Came in during our trip from the UK. Friendly welcome and attentive waiting staff. Choice of food is great with everything freshly cooked. I had English tea which was topped up regularly. Affordable beer and iced water poured on arrival. Very clean and everywhere smelled clean. We will definitely eat here again after being ripped off a few times over on 7th avenue. Well worth walking 2 blocks west if you are staying on 7th. Thankyou
A warm welcome the second we walked in the door. By the time we ordered until food on the tables about seven minutes. We there on a busy afternoon. We walked in the door with no weight at all. Staff was very attentive. When they come back to New York, we’ll definitely eat here again one of those affordable places I’ve seen in the city to eat.
I wanted somewhere I could eat where I did not have to sit at the counter as a solo customer and this is the perfect place. Visited for breakfast one day and lunch another. Definitely recommend. Food is great and the staff at really attentive.
We had breakfast in this place and it was very nice! The service was really quick. The waiter offered a goodie bag without us having to ask so that was really toughtfull. I've ordered an iced cappuchino and french toast. Both were perfect! If youre looking to have a quick, delicious breakfast at a calm cozy place I would def recommend to visit.
I met some friends for dinner here and we had a wonderful meal. It is conveniently located near many theaters and several subway lines. The service was friendly and quicl and the owner stopped by several times to make sure that we were comfortable with the temperature and overall atmosphere as well as with the food and service.
There are so few places left on earth that feel truly authentic. We are so consumed by how many 5 star reviews somewhere got, or if it’s been sprinkled with magic influencer dust that I think we’ve forgotten to appreciate things for exactly who and what they are. The Cosmic Diner is EVERYTHING. The food is exactly what you would expect it to be, which is greasy and no frills and served with diner coffee and creamer in the little rip off containers - the delightful opposite of artisanal. The waiters are gruff. The food comes out in 6 minutes. The owner is there greeting everyone who walks in the door. This place has REGULARS, older people who are clearly here every day with their newspapers and their talking points about baseball and city life and their health ailments. It’s like time stopped here for a minute, and smartphones haven’t been invented yet, and maybe Jerry and George and his pals may waltz in from the 90s at any minute. You don’t come to places like this for a michellin meal - you come to remember what it was like when the world was slower, to sit with neighbors as they share their weekly breakfast, or to be an observer, like me, a person who isn’t from here but is so grateful that places like the Cosmic Diner still exist. Give them a visit. Take a moment to time travel.
Pretty good food, the waffles and shake were good. While not the best its certainly a convenient place, I would return to try more dishes. Get ready to be full
This is a great local diner in midtown on 8th ave. The place is clean, service is fast and efficient and the food quality is great. This is a quality example of what a "local Diner" should be. Its been around for ages and caters to the people who live nearby, the stagehands who work the Broadway theatres and talk show venues and to the tourists wise enough to walk slightly farther from Times Square to get a meal. Today I had the Corned Beef Hash and over medium eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly, the english muffin was oversized and they even have marmalade instead of the grape jelly. The service was quick, polite and efficient while the price was beyond fair for a New York City Brunch. This place is worth going to if you want a decent meal at a reasonable NYC price served by people who are good at what they do. Yup, its a great NYC local diner.
We stopped in on a Saturday morning I didn't have any problem being seated immediately. The place was very clean and the service was excellent. Typical Diner menu. I got the western omelette with hash browns and I would definitely eat there again. My wife got the oatmeal that came with strawberries on it. There were actually a lot more strawberries, but by the time I took the picture, most of them were gone! I think I counted 12 on there before she began eating.
We had breakfast and lunch here almost every morning during our vacation. Amazing greek cusine. Very familiar tastes. As Turkish man; I love my Greek friends and our Greek neighbors. This is a great spot! We went in at 8:30am on a Saturday with no wait. The staff was very friendly and attentive. A man who we believe was the owner stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was good, which it was! My boyfriend said they made the best cup of coffee he's had on our vacation (and had 3 cups). I got french toast and he got pancakes with over-easy eggs. The food was cooked just right; the portions were generous but not too much; and everything tasted great. We'll definitely be back, and we highly recommend!

Delicious Food, very fresh Salmon, very big Deluxe Bagel - yes you have to put it together on your own, like many other breakfast Plates. Special Chili con Carne Omelette - soooo good! Good Service, fair Price for the Food! Next time in New York we‘ll come again.
I had two eggs, bacon, and French Toast called the French Toast Lumberjack. Very, very good bacon and the eggs were good in the French Toast was filling. I also had a small orange juice and out the door with tip was $33. I guess that’s what you expect in New York City. It was nice to sit in the window watching the handsome cabs go by.
It’s funny how it didn’t show in the guides, and we just found it out passing by. Super nice Greek owner welcomes you with an open smile and a friendly joke, and takes you to old style diner tables. Huge portions, comfort food to start the day. Prices are good, especially considering the region and the quality of the meals. Not fancy, it’s rather a warm embrace. Definitely recommend it.

Very busy. Quiet pricey if I compare what I get and how much I paid. As for the service, I would do my best to explain that it is the kind of place where you feel the pressure of "move on" wothout saying it. For instance, there is nothing that I hate the most than getting the check without asking for it. That is why I didn't feel like giving a generous tip.
