If you don't eat here you are missing out on good food. Loved loved loved it. Best Italian food I've ever eaten.
We had a lovely, relaxing time, with a delightful dinner! There was excellent service, even though they were busy. We had a pepperoni pizza and a margherita pizza. There was a lot of cheese and the tomatoes sauce tasted like it was made with real, fresh tomatoes. To top it off we had a complimentary salad and then cannoli's for dessert! We would definitely recommend La Cucina Di Mamma to anyone. We wish they would expand to Denver!!!
I wanted some Italian food and I saw the reviews for this place which was 5 stars so I thought I try it. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! The salad that came with my entree was small, but very fresh and the balsamic dressing with oil was delicious. The bread is freshly cut and WARM!! I ordered the jumbo shrimp in tomatoes sauce and garlic. It was AMAZING. I usually think tomatoe sauce is bland, but it wasn’t to bad and the garlic was freshly cut. I added some pepper and Parmesan to it and it was so good! I received friendly, quick service. The only negative is this place is not in a appealing area. A lot of the places right before the falls is run down, which was SHOCKING. It is very small, but it has an intimate environment and it’s very nice. The food makes up for it! This place can fill up quick because it’s small. They do take walk ins (like me) although if you’re a bigger party I would call to make reservations especially around dinner time. This is the BEST Italian food I’ve ever had in my life. I’m coming from the DELMARVA area!
Great cheese and raviolis with meatballs, best raviolis in town. The chef even came to the table and asked if everything was okay and everything was excellent the waitress was very polite and kind the place reminds me of Little Italy. Friendly with soft Italian music and great wine what a place to go and relax and have great food I rate this place 10 Stars. People should go and try this place out you would really like it they have all kinds of food and they will cater to anything you need or want. I'll be coming back again and again. Never thought there would be a restaurant like this in Niagara Falls the best.
This gem was worth the wait. The food is amazing full stop. Delicate flavors abound in each dish. The dining room though tiny, is a dazzling clockwork of timed expertise. How they seat, feed, and clean are a testament to the staffs time maintenance. Our waiter was always there to answer and explain every detail. Please just eat the food, it will speak for itself far better that I could ever do it justice.
Looks are deceiving! Small place but food was the BEST I've ever had! Beef Barley soup was 🤌 oh my so good. They played a record during dinner and 2 older Italian gentlemen sat next to my table speaking in Italian! The waitress was amazing !
Went for mine and a friends thirtieth birthday. We came from Ohio. Glad we found the place. Food was absolutely delicious and service was good. Wait was a bit longer than expected due to lack of staff, but would absolutely go again! Service was still great and love that it is locally owned and operated. Genuine Italian cuisine.
Excellent food at this hidden gem. My wife had the best carbonara, my daughter ate "the best pizza of her life" and my spaghetti and meatballs were amazing! It was great to find this restaurant instead of all the chain establishments in a busy tourist town. Our waiter was very friendly and personable. The Frank Sinatra music was relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing. A+
Small menu BUT have all the favorites and they were done exceptionally! If we weren't from Atlanta, Id be back again and again...especially for those meatballs. Compliments to the chef 😘👌🏼
I can not express how happy we both were with this excellent establishment! The service was beyond superb! The dinner was some of the best pasta we have ever had! We shared a meal and there was more than enough. The side salads and bread were amazing! I had messaged on Facebook to enquire about tiramisu. They do not normally have this on the menu, but offered to make it for us for the next day when we were going there. As soon as we got there, they knew exactly who we were and the tiramisu was out of this world! I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone! You will not be disappointed!
Don't miss your chance to get some of the best Italian food in Niagara Falls.
We arrived around 730pm. The host "Joe" was friendly and very attentive. The food was EXCELLENT, PERIOD. The flavor was spot on and the protein wasn't overcooked. The jumbo shrimp with spaghetti in tomato sauce was excellent. My lady had the chicken fantasia and that was great as well. The food looked so good, I didn't even want to eat it. "Joe" made us a concoction of pistachio, strawberry and chocolate ice cream that was "to die for". WOW. My legs are doing the happy dance under the table. This is definitely a place that will quench your hungry and the Luciano Pavaratti playing in the background is a nice touch.
