All in all, it's a great restaurant.

Small simple Indian food location. Only my second time eating Indian food but had great direction for co-workers. Had a wide array of appetizers and main course meals ranging from vegetarian to meat and seafood dishes. All had different spice levels, but nothing over bearing. Drinks were great and service was on point and very attentive for party of 10. Was told very authentic from my Indian co-workers. Drinks were good as well, and all was reasonably priced. Will definitely come back. Sorry not my best photos and doesn’t do justice.

My Indian friends brought me to their favorite restaurant for lunch. As soon as we sat down everyone is handed a tablet with a live menu. Very cool. There is a huge selection on the lunch menu. Lunch includes your selection plus veggie of the day (aloo chole), Dahl, rice and naan or roti. Plenty of vegan and veggie options. We had mixed grill, aloo gobi, chole, salmon tandoori and paneer madras. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. Highly recommended.

Came here with some friends over the weekend, wow what a great experience. Food: unfortunately, I don't have the names of any of the food in front of me, but everything was absolutely delicious. A well-spiced cauliflower dish, slow-cooked chicken, delicious paneer, and garlic naan made for some amazing dishes that also felt extremely light on the stomach. Service: service was excellent between all of the waiters that came on by and helped. Aesthetic: the outside, which looks like most NYC storefronts hid a very beautiful interior with spacious seating and a nice, relaxing feel to it.

PROs - awesome food , good service CONs- nothing much .. less options in lunch special but covers mostly the basic stuff A 5 star review restaurant . One of the very famous restaurants in NY city and it didn’t disappoint me ! Good ambience . The whole of the interiors was colorful and very bright . Nice lighting .. good service too .. of course it’s mostly for visitors and whoever works on NY and hence you can’t expect parking here . They also have a full fledged bar with draft beers on tap. They have both veg and non-veg items and i went for a veg lunch special meal . They don’t have a full fledged thali , but they give rice , naan, dhal, chole and whatever dish you order with it .. wish they had a dessert added to the lunch special , which would have made it a complete meal :) . I went for bhagara mirchi bhainghan (egg plant ) and it was top notch . Amazing spice and flavor . Dhal was simple and very delicious . Like a Punjabi dhal. Chole was good too. They gave me 3 pieces of naan 🫓 and it was sumptuous. Couldn’t eat much of rice but it was a stomach full meal . Not many veggie options in lunch special 1 they had about 8 different curries , but it covers all regular curries . Very good experience .. thumbs up 👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first time going a indian resturant outside of having butter chcicken and man it was good. I went with the adrak ke panje which is lamb seassioned and man that was amazing. It was savory yet fulling and i use some of sauce i had for a apptenizer and that was a amazing combo ate everything off the bone i was not dispointed and will come back one of these days to try more of the menu.

I had a great experience here. The place and the staff was great! I did like the food but was expecting the peanut butter meal I had to taste a little more like peanut butter. It was still delicious along with the drinks. OMG that sour apple martini was the bomb . com! It tasted soooooo good. I may go back there just for that and the chickpea appetizer that also was so good!

The food was an absolute delight, offering a wide array of flavors and textures. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its ability to create seven distinct dishes that we ordered, each with its own unique aroma and mouthfeel. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a culinary adventure.

Great food! Fair prices. I love the taste and the spices. Solid 5 stars no complaints whatsoever. Would recommend absolutely. Try their fried rice and put some spicy sauce they have at their tables... absolute gem

Delicious, no frills. I used to come here regularly when I lived next to it, and I just returned years later. The main chef apparently returned to China ~1 year ago, but the dishes were just as I remembered. I see they've expanded into other locations, good for them. This location is the original.

As authentic and hole in the wall as it gets, and as tasty as it gets. My friend took me here twice, once in 2018 and once in 2023, and I am so happy to have witnessed this establishment survive through the pandemic because it absolutely deserves it. The place barely had spaces so we had to wait until someone left, but luckily people would be in and out anyway, just like they would back in China. Once again, the vibes were screaming China in all manners not only from the store, but also from the customers. Every dish I have had was a hit. The chicken with chili sauce had very authentic chili sauce and lots of pieces of chicken and was just amazing. I don't really have any words to describe it because it was just authentically good, if that makes sense. The noodles were great as well with a lot of flavor, and tasted just like what I would have when I was in China. Again, I don't know how else to describe how good it was. One really needs to try it to know what I mean. With so many restaurants in New York, I may still choose to come back here because it's economical and has quality food, both of which probably factors allowing this establishment to survive through the pandemic. Highly recommend!

