I have been a customer for over 20 years. My family have loved the food and service at Yura. Their cherry pie and tiramisu are simply the best on the UES.
Started coming here as it’s close to my work, loved it each time I came- several different items that I’ve tried are great including the sugarless blueberry scone (no added sugar) which i love. Happy to have this place close by
Wonderful coffee, sandwiches, pastry. A few entries. A warm, comfortable delightful alternative to Starbucks. Popular with Mothers and daughters from local schools. A true part of Carnegie Hill.
I've been enjoying Yura's baking for over 20 years. When I first moved to the neighborhood she had a tiny sliver of a shop on Third Avenue. Many chapters later she continues to provide some of the best American style baked goods in the City, with thoroughly delicious pies, layer cakes, puddings and muffins. My favorites include the award-winning pumpkin pie, butterscotch pudding and farm cake muffin, (devil's food with a creamy cheese cake filling). Highly recommended!
The warm chicken salad is innovative and addictive with its fresh mixed greens, sweet beets, crisp apples, goat cheese, and magical mustard dressing!
Awesome food! Extremely wonderful staff. They gave me complimentary soup to try😍 I am hooked on the chilli soup. Nice chocolate cake with cappuccino!
Best pumpkin pie.
Yura - you nailed it with your Thanksgiving menu. The process was so smooth, it was the right amount of food and it was all sooo super delicious. Thank you!!
Pretty good cup of coffee, excellent staff and delicious baked goods. Some of the best home fries in the city!
This is the cutest place and subtle with it. All the food looks homemade and restaurant quality at the same time. If you’re on the UES stop by for a good strong coffee, refreshing beverage or amazing food!
Really nice coffee shop! Friendly atmosphere, clean space, plenty of sitting. We had some cappuccinos and a slice of the delicious pecan pie!

I like their daily entree meals. It’s really good quality, even better than some restaurants quality sometimes. Only downside is that it’s a little pricey- $28–$30 per meal. I also enjoy their dessert. The only thing I didn’t like is the soup. It’s a little too salty for me. I’d rather have the soup from WholeFoods. The staff are really friendly. One time I forgot to pick up the rice for my salmon meal. The lady was really friendly about it. The croissant looks like good quality too but I never tried it. There are so many other good croissant places in UES so I haven’t had to chance to try theirs.
I ordered platters for a small reception. Everything was delicious and looked beautiful. Delivery came on time. Yura was very helpful in our phone conversations. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience.
I was here around Thanksgiving to pick up a pumpkin pie. This is the best pumpkin pie I've had to date. The crust is perfectly flaky, and yet firm and crispy enough to support a creamy pumpkin filling. Talk about textural contrast! The pumpkin filling in itself is smooth and very spiced in a balanced manner. I made the perilous crosstown-and-up trek for this and I don't regret it at all. Would even do it again.
Amazing soups and cakes. I just wish that they had more salads and choices like the old Yura had. I wish they make the salmon salad and the barley with corn which was great.
Fresh tasty food, it is a small place and it gets busy and they do their best at taking care of everyone, no complaints. Will definitely be back!
In the 90s my mom used to take me here every week after ballet class (back when Yura was located on, I think, 92nd) and I would always get the turkey pinwheels and a mini vanilla cupcake. Nearly 30 years later, the cupcakes are identical to how I remembered them, no doubt creating fond memories for a new generation of little kids. 10/10
Fantastic though definitely expensive place for casual but delicious lunch food. Best are the prepared foods behind the counter on the far right and the desserts. Keep an out for their dessert specials like strawberry shortcake for the weeks when strawberries are in season. Also a shout out for the tea cakes and sandies...

The food is a bit pricey but good. Didn’t like finding the store, though. Hint: it’s the unmarked white building 😑
It's not what it once was, but I do like this iteration. The food is still excellent and high quality. Minus one star as there is no indoor seating and sidewalk tables are hit or miss.
Yura's baked goods are exceptional, but it seems recipes get tweaked quite a bit, so while you can expect consistently high quality, don't assume that cakes with similar names purchased a few months apart will taste the same.
Food is awesome. Possibly the best place for breakfast on the Upper East Side. But the lines are always crazy in the morning. Definitely try the zucchini muffins!
Bought Yura's TG apple pie.....FABULOUS!! (Snuck a slice b4 Thurs).. Perfect...
Expensive but worth it, stop by usually every week for their home made chips and cookies.
I love the salads at this place. They’re fresh, delicious, and unique. However, I think it’s absolutely despicable that they still do not allow customers to sit inside and eat their purchase when they have all that seating. If I’m in the neighborhood it’s for work or an appointment and in the winter or this 90 degree heat it’s absolutely absurd and so disrespectful of your customers.
Great soups! Friendly staff, but new location is disappointing -- what is with the ice bucket full of sandwiches wrapped in plastic? I've purchased several soggy sandwiches -- this needs to be rethought. I now only go here when I don't feel like walking far from my office, when I used to come for lunch at least 3-4 times a week. Good for pastries to go and catering, but I can't eat pastries and I miss the grab and go food options and prepared foods. Prior to the move this would have been a 5 star review. Now? Meh.

