Opinions de Korali Estiatorio New York
We live in Dallas but each chance we have to drive to El Paso.... we stop by it's a must!!!! Best Flautas ever!!!!
The flautas are some of the best in El Paso in my opinion...nice pico de galo as well as a nice Verde and a spicy red salsa. This just looked like a great place to eat on the inside. And canned soda...usually a place serving canned soda is a clue too. You wont be disappointed here...come and eat! And get the flautas!
Amazing food great service, friendly waitress. I love this place. It’s amazing coming from out of state and enjoying such great food and again great service is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.
I was hesitant when they first came to EP almost 10 years back. I was afraid their food wouldn’t taste the same as it did in Juarez. Much to my surprise it is still just as delicious! They’re pretty consistent and tastes great every time. The half order of tacos is perfect for one person but if you have a bigger appetite the full 6 order of tacos loaded with crema mexicana, queso cotija, avocado and onions is what they’re known for most in Juarez & El Paso. They have a taco bar loaded with condiments from chopped cilantro, onions, lemon, chiles toreados, and variety of pico &salsas. My personal fav is the avocado cream sauce as I added on my order. Here we added a chile de salsa
The absolute best flautas in the city! Delicious, available up until 4am daily. Good prices and great to order for party packages. The more you buy, the more you save! Friendly staff! Delicious desserts!
I come here more than 6 times a month—sometimes even more—and I always get the burrita. It’s hands down the best! This is by far the best restaurant on Mesa. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The service is great, and the vibe is always welcoming. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out!
As Authentic as You Can Get We were road tripping and got into El Paso about 9:00 pm. We were famished and really wanted some authentic Mexican food. This might have been the only place open. And they're open from 10:00 am to 4:00 am! This place is located just a few blocks away from the border, right off of Hwy 10 on Viscount Blvd. We pulled up and it was packed with diners. Young and old, individuals and couples, and quite a few children. The menu selections are on the wall above and behind the counter. There are pictures of the items, but they all basically look the same. No real descriptions. The counter help was friendly, but very English language limited. I asked a few questions and I don't think they understood me. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter. You're given a stand with a number to take to your table and staff brings out the order. As we sat waiting we watched the activity in the dining area where diners were getting condiments from what may have been a small salad bar in the past. I had to check it out. This was incredible. Fresh cilantro, diced onions, radishes, grilled whole jalapenos, limes, red and green salsas, pico de gallo, sliced cucumbers, shredded lettuce and my favorite - a creamy smooth guacamole sauce/salsa. It had the flavor of traditional chunky guac, but smooth and the consistency of a thick gravy. Small plastic cups and paper boats are on the bar so you can take as much as you like back to your table. Our food was brought to us in just a few minutes. I ordered a Burrita ($10.43), two flour tortillas sandwiched together stuffed with seasoned grilled beef and cheese. I loaded up by Burrita with all the 'salad bar' fixin's and sauces and thoroughly enjoyed my dish. My wife ordered Tacos Al Pastor ($9.96), four tacos built on four flour tortillas with mounds of flavorful Al Pastor Pork, topped with fresh cilantro and diced onion. She used the guacamole sauce to add even more flavor to her tacos. The staff in the dining room never quit moving. They cleared off empty tables, kept the floor and salad bar area neat and tidy, and while a little hard to understand, asked if we needed anything else. There was a steady stream of customers coming in still at 10:00 or so when we left. This is a gem that deserves your visit and your taste buds will thank you.
Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - Las Originales Flautas Cometa which are tortillas filled with shredded beef and fried (think taquitos but longer) with cream, Pamela cheese, raw onions, tomatoes, and avocados. We ordered 4 which is the regular size and thought it was a bit plain at first but their salsa/sauce is absolutely amazing with it! They provided a red, a green, and two avocado based salsa which were all great but with different spice and acidity levels Ambience: n/a - ordered food to go. Lots of Valentine’s Day decorations up and fairly loud music playing. First thing in the morning so the salsa bar looked great Service: 5/5 - quick and friendly. Switched to English for us with no difficulties Value for price: 5/5 - just under $9 for the dish that was delicious
Stop by this little taco stand for some authentic tasting tacos. It was really good I had the steak and cheese. They piled up steak with a bunch of melted cheese on top and threw about six corn tortillas on. It also came with fresh fried chips, salsa and onions and cilantro. Because of covid you have to ask for anything from the salsa bar. It wasn't inconvenient though. The server didn't speak any English which may be a problem for some folks but she spoke really clearly and I was able to communicate although I've only been learning Spanish for about one month.
The flautas always hit the spot. The al pastor tacos were a nice compliment. Best of both worlds.
