Opinions de The Bravest New York
We were on our way to get pizza when we changed our minds and preferred a burger and a drink. We were standing across the street from Bravest and decided to stop in. It felt like a local bar but not in an uncomfortable way. It made us miss hanging out in a local bar years ago. Our waiter was very nice. The drinks were big and the food was delicious. Old rock music was playing, which we enjoyed. We had a great time and relaxed a bit after a stressful week. I'm glad we chose to go in.
A local pointed me towards this bar as I walked around mid town looking for a place to have a drink on a Saturday night and it ended up as one of the best places in the city I’ve ever been. This isn’t a tourist spot, this is where the locals go. Bar staff were friendly, locals were friendly, and there was even live music which really tied the night together. I will definitely be back, and would recommend you check it out too.
Brittney and Poppy are the best bartenders. Great service and great wings. Do not sleep on this bar, it punches above its weight. Good for watching sports - Bills games are a big event here.
Cool local pub vibe. Well cocktails around $14 and beers at $8. Good place to hangout in the area with happy hour and triava on Wednesday. I had the Cheesesteak and enjoyed it.
This is a simple and cozy pub. It was pretty quiet when we arrived on Thursday afternoon. They have a generous happy hour deal on draft beers - $3 off. The IPA I had was delicious. The nachos were very good. It seemed that the staff was familiar with a lot of the patrons. The food looked and smelled very appetizing. They have a lot of TV's around. I would definitely come back here.
I've been meaning to come here for its famous burgers and sandwiches, until I finally was bale to come after a long night out. The space is really cute, like an old-fashioned sports dive bar that is well kept, cleaned & put together. With tons of TV with all the sports you may be interested in. Music is not too loud & good service. The digital menu did not have all the burger choices, but the waiter provided us with the standard menu, which did have 4 or 5 options. The burgers were really good. Meat felt like needed some seasoning, but the overall bite was full in flavor. Also had the boneless chicken wings, BBQ, so yummy and crunchy. The waiter was very helpful with choosing a beer and nailed it. Def would like to come here for another hangover 🙃. And Def recommended whatever ypu live in the area or not. Cheers to the bravest.
We had a great time with our friends celebrating birthday. The atmosphere felt great and chill where you can enjoy conversation with friends, even other customers, and the bartenders. A big shout out to (James) the bartender for awesome service. The food was fresh and crispy. The only drawback is the bathroom’s size which is very small to fit a person and keep the door closed.
The Bravest is a bar, and non - gastronomic pub restaurant dedicated to those that serve as NY Fire Department, and other public service jobs. It seems to have a familiar staff that knows its customers. We went on Won Ton Wednesday by chance to enjoy a $5 bowl of soup (which was actually $7 for won ton shrimp - price needs to be updated from the sign outside), and service was friendly, quick, and kind, despite our very small order. The atmosphere was nice with large TVs broadcasting sports shows. I would recommend. $$ out of $$$$$
Layout/atmosphere *Rectangular bar to right; tables to left (crayons to draw on place mats); eight TVs; Bills bar; pictures and patches of firefighters; four picnic tables on sidewalk Service *Solid Food/drink *Hot dog (bkhdco nitrate-free frank, sauerkraut, spicy brown mustard) - solid; toasted bun; kick from the mustard; dog on the chewier side *LaBatt Blue on tap *Complimentary water cooler
Good burgers. Service was a bit slow, since there was only one server.
Great place to hang out and watch some football. The food was pretty good but the atmosphere was better. They played really good music and the waitress was great. We ordered nachos, a chicken sandwich, and the chipotle chicken quesadilla. The batter to the chicken sandwich was a bit heavy and greasy and so were the quesadillas. But regardless they still hit the spot
Good food nice atmosphere good place to go have some comfort food, and kick back love the country music. 8.28.2025: I went in the bartender informed me that the place is under new ownership. Informed me they were out of quite a few items I ordered the Philly cheese steak. Taste was good but noticed a reduction in the sandwich portion. Hopefully this is a one time thing I really do like this place and would hate to see changes like that.
