Opinions de Frank's Trattoria New York
SUCH a hidden gem!! and amazing delicious affordable plates. Super low key and down to earth spot but the food is incredible. Also $12 can get you a loaded peruvian chicken plate… can’t find this type of deal anywhere else in manhattan. Recommend their peruvian chicken, their la positiva sandwich and their juices are all made fresh!
New York is full of neighborhood gems, and Jugos is one of them. While the name would suggest this is just a juice bar it’s actually a Peruvian grilled chicken joint. I am pretty confident this place has been here for some time, but I only just noticed that there are beautiful flowers outside under the umbrellas on their sidewalk patio. They even sell fresh flowers
Highly recommend the espresso drinks with the house made cashew milk!! Amazing! Fresh, delicious ingredients. Amazing place for select vegan and gluten free options as well! The smoothies are delicious and filling. The grilled chicken is the best I’ve ever had, and love the salads. Even though I’m not a big salad eater, could eat one here everyday if I was rolling in the Benjamins. This place is all love. Thanks for such an incredible place to nourish our body and souls!! ❤️❤️❤️
Very good grilled chicken. Got a rice bowl and everything g tasted really fresh. Portions are generous. A nice healthy spot for a quick meal
What a hidden gem. Healthy and pretty affordable and so GOOD their grilled chicken is really moist and tender. $10 for this giant sandwhich w 2 chicken breasts and half an avocado on it
Awesome bowls for lunch! They totally renovated the old place Lucky Chicken and made it a cool spot for Latin sandwiches, smoothies, and coffee!
Absolutely love this place! Such a gem in the spot of the old Lucky Chicken in East Gramercy. Serving fresh juices & smoothies, breakfast and lunch bits + coffee AND some of the best Peruvian Style Chicken & sides at a great price. Great service, awesome staff and good quality food! Get the whole chicken & 4 sides or half chicken with 2 sides - totally can’t go wrong - all flame grilled 🙌🏼❤️🤘🏼🔥
Picked up lunch at Jugos for the first time today. I ordered a whole chicken with four sides. It was a great deal and the food was very delicious. This is my first time trying the place since they converted from the former restaurant Lucky chicken. I will come back for sure.
One of the best lunches I've ever had. I had the grilled chicken, yellow rice with red beans, salad, avocado and maduros. Delicious! I will drive from the Bronx to bring my wife so she can experience this amazing food!
My fav spot in the area! The food is so fresh and the cold brew is the best I’ve had here in nyc. Everything is made to order though so if you’re in a rush best to call in beforehand.
This has so much more than juice and smoothies- sandwiches, salads, with fresh ingredients. BLT always wins. Also love the chicken combo option with a ton of sides to choose from - avocado salad and maduros are 😋This has quickly become a favorite local place of mine. Sometimes they give little samples of chia pudding or juices with your order! Always love going hear for something quick but fresh
Jugos is bomb it is fresh healthy the chicken is always juice guac never brown the bowls are huge and I always have left over. Multiple flavors in each dish SHINING. Music always vibin!!! It’s just a SOLID choice, I love you guys!! It’s right near work for me so it’s a getaway, the plants inside and outside are gorgeous you can tell they care about quality ingredients from the love they put in their shop.
I've only been a few times, but each was wonderful. Tucked behind a pizzeria, I missed it for years. Real old-school famiglia place, veal and chicken are offered in so many styles I used AI instead of asking. Seafood is also well done. The crowd is far more old-school than you're likely to see in Little Italy, anymore. No kidding, if you have guests visiting NY, it's one of the best possible options: the real deal.
We order from here often and occasionally eat in the restaurant. It is great, classic, "red sauce" Italian food. Consistently good, friendly and fast service, and always hits the spot. We love the pasta with pesto sauce, eggplant parm, & penne vodka. But really you can't go wrong with anything you get.
This is a hidden gem. You enter and it looks like a little fast-eat pizza shop, but the back door opens up to an old school classical and intimate nyc italian restaurant. I ordered the chicken francese with linguini which was so tender and juicy and sauce was cooked to perfection (mind you this is one of my favorite dishes ever- hard critic) and fried calamari which was also great. Staff was super attentive.
Ordered a chicken parm (delivered). Although a generous portion, at a fair price, the taste...three stars. Chicken was not seasoned, just breaded, and bread was not authentic Italian (just some super soft and very cheap, super bleached, floured bread). The sauce on it was fair, and sandwich had plenty of cheese.
Hidden gem in the back of the restaurant (oddly the front is a basic pizza slice place). Very old school, super sweet and attentive staff. Yummy solid Italian classic dishes for a fair price. If you want a relaxed and cozy Italian spot (that's not trendy or chic), this place is perfect.
We’ve been ordering from this place for years. Not the best NY slice but a decent slice. prefer my tomato sauce base slightly sweeter, and theirs is slightly on the salty side- that’s a matter of individual preference. That said, the ingredients are always fresh. My brother is obsessed with the Frank’s Special (mushroom, arugula, oregano), and usually wants to order that every time he’s home visiting. The quality when you get a whole pie is hit or miss. Sometimes it’s so greasy the middle sort of sinks in, and the ingredients sort of just slides off when you pick up the slice. Tonight was a hit night: ingredients were beautifully laid out, the center wasn’t overly heavy and greasy, and the crust was thin and crispy. The customer service is also very hit or miss. The guys making the pizzas are all SUPER nice - and you can see they’re very hardworking. There’s usually an older lady at the cashier handling the money that’s definitely on the rude side, and I’ve definitely been ignored by her multiple times over the years - pretty sure it’s because I’m Asian American, and not because she’s having a bad day, because there have been times when she’s rude to me but turned around and been highly courteous to whatever white person behind me. Her rudeness has definitely contributed to my choosing to walk an extra avenue over to Lunetta when I’m hungry and just want two slices. But like I said, the brother likes their Frank’s Special and craves it, so I brace myself and go get it a few times a year. Sort of used to it by now, and somewhat expected everytime we order from them and I go to pick up. When she’s not there, like tonight when I went, it truly is a sigh of relief, and it was a delightful experience, complete w a “thank you and enjoy your pizza” from the guy who handed me my pie.