Small quaint restaurant but as we were telling patrons who were waiting for a table, it's worth the wait! Appetizer selected was the calamari. Fried crisp and tender with a great marinara sauce for dipping. Not a single piece was rubbery which means they know how to cook it. Perfection! Salad was a variety of fresh baby greens, red onions and grape tomatoes in what must of been their house dressing. Fantastic flavor! Bread basket consisted of hot fresh Italian bread. Main course was spaghetti and meatballs in a marinara sauce. Two large meatballs with absolutely delicious seasonings in a big bowl of spaghetti. Too much for one person and looking forward to leftovers. Ambience was cute - a record player played Dean Martin albums. Wait staff attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend this place!
Nice quiet place in the corner of the hotel. Authentic Italian dishes served in a relaxing atmosphere. Scratch made dishes were tasty and the cannolis for dessert were amazing.
The food was great. We could tell the food was freshly made not from a package. The dining room was cozy and you can see the kitchen and see the chef preparing the meals. The waiter was super friendly. My sister and I enjoyed it so much we visited a second time but we got it to go and the food was still good but would recommend eating at the restaurant.
Best Italian restaurant I have been to. My wife loves the pizza, as well as myself. The location is very convenient if you're staying at Fairfield or other near by hotels. The staff are extremely friendly and the cook stays on top of maintaining the customers if the servers miss you. It is a hole in the wall location and the food top notch. Lastly, get the desert menu, you won't regret it!
Great little Italian restaurant in Niagara Falls, NY. Seating is very limited so make sure you go either early or call ahead. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
I discovered this lovely small restaurant last night with 4 friends. Three of us had the eggplant parmesian and my husband had the veal marsala. All of the food tasted freshly made and the flavors of the ingredients stood out, rather than being hidden under mountains of cheese. The eggplant was grilled, not breaded and deep fried. The dinners came with freshly baked sicilian style bread and a salad - fresh mixed greens and a simple vinegarette. At the end of dinner the very nice waiter brought out complementary canoli. Reminded me of our trip to Italy.
Spaghetti and meatballs, house salad was well worth the wait, reservations worthy, first 5 star
Very small location and had to wait nearly an hour, however, it makes it up with the food and overall experience. The food was amazing and filling. The best Italian I have ever had. I would recommend calling ahead and checking wait times or better yet make a reservation.
Delicious traditional Italian food. Friendly and accommodating staff.
One of my favorite Italian places in the country. There are only about 5 tables, so the atmosphere is always intimate. The staff have all been there for years and they’re incredibly attentive. Everything on the menu is top of the line.
We came in town from Louisiana & wanted to try something near Niagara Falls. We are so glad we came here. The food and service was amazing!! I will be dreaming about that meal for a long time 🥲
Wonderful family dinner for 12! Started out with delicious fresh baked bread, green salads and generous wine pours. Everyone loved their entrée...from the kids' cheese ravioli to the chicken and eggplant parmesans and my tender chicken marsala. Our server was attentive and calm especially considering she was taking care of the 25 customers there that night! Highly recommend you go there!!!
I have eaten here a few times the past couple years, staff has been great. The food has been amazing each time, one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. I would have a hard time choosing between Chefs or La Cucinas chicken parm. This is a small place which fits about 20-30, so get there early to try it out.
Wonderful place to go and enjoy some really tasty food!! The spaghetti and meatballs was amazing!!
It was amazing. It didn’t pop up on our search of restaurants but we happened to see it and are glad we did. Kids enjoyed Veal Parm and Fettucini Alfredo and they were great to do a butter spaghetti noodle for our particular 5 year old. Clearly just a small locally owned and operated place with small seating, but spectacular!
Small, quaint Italian restaurant serving big Italian dishes. The dining area has eight tables. We waited about thirty minutes, but it was well worth the wait. If you love a great pasta dish or pizza, don’t skip this place on size alone. They could win hands down against the biggest!
we walked into the restaurant not expecting too much, but we were greeted by a very friendly and passionate waiter that seemed to really care about his restaurant. The cooks in the kitchen were also very friendly and served us some of the best Italian food I’ve had in the US. The prices seemed high at first, but were absolutely justified for the quality and taste of the food. After we were done we got takeaway bags for the leftover food, which tasted very good even after being warmed up again. 5/5 would recommend to anyone looking for good food when visiting Niagara Falls.
The cozy atmosphere makes dining a pleasure. We had the "rice balls" and stuffed banana peppers. They were heavenly! The calamari was cooked to PERFECTION! I'd absolutely recommend stopping in this hidden gem!