Taqueria El Cometa is a local Mexican eatery, with several locations throughout El Paso. I arrived at the North Mesa Street branch on a Thursday afternoon just after 3 p.m., seeking to escape the triple digit heat. Although Taqueria El Cometa can be classified as a fast food joint, the food is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and the service is fairly quick. As you enter, you’ll find a counter to the left where you order your food and beverage. To the right is an open dining area and a salsa bar,, with doors leading to an outdoor patio. The menu is your typical Mexican fare: tacos, quesadillas, burritos, flautas, taquitos, etc. Once seated, we were served a basket of tortilla chips. I went to the salsa bar and dished out some green pepper salsa, as well as some very spicy chile de arbol salsa. After a few minutes of enjoying the appetizer, I was served the tacos de alambre al pastor and an horchata. The dish consisted of marinated pork, with California chiles, and queso. The dish also came with approximately six flour tortillas. The horchata was smooth, sweet and refreshing. The meal was packed with flavor and very enjoyable. One can fill the tortillas to the limit, and still have enough left over to use as a dip for the tortilla chips. I savored every bite. There are so many Mexican restaurants in El Paso that one can eat at a different one daily for a year and still have plenty remaining. However, Taqueria El Cometa can easily stand out as one of the “go to” places.
We tried El Cometa for the first time a few weeks ago. I'm not sure we'll go back. The music was way too loud, so loud it was hard to talk to each other. We got the quesadillas and there was so much cheese, it hadn't melted thoroughly. We liked the salsa bar but there were no salsas that were even medium spicy, much less mild. I think we might try it again, to see how the tacos are (from other reviews, sounds like they're good) but as for now, I would not recommend the quesadilla. Be forewarned about the loud music, too.
The aroma of flavorful dishes filled the bustling atmosphere. Despite the noticeable activity and less-than-pristine environment, the food promised a delightful experience. The attentive staff navigated the crowded space with practice efficiency. Each plate delivered a taste that surpassed expectations, making the lively ambiance a minor detail. A satisfying meal awaited those willing to embrace the energetic, slightly chaotic charm.
2-3 * only. 9:45pm was the time I got in the Taqueria, I got my food after almost 1.5hours. I was ready to leave a long time before but my brother insisted to wait since we've been waiting for so long already. Anyways, very popular place from Juarez opened up their store here in El Paso. I assume the food is okay, they have flautas and tacos. Both were served cold. The staff is clearly overwhelmed with the amount of people lining up and serving food. The kitchen has for example 10 plates ready to be brought to the tables but there is only ONE RUNNER to bring the food to the tables. by the time you get the food, the plate was already sitting there with the food getting cold for at LEAST ten minutes. I had 0 patience, still paid for everything and left but normal ME would have brought it up but I felt bad for the runner. He still got a gracious tip from me. Not his fault.
Missus and I stopped by for a bite after driving in from Phoenix as it was one the higher recommend spots from online reviews. So... the food was pretty decent. Meat was a little chewy but the flavors were spot on. Portions are great, definitely shareable. However, the space was a mess and service was not great. The wait was lame, we ordered chips but were not informed they were out until we got our food. The gal running food was also bussing and touching her hair without washing her hands. Working in the industry for over a decade its paramount that you wash your hands after touching dirty dishes.
We used to love this place , but now its just rushed and low quality. The taste is ok but 4 stands of shredded beef in a flauta is a joke. We gonna start cooking at home DONT BUY the fake lemonade 😤
I was very disappointed on Friday when I went to eat there. I had the flautas and they were stale and it was like they had heated them up. Going down in quality and taste. Also very expensive for flautas, $30 for my husband and I and we got water to drink.
I went today by the drive thru and order flauras and tacos. It was horrible. The flautas had on top avocado it was black then the tomato was bad. The cheese on top was disgusting. Very disappointed never will i go back and buy there!!!
Arrived before rush, floors were dirty, all tables were dirty only one waitress. Ordered our food and waited for 45 minutes until we finally requested a refund, they never apologized, heard them asking the cooks for our ordered and they couldnt find it. No apology no nothing, this restaurant is over-rated.
The standard of the food quality has gone down from a couple years ago, I rather pay more for flautas and get fresh food with fresh ingredients instead of paying less to be served food with ingredients from past days, to include the vegetables. Do not recommend to buy fountain drinks they taste awful. Will never come back to eat there.

Authentic Tacos & Flautas: A Flavorful Journey South of the Border
Alright, listen up, because I just found a spot that's absolutely nailing it when it comes to authentic Mexican flavors. Forget what you thought you knew; this place is bringing the heat, and I mean the real heat, straight from what feels like Juarez itself. People who’ve been around the block, even those with San Diego taco sensibilities or who grew up on the border, are raving about the consistency and deliciousness here. You absolutely have to start with the tacos. They’re legendary for a r
