Absolutely loved this place! The bar is gorgeous and has such a cozy, romantic vibe. Perfect spot to grab a drink with friends or go on a date. The food was delicious, beautifully plated, and the candlelight just made everything feel extra special! The staff were professional and super respectful — they knew exactly when to step in and when to give you space. That alone made the experience even better. Also worth mentioning — there’s a private room with a big table that’s perfect for company dinners or large parties. Can’t wait to come back
Pleasantly surprised stumbling into this place. Great selection of wines, apps, entrees. Prime Rib sandwich was good. Have a Sunday Prime Rib special too. Bread was crazy good with lots of butter. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions based upon our food and drink mood. Too many options for one visit so we'll definitely be going back there to try some more of the yummy items on the menu.
Stunning room, amazing food, great service.. Olea in Newport Beach really has it all. The restaurant is beautiful inside with rich materials and tones that make you feel like you are in a high end spot but with that casual OC vibe that is very approachable. Both our server and Chef David made us feel right at home and gave some great recommendations. The food was outstanding start to finish.. the house made Agnolotti in a brown butter sauce was a real show stopper even as a starter! The texture of the pasta was perfectly firm with a nice chew and the sauce was the best brown butter sauce ever. Next the fried green tomatoes were very tasty, crispy and great contrast to the pasta. For mains the bone in Ribeye steak was a home run.. they cover it in a delicious steak sauce and the blue cheese mash is also really good. The quality of the steak was top notch.. extremely tender and flavorful. The chicken schnitzel was actually lighter with no heavy breading and the flavor was lovely. Overall Olea in Newport is solid 5 stars across the board.. service and food great.
Excellent experience. Very nice restaurant, with great ambiance and friendly vibe. Great professional service. Our food was delivered in a fast and efficient fashion without feeling rushed. Great drinks, great service, great food. All of the food for our large party (appetizers and salad and entrees) was excellent. We had delicious wedge salad, excellent agnolotti, delicious Jidori chicken schnitzel, and my baked Alaskan Halibut was excellent! Excellent. Definitely recommend.
Highly recommend this absolute gem of a restaurant. Came here initially for just a drink but ended up staying for apps, dinner, and dessert! The restaurant and ambiance was elevated but approachable. We each had different cocktails and received helpful recommendations from the friendly bartender. The food was absolutely fabulous and nice-sized portions. We discussed and hem hawed on dessert and decided not to do the cookie ice cream sandwiches (more accurately I wanted to but my brother and husband were too full) - but the bartender surprised us with one fully comped. So generous and we really enjoyed it!
Do yourself a favor and order the Pork Belly appetizer to start. Your taste buds will thank you and later on while you're lying in bed from the food coma you will fall asleep with a smile on your face. Pretty much everything on this menu is a must try so you can't go wrong. Make sure to cap your dinner off with the dark chocolate chunk cookies but keep in mind that dessert is large and delicious. Cheers
This is a regular haunt of mine which I absolutely love. Tonight me and my fiancee sat at the bar and were served by Inga who is absolutely a professional at her job you can tell in her attention to detail. We had 2 of my favorites the focaccia bread and agnolotti which we get every time because they are so good!!! This place is very consistent and everytime we go we are always very happy to have gone.

Love this place! Great atmosphere with great service and the food is amazing. Definitely try the skillet-baked mac’n’cheese With chicken skin topping. Shout-out to Inga for amazing service while dining at the bar.
My daughter picked this Olea Restaurant for her birthday yesterday. We ordered short ribs, Chilean Sea Bass, American Wagu Burger with two appetizers tomato soup and butter salad. My tomato soup was amazing and it brought me back 6 months ago we were in Italy. It's so tasty. Chilean Sea Bass was an excellent choice. It had white raisins in there, it's so good. My daughter's favorite was short ribs that's so good and it's braised perfect. Its aroma smelled so good. Finally, my lamb shanks filled me up perfectly. Besides all the food were good. Amber, the waitress was very nice and fun to have her for waiting our table. Thanks Amber 🙏, you made our food one notch better. Mike, the manager was very nice by walking around and making sure everything is good. Thanks both of you and we definitely not only come back but we will share the experience with you with our friends about the Olea Restaurant.
We had a Valentine’s Day reservation at another restaurant about 10 minutes away at 8:30 PM, but when we arrived, they told us we would have to wait 45 minutes to an hour even with a reservation. Very disappointing. We called this restaurant instead, and they gave us a 9:00 PM table. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. The service was warm and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were more reasonable. We’re honestly so glad we ended up here. Thank you for making our night special. Highly recommend!
Really wonderful food and service. They hit that sweet spot for the spot to be a great place for a special dinner, a casual bar and fun patio all in one, which is not easy to do. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly. Cocktails were great, I got the Violet one. Special Red Snapper was amazing ontop of their mashed potatoes. I would definitely recommend!
Amazing! We were a little discouraged by the strip mall location, but don’t judge this book by its cover (location)!! Wonderful ambiance, gracious and informative service, and delectable dishes. We loved the quiet live music. The food was well-prepared and the flavors were perfectly complimentary. Highly recommended!!
Came here for a work function and fell in love with the place! They have a great selection of food and wine. The vibe was incredible. The staff was super friendly. This is the perfect spot to celebrate or go out for a special occasion.
The dining atmosphere was uplifting and comfortable, making the restaurant a perfect spot for both casual and special meals. Staff interactions were consistently kind, leaving guests feeling welcomed and valued. The menu provided a balance of familiar favorites and creative options, ensuring everyone could find something appealing. Food quality was excellent, arriving quickly and full of flavor. Presentation was neat and inviting, with careful attention to detail. Drinks were served promptly, and staff ensured refills were never delayed. Cleanliness added another layer of comfort, reinforcing the sense of care. Overall, the restaurant provided an experience that exceeded expectations.
Great food and friendly service. The atmosphere was comfortable and everything tasted fresh. I will definitely come back.