I ordered the Penne Vodka and no exaggeration it was the BEST pasta I have ever had in my whole life. Absolutely delicious. This was the first time I wanted to meet the chef and thank him personally. Very small restaurant but it was worth the wait if you go. I’m from Connecticut and have never had pasta quite like this one. I will definitely be traveling back just to have it again! Amazing. Thank you so much for the experience and wonderful food
The staff was quick, efficient, and friendly. The dishes were amazing! We got lasagna and chicken Marsala. They were seasoned lightly to allow a beautiful flavor profile to explode in your mouth. It’s a very authentic Italian restaurant with authentic Italian food. It’s the best Italian food I’ve ever had.
If you are looking for very fresh Italian food, this is the place to go. Service was great, food cooked with beef tallow and not seed oils. As a health conscious guy this place gets my approval. Very good will be back.
Despite its size and limited hours, the food was truly impressive, delivering a dining experience that felt less like a restaurant and more like a warm, inviting meal at someone's home. The food is, quite simply, delicious. Every dish we tried showcased incredibly fresh ingredients, and it was evident that everything is made on the spot with care. I had dinner with my entire extended family, and everyone was absolutely delighted with their meal. We opted for a family-style approach, sharing a wonderful array of plates and appetizers. The pizzas were fantastic, the pastas perfectly cooked, and the chicken parm and meatballs with spaghetti were hearty and flavorful. For appetizers, the fried calamari was perfectly crispy and tender, and the arancini balls were a delightful start to our meal. And to top it off, we had their homemade cannolis: so far the best I have tried in years. If you're looking for authentic, fresh, and incredibly tasty Italian food in Niagara Falls, make sure to seek out La Cucina Di Mamma. You won't be disappointed!
Thank you Angelo and Greg for EVERYTHING!! We had a group of 20 staying within walking distance of this AMAZING place. We stopped by earlier in the evening to see the menu and inquire about accommodating our group. Angelo made it happen!! We had a family style spaghetti and meatball dinner with salad and Angelo’s delicious bread, followed by the best cannolis! Of course all of this was accompanied by bottles of wine. Not only was all of the food wonderful, Greg did a fantastic job taking care of all of us, and did it with a smile! Angelo and Greg, thank you again for making our food and evening so amazing!
Best Italian food I’ve had in a long while! Authentic and delicious as ever! Don’t skip out on this place!
Even though the service was a little slow due to there only being one waitress, it was absolutely worth the wait. The food was amazing — full of flavor and clearly made with care. We’ll definitely be back!
The happy little surprise that was Villella's is where I had my fantastic dining experience. It's within healthy walking distance of the falls. I walked in, middle of the afternoon, to an empty quaint dining room. The evite kitchen is visible from the dining room, and one man was running the entire place. I had a Labatt Blue with Chicken Parmesan. It was very very very good. This was July of 2016. Our chef/server at the time told us he was planning to buy the place and take it over. Today, this place is called La Cucina Di Mamma.
Super Little Italian place, everything was perfect. Plan to go early if you don't want to wait for a table.
Me and my family were in town for a few days and searched for a place in walking distance to our hotel. We landed on this spot. We only had to wait about 15 minutes, and met a lovely older couple who shared the best things about this place. We had the pizza, chicken parm, and the lasagna, each very good and well enjoyed. The service was very quick and everyone was quite nice. Enjoyed our meal very much, and thanks to the staff.
We stumbled on this place and busted right in on their little space with six hungry folks. They were gracious and gave us fast, friendly service. The food was delicious and the people were wonderful. Definitely recommend it!
What a wonderful experience! The food, service and music made for a memorable experience. The food is made fresh, and the waiter made us feel welcome. It’s small, but truly a mighty experience of good food and atmosphere. This is a must do if you are visiting Niagara!
Fantastic food, very authentic flavors. Small but well maintained. Everyone working together and providing great service. This is a real gem!
This is the best Italian food in Niagara Falls. Atmosphere was nice and clean. The Penne Vodka and Fettuccine Alfredo were amazing. The host was very kind and informative. Definitely highly recommend coming here if you’re ever in town!
What a great experience The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, like he said he could sell anything on the menu. From the complimentary bread to the excellent chicken parm, everything was delicious and tasted homemade . The soup transported my home Dint let the small venue fool you is a lot of flavor coming out of this place.
