Jones St. Wine Bar & Room

Hosted a birthday party here over the weekend and cannot say enough good things about Jones St! The bar is lovely, the people were kind, the wine selections were great. Will definitely be coming back and recommend for any parties / date nights!

I booked what I thought was a wine tasting here for my birthday (on the phone was assured that there would be 6 different wines at $60 per person). Instead, the server just poured different wines for us while we chatted, which while lovely, was not a true tasting nor what I was promised. When we asked about the different wines or for a menu, we were met with confusion/disregard. Additionally, I was charged extra for a cheese platter that had been mentioned as included. Although the wine was excellent and the staff warmed up to us, be cautious about booking a "tasting" here and definitely make sure to have a paper trail.

Beware. Do not trust this venue to host a private event. The owner and staff are unprofessional and extremely unorganized. The person who handles the private bookings is unhelpful and in hindsight that should have been my red flag from the start to not move forward on booking with this venue as this attitude is mirrored in the employees they've hired. I over-communicated with them for weeks leading up to my event and yet they still gave my catering order to the wrong party that was scheduled before mine. There is clearly no communication between the owner booking the events and the actual staff that is running the events which leads to careless mistakes like this. For your important events and celebrations, look elsewhere for a more efficient establishment.

Popped by check out a new venue in the neighborhood. Venue seemed nice at the onset. When asked for a recommendation barkeep seemed to be less than enthusiastic and put back the water glass he was in process of taking out - classic you aren’t worth it as a customer response. Throughout the evening barkeep was more inclined to flirt with every pair of juicy melons that walked in than actually minding the till. Getting service in mostly empty bar took some doing. Would not recommend.

Visited with a bunch of friends - place looks run down, they are VERY stingy with pours, and worst of all - astonishingly rude people. One sweet gal was kind and helpful, but the rest of the staff are incredibly rude. Took the fun out of drinking wine, which is generally a very enjoyable activity. Avoid, avoid, avoid - go anywhere else. They’re the kind of establishment that doesn’t understand who the customer is.

There was a complete and utter lack of kindness or hospitality. For a place that hosts events not be able to provide any details - not sure I understand your business model. I was made to feel bad by asking what I felt to be very standard questions. Jones St. Wine bar looks like such a lovely spot, wish things could have worked out.
