Opinions de Libretto's Pizzeria New York
Just became my favorite spot in the murray hill neighborhood east midtown. Pizza is done to perfection. Never dissapoints.
Love this place. My company caters lunch for staff on Fridays and of course PIZZA is every ones favorite. In mid town south its easy to find a pizzeria but not so easy to find a good tasting one. We found Libretto's through one of our colleagues, Blerta. The whole order process was very simple. The girl who took the order, Adriana, was very nice and helpful. Gave us many ideas on what to feed a party of 30. The delivery was on time so food was still hot. Everything was delicious but what stood out was the Alla Vodka Pizza. It was the first to go. Some of the staff are on KETO and ordered the cauliflower pizza. it was a HUGE hit! Highly recommended and cant wait for our next staff lunch
Came by on a Saturday morning; the staff was friendly, the pizza was fresh, the carrot cake and red velvet cake were delicious. I would come by again. They were also kind to the delivery personnel from ubereats/doordash ect
Visiting NYC from the UK and after a full day walking around Central Park and the City, me and the family needed a a good meal. Libretto's is quite possibly THE best pizza I have ever had. Well priced, amazing food. Thoroughly recommended!
Best vodka slice in the entire city hands down. An absolute hidden gem. Their cheese slice is very standard and reliable as well. Overall great traditional Italian pizzeria
I ordered on Grubhub but didn't realize that I had accidentally set it to pick-up when I needed delivery. I called and asked if they could still deliver the order, and the restaurant immediately offered to deliver it without question or complaint. That's great customer service.
Anna the server is amazing!!!!! Shes so sweet and knows how to do her job! If the owners are smart, they will keep her forever and respect her! Service is smart and keeps customers coming back!!
Ok so New York ..what do you guys do to make such delicious pizza ?? I have never had a bad slice out here of course some places just got that extra magic nice crispy crust . I wish I could have a slice of all the many choices . Thanks for the hospitality.
I love this pizzeria. Always friendly, food is hot, pizza is tasty. They’re doing everything right! Highly suggest the rigatoni a la vodka— so goood!!
We stopped here for a slice of pizza and were pleasantly surprised with their delicious pizza. The quality, portion size and freshness is outstanding. This place is a must try if you are looking for delicious fresh pizza. We were in NY for 5 days and had lunch here 4/5.
My daughter and I are here from Texas for a few days and I refused to eat anything that I could get at home. This was the first place that we ate. The food was amazing. The staff was incredible. The place felt like the real NYC! Came in a couple days ago and it was so good that we had to stop in again today...and probably will again before heading home! I will 100% be back on my next trip too!
This place is like the ultimate place to go for late night pizza but even when you walk by it just smells like delicious garlic and cheese and everything else. I recommend trying out any of their slices. There are delicious they come out warm and they are in the price of your side I would say that’s a bit of the devil, considering the price of a slice, but they really are so yummy and just like the perfect place to enjoy.
Great pizza. Super friendly.
This is my go-to spot for pizza. It’s always quick, delicious and reasonably priced.
We feel this little place is quite simply some of the greatest food available in Manhattan, without the pretense of dressing up, coat rooms, ten different pieces of silverware and all that fine-dining rubbish. The people in here are friendly, to the point, and as helpful as can be. I had the Spaghetti Bolognaise which was to die for, wifey had a grilled chicken salad and stated it's the best one she's ever had. We went back a second time and it was brilliant again. Authentic, small but cozy, brilliant, and properly New York - when we have the chance to go back to visit Manhattan again, there's no question we will go back to Libretto's. 5/5 across the board.
Stumbled upon this pizza place in New York City on our way to catch a train one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in the cannoli was perfection!
This guy does pizza how it's supposed to be done. Very crispy with delicious sauce and cheese. I'll definitely continue to eat here. Absolutely delicious pizza!!!
Pizza was good. The highlight was being given a cup of ice for no charge. In this era of being seemingly nickel and dimed everywhere, this was quite nice to be treated like a human.
