I had been to Kings BBQ many times but not at his other restaurant so when my brother flew in from Europe, we decided to give it a go. We sat at the Bar for lunch. Super cool 70’s Chinese Vibe (words of the Bar Tender and he was spot on). Good choice of Beers, Cocktails and great Wine list. Try the White Wine from Georgia 🇬🇪- exceptional. You cannot go wrong with the Japanese Chicken Karaage-Don, Fish Tartare and so many other good things on the menu. Add to that great service, mixologists at the bar - I will be back many times

Great vibe. Friendly service. Great drinks menu. Loved the food. All plates meant to share so it is a great way to try many plates, which we did! Everything was excellent but the favorites were the tuna tartare and the pork dumplings! Recommend reserving a table.

One of my favorite places to go when visiting Charleston! Menu changes every so often with new and more amazing dishes. You can’t go wrong- best to go with 4+ people so you can try lots of things. Family style. Great cocktails and fun vibe too.

Food is unique. Don't dress up, the staff doesn't. The service was good. The music was not so loud you couldn't talk to the person next to you but some of the genre didn't seem like "dinner music" (kind of angry).

Yea this place rocks. Awesome atmosphere. A restroom you can boogie in. A menu that is simple - but leaves you stammering for what to select. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone living or visiting Charleston.

You had me at Mellow Corn! My GF and I had dinner there last night and thought it was excellent. We had reservations and showed up a little early but were able to get seated as soon as we walked in. We got some drinks and 4 items to split. All of the food was great but the dumplings were some of the best dumplings I have ever had. I'm a big fan of Mellow Corn and when I saw it on the menu I got pretty excited as you don't see it on menus that often. I'm not usually one to get a frozen drink but man, this was amazing and I would go back just for it. Overall we had a great time and will be returning in the future.

Bigger than it appears from the outside. Chill modern atmosphere without feel boojie. Food is great. Great for a date night or dinner with friends.

We have eaten here so many times and have left reviews on Open Table but not here. It’s one of our absolute favorites in Charleston. To have a restaurant that makes amazing food and have amazing service is brilliant! Try everything! We have so many favorites.

Hands down some of the most flavorful, exciting, unique dishes I’ve had in Charleston. Super tasty frozen drinks, perfect little creative atmosphere, and Mercy was an absolutely amazing server !! Only bummer is it’s also the gnarliest wicked stomach ache I’ve gotten from food, and again when I ate the leftovers.

This is one of our favorite local spots. Both brunch and dinner are practically flawless. The quality and variety of flavors really boggles the mind. Each dish better than the last and all different from each other. Service never misses either. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. This time we tried them for dinner and it was equally excellent. We had a reservation on the patio, but thunderstorms rolled in. Jackrabbit reached out to us and offered us to offer an inside table for only 30 minutes later than our original reservation. Incredible! The food and service were of course fantastic as always.

Jackrabbit Filly delivered a fantastic dining experience! The Sichuan-hot karaage don was absolutely delicious — crispy, flavorful, and with just the right spicy kick. The pork & shrimp shumai were fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I personally found the soy garlic karaage don a bit too salty for my taste, so I’d probably skip that one next time — but everything else was excellent. Great service and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Amazing experience overall!! The restaurant was packed. We were immediately greeted by Pablo. He sets the standard for customer service. He was the host but went above and beyond. The food was great but he’s the reason I will be returning. We had a distillery tour scheduled so we didn’t have a lot of time to eat so we ordered two items from the appetizer menu. We got the scallion pancakes and the pork baos. Both were fantastic!! Food came out timely, bar service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very good. The food is really good and we will be back to enjoy additional dishes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jackrabbit Filly is a culinary gem in North Charleston! Their innovative Chinese-American fusion dishes, like the crispy Karaage fried chicken and flavorful pork and cabbage dumplings, are outstanding. The eclectic atmosphere and attentive service make for a memorable dining experience. A must-visit spot for food enthusiasts!

10 out of 10, as always. My boyfriend and I love this place. Tuna tartare is a must. Mercy was great.