😆👌👍The fired golden tofu is to die for. It’s so crispy outside and so tender & juicy inside! Don’t miss it~ the real hidden 💎 The potato salad is churchy & tasty. Really special.

A coworker recommended me this place, and I finally got to try it! It did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the wonton soup!! I would have it again!!! My husband got the chicken fried rice which was good too! Not too spicy! They have a wide variety for all tastes at a good price! The jasmine drink is my favorite! 💯 recommended!

One of the best "hole in the walls" I've found in NYC. Mainly have noodle soups but they're delicious. The chili oil wontons were also amazing, we had to order a second one since everybody loved them so much.

Great prices, fast service, delicious food! The texture of the noodles was amazing and the broth was very flavorful. I got the pork intestines and that was great as well.

Best wontons I've ever had and incredible noodle soup! The beef was very tender, and the spicy soup is so good 🍲 The people were also very amiable :) I had to get more to bring home after finishing my meal

Was looking for a bowl of noodle soup in the area and this place did NOT disappoint. Authentic flavors at a great price point. Have had a lot of great noodle soup places in Queens but this place definitely takes the cake for Manhattan. Got the spicy beef noodle soup with spicy wontons. It was just spicy enough where it was enjoyable and super flavorful. Staff were kind and food came out quick. Would highly recommend to anybody in the area looking for some quick, high quality food!

Was staying in the area and was craving some hot noodle soup for a cold night. Found this gem on Yelp and it didn't disappoint! Took it to go. Packaged well and was still nice and hit when I got back to the place I was staying at. Soup was just spicy enough and the meat was super soft and tender. Spicy wontons were also really tasty!

Absolutely delicious rice noodles, we got spicy lamb rice noodle, spicy beef tripe noodle soup, and spicy chicken noodles. Very quick service. Only negative is that seating is pretty limited. Definitely coming back and recommending

A rare, precious and authentic Chinese restaurant in Midtown Manhattan! Very Delicious food with a very good price. I recommend everything we ordered: Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Lamb Rice Noodle, Braised Pork Feet, Cucumber Salad.

Delicious, just what we were looking for in a spicy beef noodle soup and spicy wonton. Their slice is so tasty! We ordered spicy, go with mild if you just want a hint, but I thought it was manageable. Small hole in the wall type of restaurant, but open kitchen so you see it all. They do, however, accept credit card. Wonton ($9.95 for 10 units) were big and fresh, and the chili oil complimented well. Beef noodle soup ($11.95) has the most tender beef ever, good soup and condiments, not my favorite type of noodle, but overall a 10.

This hole in the wall authentic spicy beef noodle soup shop is the best in the city. A true hind den gem for genuine home Pa Pa cooking. It is a small yet mighty shop. There were only three tables before Covid. Now, there is only one table for outdoor dining and dose mainly takeouts. However, the spicy beef noodle soup is worthy the troubles. And the dumplings in red chili oil are smooth, meaty, and have a nice kick. Not a fancy place but absolutely fabulous.

Local traditional Indian restaurant that has been in Murray Hill for years. The food has plenty of flavor and there a lot of options to choose from. Servers are great and very attentive. The place has a more modern bright design aesthetic. The only unfortunate part is everything is a la carte so it does add up quickly. If you do find yourself frequenting the restaurant you should join their rewards program.

We ordered samosas , dum chicken biryani , baingan and sag paneer . All were nicely cooked and marinated . I could actually see eggplants and was not excess of masala’s .only one change was that the chicken Tika masala was a bit tangy and sweet for my taste . The goan fish was not sure really goan and lacked coconut taste imho.

Went here on a Friday in the early evening with a pulsd deal. We had a reservation but if you're just coming in for a meal, you don't need one. The place was not busy around 6pm on the Friday we came. The service was attentive, the food was absolutely outstanding and the pricing was decent for NYC. My only complaint was that the non-rice entrees do not come with a side of rice, so you have to order it separately, which does increase the cost of the meal. Still worth it because everybody was so flavorful and my chicken korma was so unbelievably tender. Excited to go again!