Great pizza had a red and a slice.. Great service, clean space and best of all really tasty pizza.
I ordered catering from here on Friday and got my order today promptly at the time I asked for. As someone who has coordinated a good amount of events, I am so happy with both the professional service over the phone and with the prompt delivery that gave me enough time to pull my party off. Not only were they prompt and courteous, their food was delicious. Not a scrap of wasted food and I’m feeding a crowd that normally picks at their plate and barely eats and where I am left taking home a good amount of food at the end of the day. Not this time…I blinked and both the large pizzas, eggplant rollatini and calamari were gone.I should’ve ordered more as people came looking for more but lesson learned. Librettos was a winner for me today and I’ll definitely be getting catering from here again. Thank you guys!
Libretto’s suprised me while being in NY from CT. I didn’t think food in NY would be good, judging by what I would see. This is definitely a good place to grab some delicious pizza, especially if you’re not familiar with NY.
The food was amazing. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. The baked Ziti was also very tasty. My family all enjoyed their meals, which is a first.
This was my first time in NYC. The pizza here was very tasty, quick, well-priced, and the service was exceptional . When I asked for a knife and fork to cut the pizza into small pieces for my grandson, an employee swiftly sliced it into square little pieces. When we were leaving, I started gathering up the pans and plates when an employee told me she would take care of it. My 16 month old didn’t like anything when we ate at a fancy Mediterranean restaurant, Chick-Fil-A, McDonald’s, or a Korean BBQ place, but here he kept asking for more pizza. I enjoyed the pizza, too. I recommend Libretto’s to anyone looking for delicious pizza and great service.
OMG , this place is insane, the food here is will drive you crazy how good it is , I mean the whole menu is 5star, it’s my second time here and in want have more time to come here every to just go down the menu and have every item on there , it’s just 10 stars kind of place, very down to earth , but way better than a fancy place in downtown
We ate here twice during our stay in NYC, first time bc it was close to our hotel but we enjoyed it so much we went back a second time. Slices were delicious, fresh and at a great price. Restaurant was clean and they were playing some nice traditional Christmas music making the visit even more enjoyable. Will definitely return when we come back to NYC.
Our offices are a few blocks away from Libretto's. We frequently have large team meetings and like to order pizza. Our usual go to Joe's Pizza started having issues, so we decided to give Libretto's a try and ordered 15 pies for a recent meeting. Order arrived on time and pies were fantastic, especially the Vodka pies. The day after that meeting we held our holiday party for which we ordered catering. Unfortunately, we ran out of food due to a miscalculation...... but no worries, Libretto's to the rescue. It was about 8pm when our food emergency struck so I quickly got in touch with Libretto's and ordered 24 pies. They said no problemo and delivered them within an hour. I was again very pleased with the quality of pizza and how quickly the owner reacted. Everyone at the party loved (and were pleasantly surprised by) the pizza, no one went hungry and party organizers saved face. From now on, we will exclusively be ordering from Libretto's!
We went here on 5/1 and I forgot to review until now. AMAZING food. We got the Margherita pizza and two drinks to go. Quick, friendly service and a perfectly cooked pizza...great crunch, lots of cheese and basil, fresh out the oven. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Quality for what we paid was great. I went here years ago with my mom and couldn't remember the name of the place so I'm very happy to have experienced this again. High recommend!!! We will be back whenever we visit NY again for sure.
Best pizza in NYC! Authentic NYC slices, the guys behind the counter are amazing!
Excellent slices, clean and comfy. Ample seating.
I went here to get a quick BBQ Chicken slice to go. Service was very quick and the price wasn't too bad. Staff were friendly and I would go back if given the chance. BBQ Chicken pizza tasted really good and was cooked hot and fresh. Five stars for fast service and high quality pizza.