Sooooo goooood and worth every award and bit of hype you’ve heard! This place is spectacular. We went for brunch and ordered 4 small plates to share among us three. It’s served family/tapas style and made for sharing. The flavors and layers of seasoning and creation are just perfect. Drinks were impeccable and strong. The prices are reasonable for the top quality served. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!!

Unbelievable spot for brunch. The dim sum was amazing, and reasonably priced! Get a bunch of stuff for the table and try not to fight over the favorites! The patio is very dog friendly and the staff is all great. It’s hard to take photos of the food as it doesn’t last long enough! I’m excited to come back to try the normal menu!

On our way home, we stopped at a super trendy restaurant that was definitely worth the short drive from Charleston. The standout dish was the spicy karaage chicken—everything was unique and bursting with flavor. The service was friendly and offered great recommendations for other dishes to try.

Totally worth the wait! Happy we were able to sit outside since we had two young kiddos lol. Man the cocktails to start off were banging! So refreshing and delicious. We got a bunch of things to share and even with my husband having celiac he was able to enjoy a couple dishes. The tuna bowl and salad! The hot chicken was so good, the spring rolls were nice and crispy, and pork dumplings were pretty good. The texture felt a little too Al dente for me but the filling and sauce was nice. We had a great time here and they do the food so well here.

Went for lunch on Saturday, super pleased with the service and exceptional food. They made me a Margarita (or two) that was out of this world! We ordered the fish tartar appetizer which featured yellowfin tuna and was out of this world. The best flavor in a tartar I’ve ever eaten and could have made that my entire meal. We also had the potato and leek dumplings (basically pierogis) which were also good. For our main dish I had the Karaage Rice bowl with a hard fried egg. Could have used a little more sauce but still absolutely delicious. We also got the pork smash burger which was great, the fries are so crave-able. Would definitely go back, would love to try different menus (like brunch and dinner) **2025 update** New location in Park Circle. All the apps are on point and the fried chicken is still one of the best things out there. So happy this place is here to stay!

Excited to try the new location on East Montague. We arrived without a reservation and were promptly seated. It was busy, noisy! We ordered the Shrimp Poke and Veggie Bowl which were absolutely delicious and I'd happily order the exact same thing tomorrow, and perhaps the next day.

This is a foodie gem! The food is so flavorful & unique. Our server rattled of the specials & highlights at breakneck speed. I asked him to do it a lot slower. I'm glad I did because this place is so unique, I had a lot of questions after looking at the menu. We had a lot of great food during our visit, and JF easily stood out as the most original. Our 12 year old grand daughter enjoyed her "deconstructed sushi" bowl, but if you have picky eater kids, this may not be up their alley.

Absolutely fabulous! Thank you Ryan and Edson for the excellent customer service. My friend and I met for lunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere welcoming. Cannot wait to come back with my hubby and enjoy supper! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My fiancé and I love going on lunch and dinner dates. We always talk about our experience and even jot down a few notes about each dish we have everywhere we go. We had a lot of great things to say about our orders. I first visited Jackrabbit Filly a few years ago when I moved to Charleston and I never forgot how incredible the food was. I thought they had closed down, but I recently found out they just relocated. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS and Bridget made our visit even better. She is very friendly and provides amazing customer service. They change their menu seasonally and this is definitely going to be our new regular spot!

This will be on the list of regular restaurants to go to while visiting from out of state. I hope the cornbread is a permanent addition to the menu because I'll need to have it again when I come back! It was the best cornbread my family and I ever had in our lives!! Potato leek peirogis were great, as well as the karaage chicken. The mapo noodles were a bit too spicy for the entire family, our noses were running and foreheads sweating, even for those who love spice. I would pass on them next time because I could only tolerate 2 bites without taking shots of water. Pork dumplings flavor was ok, dry inside and lack luster. I would skip those (I have had better elsewhere) and just order more of the potato leek ones, which were 10x better. The roasted peanuts on top were delicious. Overall, everything was great, but the tempura mushroom was not. It was the 1 thing we would never order again as the mushrooms became a mass blob of fried mushrooms stuck together. Also, it had little mushroom flavor and mainly breading. Just too much breading and grease. Appreciated the waitress helping point out vegetarian options and the ability to change a few items to vegetarian. Keep in mind on a weekend they wont let you add onto your order, so you need to know what you want completely. We wanted more cornbread but were denied. Gave lower atmosphere stars because it's loud inside.

