Opinions de Pig Heaven New York
One of my favorite spots in the city! The sushi pizza is an underrated gem and in my opinion, one of the best things on their menu. The cooked spicy tuna, mozzarella, and Indian pancake topped with various sauces make a heavenly combination… That being said, the crispy rice volcano will always be a staple though. Food and service are amazing, will definitely be coming back soon!
I ate here two days in a row while I was working in the area. The lunch specials were really good—fresh and affordable. I had sushi one day, the next I had thai coconut curry, and both hit the spot. It’s a chill little spot, perfect for a quick break
We eat Sushis and noodles. It was delicious and also very affordable considering the new york prices. Service was nice. I recommend you to reserve because the inside tables are limited.
We went with my friends to eat sushi. The place is very nice, I like the decoration, they have tables inside and outside. We ordered sushi: Golden Dragon and Manhattan tempura roll. They were delicious!
My girlfriend and I took some sushi to the park for a picnic. She kept commenting how delicious the fish was. It travels well, it’s not too much rice and the ratio fish to rice leans towards protein. A huge fan and would def recc! I get their takeout often and the quality is always high! Delivery is always quick too.
We really enjoyed our experience here. Excellent food and friendly, efficient service
One of the best place I like to visit. Delicious food, very comfortable vibe and most friendly staff ever!
Love coming here the food is always fresh. Ping and Ferry always make sure I have the best service! I always come back because of the service. Thank you!❤️
Crunch spicy Salmon and hot sake is the best!!! The staffs were also very kind, really recommended if yo uwant to spend a calming vibes with japanese style
Food, service and ambience, everything was superb. Loved it!! The food was really fresh and tasty.
It was amazing, the food was delicious and the place was casual and homey. There are all types of Asian cuisine, and it's all really good. The staff there are kind and awesome, and the dessert is yummy. I recommend trying the Salmon Lover Fans sashimi platter. It was so delicious. Highly recommend going here!
Updated January 2021: Been coming here weekly for the last 3 years now! No better place to be honest One of the best sushi lunches I have had in a while. Very fresh sushi served with a delicious miso soup and ginger salad. Very fairly priced for 3 rolls at 14.95...I will definitely be back soon
Delicious rolls and thai cuisines, all in good price range, all with really fresh side dishes and so on! I miss this place so much.
We ordered a series of nigiri and the scallion pancake. Everything was delicious especially for the price. It seemed very much like a local favorite. Me and my partner always sit at the service bar wherever we go and that’s the reason why I’m writing this review. The bartender gave us some of the best service we got in city. Doesn’t linger too long if you want to be left alone but if you want some good conversation or recommendations he’s there for you and can guide you on what to order based on seasonality. We were out of towners and also got incredible advice on where to go next. 10/10 service.
My second time dining here after visiting the MET. Completely satisfied with the food and service both times. First time I ordered Cantonese duck, which was cooked to perfection. This time I ordered crispy pork, which was a perfection 👌! Right amount of spices, crispy, generous portion. It marked with one pepper 🌶 on the menu, but really not that hot, hits all the right spots. The service is quick and friendly. Highly recommend this place for a family dinner or evening with the friends.
Excellent dining experience. The ribs are a must! I hope you are lucky to have Mandy as a server. She was so attentive and an absolute sweetheart! We look forward to returning soon!
The food was tasty and the service was good overall. There was a small awkward moment with a different staff member during checkout, but it didn’t take away too much from the experience. In general, it’s a nice place, and I really like the restaurant’s name.
We have been going to this restaurant for 6-7 years most times when we visit NYC. As a Chinese food aficionado for over 60 years, a Chinatown veteran and a former NY native that misses his Chinese food in Florida, I can honestly say Pig Heaven, despite its unassuming name and appearance, is as good as you can get in NYC. Highly recommend the cold noodles with sesame, all the veggie dishes, especially the Brussels sprouts.everything is fresh, crisp and tasty - nothing disappoints. None of the sauces overwhelm the fresh ingredients of the dishes. Highly recommend!
I LOVE YOU PIG HEAVEN. When I think of this place tears well in my eyes and dro0l rolls down my neck. This place is GOOD. You cannot miss the lovely duck and of course the chongqing dry hot chicken. WOW, I wish that they would open a PIG HEAVEN inside my house so I could eat there EVERYDAY.
10/8/25 We were in the neighborhood for an appointment and decided to stop for lunch. BBQ Ribs are delicious, most Chinese restaurant makes them but are usually tough but these were tender and so flavorful. I wish they were near home hehehe. Peking Duck, while it was super crispy outside and tender inside it was not seasoned. Without the hoisin sauce it would have been a waste of money... Bok Choy with Garlic is delicious, I wish I could make it this good hehehe. If we are ever in the area we would definitely go back. Lots of pig related decorations, cute! Hehehe
With a name like Pig Heaven, I would not expect, as a vegetarian, to give this restaurant a good review. However, they have delicious vegetarian options. The waiter made a record of vegetables with pancakes. It was excellent. The background music was funny. Piano versions of Christmas carols - in August - without words. I would go back. It was a great experience
So my beloved, Lora Papetsas, who is a Michelin Star trained chef who has mentored with Michel Guerard, Alain Senderens, Pierre Troisgros, Roger Verge, Anne Willan and Barbara Tropp decided to surprise me for for Valentine’s Day. I mention this not to impress anybody, but rather to impress upon you that one can can tell a lot as my father would say, “that one can tell how good the cook is by the food they make.” With that in mind, I want to bring up the woman that my beloved trained with as a mentor, Barbara Tropp —- please look her up in Wikipedia that says that she is the one that introduced Asian cuisine to the Americas. Thus we ordered from this restaurant something that is really hard to make, which is a Chilean Seabass which is crispy and has its own sauce along with a Peking duck which also is difficult to make. And of course we ordered egg drop soup and I have to tell you when I saw how the egg drop soup was not full of yolk and yellow, I realized this place was truly authentic. The best way to describe this place is that my beloved echoed what her mentor would say of how Asian cuisine is so amazing and magnificent. So I leave you with this if you’re looking for a place to get a fortune cookie at the end, this is NOT the place because the fortune is actually the meal itself.
