Opinions de Liberty Bagels Midtown New York
Liberty Bagels Midtown is absolute chaos in the best possible way. Place was packed—standing room only—like a bagel-themed subway car at rush hour. But honestly? Worth it. The bagels are so good they should come with a warning label. Chewy, fresh, and clearly the reason everyone in Midtown decided to be in the same square footage at the same time. Staff somehow kept things moving despite the crowd, which felt like an Olympic-level achievement. If you’re looking for a quiet, meditative breakfast… this ain’t it. If you want a top-tier bagel and a story to tell afterward, get in line and embrace the madness. 🥯👏
The best bagels in midtown in my opinion. I got the bacon egg and cheese on a garlic bagel, so good. The shop is extremely crowded every time I'm in, but the service is quick and you're in and out very fast. I also got a dozen bagels which was quick and easy.
Fresh, chewy bagel with a perfectly crisp exterior and a generous smear of cream cheese. Simple, satisfying, and exactly what you want from a classic New York bagel stop. Liberty Bagel delivers a comforting bite that’s great any time of day.
Liberty bagels is a great option to grab bagels. They have a wide variety of bagels available, and a lot of schmear flavors. Their sandwich options also looked great. Service was kind of slow, but maybe it was because our bagels were toasted, it took longer for them to prepare them than others who ordered after We grabbed the Garlic bagel with the jalapeno schmear, toasted and the jalapeno cheddar bagel with chipotle schmear, toasted The garlic bagel combo was an amazing 9.5/10, and the jalapeno cheddar combo was a solid 8/10
I literally can't wait to visit again so I can taste this amazing bagel. I was in NYC for a week and I had the rainbow bagel with birthday cake cream cheese for 4 days in a row. I couldn't get enough of it. I also tried other flavors and I loved the nutella, and also their avocado lox bagel. Liberty Bagels truly deserves all the hype. Everyone is so nice, the service is so quick and efficient and seriously I loved their bagels
My daughter insisted that this was a must stop while we were visiting NYC. Granted, I spent the earlier half of my life in the area, but my daughters haven’t and they saw a TikTok influencer rave about it, so take that for what it’s worth. But I will say it was a very pleasant experience although the line tends to get long, it moves very quickly, and the staff are exceptionally kind and efficient. The bagels were delicious. As always- there is nothing like a bagel from NY/NJ. I miss them! If you do decide to make this a stop, it will not disappoint.
If you know me well, you’re probably aware that I don’t consider myself a Foodie Expert by any means. However, let me tell you, my experience at the Liberty Bagel shop in the vibrant heart of New York City was truly unforgettable and absolutely worth sharing! This little gem of a place, tucked away amidst the bustling streets, serves up what I can confidently declare to be the very best bagels I have ever tasted in my life. Among the delightful options available, I decided to indulge in the Bella Nova, an incredible creation that absolutely blew my taste buds away, all nestled within a perfectly baked salt bagel that added the ideal hint of savory goodness. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavor that left me craving more!
I stopped by this bagel shop during my visit to midtown. They have many other chains but this particular location is really nice. I got the sunset sandwich that comes with egg and smoked salmon for which I paired it up with an everything bagel followed by Lox Scallion Cream Cheese spread. It was absolutely delicious and was worth the 20$ that I paid for. Each and every ingredient on that bagel sandwich was fresh and i didn't feel bloated afterwards . My mom just tried the whole wheat toasted bagel with chipotle cream cheese which was just 5$ and she also loved it. There are lots of other cream cheese to choose from and lots of bagel options as well. If you are visiting as a tourist in New York City, you must try Liberty Bagels at Midtown Manhatten!