We loved the vibe of this place! The decor was well thought out and had a good atmosphere. We came specifically to try chef Shuai’s work, and we were not disappointed! (We actually spotted him in the kitchen too!). Everything was a hit! The bread was crispy and buttery and went well with the cheesy corn. The dumplings were a favorite as the dough was a perfect texture, and everything had an all around good flavor profile. The chicken was a solid dish and the sauce made it really tasty. The pineapple fried rice was good (not quite the best we’ve ever had), but the combination of the smokiness, sweet charred pineapple, and sausage was so unique and memorable! We would love to go back sometime.

Such a cute place. We came for lunch and got the pork dumplings and crab cheese ball to start. The crackers the cheese ball came with were good enough to eat even on their own. Then for our main dish we got the kaarage chicken which was good. The soup we got with our meal was great. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Edited to add- visited again, everything fantastic again! Forgot to mention the nods to Buffalo! Go Bills!! (and amazing bathroom vibe!) Wow everything was fantastic- lots of unexpected and amazing flavors. We all loved everything; krab rangoon cheese ball was great- absolute faves were the pierogis. The bao with radish cake were some magic, and the chocolate cake was so memorable. Highly recommend and recommend reservations if you go at a busy time. We will definitely be back.

This was easily one of the better meals and dining experiences we’ve had in recent memory- and we sure do like to eat. Atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming with both classic and eclectic design. The dim lighting provided us with the perfect date night, but all around us were large groups of friends enjoying the company and the food. We got a handful of cocktails to share- all were excellently crafted, smooth, and lacked pretension. Service from Brighid (Maya Hawke’s doppelgänger) was great; she was really fun and easy to banter with. Just about every employee in the building stopped by during our time in and it’s always great to see effortless and well seamed teamwork afoot. Now to the food- it’s a don’t miss in Charleston. Every plate was conceived with heart and expertise and our only complaint is that we didn’t have more people with us because we wanted every single item on the menu. The Shepherds Pie was traditionally built with kisses of Japanese flavor. The cheese corn bread was almost a dairy drenched Dutch baby with the density of a cinder block (could be a meal on its own). Karaage was the crispiest and most tender chicken I may have ever had- we went with traditional but I’m sure the spicy take is just as perfect. Lastly, the Pierogi…boy oh boy they did not disappoint. As two big boned polish dudes, pierogi is something special to us and these not only didn’t disappoint, they were the highlight of the meal. I also have to say that anywhere else across the country for the quality of the scratch food, atmosphere, and generous portion sizes, you’re going to pay 2-3 times what they’re charging here. Put this place on the top of your list on your next Charleston visit, you won’t regret it.

This is the best restaurant in park circle. Insanely great lunch options. OG chirashi w/egg. Add an egg roll + soup combo for $4?!?! Amazing. See you soon JF 🧡🧡🧡

I can't wait to come back here. I loved the family-style dining and the drinks were superb. Just be aware that you really need to order everything up front. I was advised that you can't really order anything after your first order, so if there's something that catches your eye, jump in with both feet.

We stopped in for a late lunch & a few cocktails on a no work Friday and Jackrabbit Filly did not disappoint! Best scallion pancake we've ever had! The soup special, spicy, bean & Chinese sausage goodness hit the spot 🌶🥢🥰

We sampled a handful of items between the 2 of us and it was all delicious. The server, Brighid, was fun and helpful and even tolerated how drunk I managed to get within a relatively short time (sorry, Brighid!). The Japanese curry Shepherd's Pie was a real standout along with the pierogi small plate. Can't wait to eat here again the next time I'm in town!

We had lunch here on a Saturday. Had heard some buzz on social media and decided to try it while we were in town. So glad we did! We had the Krab Rangoon cheeseball appetizer and the spicy Karagge chicken and Tuna chiarashi entrees. All were quite delicious and filling. The decor in the restaurant was memorable, as were the bathrooms (haha). Highly recommended, we will be back next time we are in town!

I really enjoyed my lunch here! I sat at the bar and ordered a variety of Dim Sum dumpling offerings, plus some soup and perogies. All were super delicious!

