Different than regular Joe's: The Pro Shop sells a variety of pourover making equipment as well as a nice roster of rotating coffee from all over the world; they regularly feature Phil & Sebastian, Tandem, The Barn, Lofted, and many others.

Everything is excellent here. Coffeewise, these blokes really know what they're doing. Update: I really don't like the renovation. Please bring back the window seating.

Took an espresso training class here. Trainer was super nice and knowledgeable. Learned how to dial in shots and steam milk.

Love Joe. These guys are the best of the best in the industry and their pro shop is where you can be helped by even some of their best. I'm grateful for their oat milk and it's always good to have a perfectly poured capp (it's usually uncommon with alternative milks) every time. The team is friendly and there is rarely a line. Seating is limited here, but it's cool to look around at their merch. Great location! Definitely worth a trip out of the way

They have a delicious variety of coffee beans from all over the world. The baristat is very knowledgeable and very attentive. Great atsmohosphere and delicious lattes. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice cup of coffee.

It's all in the name - this coffee shop is designed to cater to the coffee professional, or extremely passionate hobbiest. This place is unapologetically quality first, and can be one of the slower cafes in the city. They take the time to do everything right, especially in their pour overs, which they have not optimized for speed. They are a multiroaster cafe and offer a great selection of their own coffee lines and rotate interesting, hard-to-find small roasters.

Joe’s has lots of tasting coffee and is hailed with top reviews by new yorkers. It is also a quaint shop with antique trims and street views out of a movie set which you can stroll as you sip- if the day is nice.

They do pour over coffee. They have ice. But they're not going to make you an iced pour over. Settle for a cold brew.

Made a nice cup of iced coffee based off of their recommendation. Very clear nutty flavor for a hint of hazelnut because I did not want it too sweet but it did not taste like pure coffee either. It was good! Card reader was down when I went but they just typed the info in manually. Also the ice in my iced coffee was like a chunk of multiple cubes connected together, maybe crack them for aesthetic purposes next time so it isn't like a floating iceberg on my delicious coffee. Lids and stuff are to the left of the register. Sipped it on my way up the street. No mess, not freezing cold. Nice condensate sheen on my iced coffee that was not frostbiting my fingers. Maybe the iceberg method is the way to go, I dunno.

Service could be better

Barista I spoke to was fairly rude and cold during our conversation, treated me like an idiot when I asked about the somewhat confusing menu (it doesn’t list latte, americano, cappuccino, etc, just “espresso” and pour over.) It seemed like a reasonable question, “do you offer lattes,” and instead the guy wearing the hat behind the counter responded as if I’d asked him if he knew whether the sky is blue. He literally explained to me “well so a latte is milk with espresso,” why yes, I am in fact aware of what the drink is I would like to order is, dude. Moving on, I asked about the two different roasts they had that day, one from Peru and another from Brazil I think. Asked what the difference is, he have some descriptions about how the flavor notes differed, one was chocolates, one was not. I said “oh so the Peruvian one is chocolatey!” I checked, and he responded “yes that’s the one I just said.” Well okay then, thanks I feel like an idiot again for asking a simple question, but whatever. My drinks tasted fine, nothing to rave about either, though. Laughably little seating, just three stool counter seats in front of the window, two of which are directly abutting a large radiator, so your legs are hunched on top. Sooo effectively there is only one seat. Do NOT come here for a date or other meetup with a friend. I only walked in here because I work around the corner and had passed by a couple times and was curious how it was 🤷🏼‍♀️ Next time I’ll head to Telegraphe a few blocks down.

So I proceeded to taste their expensive espresso. It’s “third wave” coffee, meaning the espresso is very different from the balanced, smooth Italian roast. If you drink just the espresso by itself, be aware that this is a very long acidic double shot and it costs $4. Not my thing, as I grew up in Italy drinking Vergnano espressso (established in 1876 in my hometown). In Italy the espresso has to be barely bitter, balanced, short, intense but pleasant as an unsweetened drink, with barely any acidity and a roasted perfume. This is not at all what the “gourmet” espresso tastes here, which is like grapefruit juice with double the amount of caffeine than an Italian shot. If you like drinks made from espresso, this might be a good place perhaps. It seems very oriented towards the quality of their coffee, too bad their shot is so aggressive and under roasted.

I went there this morning, which was decent. The espressos they serve had a very small portion which isn’t enough help me stay awake. I expected it to be bigger as a regular cup of coffee.

Great staff. But tragic irony that for a coffee specialist the two coffees I got tasted bitter and burnt.

This isn't a pro shop anymore. It's just a coffee shop. The description here and on the web site is misleading.

On principle I need to give 1 star bc it’s wack to charge extra for a non-dairy milk, esp when it’s a splash in a cold brew. Please stop punishing folks who don’t eat dairy. Non dairy alts are not more expensive anymore. That said, good coffee, kind folks.

The coffee may be great, but I did not have a chance to try it. I enter the store to ask about their coffee equipment sale and have cup of coffee. I waited for a break between customers to ask if I am in right place to see coffee machines. The barista made me wait until serve all the customers ~10 mins, and then told me that they do not show the equipment. Nice service! I did not want coffee at this place any more

Coffee is good, despite being on the expensive side. But the staff is consistently rude and cold. They do not know how to speak or treat their customers. Almost ruins my mood every time I come in there.

Large cup is extremely small and expensive. Coffee is stong. But in this heat bigger servings would be nice. Just not the place to go if you want a large coffee.

Supposed to be an espresso accessories shop, yet they barely carry any inventory, apparently have nothing in the back. The barista lady or whatever she was, was useless, reluctant to help or check on anything.