"Feed The Hungry Italian In You" The food was fresh, fresh, fresh and huge portions! Our server was Greg and he was gracious and provided service with a smile. We were on our honeymoon and we are so grateful we didn't have to fly to Italy for this amazing, authentic Italian food. Seriously, the food was phenomenal and if you walked out hungry that was your fault. Craving Italian food, this restaurant will definitely satisfy the appetite of all ages.
This is a small place with limited seating, but it is comfortable, clean, and well-kept. The host was extremely friendly and attentive, and it was clear that he wanted everyone to have a wonderful time. We were pleased that our meals started with bread and a salad of mixed greens. I enjoyed the spaghetti with meatballs, with fresh leaves of basil. The noodles were hot and the meatballs were fresh and tender. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
Really good Italian food. Very small restaurant but very cozy. We got rice balls to start with, lasagna, Chicken Parmesan and two side pastas with vodka sauce. Dinner came with the choice of soup or salad. Everything was really good!
We had a great dinner after a long day of visiting the Niagara Falls area. The food was delicious and the service was top notch! The lasagna is a must-try!
We did takeout. The pasta, sauce and meatballs were so good my skinny sister had seconds! The salad was fresh with delicious homemade Italian dressing. The arancini were phenomenal. We’re definitely going back! Compliments to the chef!!
My husband and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn next door and walked over to eat dinner after a long day of walking about 7 miles. The restaurant is pretty. The server was very friendly. We really enjoyed our food. My salad and the bread were some of the best I've had. Ignore the fact that it is located in an average hotel. The restaurant is far above average. We will definitely eat there again the next time we are at the Fairfield. Thank you!
This restaurant was a find. I’m confused by some of the negative reviews because I experienced none of the issues mentioned. It is a little like what we call a “pop up” restaurant in Texas - location not on the beaten track, bare bones atmosphere, and open for a limited time while the owners and chef test a concept. (I don’t think this is the case here, as it has been in operation for a few years.) Don’t get hung up on fancy, just go for perhaps the best Italian meal for the price you’ll ever find. The bread was fresh, hot and perfect. The lasagna was very light, with thinly sliced pasta triangles separating the layers of meat, sauce and cheese, much tastier than lasagna-in-a-pan with long, thick pasta that overwhelms the other ingredients. There is a limited wine and beer list, but you can get both, along with soft drinks and bottled water. The chef is visible in the kitchen (very close quarters with just a few tables), and he didn’t interact with the guests - but he is Chef after all! And the wonderful server more than made up for making you feel welcome. If I lived within 20 miles of here, I would come as often as I could.
Every now and again you come across a surprise and this very small little Italian restaurant has excellent real Italian food. It may look simple but the food is great and this comes from someone who lives in Europe !! Well worth the visit - you will be happy
After an exhausting day of travel we asked our hotel for a good restaurant within walking distance. Thankfully the concierge recommended this family-owned restaurant next door. We got lucky with a table for two as the local regulars began to roll in on a Friday night. We had spaghetti and lasagna and both were delicious. Free canolli for dessert. What a treat and well kept secret.
Highly recommend for delicious, and I mean ABSOLUTELY delicious ITALIAN FOOD! The Arancini was AMAZING starter and lasagna so filling !! The service was very accommodating, very friendly ! Atmosphere is so close to the Falls! Did a nice walk to Niagara Falls afterwards! I would definitely return !
Only complaint is the room was too small! Food is amazing, service is stellar. While the wait was long, the server did a great job entertaining and keeping things light. Calamari was light, crispy, and great. Lasagna was delicious! The canoli was a great cherry on top to finish the meal. Great choice if you want some fresh Italian food!
This food is so incredible. Fresh bread and salad with your meal. The restaurant is small but is well worth the wait if you don't get there early. And reasonable prices. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Delicious everything. Very happy with bread, salad, main course, and cannolis. And I'm not a cannolis person but those were perfect. Our server Greg was so nice and welcoming and is on top of everything. Angelo was our chef and as I said, it was delicious. Highly recommend for good food, great service, and just all around good experience.
I had rigatoni vodka and my friend had the lasagna. From the moment we got there it was a great experience. We were late getting there and were seated and treated nicely. Greg, our server, was so kind and polite. The chef came out and chatted after closing (we were welcome to stay as long as we needed to, despite the closing time). The food was authentic, simple and exactly what you want at an Italian restaurant. Strongly recommend. I will be back the next time I’m in town for sure!