Plain slice was 3 bucks. Good overall. Large. Crispy. Lacking a bit of sauce. Chicken parm sandwich was only 8.50. Can’t beat that price. Took 30 mins. Bread was fresh. Good sauce. Thin chicken and not enough but still the sandwich gets the job done. 4 stars and I will be going back. Outdoor dining available. Once this COVID is over I will try the indoor dining. Cool old school vibes
Love the food. It’s fresh, flavorful and made to order, although they are always late in pickup orders. Maybe they need more employees? Drinks are disgusting. I’ve had the Cortado and Matcha latte and trust me when I say they were undrinkable. Cafe inside is cute, reminds me of Miami, and they play good music.
Recently, my daughter asked for Frank’s pizza, which made me really happy. She has sensory processing disorder and is an extremely selective eater, so when she’s excited about eating, it feels like a real win. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. She is very visually driven with food, so choosing her slice is important to her. The man behind the counter appeared annoyed when she tried to select her slices, insisted they were all the same, and was impatient despite her being polite and calm. It felt unnecessarily harsh, especially toward a child. It’s frustrating because the pizza is good, but the consistently grumpy and unfriendly attitude from this particular staff member makes the experience unpleasant. I couldn’t help but think how different it would have been back when Luigi’s was open down the street. The owner there was incredibly kind and patient and would have happily accommodated her. Good food matters, but kindness and basic patience matter too, especially when kids are involved.
I was the only customer, and I waited 20+ minutes for a $13 smoothie - when I asked the cashier why it took this long she replied « we had no carrots ». No apologies or smile.
Bad. They never have the items on their menu. If you go early, they didn’t make the sauces yet. If you go a little later like 2:00pm…. They tell you they are sold out. When I asked why I could never come at the right time they spoke in Spanish and made fun of me. I was incredibly embarrassed as I had tried Togo many different times throughout the day on Nemerov’s occasions. So sadly I would say do NOT travel there thinking you will be able to order what you want. The employees will laugh at you and or tell you that you can buy the chicken. (Which is the only thing they have left. So sad as I was excited about this place. Going back to my tried and true NYC Spanish food establishments.
The fried chicken sandwich is just grocery store frozen breaded tenders. The latte was terrible. The customer service wasn’t the worst I’ve seen but it honestly wasn’t great. 2 stars b/c the ambiance and the other parts of the food (salad, sauce) was good.
Ordered lunch to be delivered to my office and I have never been so disappointed to receive my lunch. The arepa isn’t an arepa at all. No cheese on top, but instead crumbled in a tiny container. I’ve seen tacos thicker than this arepa. Thought I’d give this place a try but won’t be ordering from here again.
Quite possibly the worst “food” I’ve had in NY. The salad had absolutely no dressing on it and the dressing on the side was congealed. The chicken, which should be amazing given it’s the specialty, was beyond dry and 90% bone. One woman was slowly working while 3 other men were in and out of the restaurant doing very little. Avoid avoid avoid
I remember when this place first opened, it was my go-to for lunch almost every day. Most recently I tried calling to place an order for pick up, a young lady came to the phone, kept me on hold for 5 minutes, never came back. I hanged up, and tried calling literally 5 times, someone picked up, then hanged up and the other times no one picked up. It would be nice if they could improve customer service.

I was charged 18 dollars for a single slice, this is the second time they did this. I asked to see how much I paid because of the last time and it said 4.25 (crazy overpriced btw) I paid and then the next day I checked my balance and I had no money. Turns out I was charged 18 dollars for a single slice of pizza.
Ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti and a chicken parm hero. Both had the same issue — the chicken was rubbery and tough. Really disappointing. I’d suggest sourcing your meats from somewhere else.
The woman in there was forcing us out and using her hands to push me and my friends out. It was not a playful push and the man that worked there was very disrespectful towards us. Paying 4.50 for a slice is not worth it
I'm taking legal action against this pizzeria. I'd suggest you never use your card here. Came for a simple slice and soda and they're adding tip on the discarded receipt. I'm not the only one. And im sure it's happening often and people aren't realizing it. This place is going downnnn
I went there a few days ago to get two slices and a can of soda the price was $10.05. Days later I receive that the price has been update to $18.15! Be careful using your card there. I’ve never had this happened before and I’ve been there a few times. Really disappointed because I won’t be going back there.
Ordered a pizza off the website and it never came. Called them and they said they did not have the pizza i ordered on their menu. Took them half an hour to look up my order and they blamed me for using the website. Why even give us the option to order that way? When the pizza finally came (over 2 hours) it was good. The service left a bad taste in my mouth.
Dec 28 2023 about 925p Bought 1 regular cheese slice and 1 sausage slice wanted both very hot. Chz came out quick cause he said pie came out not to long ok, but sausage had to go back barely warm he didn't want to kept saying it's hot enough finally put back in and wait. Front is very small dining area with pizza ovens and prep areas extremely well lit and then a large enclosed dining room bit dark at the moment. Slices served on paper plates and food tray Sat back near large dining room entrance. Both slices very thin crumb bottom but soft and mooshy, sauce slight delay tasty, lot of stretchy cheese and sausage. Only problem it's burnt on the bottom of the sausage making a bitter taste and scooped some charcoal from oven onto the plate. Once again extremely well lit can see into the oven, but not paying attention and it wasn't busy.