Very nice place, plenty of energy around dinner time. Getting a table was pretty easy, I do recommend a reservation. The meatball appetizer was fabulous. Seafood was very good. Service was on top of it.

We've been there twice now and some favs are the Pumpkin Agnolotti 😋 Rosemary Bread to dip in the pumpkin sauce and Trout Dip with Crostini. My brother devoured the Salmon and sis loved her Halibut though I found it a little dry on our first visit and didn't love all the giant chunks of vegetables.
We've just recently visited Olea. We arrived for an earlier Dinner the place was almost empty besides a few people enjoying themselves. We were lead outside under a canapee even though there were several open tables inside and further away from the drafty opening of the Canapee. I asked if we could take the table further away from the doorway, the Lady who seated us told us the tables were all reserved by 6 (we arrived at 5.20) but the heaters were on. They were on full blast , you basically got fried and then the super cold draft from the wind that evening. It was really unpleasant. The free tables didn't get filled by 6 , some of them were still open by the time we left. (This is the reason why I didn't give 5 out of 5 points) Besides this issue with the heat and cold wind, it was a nice night out. Our Waiter was very attentive and kind , he recommended some of the dishes and we ordered the House made Sugar Pumpkin Agnolotti 10/10 This was the best dish of all the ones we got. It was perfect combination of sweet and acidity from the goat cheese, the roasted hazelnut gave it a round end. The whole dish just tasted like heaven. I wish it would've been a little bit bigger. Crispy Kurobuta Pork Belly with cast iron roasted Brussel sprouts 7/10 The flavor itself was good. The pork belly very dry and not really crispy. The Pecan gave it a nice crisp, the Brussel sprouts were good but we had better ones at other places. Crispy Jidory Chicken Schnitzel with Maitake Mushrooms 9/10 The Schnitzel was crispy, little dry, the sauce had a very strong lemon flavor, the mushrooms were good and the Spätzle fantastic. The Schnitzel could've been pounded thinner to make it more tender (but this is just my opinion) Chefs Nightly Special Selection 9/10 I had a Ribeye Center , with wintergreens ( Romanesco , Cauliflower ) I opted for the Spätzle with my Steak. I liked the flavor of this dish a lot. The steak was medium rare , on point very well prepared. The Vegetables perfectly prepared , the only thing I didn't like was the amount of Oil on the Spätzle other than that it was a fantastic Dinner.
Drinks are excellent here. Great mixologist. Fried green tomatoes are a must try. I wouldnt recommend the rib eye that lack flavor and was overcooked. Overall the dishes were good.

Very attentive service and food is quite good. The deviled eggs with caviar is a notch above. And the pork shank had all the right crispy bits and all the juicy tender bits as well. Nicely stocked bar too!
My husband and I stopped in during our stay in Newport Beach and were immediately impressed by both the interior design and the level of service. From the host to our server to the bussers, everyone was polished, professional, and genuinely warm. The bussers in particular stood out; they were exceptionally attentive and clearly on top of their game. There was a live musician and singer, which added to the atmosphere without overpowering the room. The volume was well balanced, allowing for easy conversation, which is no small feat and very much appreciated. We started with the caviar and ordered the schnitzel and prime rib for our mains. The food was well executed and aligned with the overall experience we expected. The one area where the restaurant fell short was the cocktail program. Given the ambiance and the way the drinks are presented on the menu, our expectations were high, and unfortunately the cocktails did not match the level of the rest of the experience. In fact, while still seated, I found myself looking for another nearby spot where we might go afterward for a truly well-crafted cocktail. Overall, a beautiful space with excellent service and strong food, but the beverage program did not live up to the otherwise elevated standard.

The food here is below par. The standout is the brûlée, but besides that the sauce for every dish feels like playing a tasting game—sometimes a great adaptation to the meat and veggies, but more often than not, it ruins the flavor. I wouldn't recommend it. While the food itself is okay, the overwhelming influence of the sauce diminishes the overall tastiness.

The agnolotti was really good. We got the focaccia which tasted stale and wasn’t toasted enough. The fried tomato with burrata wasn’t the best. The chicken schnitzel was quite plain.