An odd, sparse little restaurant (4 stars) with absolutely delicious food (10 stars!). The service was great and the pasta simply superb. The chef made me Penne Alfredo...the best I've ever had. Warm crusty bread, a lovely green salad. (A few candles on the tables, some wall decor and maybe a couple of hanging plants would be a great addition. But even if the decor never changes, I can't wait to go back!) If the food is more important than the setting (which is always our goal), you definitely need to visit this restaurant!
Delicious food! Generous portions and family friendly setting. Small inside with only 5 tables, which can fill quickly. Toasted french bread and salad come with all entrees. Penne vodka isn't advertised with shrimp on the menu, but I asked for it and was pleasantly surprised to find 5 jumbo shrimp in my dish!! Would definitely visit again.
Fantastic marghertia pizza and the people were nice. I'm sure the rest of the menu was fantastic. Very, very small though, perfect for a couples date but would not go with a family or something. Not clear on how to actually get in. Looked like we had to go in through the hotel but were told to go around through the outside. Outside doors were locked. Luckily our waitress noticed us and let us in before we left, but I can see others getting confused or unlucky if you're not careful
Very nice quaint place to eat Italian food. They rearranged there tables to seat our party of 7! Wine was great! Reisling was my choice if you like white wine. The Calamari melted in your mouth. Everyone was pleased with there meal of choice.
Tiny little place, delicious food, friendly service. We loved the aracini, the Fantasia, the homemade soup. Hubs loved the tomato sauce, I thought it was a little sweet. I only wished they had desserts not shipped in from Italy. I'd rather have local apple pie than shipped frozen anything else. However, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious, filling Italian dinner at a reasonable price.
If you have kids, it's a great place. Otherwise, it's noisy. But probably all the restaurants in the area are full of kids.
A decent Italian restaurant with a basic menu. The restaurant is small with 8 tables. They serve beer and wine. Our waitress was very nice and handled all the tables and is responsible for changing the record on the record player. Rarely see that anymore - a record player! At the end of our meal, she gave us 2 mini cannolis which were very good. They accept credit cards. A good place for a meal while visiting the falls.
We just wanted a pizza soon as we crossed the border, we stopped by this small restaurant. We were in a rush, the owner was really nice quickly made the pizza for us to go. It was really good and had a homemade touch to it and the sauce was really nice
It’s best not to judge by appearances. At first glance, the restaurant is very small, with only a few tables and very little distance between them and the kitchen (and not in the good, “open kitchen” way). The restaurant is located in a cheap, run-down hotel with a smell of cigarettes in the hallway. The décor is outdated and doesn’t match the style, and the pale neon lighting is unpleasant. B-u-t: the waiter who served us was friendly and pleasant, and he did his job professionally. The food was excellent! The advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but it may be worth considering moving the restaurant to a more pleasant location.
There was only 2 other couples in the restaurant when we arrived just after opening. The waiter was friendly and tentative. The food was spectacular! We got the house salad, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs. Bread was fresh and hot as well as the meals. The portions were generous. I would suggest another server to be on site in case they are needed. This Monday evening it was needed. Highly recommended 👌 Will return.
It's probably one of the smallest restaurants I've ever been in, but it gave one of the biggest flavors! Although, a little over priced for me, a broke college student, it was a tiny spot in a small hotel, didn't expect the prices. In terms of flavor, they delivered and delivered well. I was quite impressed. I overheard the cook saying they will soon add more to the menu as they recover from the pandemic. Best of luck guys! (Pictured is the eggplant parm.)
Interesting location in a building that is being remodeled. The restaurant is across from an enclosed pool. They have 7 tables and we saw three staff on call. Very laid back and server was dedicated to ensuring we were happy. Food was okay but nothing special. I had the Chicken Marsala and the chicken was a bit tough. My spouse had the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was nothing special and could have been off the shelf. The meatballs were not greasy and had a good flavor.
I had high hopes, it seemed like the perfect mom and pop place. Only 5 tables, open kitchen, one cook, one server. The server worked his butt off waiting, clearing, and changing records on the turn table. BUT the salads were overflowing with dressing (only one type available), the lasagna fell apart because there was no cheese between the layers (no ricotta at all that I could tell), and the chicken parm was soggy. The menu did not include many options with meat in general, just pastas with sauces. Overall, I was disappointed, especially for the price. I will not visit again.
ravioli and eggplant parm were really good, but the food is pretty overpriced for its portions. slow and rushed service since there’s only 2 guys running it
This is a small restaurant attached to a nice but inexpensive independent hotel. There was 1 waiter for all 8 or so tables. There was a food runner. My friends had penne vodka and spaghetti with meatballs. They thought theirs was good, especially the penne vodka. I ordered lasagna. No ricotta, no mozzarella. It was dry. I would not recommend. The wine options were minimal. Neither of my friends finished their red wine.