I liked this place and will come back for sure, even though food took a while to arrive. The fried cauliflower was delicious but my rice bowl, not so much... i will come back to try others things though. The burgers my friends had looked great. Perhaps I chose the wrong thing on the menu. Friendly staff!
This place has so much potential. It's a cool and unique setting. The tap list is solid. The TVs show plenty of games. The staff is friendly but inconsistently attentive. My dining partner liked his meal a lot more than I did. I plan to return and hope for better.
Not many beer or alcohol choices. Out of alot of beer. Tap beer not even cold. Boneless wings were disgusting. Were here once before. Seems to have gone downhill. .
Deeply disturbing experience—beware. I visited this restaurant one Sunday evening with my 11-year-old daughter and encountered one of the most alarming and unprofessional incidents I’ve ever experienced in New York City. The server displayed hostility from the start, but the situation escalated into outright aggression. After I calmly raised concerns about my meal, he became confrontational, photographed my plate without consent, and loudly insisted I pay—despite me never refusing to do so. He then threw the credit card reader in my direction, nearly hitting me, and physically blocked us from leaving the restaurant even after payment was made (receipt timestamped). My daughter and I were physically obstructed from exiting, even pushing us back with his body, and he falsely claimed we hadn’t paid and that he called the police on us—refusing to even glance at the digital receipt I showed him. This escalated to the point where I feared for our safety as we had to push past him to escape. We found a police car parked a block away and reported the incident, but the officers treated us dismissively and appeared sympathetic to the server rather than to the mother and child. Despite explaining clearly that we had been unlawfully detained, the response was apathetic at best, and in parts condescending. One officer even mischaracterized my attempt to leave as an act of aggression. This experience was not just about poor food and service—it involved intimidation, and a disturbing lack of accountability from both the restaurant and responding officers. No parent should have to shield their child from that kind of treatment, and no child should be ignored by law enforcement after such an event. Absolutely unacceptable. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to think twice before dining here. *Photo of the server/perpetrator talking with police--beware!
Dear Bravest Owner, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the treatment my family received at Bravest on 6:30 PM, 3/7. My husband, our 17-month-old child, and I visited your restaurant for dinner, expecting a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, we were subjected to unfair treatment that left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. During our meal, my husband and I had a private disagreement—nothing loud or disruptive. At no point did our child make any noise or cause any disturbance; he was well-behaved and enjoying his time at the restaurant. However, a customer from a nearby table approached us and expressed unwarranted concern about our child. I asked this individual to mind her own business, as our child was fine. To our surprise, shortly after this exchange, the restaurant manager approached us and demanded that we leave, claiming we were disturbing other customers. This was simply not true, as evidenced by another diner who later checked in on me and assured me I had done nothing wrong. Despite this, the manager returned and insisted that we leave, accusing us of being too loud when responding to the other customer. The situation escalated when the manager called the police. We chose to remain in the restaurant until the police arrived because we knew we had done nothing wrong. When the officers arrived, multiple customers stood up for us and confirmed that we had not caused any disruption. Meanwhile, the manager avoided addressing the situation directly and refused to speak to the police. This experience was deeply upsetting. My family was treated unfairly and made to feel unwelcome without justification. The actions of your staff, particularly the manager, were not only unnecessary but also unprofessional. I hope you take this matter seriously and address the behavior of your management team to ensure future customers do not have to endure similar treatment. I would appreciate a formal response regarding this matter and an explanation of how your restaurant intends to prevent such incidents in the future.
After a long work week, my coworker & I decided to come here for drinks and light bites. I've been here over a dozen times and always had a good experience except for last night. Our waitress Mia wasn't welcoming at all, had an objection to almost everything that I requested, didn't give us any napkins or utensils with our food, and charged both of our cards for the tip when only my friend paid the tip. The whole experience was uncomfortable and frustrating. I'm never going back and it's due to her (Mia's) service alone unfortunately. (FYI, in the details it says that happy hour is all day however it ends at 7 p.m.)