Loved everything about this place! Went for lunch and did not disappoint. We had the Shumai and the OG rice bowl - absolutely delicious. Best egg roll I’ve had in a while! It’s the kind of place that you trust everything on the menu is divine. The cocktails looked great too though we didn’t imbibe. Will definitely be back. Worth the trip up there!

TRUE EXCELLENCE!!!!!! ALL AROUND. Food and drinks are incredible, atmosphere is wonderful, service is great- I could go on and on. I personally recommend to get the tuna tartare. I love the seasonal sake bombs too. Shoutout to the amazing chef Shuai!!!!

I can’t stop thinking about our meal here. We had almost everything on the menu, all stand out. Our waitress was a delight, so helpful with the menu and genuinely excited for us to be there and to be visiting Charleston. Two favorites were the tuna tartare and fried rice. Tartare was the most delicious and unique I have ever had (served with Texas toast!), and the fried rice had so many flavors and textures. Also the ambiance is really cool, like grandpa’s hunting lodge meets Asian restaurant. So fun.

We were visiting from out of town but kept seeing Jackrabbit Filly as a recommendation and decided to check it out. Highly recommend reservations (we were able to get day of for 5:45). They have a 1.5 hour limit. We went for dinner and got there early to see if we could be seated early (we were already in the area). They said they would have to see and had us wait (which since we were early- I understood- but the dining areas were empty). Waiter was kind. Recommended sharing 3-4 plates for 2 people. We got: Food -Garlicky Cucumbers -Karage -Pork Dumpling -Pineapple fried rice -and had some leftovers from the pineapple fried rice. Our favorites were the cucumbers and karage. Other contenders were the potato and leek dumplings, gnocchi, and veggies Drinks -It's a Party (espresso martini) very smooth and good -As If (nonalcholic) you're typical digestive bitters drink I enjoyed the small plates style experience. Came out to a little over $50/per person

Jackrabbit Filly is a trendy spot just off of Park Circle with an interesting and unique menu and a very cool and comfortable interior. We sat at the bar and ordered a few cocktails to start our meals — very funky. Neither one of our drinks was that great - neither discernibly boozy or tasty, just sort of weird combinations that contradicted their menu listings. I ordered a holiday bourbon drink that sounded creamy and warming, but instead felt like a washed out tropical drink with a pineapple leaf garnish? Bizarre. Anyway, the food was better. All interesting - fried kimchi was greasy but delicious. Needs to be broken up more by the kitchen so you’re not trying to pick up enormous hunks with chopsticks that don’t get breaded that well. Same for the karaage. Delicious but unwieldy. Could be a little friendlier to the diner. Pierogis were fine, and we really liked the complimentary pickled cabbage — could’ve done with a lot more to balance some of the other heavy flavors we had. Of course we got the crab fried rice, but not sure it’s worth a whopping $19. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the place for dinner, but instead for a quick one or two dish bite mid-afternoon. Servings are large and prices are high, so go smaller than you’d think. And…just get a beer to drink.

Great shareable plates for small and large groups that are a new american-asian fusion. Really good cocktails! Some of their dishes are pretty salty and saucy though. I think our favorite dish was actually the salad and our cocktails - the fried chicken was pretty good but the other vegetable dishes we ordered were really heavy and coated in too much sauce so we couldn't really taste the veggies at all 🪨 🍜

M
Monique Castro

Food was amazing. Dumplings were a tad spicy but great flavor. Karrage Don was my favorite dish we tried. Crispy fried chicken & nice portion size. Peanut noodles served cold, these are a bit odd & I did not care for them but just my preference. Our service started out great & then almost had no service. Had to ask another staff member twice to call our waiter over as he was no where to be found. I seen where the staff member walked to & he was at a table chatting with other coworkers. This review would have been a 5 star if the service was great.

w
whitney fralix

Food was good and in shareable portions for 3 people. Service was great and the drinks were yummy. I do have to say that $50 for their portion of ribs was outrageous. They were ok but nothing to shout to the world about. Wonton soup was pretty strong and didn’t come with very much broth. Other than that everything was pretty good. Might possibly stop by at another time to try lunch.