I had the chicken parm, and my girlfriend had the lasagna. Both tasted like dorm food - hardly any spices and the insides were COLD. I don't mean it cooled off. I mean ice cold while the outside was hot. Even the side salad was just lettuce and a cherry tomato. The eating area was a bit small, but there was only 2 of us. The best things about this experience was the music selection was on point and they refunded the cost of the lasagna.
It's hard to review this one because the people there were really nice, but the food was not. Not a big fan of the cheap plastic picnic cups either. Food wise… Tried a little bit of everything, the pizza was passable. I hope they can improve the food quality in the future. A little garlic would go a long way.
I ate here 2+ yrs ago and had above average dinner and service. It was a totally different experience this evening . We shared an arancini appetizer which was very good. My gf had a veal marsala entree’. The veal was not tender and was, in my experience, too thick. The marsala sauce was not adequately reduced and was overpowered with the wine and did not have enough butter and heavy cream. My entree, eggplant parmigiana was unrecognizable. It consisted of overcooked, mushy eggplant sitting on top of ziti with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella sitting on top of the very salty eggplant. It looked and tasted terrible. The waiter was very unprofessional.and not at all customer oriented. The place is very, very small. The kitchen/meal prep area are adjacent to the dining area and the pots and pans washing area is among all of this..very noisy. All in all, I was very disappointed. Every aspect of the place has gone downhill in the past 2 years. The food quality and prsentation are well below average. I won’t be back.
Mediocre food; bland, nothing special about it. I ordered the cheese ravioli and the Trader Joes frozen version is comparable for the price. The others in my party ordered the spaghetti & meatballs, and agreed that their dishes were bland too. It was not worth the long wait or the price.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my entire life , we got in here and the waitress said half an hour wait, that’s fine. We wait and wait and wait eventually we hit an hour and in the meantime three other people have come in to wait as well, a significant amount of time after we arrived. Those three people were sat almost as soon as they arrived while we still sat there and waited. The waitress is purposefully avoiding us at this point, not looking at us or coming near the door. Eventually we go in and ask how much longer, she says 15 more minutes. We want to leave at this point but we’re starving and everywhere else we want to go is closed. Two more people come in and she comes out and we assume finally it’s us, nope she sat them instead. I know for a fact this was intentional and she was purposely not seating us at this point. I am not sure what we did to her to deserve this treatment but it seemed like most of the people who she sat before us were regulars as she spent half the time she should have been working talking to people instead. As we walked out because we had enough she was smiling so I guess she got what she wanted. Avoid this place at all costs I have never been treated like this in my life by a restaurant.
Very small restaurant. Four of us went, we got there just as a table was emptying. We were told that the table would be bussed, and we could be seated promptly, we waited 15 minutes, and nobody had made any effort to busses the table. We ended up leaving.
Been going here for several years. With the new owners we just paid our last visit. Food was just OK, nothing like previous owners delights. Cheap Red wine served in 4oz mini glasses. 5 slices of French bread $4. Vodka chicken minus the chicken $17. Where am I? NYC. Worst, No manager on duty authorized to make adjustments or address concerns. Felt sorry for the staff catching all the flack. When the tourists leave this place won't be far behind, unless the step up their game.
I'm not sure if this company is just started off and they're starting small. But the least they could do is hire a wait team with class, or basic manners. Coming here was weird. If you don't approach from the street-side (No parking there) then you're going to walk through a dark Indo-asian hotel in order to get to the restaurant that's attached. There's no privacy in the dining space, it's just a small room with a bunch of tables and everyone staring at each other waiting for their food. You're so close to the other person, there is no way to have any conversation that the entire dining space doesn't become a part of. We came in right around 530 and they had no wait, one dirty table, one server for the entire restaurant, and no food on any of the tables with patrons. After stepping inside this space, we were abruptly asked to step back out to the hallway and wait for a table (the dirty one I'm guessing). We sat there for 10 minutes, and the server walked in circles for a few, brought one table their dinner, and never once gave us a glance. The dirty table stayed dirty, and we walked out. It was weird, we sat in the hallway watching people inside the glass room staring at each other. We were happy not to be a part of this.