I have to say I really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and very attentive service. From making sure my glass was always filled with water, to making crispy duck sandwiches for us right at the table. We ordered a whole duck along with Lo mein and fried rice and everything was delicious and authentic including the Japanese fried chicken appetizer. Its been a long time since I've had fried rice with egg cooked in it. Our server spoke highly of their spare ribs, so we'll definitely be back to try those. About the atmosphere, the restaurant is very nice, spacious, and has a classy, yet relaxed vibe. Bottom line, the food was beyond delicious, the service was the best and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We will be back for sure
I came here with my mom and my younger sister for my birthday. It was amazing! The food is soo good! We had the Peking duck, pork fried rice, shrimp fried rice, beef lo mein, string beans and Japanese fried chicken. My sister loved how fresh everything was! The staff is nice and attentive. We’d definitely come back here for dinner!
Amber is beautifully appointed in a black and brown color scheme rendered in wood, brick, stones and shells. The sushi-centric menu features other Asian cuisines. The basil fried rice for brunch ($17 plus tax) was mildly spicy and included salad, a side (my choice was the vegetable dumplings), and a drink. The shrimp tempura roll ($8.75) was quite good. The only negative critique for the meal was that the suggested tip amount was computed after tax.
Not bad sushi. Thai iced tea was good
Been going here for years. There’s a good sushi deal for dinner and it’s always good enough. Nothing amazing but not bad at all. I’ll keep going back.
Came here to try ribs. Lots of meat compared to other venues. Also the most tender I've had as far as chinese ribs. Taste is on par with our favorite place in Cinatown. We order several dishes. Grand Marnier Shrimp, Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Mushrooms, and Fish Filet. All were delicious though the serving size were smaller than than we expected for the price. The service was friendly and courteous. If you likecribs, give this a try.
Quick service. Friendly staff. Clean. Good quality dim sum. We had popcorn shrimp which was tasty. Spring rolls were hot and crispy. The soup dumplings were some of the best I have ever had. Sesame chicken was great. Lots of sauces and condiments for everything. Limited beer selection. Many cocktails Defaulted to forks but we requested chopsticks and they were immediately provided. No complaints very solid.
First time trying this place during early dinner. Place not crowded coz not dinner time yet. Friendly staff and very attentive. Sushi was good for quick bites. Ordered crispy calamari and found something on one of the calamari piece. Investigated the piece and found a strand of wire (assumed it from the wire brush) on the batter. Glad I did what I did before eating the piece. Told the staff and they didn't charge us that order plus 20% off our tab. Hmm, not sure if I want to go back there tho.
The roast duck were very boney pieces. The sizzling scallops and jumbo shrimp over snow peas were over cooked and rubbery. More mushrooms and vegetables to increase profits. Soups egg drop and won ton were the best part of the meal Sides of white and brown rice were oortioned generously but condiments/sauces never shioiwed up like hot mustard , soy sauce and plum sauce were missing from order. Will never order from Pig Heaven again. It’s tragic that Amazing 66 in Chinatown closed during Covid.
Trash sushi spot, I ordered shrimp tempura roll, no avacado or eel sauce , trash 👎 plain food for 19$ I waited 25 mins for pick up and she had audacity to ask for a tip?
Placed a 50$ order for sushi & forgot to add spicy mayo. I returned to the store to purchase however; the minimum to purchase is 10$. Spicy mayo is $2 bucks and the male hosts couldn’t make an exception, despite me being a LOYAL CUSTOMER and previously placing an order. Considering that I’m a picky eater and can’t eat my sushi without it, I decided to just throw it all out. —a waste of my money. This store offers cheap service & they lost out on a good customer. 0 stars if I could!
Eh have been ordering from this place for years. For the last year it has failed every single time. With every order they forgot to add the chopsticks, the rice, the dipping sauces… always something was missing with the order. And everytime it was on the ticket. They are either not able to read English or are getting cheap and greedy and think no one would call in and request the missing items. Does anyone have a good suggestion for Chinese on the UES? Let me know.
First time coming here from Houston, yes I understand we are in New York but my server was extremely rude, interrupted me every time I tried to order. Plus nobody was here so I don’t know why she was rushing me . I didn’t like my plate but switched plates with my friend which was great but horrible service. Also Didn’t check on us once, had other servers to do stuff for her and completely avoided us. Not sure if it was racism or what. Completely unacceptable . The other servers that helped us were amazing though, kept out water filled the whole time!
The food was horrible! The orange chicken and general tso chicken taste the same. It taste like they use rhe same sauce for both. They had no fried rice only brown rice and the rice was dry. I asked for soy sauce and got home with no soy sauce. I returned and they said that they argued with me about putting soy sauce in my bag. Do you think I would come back out of my comfort while my food is getting cold if I had soy sauce. Ridiculous customer service. I will NEVER return to this place. I will find another Chinese restaurant to patronize.