Tasty pre-made sandwiches and decent baked goods. Ideal for a lunch on the go. A bit overpriced for the food!
An Upper East Side staple, Yura on Madison serves up great overpriced food. A favorite for prep school girls to grab a snack or a lunch (if you call a tiny sandwich or salad lunch). The farmcake muffins are to die for, and so is the corn and barley salad. A must visit though is the tiny second branch of Yura next door. They serve hot food and it is delicious!
Grabbed a Greek Salad for $10.50. Not a memorable experience, but an economical lunch. Extensive sandwich menu.
The breakfast wrap was pretty good, and I appreciated the toasting on all sides. The ham was a tad over salty though. The pancakes were a good texture of fluffiness. The coffee was unfortunately a bit flavorless. I liked that the plates looked like disposable paper plates but were actually reusable. I wish the same were true of the coffee containers and condiment holders. The place was brightly lit and clean.

Very nice place to have a little lunch on the upper east side. Unfortunately, the woman at the counter was very rude - so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place!
Just ok, never know what you gonna get. They only prepare enough of a few kinds of items. If u like their raisin scones they only sell them on Wednesdays and the mystery goes on. You come there to buy what u like but they have what they like to sell. If this is ok for u then go, if a coffee and croissant is all you need they almost always have these items anything else is a carp shoot, otherwise Eli's down the street(91st) is much better , consistent with what they offer.
My mom sends me all the way from Washington Heights just to buy the 7 Grain Loaves of their bread. She loves it. But... half a loaf for $6.50. That is ridiculously expensive. The sandwiches and everything else on the menu is for the wealthy. If prices were reasonable then I'd rate this shop 4.5 out of 5. I hope they start selling that 7grain bread on the west side, because it's so hectic to have to take a Subway and a crosstown bus just for a loaf of bread.

Terrible service. Lia (sp ?) one of the managers is repellent. Let me know when she gets fired, , I might go back but for now, check out Eli's one block south on Madison, better food, better selection and no obnoxious management issues.
Awful. Apparently everything is too much trouble here - in particular, don't ask for a tea they haven't heard of, or ask to have your coffee made the way you like it, as they have their own policies regarding how they will or will not make your coffee. And don't ask for a porcelain cup - despite the prices, it's paper cups only.
The food is good; however, the service is extremely slow!!!! The coffee is flavorless.. iced coffee tastes watered down.
I am a regular, as I work across the road. Everything they serve is absolutely incredible. My low review has to do with a recent unpleasant experience. I went there today some days, and they demanded that I paid for an old bill as they claimed my card hadn't been charged. I said of course, sorry, but when I looked for the card number in the ticket to verify it against mine, there was none, just a handwritten note from one of their staff indicating it was me (the woman who is this and looks like this and this) who hadn't paid. It was 12USD, so no problem with paying it, but I truly disliked the informal way in which they made me pay for an invoice that had no official connection to me except a random note. I paid, but I would invite the manager to train their staff to only dispatch customers once transactions are complete. In wanting to cram to0 many people, the care towards loyal customers has suffered. This unfortunately left a vey bitter taste about a place that I had come to regard very highly.
Their catering office doesn't answer the phone or respond to emails. You have to chase them to give them business.
Not good management. They are very dismissive and if they don't like the look of the customer, they are not interested. A lot of staff turnover.... I wonder why?? I live on the block!!
The service is the worst in New York City. The price is medium. The banana coconut cake is so good.
Terrible service. The cashier on Thursday afternoon was dismissive. Didn't take my order walked to the back. Not a great experience. Will not return anytime soon.
STAY AWAY, I bought sandwich today at the Yura place on 103 str between Madison and Lex and I got sick!!! Feel so bad, I didn’t eat anything this morning except their sandwich and still cant eat! This place is dangerous! Avoid in any ways! I’m going to report them to NYC health department!
I was very disappointed to find that the price of a quart of cold chicken broth, a popular choice for Passover and something not normally on their menu, was $16 on Friday, when their other soups were only $12 per quart.
The man who answers the phones and manages the store is an extremely rude, condescending, arrogant and angry man with zero understanding of customer service and how to treat regulars.
I got pancakes and it was probably the worst pancakes I've ever had. They only gave one syrup , which I'm happy I didn't pay extra for . I even caught a headache from it. I had to go to the store to buy something sweet to get this disgusting taste out of my mouth . 1 lady was very rude when i ask to takenit to go she gave me a dorty lookbafter i said i wanted it to stay. ONLYgood thing is that 1 other lady working there was very nice.
Ordered pick-up I was told it will be ready in 15 mins after the call. I didn't pick up my order until an hour after. Got in the store, paid and then waited 5 mins to get my order. I understand they are busy we all are that's why I ordered an hour before to avoid another wait time - just pick it up and go. An apology or a thank you for waiting should be good enough instead of giving their customer an attitude.
I’m not sure what they wash their greens with but the salad I bought tasted strongly of chemicals even before putting on the dressing. The cashier was also very rude at checkout.
the new location is horrible! i bought a tuna-fish sandwich for over $8.00. When I got back to my office to eat it there was hardly any tuna on the sandwich. I called back to speak to the manager (Mike) he was terribly rude and began to challenge me about the skimpy sandwich, bragging that his cook has been making sandwiches for over 10 years, really? It just was a matter of principal, at their old location I never had a problem...they must be financially doing poorly, so sorry to hear that!
