I would like to correct myself about the name that I mentioned in the video! Alright! Now: This place is amazing, the food is super tasty and perfect to the palate, the atmosphere is cozy and chill and also the staff is super kind and welcoming! Great experience! Coming back soon!

Since coming from Australia this Bangali restaurant has given me and my whole family the best restaurant experience ever (especially since this place is in NYC). Amazing food, sweet customer service, ambiance is beautiful, food served at a perfect speed, and clean too!!

This place is adorable. Relaxing, laid back no frills vibe. Excellent food. Plenty of seating upstairs with lots of natural light from large windows.

An inexpensive treat. The garlic Naan is really fluffy. Like eating a cloud. I always get Palak Paneer at every Indian restaurant, and theirs is decent. Had some Matar Paneer and those peas were really good. Fresh. Oh, but the upstairs eating area is sorta the whole fun of eating here imo. Unique place. Go.

🥘 Ordered the lunch combo - lamb tikka masala, rice, and a side spinach. Also came with naan. It was very delicious and filling. The portion sizes were huge. 🛎️ Service was good. Everyone seemed friendly. The inside wasn’t attractive in my opinion, but that was the lower floor. I didn’t dine in nor visit upstairs. Still worth a visit.

I was debating with my Hubby if this was a hole in the wall. I said yes. He said no. Maybe you have to visit and see for yourself. Really glad we came here for lunch. The place got busy and the food was a good. We were mesmerized by the naan being made seen through the window from the street. That’s what brought us in. Curry in a Hurry is definitely a speedy food place. It’s a take out counter with all the food already cooked. The dessert case was a highlight. So good!

Do you want the best? then eat here. Indian food that elevated my mood to another level. I can’t imagine how it could possibly taste any better especially at midnight.

This place is super fun. It's unassuming and quiet, but it provides a comfortable and welcoming respite from the business of midtown. Located a few minutes down the way from the empire state building, Curry in a hurry is on a block with a bunch of other authentic Indian restaurants, boutiques, and grocery stores. The service really is quick! The portions are big and there's a fun little salad bar, with chutneys and even some dessert. Definitely recommend this quirky spot for an easy and yummy lunch.

PROs - food , space to dine in, location CONs- not much , slightly expensive than other restaurants nearby Was in Lexington and craving for Indian food .. lots and lots of options nearby but wanted to try curry in hurry .. I went in and saw options and they had a wide range of food available . Meal options were available too. Veggie meal was about 16$ and meat was close to 21$ including water bottle . Average price in this location but slightly expensive .. service was good. .. lots of space inside to sit and eat . 2nd floor had so many tables and lots of space .. The meal comes with a naan, rice , veggie curry and meat curry . Food quantity was really good. Roti was so soft ! Went well with meat curry . Taste was reallyyyyy good. Spinach curry was good too. They had other veggie options too. I’ll surely go back and try again. Liked it overall.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you are starving and want to get the maximum amount of food with some variety this is the place for you to spend 15 bucks and likely have enough for an entire day food. They have ample seating upstairs. Plenty of good vegetarian and non-veg options and Indian appetizers (samosa including beef, chicken and veg ($2), Pakora ($1) and desserts like jalebi, gulab jamin etc. Staff are also very friendly and helpful. Is it amazing Indian food? no, but it will definitely do. The combination platter is the best deal. The eggplant, curry, paneer and peas, chicken masala, naan and rice were all decent.

6/28/22: Had the chicken Tikka masala with naan bread. The chicken was ok but bland and a bit watery (too little spice and cream). The naan was good as they make it fresh and per my request they made it well done. The first floor is a total dump and needs a complete renovation. The second floor seating area is much better and actually has a nice view of the street corner, but that still wouldn't make it worth it for me to return to this restaurant.

I would like to draw the attention of the management and all the customers of this restaurant. Today at 2 PM, while I was eating, a Bengali girl and a Bengali waiter treated me very rudely. Please be careful when you order something and observe their behavior. I am so hurt by this incident that I don't think I will ever come to this restaurant again.

⭐ 0 Star "Must read review" 👇 I visited this restaurant expecting authentic Indian food, but I was disappointed with both the experience and the attitude of the staff. When I approached the cashier to grab a couple of samosas, and before buying, I asked the cashier if they were fresh and how long they’d been sitting out. Instead of answering politely, he brushed it off and said, “Bro, this is not India, we have everything fresh here.” As an Indian, that comment honestly felt disrespectful. I was just asking a simple question about the food, not trying to compare anything. What made it worse was his attitude after that. He started bragging about how much business they do, saying they sell hundreds of items and have constant walk-ins, like that somehow made it okay to talk down to a customer. It doesn’t matter how busy a place is or how much they sell; every customer still deserves respect. One negative experience can speak louder than hundreds of sales. I’ve been here before and tried their chicken curry, which honestly didn’t taste like an Indian curry at all. That first visit already disappointed me, but I decided to give them another chance this time just for some samosas. Unfortunately, this visit was even worse. After giving them two chances, I can honestly say it’s not worth it. The food isn’t authentic, the service is poor, and the attitude is unacceptable. Not worth spending a single penny here. Also, even though the place is called an Indian restaurant, it’s actually run by people from Bangladesh and serves mostly Bangladeshi food. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it feels misleading when you use India’s name while not honoring what it represents. A little honesty and kindness would go a long way here.

They do not give cash discount at all when they say; cash discount of 3.5 percent. If they are not gonna honour what they say, they shouldn’t display the written sign in the store.

Nope. Not the Curry in a Hurry I used to know 20 years ago. Saltless, tasteless, stale “fare” (I cannot even call it Indian food) bastardized to meet the palate of the local non-Indian customers. A thousand other real Indian restaurants nearby. The claim to be “authentic” is an outright lie. Masala Dosa - 0/10 Sambar - 0/10 Dal curry - 1/10 Beef kabob - 1/10 Naan - 4/10 Beef and veggie samosa - 1/10

most disgusting food I have ever purchased. I had to throw it out. I have enjoyed Indian food many many times. This was gross oily , tasteless . lentil soup was watery and oily. Spinach dish was vomit worthy I only put one star as you must to post.

I used to be an avid customer of curry in a hurry. But the place has gone downhill since Covid. We used to come here for years since 2013. They’ve always had great consistent food. Now the food tastes very bland and very generic. It seems they have changed their chefs and they also got rid of the salad condiment bar. They used to have a functioning soda fountain machine too. Their bathroom is 40 years old and feels as if nobody has cleaned it. Overall don’t recommend unless you have no other option. Right across the street, is a better Indian restaurant in Chote nawab. Yes it is slightly more expensive but it’s definitely worth it considering the prices you will pay at curry in a hurry. Hopefully the restaurant takes customer feedback, improves their food quality and maintains affordable prices so they can go back to what they were 10-12 years ago..