Excellent Pizza and service! We tried different kinds of pizza and all of them were delicious. The restaurant is clean and the employees were really nice and friendly. They were patient and explained all the different kind they have to offer. I would like to recommend this Pizza restaurant, specially the chicken Parm.
Perfect pizza and friendly staff. Great experience. Extremely clean also. Highly recommend.
Medium thin crispy chewy crust with good flavor. Good coverage of cheese and sauce. (Properly) well cooked cheese, tasty, flavorful sauce. Doesn't taste like Italian seasoning, but the flavor is very, very good. $3.45 is more than I like to spend for pizza, but I'll still give it a rating of 95.
Fantastic pizza by the slice! Great service. Can’t beat the prices.
Staff fantastic, food outstanding. Price good. What is not to like. Great pizza. Great atmosphere and staff that really look after you. Huge portions by people who understand quality ingredients. Highly recommend.
Jan 2026- The Vodka slice here is my favorite and absolutely recommended! I didn't find my friend from Sicily who used to work here but their service is awesome as well. Nov 2023- The vodka slice is out of the world. No comparison at all. It's made of fresh mozzarella and creamy vodka sauce. You can't go wrong with the cheese slices here. They're perfect! July 2023 - Good pizza slices!!! Loved the cheese slice but the grandma slice was also good and a little different than cheese. I like sauce in my slice so I didn't like Margherita slice as much as I enjoyed Cheese and Grandma slices. Good amount of sauce in the Cheese slice. The guy making pizza was from Sicily, Italy and very friendly to talk to. Really enjoyed sitting there and having the slices. Good atmosphere as well!!
Without doubt THE best pizza I've ever tasted! Service was brisk, friendly, and great choice of pizza. I'm glad I stumbled across this place, close to Pod 39 where I'm staying. I will return! Thanks! Geoff from the UK
Murray Hill’s hidden gem. The best, most flavorful vodka slice in the city. Also recommend the chicken bacon ranch. Owned by real people with good hearts. I am very thankful for this place.
This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’ve been here three times over the years and took my family to this place tonight and as always this place did not disappoint. I have tried many pizzas seeking the best quality and this place is consistently at the top. Keep up the good work y’all - you cook great!
Delicious pizza! Thin crust that was perfectly crispy. Didn’t flop down when slice is picked up, and an amazing crisp on the bite. We tried 4 different slices and all four were delicious! We tried the alla vodka slice, the pesto, the broccoli, and the Margherita. Their sauce is fantastic. I’d definitely return to this spot!
The pizza here is fantastic! While I'm not sure if the owner is Italian, the style strikes a perfect balance between traditional Italian and American pizza. The taste is excellent, and I absolutely love their pizza. The prices are reasonable, with one slice costing approximately $4. Two slices were enough to satisfy my hunger. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience.
1- Food 5/5. So far everything we order has been delicious and hot. Made from quality ingredients. 2- Service 5/5. Delivered hot and fresh. I’ve only had delivered Pizza from this restaurant 3- Atmosphere. 4- Reservations 5- Value 5/5. Considering they use very good high quality ingredients it’s a very good value. Will continue ordering from here and look forward to trying the pizza straight out the oven in there restaurant hopefully soon.
My boss and I decided to check out a potential pizzeria that may serve us a delicious pie. My instincts went for a Sausage and Pepper Slice. When I got back to the lounge, I took a bite of it; it was heavenly delicious. Besides, the place is highly casual, yet organized and clean. The service associate greeted me and gave me a thumbs up for my visit and purchase. I would come back for another bite!
My father and I were in the city for 1 day and was Craving pizza. We made a perfect choice by eating at Libretto's pizza restaurant. The pizza and feta salad was so delicious and we had Great service too. The waitress was very kind and they made sure everything was perfect for my veteran father and I. Best NYC pizza!! Thank you!!