Came here last Friday morning. Just a jampacked Lineup so make sure you get there incredibly early. Lineup went quickly, We ordered three different types of bagels And all of them were absolutely fantastic. My suggestion is have a good look online before you order so you don’t hold anyone else up. The customer service could’ve been a little better. Our cashier seemed like she was unimpressed with the day. But it’s a busy time of year, so I understand. Definitely a good place to go.
I’m from Chicago, so the first thing on my to-do list when I visit New York is to have a bagel. Liberty bagel did not disappoint. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese on an Asiago, and my boyfriend had a poppyseed bagel with butter. Both were great. The bagel is just so perfectly chewy, with a crusty outside. There is nothing like a New York bagel. Only thing I have to complain about is the seating. I know this is likely just a New York thing, with square footage being so so valuable, but they only had a tiny bar with stools to sit. But, there’s not much space for chairs and tables either - understandable. We ended up walking to Moynihan to eat there since it was pretty cold outside.
Unbelievable bagels and great service! I stopped by Liberty Bagels Midtown during a mother–daughter weekend in NYC, and it did not disappoint! It’s an easy walk from 5th Avenue, and even though the line forms outside, it moves quickly thanks to the nice gentleman managing the flow of traffic. Orders are handled super efficiently—pickups are brought right to the door for fast access. Inside there’s a small standing bar, and outside you’ll find a few tables on the patio if you want to enjoy your food there. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was incredible. I had a blueberry bagel with egg, sausage, and cheese—honestly one of the best bagels I’ve ever had. And don’t skip the hash browns—they’re worth it! Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving a true New York bagel experience.
Go for the Rainbow bagel. You know you want to. We did and enjoyed it along with some other bagel options. Bonus: you can also get a red white and blue Liberty bagel. Plenty of cream cheese choices too. The crowds were wild but manageable. Started outside and they let you in one group at a time. Then you wait inside in a split line to order. Then you wait again in the pickup line once it’s ready. Whole process took about 20 min or so. Limited seating/standing outside. Share if you need to or take to go. Must try spot if in the area.
Even at 8:30 am on a Sunday in October, this place was packed. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a blueberry bagel with maple bacon cream cheese and bacon - and it was divine! The cream cheese is THICK & rich. The combination of salty and sweet was perfection a the bagel was fluffy and delicious. The decor is iconic and I highly recommend Liberty Bagels!
One of the best bagels in NYC! 🥯 We had the Hot Mess on a everything bagel, and it was an amazing choice, as well as the classic one with cheese and bacon on a egg bagel. The cheese has a really unique flavor, and the whole combination made for such a satisfying meal. We were so happy with it! If you go for breakfast, especially on weekends, be prepared for a long line. On weekdays or later in the day, the wait is much shorter.
Small but efficient bagels shop with a great variety of fresh bagels and tasty homemade cream cheese varieties. You cannot miss here, order anything and it will be great. Typically a line but it moves fast. Be ready to order once you get to the front. Then change to the pickup line. Stand up only outside for eating so just take your stuff 1.5 blocks to the open area with lots of tables next to Madison square Garden. Plenty of space to sit and relax and eat next to trees and flowers.
Sublime! Yummy! Wow! Toasted to perfection and the turkey was unbelievably tender — I want more! The bagel looked amazing and tasted even better. This place absolutely lives up to the hype. Great, varied menu, and even with a line, the service was super quick. Definitely one of the spots I’ll miss most from New York, babyyy!
Bagel is fluffy and warm and the cream cheese is super flavorful. Prepare for it to be very packed and have a long wait

