I ordered a small oxtail peas and rice dinner today and it was absolutely amazing. The meal was packaged well! The meat a Was nice and tender, the gravy was spicy but not too spicy. The peas and rice was nicely cooked and the cabbage was cooked but not too hard or soft! I highly recommend this location for future orders! I will be ordering again Deserves 5+ stars. Thank you for taking time and pride in your preparation 👌🏾

I enjoy going to this Restaurant, the price is perfect for the area and the city as a whole. Plus the portions are great size, coupled with good selection too. Another great aspect is the staff are always nice when I’m there too. I just wish they had a few of these places in my area of the Bronx, I’d visit daily then.

Good jerk chicken, portions are fairly large. Anyway, I liked the jerk chicken, rice and beans and the cabbage. The patties are also very good and spiced well.

Golden Krust and Jamaican food is getting costly in general but imo Golden Krust has some of the best curry chicken. It always taste good. I wish they added potatoes because I enjoy potatoes a lot. This place had none. I added extra plantains which the lady said they give u 7 pieces exact. Idk why they be so stingy but that’s everywhere. This place needs more bar stool chairs for dinning in pr a better indoor seating area that can accommodate more people. But i enjoyed my food

I don't know why there's so many bad reviews for this place because my rice and peas with the jerk chicken and cabbage with the plantains everything was really good the only critique I have is that they give you a little tiny bottle of sauce and hot sauce and then the cabbage should be cooked a little more and more softer but other than that the food was absolutely delicious I got a large and it was more than enough for me very fooling dinner that I had.

Golden Krust is fairly consistent around the 5 boroughs. There are a few that definitely do not make the cut. If Jamaican fast food will suits you, stop at one. This one on 14th and 6th is on brand. They had a lot of the menu left at the start of the evening. The oxtails were tender, not super fatty, and delivered flavor as they should. The sizing of the portion for the money is not the best however, the staff knows how to pile it on if you are courteous and thankful.

Man, I don't know. I've been going to this Golden Crust for years and it consistently struggles in EVERY area. I don't know if the issue is management or how much the employees are paid, but everytime I have gone in there, the people working there just seem..... over it. Not exactly very friendly. I don't know if this is an issue with training or not grasping the concept of customer service or what. I ordered a beef patty and coco bread and it was mediocre to say the least. It wasn't very good but the price point was fine. There isn't much of an "atmosphere" to speak of. The restaurant is extremely outdated with the times. There seem to never be any advertisements or marketing to expand the brand and get new customers. The store decor and everything is outdated and stagnate. When I pass by this place, that's when I remember it. It's never at the top of my mind in terms of food or ambiance of a place I want to eat at. I just wish it wasn't like this for YEARS. I wish someone would completely revamp the restaurant, decor, train the staff, give them a raise, to hopefully get people to SMILE in there. I don't know of any good places in Manhattan to get a beef patty and coco bread. The search continues. You would think this place would be it but.....NOPE.

What a dump. Got #1 special which is clearly advertised in big, illuminated sign as $5.00, $5.29 after tax. The charged me $6.25 and were not having it when I brought up the advertised price. Can of soda are RC Cola and RC Orange, no diet option. Mess from previous patrins left on floor with no effort to pick up. Food was fine, but in line with what you would expect from a beef pattie in NYC.

Have gone on several occasions ( at least four ) and can’t ever get the Curry Chicken Patties. I even called this time before I went and was told not making anymore because they won’t sell. It’s wasn’t even 6pm 🤨 I always get 4-6 patties. Tonight we wanted 8!!! Oh well

FYI : who ever give this place more than 1star needs to go to another Golden Krust that’s really care about the Jamaican Culture and eat and be the judge of my review. This place make the most disgusting food, Golden Krust is one of my favorite restaurants I usually go and eat Oxtails even though the price is really high but that place on 14th street the owner need to hire a private shopper to see how those employees prepare those food that’s a disgrace for the franchise and for the Jamaican culture as a bunch of Jamaicans that represent their own culture to make food so disgusting, I apologize for my frustration but that was one of the worst experience I had, specially my wife kept asking for the oxtails and after work I walk from 22nd to 14th st to surprise her and when I reach Jersey with that disgusting food my wife thought I didn’t get the food from Golden Krust, please investigate on those people, cause all they do is taking people money and give us disgusting 🤮 food for our money. And the lady that serving me the food was on her cellphone the whole time and didn’t even paying no attention to me she talking over the food 🤦🏾‍♂️the whole time who are those people.