Brilliant pizza (thin crust but soft and chewy base) with low prices ($3 for plain, $4 for regular and $5 for special slices) in a pizza restaurant setting. Strongly recommend. They also have make your own pizza, wine, beer and sodas, dessert ($8 though), ample seating and a nice ambience. I loved both the plain and pepperoni slices I got. It tasted really good and you could eat like a typical New Yorker by folding it without cracking.
Are you hungry? Was the question I answered with, “I could eat a small child.” Libretto’s was between me and my destination and I took the busy lunchtime line to be a good sign. I wasn’t disappointed. Like a well oiled machine the friendly staff were cranking out amazing New York slices one after the other. For less than $20 we found ourselves with 4 slices and two drinks sitting at a table less than 5 minutes after walking in. Much of the banter between customers and staff was familiar like old friends or distant relatives. Customers complimenting the staff on the consistency of the great food while getting up for more slices made for a friendly dialogue with the efficient staff that seemed to almost add something flavorful to the already impressive pizza. The sausage, pepperoni, and peppers were lavishly spread over thick rich mozzarella. Pulling the slices away from your mouth while still connected by a rope of melted cheese is always a great sign. High quality ingredients prepared by a skilled staff made this lunchtime something to write about. Thank you Libretto’s!
First impressions: Location on 3rd Ave near E 36th. I initially just wanted a slice to go. But, at the time there just a few patrons. The place was clean, cozy and looked like a place that I would love to stay and eat a full meal. I decided to stay, but still only had 1 slice of cheese pizza. It was good. I did not need the services of the server but from watching her & the rest of the staff they were definitely good hosts. She gave enough attention to let the patrons know she was there if they needed her. I would go back again.
Our first meal in New York after 28 hours of travelling from Australia. Food was sensational - tasty and big servings! Staff not too friendly though. It was like we were ruining their Friday night. I guess some would say we got the typical New York experience! Had staff bee friendly we would have gone back, as it was only 4 doors from our apartment.
Stop #264 for @pizzas365: Libretto's Pizza is pretty solid in all aspects. It's dough is good but not the greatest, the toppings are solid and the sauce is plentiful, and the price is also pretty solid but not the cheapest. It's a good spot. 4.0 Stars.
Libretto's is nicer than your average pizzeria in terms of atmosphere. It's relaxing and you can sit down and have waiter service/order off of a menu, or just get slices in the front. The pizza selection is everything standard, but really good. They serve wine.
Good pizza place! We really didn't have to interact with the servers since we just got a few slices but what we did encounter was friendly and quick. No complaints here.
Midtown pizza crawl 2024 Really good regular slice here. My favorite in the midtown area. Crust is alwayys crispy and delicious, and I love their sauce, its on the savory side like i like it. I dont understand some of these bad reviews for this place. After I had their pizza, I read some of the lowest reviews because i thought this place should be rated higher than a 4.3 (which is pretty good, but I thought should be higher). Some of them were due to Uber eats, I am not sure why someone would give a restaurant a bad review if their issue was with uber, doesn't seem fair. One thing I will agree with is that they could clean this place a little better. Having said that, I have never seen any critters in there and would say it's definitely clean enough to sit and eat. Definitely give this place a shot
Very cute pizzeria with wonderful staff that are so friendly and kind. The pizza was completely fine and you cant beat the price here. It's affordable and delicious. The marinara sauce is a little two sweet for me, but that's just my taste. Great place for a quick bite
Our go to pizzeria in our neighbourhood. Has a wide selection of pizzas, either by the slice or entire pie. All the ones we've had have been good. Slices are humongous and usually only need one to fill you up. Staff is friendly and efficient. Has indoor seating. Super quick to get a slice if you need something to eat fast.
The pizza is so good. We got vodka sauce pizza( one of the bests) and margarita pizza slices. They both were good. The servers are friendly and sweet too. The price is $4 per slice which is pricey but the quality is worth it for the price. Would be back!!
