Opinions de The Edge New York
My wife and I had brunch today at The Edge. Our reservation was at 2 and when we walked in the lovely host Jasmine greeted us and showed us to our table. The vibe was amazing!! Our server Alexis was great! I really appreciate how all of the servers were attentive to what we needed. The food was absolutely delicious. My wife and I had ackee & salt fish. However she had it with festival & kale and I had grits and avocado. It was all fabulous!! We can’t wait to return. Thank you Edge for a great experience especially in my hometown of Harlem!!
This place was a very pleasant surprise. Nice space. Looks like your local neighborhood spot or cool after work go to. Nice looking crowd, casual vibe, nice and friendly service. Food and drinks were 👍🏾👍🏾. We had cod fritters and jerk wings apps, shrimp in curry sauce,... delicious
OMG the food was amazing & to have been here for 11 years & I've never been is crazy. We have definitely found us a new breakfast/brunch spot. The staff was also friendly which is very important to me . Come try this place, you won't be disappointed. SB: I'm very hard to impress when it comes to food because I'm an amazing cook. 😂
Walked in to make a lunch reservation for a big party for the same day. For this very professional staff it was not a problem. We were seated on time and served a great meal that we all enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Among the range of choices- tuna melt, chicken and waffles, coconut fishburger, and others everyone loved their dishes. An impressive crowd for a Thursday afternoon but the staff handled everything with ease. Will return with great pleasure anytime.
This place is IT! We decided to try this place for brunch and we were completely blown away— the initial impression was something to write about. The place was clean the decor was lovely, albeit small, the service was impeccable and the food, sublime, even the playlist was relative and played a role in our food experience. The carafe of ginger mimosa was refreshing and I felt my palate tickled with every sweet sip. The soup was a first, and a beautiful one. It was smooth creamy and delicious ! All the appetizers were spot-on in flavor presentation and taste. The entrees were delightful, I loved the festivals, they tasted just the way I expected them to. Yum! The grits were filling and velvety and the flavor was mild, the tacos are worth the try, the kale was not soft at all, it had a nice crunch in every bite and you could just taste the health in every bite. The bread pudding was out of this world! You have to try it! This place is the perfect place for nostalgic Jamaican food, or some authentic NYC eats. Check out the pics. Go to Edge, don’t walk, run!
I went to this restaurant today for brunch, and I had such a great experience! The service was excellent — super attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Overall, everything was well-organized and smooth. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for a good brunch spot!
This place is a vibe. Great brunch spot, I went on a Tuesday. They had fresh flowers on the table . I got the curry chicken sandwich. I enjoyed the option of salad on the plate. My girl got the jerk chicken ... I would say they aren't as spicy as jerk chicken that I know, but the flavors are rich and decadent. Will check out the dinner or drink next time.
So freaking good! Came across this place for Sunday brunch and everything was so freaking good. Pretty big space inside. The food was so delicious and big portions too. The menu has Jamaican, English and American fare. The food came out lightning fast. Every bite of my BLT with Jamaican Jerk chicken was to die for. The shrimp and grits was also perfect in every way. And plenty left over to take home. This a great place and very popular too.
We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was bustling. I imagine weekend brunch is a whole vibe. The ambiance inside is inviting, warm and cozy (see photos). I appreciate the artwork, photographs and decor. It speaks to the rich heritage of Harlem and specifically to the area where the restaurant is located. There’s a decent amount of seating, some tables are closer to others than I prefer. However our table was perfect for me. You can make reservations which might be a good idea. There is also a good amount of outdoor seating. Visit their website for the policy regarding time allowed at table (to be able to accommodate more customers)… seems reasonable to me. Maia took good care of us. She was friendly, attentive without being intrusive and on point. She came back and checked on us although the restaurant was bustling as mentioned previously. There is a list of specials beautifully written on their board. With so many dishes I wanted to try… I must return (maybe for one of the live music events). I was intrigued by the fusion of food from different cuisines. I ended up ordering curry chicken sandwich with salad and plantain on the side. It was a good portion. I was full without feeling overstuffed. Definitely worth a trip to Harlem to check them out.
The restaurant sits on a quiet block outside of the hustle and bustle of where other Harlem eateries can be located and look like. I appreciated that...Food was surprisingly good! It was fresh, hot and flavorful especially because I expected to be underwhelmed by sandwiches. Service was also good! It was busy and even though we were late for our reservation the restaurant accommodated us right away and we were ordering with in 5 minutes of sitting down and eating within 20!
Decided to try The Edge Harlem because the menu seemed interesting. My husband had the pancakes which he enjoyed amd i had the salad which was ,ok. I also ordered the codfish fritters which were ok as well. I was expecting to taste more of the fish chunks- but there was more flour added. The atmosphere is comfy and cool. I wasnt impressed but I would give it another try.
I wanted to love this place so badly!! The ambiance and service were wonderful!!! This was my first time in Harlem and I was excited to try this Caribbean spot. I ordered the Jerk Chicken and waffles, and was surprisingly underwhelmed. The jerk chicken was dry and got cold quickly. It also could have used a bit more spices to bring out the flavor. The waffles were soft, which I liked, but everything got cold really quickly. My friend also didn’t finish her burger (and she’s Caribbean 🥴) The codfish fritters were the best thing I had and would order them again. The atmosphere was great, music was a vibe, the service was wonderful! Just wish the food hit like everything else did as well.
Not the best experience. We read the good reviews and we were really looking forward to eating here for Sunday brunch. I now question those reviews. The place is very small and they did not have some food items. The people who were seated near us and left before us, left a lot of food barely touched. That should have been a sign. The codfish fritters were undercooked, we sent them back to be cooked and they still were not edible. The crab cakes were not worth the price. They were more bread than anything else. My husband thought the jerk chicken and waffles was “okay” I ordered the ackee and salt fish with kale, it was okay. My friend did not like the jerk chicken quesadilla or kale salad. She couldn’t even finish it. I don’t know who wrote the five star reviews. There was nothing there 5 star worthy. We will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone we know.