A Royal Feast, with a Few Bumps Along the Way Let’s be clear: Indian food in New York is a battlefield. A relentless, chaotic, spice-laden warzone where only the strong survive. And Chote Nawab? It fights the good fight. Nestled in the heart of Curry Hill, this unassuming spot serves up bold, unapologetic flavors that can transport you straight to the streets of Lucknow—if only for a moment. The galouti kebab is the first thing you should order. A dish with history, once crafted for toothless Nawabs who still craved the indulgence of rich, spiced meat. Here, it melts—actually melts—on the tongue, each bite a whisper of cinnamon, clove, and smoke. Paired with a delicate ulte tawa paratha, it’s a testament to the kitchen’s skill. The biryani arrives in a tightly sealed pot, fragrant steam escaping as it’s cracked open. The rice is well-spiced, layered with saffron and the deep warmth of cardamom, but it leans a little too wet, missing that elusive balance of fluffiness and density that makes great biryani a spiritual experience. Good? Yes. Transcendent? Not quite. The lamb chops? A thing of beauty. Charred, fatty, perfectly cooked, the kind of dish you pick up with your hands because a knife and fork feel like an insult. Spiced yogurt clings to the meat, a crust of heat and tang that’s meant to be devoured. Service is… let’s call it “relaxed.” This is not a place for the impatient. Dishes arrive when they arrive, and sometimes that means a gap long enough to question your life choices. But then the food lands, and all is forgiven—mostly. Chote Nawab is not a temple of fine dining, nor does it try to be. It’s loud, it’s imperfect, but it’s also deeply satisfying. A meal here is a journey through the heat and soul of North India, with a few bumps along the road. Four stars, with a knowing nod to the power of spice, smoke, and history. Would I return? Absolutely. Would I demand my biryani be just a little drier next time? Without a doubt.

Nice Indian restaurant located in "curry hill" serving halal meat with large portion sizes and fair pricing. Went with a group of friends and we split the meat platter and each got a dum biryani. The serivce was decent, they recommended us the meat platter to share with the group which was solid. But also they finessed us into ordering bottled water which was not free, I guess we should have asked but they also didn't offer tap water as an option and went straight to bottles. Other than that the waiter was friendly, funny, and gave good service. Meat platter was delicious but could have had had some more prawns (only found 2), otherwise meat was marinated very well and was tender and juicy. The real reason we were here was for the biryani, again felt like they could have clarified the size of the dum because for our party of 5 we each ordered 1 dum when in reality we all could have comfortably shared 2, and 3 dums would have been more than enough. Since we were traveling and wouldn't be able to take leftovers we felt pressured to finish the food as we didn't want to waste. Honestly this was a huge mistake and why I give the food a 3 star rating. The food tasted good and quality seemed OK but after forcing myself to finish the dum I got extremely sick for the rest of the night and next day which was a nightmare to deal with while traveling. My friends did not get as sick as me but also didn't feel good either. Unfortunate ending to an otherwise great dinner.

We came here for dinner around 6pm on a weekday and it wasn’t too busy at the start, so reservations probably aren’t needed at that time. The server was pretty friendly and there were a lot of items on the menu to choose from, with all of the food being halal. We tried the Bade Miya Peshkash from the tandoor section of the menu. It’s a mix of a different types of kababs, including chicken, lamb, beef, and shrimp. Most of them were tasty. We also got the Murgh Korma Zafrani, a chicken dish with a creamy saffron nut sauce. It was super flavourful. I also recommend getting the chilli oil naan to have with your meal - they’re a bit on the pricey side but delicious. I would say the quantities of the dishes are large and we left feeling very full.

I haven’t been in person but actually surprised that it looks good in photos, I ordered online. Chicken Nawabi lollipop isn’t good on delivery, Had high expectations. It wasnt cooked well. May be in person would be better. Hakka Noodles are the most close taste to indo-Chinese noodles I have tasted all over Ny so thats dope Machruian was fine, big size middle part is Actually very dry, taste is good and authentic though. Will visit in person for sure

Burp Bowl is a complete hole in the wall, but the food is incredibly delicious and authentic. Seriously, it feels like you're stepping into a restaurant in China. I've been numerous times now and my favourites are their beef noodle soup, which has a savoury beef broth and tender chunks of beef, and the sliced beef tripe appetizer, which has notes of sweetness and spiciness. The beef trip noodle soup and pork tongue were also great, but not as good as the beef noodle soup and sliced beef tripe appetizer. I did not like the wontons in chili oil, since it literally just came in a bowl of oil. And if you're a vegetarian, they have a delicious veggie noodle soup, which pairs super well with the chili crisps they have in-house.