This is a great place to relax with cheap wine and good pizza. The atmosphere is very laid back with a pizzeria front and casual restaurant rear. Great service as well. They have small pizzas but I recommend getting the medium or large (if you have enough mouths to feed), they come out better. As previously mentioned, the wine is priced great and they have specials. It's not super high quality wine but the value is worth it.
When I'm near by, I always stop for my favorite grilled chicken, broccoli rabe sandwich.
Decent NY pizza establishment in the tradition of this city: fast and efficient service, low prices, filling slice. It's not pretending to be a place you bring a date and get table service, and that's just fine. For a quick bite this place is comfortable and clean, plus the staff were friendly.
Libretto's Pizzeria is a solid choice for New York-style pizza if you're in the area. I stopped in for two slices, and they hit the spot. The thin, crispy crust provided a great base for the flavorful cheese and well-portioned sauce. The interior has that classic, old-school pizzeria feel with some seating available. I'd recommend checking it out if you're looking for a good slice.
Stick to the pizza. It's mid across the board. But the seating area is comfy and spacious
They use quality cheese but the cost and sauce are just okay. The toppings could have used a bit more balance as well. There was considerable change in density of some toppings on part of the pizza. Personal pizza is sufficient for most people, they don't have a "small" so personal is basically their equivalent. Seating is comfortable.
I ordered pizza last week and it turned out to be too greasy sloppy. Not sure what is going on. The pizza was well done for the past weeks for every week since I started ordering from them 2-3 years ago. But, something has definitely changed in the past week.
I usually order a slice or a pie from here or Garlic Pizza, which is located a block away from my house. Today, I was craving a buffalo pizza with a side of pesto or with pesto on top. However, the older gentleman behind the counter was very rude and declined my request, even though I was willing to pay extra. His poor attitude made me decide not to visit that place again. If you're in the area, I recommend going to Garlic Pizza on 34th and 2nd instead. They were willing to fulfill my request and their pizza tastes much better with great service. Never again will I go back to this place.
Usually the pizza is good, albeit expensive for what it is. Tonight was disappointing. We ordered two slices to go. - One Buffalo Chicken to which I requested they add blue cheese - One Chicken and Broccoli. - $9.70 before tip. We were home and taking our first bite within 5 minutes. 1) Both pizza were dry as if they had been sitting around for a while. Cheese wasn't gooey 2) While warm enough, we expected the pizza to be hotter (we literally live up the street) as we watched them come out of the oven from being heated up. 3) With regard to the flavor profiles, the Buffalo was superior to the Broccoli slice. The latter had no distinctive seasoning. Cardboard with some dried cheese 4) The staff failed to add the blue cheese to the Buffalo Chicken slice. All in all, just a negative experience. No joy in eating it. Just calorie consumption. Not sure if we will give it another chance.
Service was poor from the beginning, but the bad pizza is unacceptable. From start to finish, it was a bad experience. I put in a pick-up order, to which they said it would be be ready in 20 minutes. I arrive 17 minutes later, and they just started to prepare the pie. I expressed my frustration to the gentleman at the counter, who seemed to be the owner of the place (short and somewhat balding gentleman), and he says that he technically has 3 minutes. Ten minutes later, in a total of 27 minutes, I walk out with my pepperoni pie. I get home and finish a slice, and I thoroughly disappointed - the dough was mushy and the cheese is now starting to give me an upset stomach. I only live 2 blocks away, so I can't attribute the mushiness to the pizza being in the box, nor can I attribute my queasiness to a weak stomach, as I have a stomach made a steel. It's a shame because they once used to make a decent slice.
Sad, the new owners ruined it. It's gone down hill since the new owners took over. Most of these reviews were for the prior owners. The pizza that we used to love just sits out now. It's not a good experience. There is not even any heat. Bring back the librettos. they knew what they were doing.