LOVE! Order online and pickup rather than waiting in the crazy long line. I did a breakfast sandwich one day and went back the next day for a traditional bagel. Both were incredible

What I got was basically a full fledged sandwich which my wife and I were able to share it for breakfast. Delicious. A bit of a sticker shock but worth it.

Huge bagels!!! Definitely sharer portions - tasty, fresh and not over priced would recommend a visit to Liberty bagels whilst in New York.
The food was delicious. Despite the long line ordering online and waiting outside it was ready in a few minutes and the guy at the door was very helpful.

Great vibe, lots of choice and phenomenal flavour. A big breakfast that will set you up perfectly for the day. A mistake try in nyc
Yummy! Love the bagels and so much choice. Good coffee too. Been having breakfast here every day through our visit and it adds to the NY experience
The BEST BAGELS EVER! And the cream cheese is to die for. We also went to Best Bagels and coffee, but that was a LIE! Liberty is the best by far.
This place makes incredible bagel sandwiches. They make all.of their flavored cream cheeses in-houes. I only gave it 4 stars because my second trip my sandwich was not as well made as my first visit. Rest assured if im in the city again I will make a trip back to the shop.
We had heard this place was ultra-popular because of their bagels, so we tried it for breakfast on a Friday morning. When we walked up, the place was packed (I mean packed!) and people were eating outside on the sidewalk where some tables have been placed and there's even a covered patio to use! Good sign, right? So we ordered our bagels and breakfast sandwiches and took them back to our hotel. They had a Halloween bagel so I thought I'd be festive and they that with pumpkin cream cheese. The flavor of the cream cheese was fine but not outstanding and the bagel itself was much chewier than I expected 🤔. The feedback from the group was the same thing about their bagels. They have a ton of good-looking cream cheese options and fun themed sandwiches so I would definitely order something here again but I wonder if the popularity is more based on history or the food? You'll have to decide for yourself.
vibrant and bustling spot for a quick and yummy bagel. classic nyc shop with copious amounts of sweet and savory. built my own bagel and it was solid. i ordered BYO bagel sandwich with everything bagel with egg whites, chipotle cream cheese, and turkey bacon. the bagel could have used a more generous serving of cream cheese, and overall the bagel was nothing ground breaking. but it was warm (freshly baked i may add!), delicious, quick, and hit the spot for me that morning. the manager was a gem and offered stickers to me as well. would go again.
Popular bagel spot with a huge variety of flavors and combinations. The bagels are fresh, chewy, and well made, and the rainbow bagels are a fun highlight that many people come specifically for. Very crowded and busy most of the time, with lots of options that can feel overwhelming, but service moves relatively fast given the volume. A solid stop if you want classic New York bagels with plenty of choice.
Colorful and fun experience. Expect to wait in line about 15-20 mins tops but very worth it. Once you get inside be ready with your order, would recommend to research before going lots of bagels and schmear to choose from. I am a somewhat purist so plain bagel and cream cheese for me but make it colorful please. Can't rate service higher since it's basically : what's your order, here's your bagel and get out from all the noise and standing shoulder to shoulder to the 30 people that are inside quite a small amount of space. Overall would recommend.
This place is small but very popular. Since we were staying at a hotel across the street we ordered online and went to pick up. There was a queue outside the store, but an employee outside had everything under control. He was not only managing the queue but also handing out the online orders. We found the bagel sandwich much better than the bagel with just the cheese spread. The bagel sandwich was delicious.
If you're looking for NY bagels, you won't be disappointed by this place. It's very popular and there's always a line, but the service is fast, and efficient. Pro tip: make sure you know your order before approaching the counter. Lots of different bagels, handmade cream cheese, and tofu creams. The coffee is very decent. People come here mostly for the bagels and coffee, but they also offer sandwiches and other deli items.

pretty expensive and the inside is super narrow for how crowded it gets. food came out pretty quickly tho. have had better bagels in the city tho
Great food, comes out fast which was great. Lots of choices definitely recommend. Super busy so plan to wait in line a little while.

The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was exciting with queues at the break of dawn forming. Maybe I was just too excited to try this but to me the fillings did not have enough individual flavour and everything blended into the same taste, grease. I had a New Yorker on french toast as per the staff recommendation and the french toast bagel was fantastic but left me wanting something more from between the buns.

The bagels are delicious but extremely overpriced. Worth the visit but if you walk into any deli you'll find the same thing for much cheaper (and won't even have to stay in line)

Rainbow bagel just for pictures! Savoury bagels were good but expensive compared with similar outlets nearby. Buy by dozen if you want value for money

Huge line out the door just to order. I had a bird poop on me. I thought the long line indicated it must be good but I was wrong. I ordered the Empire breakfast sandwich. It was rather bland. The bagel even seemed a little doughy. Took FOREVER for the food to come out after the order was finally placed. They need a better system. They just yell at everyone to go to the front of the store after you've placed your order. And everyone has to push their way through the sardine can to get to the front when their name is called. It would be helpful if they had the display board like Starbucks has so you know if you're anywhere near getting your food. If you do want to give a try, I'd see about ordering online. Seemed the best way to avoid the insanity. Some guy goes inside to get the orders and brings them outside to the people.
Not a tourist. Stopped by Liberty Bagels recently for a quick bite. The steakwich is still ok—good flavor a little less meat than in the past, but if you are hungry its good. Unfortunately, the salmon sandwich was a letdown. The portion was surprisingly small, the salmon barely visible, and the flavor just didn’t hit. At $16 and a 20 minute wait, it’s hard to justify when NYC has so many better options for food. Liberty Bagels has its moments, but based on this visit, it feels a bit overrated. Worth a try once, but I wouldn’t go out of my way next time.
They need to check orders before handing them out. Got back to my place to sit down and enjoy my breakfast and half my order was missing. I'm sure it would have been great but will never know!
Crazy busy with frazzled employees trying to rush through every order to get through the line of 50+ people. I am gluten and dairy free so I was really excited when I saw they had gluten free bagels and dairy free cream cheese. I was considerably less excited once I took a bite. Save your money and the hassle of the crowd. There are better places for a gluten free bagel. Edit: my sister got a regular bagel with maple bacon cream cheese..she also hated it.