I actually liked it. My first time here. We love tasting different restaurants and this one was satisfying. My chinese friend has already eaten here and wanted me to try. I surely liked it. Really authentic and tasted different and good. The only issue is the space. If u have to eat in, you need to be early . True value for money too. Overall a good eat.

I had seen videos of this Indian halal restaurant in Tiktok. Was not that sure about it if I want to try it out. I had a appointment near this restaurant & thought let’s give it a try. Looks nice & clean, small restaurant tho. Stuff were nice. Now the main part the food; I love our kinda food & I was very disappointed. Altho the presentation was pretty but the taste not so good! I ordered chicken 65, shrimp Nawabi, & kheer. Altho shrimp Nawabi came with nan, rice, mixed vegetable dish, beans. Still only thing I liked was the chicken 65. Price was reasonable. And yes as a Muslim I didn’t like the fact that they serve alcohol, but I do understand that it’s good for business! Including some pictures just to show how everything looks.Because it was very small it was almost full & I just didn’t want to other customers so don’t have too many snaps. So I decided to give this place another try , and wasn’t disappointed! Loved the food. Customer service was great. So changed my review to 4 star then 3.

Keep your jackets in your car if you don’t want them to smell of spices on your way out. If you spent a 100 dollars on your blowout, your date will only smell Andhra spices in your hair. This is Indian food as-is, full on spices and flavors. The spices hit you the minute you open the door and walk in. This is what they do well at a very decent price point. All traditional “restaurant” dishes served as expected. This is not the food Indians eat everyday (they would die of heart disease and Diabetes). This is raw, authentic, flavor rich, spicy and hot food. If you have that kind of craving, this is THE joint. Come here and get over that craving and don’t complain! Naans are average. Roti’s are average. Food taste is still what you expect with that dish (except 1-2 notches up on the spice). Cocktails are below average. A friend shared with me a tip; that with Indian restaurants the trick is to stick with the first page or their "signature drinks" only. As far as I’m concerned I go for beer or standard straight drinks at places like these. Nothing deathly serious or exciting cocktail wise. One gin, one vodka, one tequila based cocktail...etc..No balance or delicateness but tolerable. Bar tending, unfortunately has gone the way of the Barista nowadays. Standard mix pre-mixed, pre-bottled, stored on site. You order and they just pour. In its category it is a great place for a great price and easy to find reservations. The staff is polite and service is average. They do modify the dish here and there. They provide onions and pickle etc. Share your dishes with two others else you will have takeout left. No matter how many times you go, they have the same consistency in cooking as well. Expect to get home and slumber for 14 hours!

Good things first.. very nice ambiance, clean and well mannered staffs. Options for liquor is also available. All the food is served in very appealing manner. Now the actual taste part. If you are an Indian food fan and taste is your thing, this place is not for you. I came to this place after reading few good reviews and looking at their menu (admittedly, they do have a very nice food collection) but taste was not that I expected. That said, I would not recommend this place for who is looking for an authentic Indian food taste.

L
Lakshmamma Yadavally

Visited this place with four friends and honestly, it was a complete disappointment. The soup tasted like warm, colored water with zero flavor. The Hakka noodles were so bland it felt like we were chewing on plain boiled noodles straight out of a packet. And the naan? I’ve had frozen supermarket naan that tastes 10x better than whatever they’re serving here. For the ridiculously high prices they’re charging, you’d expect at least decent food but this was nowhere close. Absolutely not worth the money. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

The cashier charged me $1 for each to go box! This is absurd. Ordered dine in - spicy chicken fried rice and beef noodle soup. Both were prepared in less than 60second. The fried rice is worse than the frozen fried rice from Costco. The noodles tasted worse than instant noodles. No customer service but still charged tips upfront!

Lisa Z

the food is too cheap, it looks like someone drink half of my soup, and my beef noodle looks like only 2 pieces of beef in there. will never ever order it again.:( This is not a good way for doing the business.

S B
S B

Would not order again, I got wayyyy too much of thin noodles and very tiny portions of beef stew meat in my noodle soup order(where is the beef?)First time ordering and probably the last time as well. Take out delivery customers should get the same portions as Dine-in customers(we paid more for your service & delivery fee +tips)Noodle Soup broth was good & yummy, thin noodles was tender not soggy but skipping your customer's portion of the meat is beyond is disappointing. Beef stew noodles does not look like your photographs at all. Had better beef stew from another westside noodles restaurant.