Ordered delivery to our hotel room and specifically asked for utensils, and none were sent. So how am I supposed to eat spaghetti or salad etc without utensils? Like a freaking caveman I guess! Couldn’t tell you how the food tasted because I never ate any of it since I had no way to eat it.
used to love coming here! Its was a great valve! But after the new management has taken over the quality has gone down ! My co-worker and i ordered the chicken parmesan special . They literally took one chicken cutlet and cut it in half and gave each of us a half of cutlet. Smh and the even cut down and the pasta too. Really guys the pasta.........we haven't been back in 2-3 months a shame we went their once a week! I guess they don't appreciate loyal!! I wouldn't eat there and i don't recommend you do to either !!!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and I are locals who have been loyal to this spot for nearly two years. We bring our friends here and loved telling people about this spot. Unfortunately last night was my last time bringing my business here. My friends and I came for pizza after a night out. My two friends ordered garlic knots and two slices. I separately ordered one slice. The worker HANDED us our orders and we realized they accidentally gave us an order of garlic knots with my slice that I had not ordered. Out of courtesy I let them know that I had not ordered these. I expected them to just say it’s on the house as my order is already IN MY HANDS. The worker REACHES OVER with a spatula and literally took out the garlic knots from the pizza box in my hands. He then asks me if I want to keep the marinara sauce that came with the knots. I absolutely said no. I cannot believe he had the idea to reach over and take food off of a customer’s plate. If he wanted the garlic knots back that badly, request my pizza box back and go do that behind the counter. That is such cheap and dirty behavior and I am so shocked and disappointed that this behavior came from this establishment. We truly loved libretto’s so much. Most of the workers here are very kind and we’ve come to even say hello to some of them. This review is not written out of anger, but sheer disappointment. So sad that I can no longer give business to this establishment as we truly were so loyal to this spot.
We were too excited to go back here because our dinner last year here was good. The food now taste different specially the chicken parm. The crust last year was better and tasty. The service was slow and the staff is not so friendly. So sad because were expecting the Asian lady who served as last year, shes definitely better than the guy who served as. The place looks not that clean even there restroom.
I called to order and I work at the hospital at nyu and he said he can’t deliver and hung up didn’t explain why and it’s only 4 mins away I didn’t do anything to deserve that behavior not sure why they can’t deliver to a hospital but his demeanor was uncalled for I called back to understand why they could not deliver and he hung up instantly shows me I would never order from this place and I never ever order from this place so first experience and that’s would be why so disappointed and disrespected
Thin crush entirely too soggy like dough.. Did not cook the pizza long enough. Or this wasn't a fresh pie. Not enough cheese and the sauce is extremely thin. extremely too many black olives. So many you can smell Olive oil all over the pizza. it was a waste of $45.. Definitely will not order from this place again . Totally missing doughboys. I missed the doughboys pizza 🍕.. This customer service that took this order, over the phone. was extremely rude. saying it's a Saturday and he's busy.. So busy that he's selling $50 pizza pies that tastes like garbage. like garbage .. I will never spend my money again... people think that they could treat you like anything and take your money. Well posted 📫 😌 🙄
Ordered a pizza from uber eats. I don't know if the pizza was damaged in transit or piorly packaged but either way it was inedible and next time I'll collect. It looked like it was carried upside down :-( The restaurant replied and apologised, so not their fault - but if you want to order from here then collect!!
Found plastic inside my lasagne which cut my lip. Food was 2 hours late. Arrived cold. When I rang the restaurant the manager said it was not his issue that it was Uber eats issue because they deliver the food. He was rude and was very unapologetic but we still took my money!! I spent 80 dollars in this restaurant to receive cold, bland and a foreign object inside the lasagne. If you don’t want food poisoning STAY AWAY!!!! 🤮 🤮 Look at the photos !!!!
I just ordered a delivery from this place, I asked for a pepperoni pizza with a well done crust, so it would be you know COOKED. What I got was an AWFUL chewie, halfway cooked soggy "pizza" that was inedible and EXPENSIVE! SO SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SKIP THIS PLACE! It's a shame because 10 years ago this place was good...