Had a party of four and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Four people were taken before me and each time nothing was said to me. I asked how much longer it would be and was told it would only be 15 minutes or so. 15 minutes go by and after another person got taken we decided to leave. I saw the chef come out from the kitchen multiple times drinking wine with customers and eating with them. I also never knew we let customers go back into the kitchen. All in all very unprofessional. The waitress was completely rude.
Negative stars if possible. Smells like a chlorine pool because it is less than ten feet from a chlorine pool. Watched one of the workers berate a customer for not knowing it was CASH ONLY and make her walk to the casino a mile away for an ATM to pay her bill. I'm lucky I had cash, I'm unlucky I had to witness the appalling behavior of the staff. We left immediately and won't be returning. Food looked good, id recommend takeout if anything. We couldn't smell the food over the chlorine for what it's worth.
We sat down the waitress didn’t have a smile didn’t greet properly and came off defensive. I received my salad and bread that was fine. I ordered the chicken Parmesan with penne. The sauce was bland no seasoning needed sea salt, oregano, some basil onion and garlic it had none of these straight out of the can taste It tasted bland. My chicken was rubbery. The texture was awful. My wife ordered the chicken patina soup which was okay but she had to cut the chicken to mouth pieces. I wouldn’t recommend this place apparently they don’t care and thrive on tourists that don’t know any better. Stay stay stay away. Don’t waste your money.
This is a tough review as I have never really had such a bad, uncomfortable experience in a restaurant. I also don't want to write a novel here. We were on limited time and opted for takeout. The waitress was lovely and made an INNOCENT mistake. She inadvertently charged another customer's ticket for over $100 to my card. The owner came out of the kitchen, did not address me at ANY point in time, but did repeatedly berate his staff in front of everyone there. He had zero self control or awareness. This went on for at least 15 minutes until he finally just stomped away and stayed there. I advised she should just refund my card if they could not locate void on the POS system. His staff should quit. There are too many places looking for help. No one should tolerate that and by the way, it wasn't fun to witness either. Watched as he fried my arancini and then put them in the microwave. EW. My house salad was lovely but not enough to overcome the entire ordeal. Choose somewhere else. He needs anger management classes and a wake up call.
In a nut shell. We left before ever eating. The server was a punk with an attitude and clearly doesn’t know how to talk to people. plain and simple and the person in the kitchen appeared miserable and clueless IMO! Dirty tables and very small!
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The food was of poor quality, completely soaked in oil, and it was obvious it wasn’t freshly made but bought elsewhere. When we complained, instead of apologizing or offering to replace the dish, the waiter just said, “That’s Sicilian style.” This is not authentic cuisine but rather a way to mislead customers. Definitely not worth visiting
It’s an hole in the wall. And I like a hole in the wall. But….Unfortunately, I didn’t get an opportunity to enjoy the food. Another group of 15, yes you read that correctly, 15 people decided to come without a reservation. I appreciate the staff being accommodating. We had four and we walked in simultaneously. Somehow they managed to sit a solitary woman who came several minutes after all of us. We waited an hour. They rearranged the entire restaurant for the 15 people. There was a four top free and they did not sit us. They told us we wouldn’t get in until we got a table available. No one said hey would you like a glass of wine. Hey would you like a glass of water. This place came with strong recommendations. We sat there patiently until finally. They sat these 15 people And didn’t say anything to us. We are the fools for waiting. But I just couldn’t conceive that they surely were not going to address or attend to us in any way shape or form. I am a super reviewer. I’m a community guide. I almost never leave bad reviews. There’s no food that would be worth this.
A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING THERE! This place should have been closed. The worst food we have ever ordered (as we didn't eat it). I wonder how this place managed to get a rating !! The pasta was awful, the sauce was uncooked tined sauce, the carbobara was egg juice with pasta, disgusting, sent it rightbackto tge kitchen, the lasagna was partly uncooked. I wonder if the cook has ever eaten Italian food in his life and if he has ever taken cooking lessons. About the environment... the tomato splatter on the walls and windows was the first thing we faced. A small room with no decoration, white cold light, nothing to remind you of Italy smelling chlorine from the hotel pool. Honestly, the worst place we have been ever. The only positive was the waitress, she was polite.