S
Steve O'shields

With an extremely limited menu you would expect that what they do serve would be spectacular, especially considering how good the owners other restaurant is and how well he did on Top Chef but unfortunately this location lacks much to be desired in the food category. The service is stellar, everyone is friendly and professional but it doesn’t make up for the food. We really wanted to like it here but unfortunately it was not to be.

B
Brownbiggy

The food here is decent, though nothing extraordinary, but the ambiance and presentation are fantastic. We tried the corn fritters, which were just alright, and a chicken special that sounded Chinese but had more of an American taste. We also ordered the Singapore fried rice, which looked authentic but tasted rather ordinary—more like it was from Baltimore than Singapore! The pumpkin dessert was also just okay. However, the service was quick and attentive, which definitely added to the experience. Overall, it’s worth a visit for the atmosphere and service, though the food could be a bit more flavorful.

L
Len Weddel

The food isn't that great unfortunately. The steamed pork dumplings are the worst we ever had. The tea doesn't taste right. The water at the table was warm. Our server was very nice but we will not be returning. I would recommend Mr. Pan as a better option.

G
Gourmand

If I am being 100% honest, this restaurant was a massive letdown from the hype it received. I came in with pretty high expectations and left quite disappointed. We ordered several meals, and almost every item was bad. We first started with their spicy Korean pierogis. The pierogies themselves tasted frozen and a little tough, and covering it in gochujang just felt off. The dish does actually meld together well, and I think it would be a pretty big improvement if the pierogies themselves were filled with something else to giveit more of a Korean flare. Maybe some radish or bean sprouts or a mild kimchi. We then got the chirashi bowl. The ball itself was kind of a mess and once again, did not seem to go together that well. Flavor wise was OK, but proportions were also off. The veggie egg roll is decent but very small. Pretty crispy and comes with a sweet-and-sour sauce. The filling is pretty empty. I would suggest that it is actually filled normally and potentially 50% bigger for the price being charged. The carrot coconut soup was just bad. Coconut flavor is almost indistinguishable. If they had added something a little acidic and spicy to the soup, that would’ve also elevated it. Suggestions would be a little bit of fish sauce and some chili flakes. Last, we got the chicken kaarage don. This was probably the least enjoyable of the dishes. The breading on the chicken was very soft instead of crunchy, the meet itself was pretty tough and chewy, and the flavor left a lot to be desired. It was also disproportionally overshadowed by a lot of rice. The rice as well was a little stale and hard. On a different note, parking is pretty difficult. All of the free street parking is full for several blocks around meal times. I had to find parking on a side street a few blocks away in an adjacent neighborhood. As much as I was looking forward to enjoying this restaurant, I can’t give this a higher rating. Again, staff were friendly and the design of the restaurant is really nice. But unfortunately, food is most important and was the biggest letdown.

L
Lauren

Unfortunately, the food is not very good. But it is cute and has nice vibes. We got the tempura oyster mushroom. It started out ok (but not super flavorful and very oily). As we kept eating it was clear that the mushroom was not fully cooked and that there was raw batter all throughout the inside of the mushroom. Then we got the pork dumplings and cabbage- both ok but not spectacular. Then came the mapo noodles which were an unfortunate mix between an Asian noodle dish and spaghetti. There is no other way to say it, they just were not good. The Moscow mule was watered down and flat - seemed like it was made with days old ginger beer?. The server recommends that you order all the dishes at the same time and says they will come out when they’re ready. It was a mistake to listen to that. If we ordered one or two to start, we would have known we wouldn’t be able to finish the meal. In general, this was a letdown, and made much worse by the too high price point and the hype. Wanted to love it, but unfortunately won’t be back and can’t recommend.

C
Clair Ellis

I think I would have enjoyed the atmosphere more if the service was half decent. Unfortunately, that was almost as bad as the food. Shumai dumplings were hard, dry and flavorless. Cauliflower soup was bland and watery, not sure what the aim was with this one. I only took two sips, hoping the second taste would be better? Unfortunately, it was not. I had barely touched it. Of course the lame service didn’t care, they didn’t check on us to see why we didn’t even make a dent in it, they just took it away and dumped my money down the drain. So, if you like overpriced bootleg Asian food and subpar service I would recommend this place. Otherwise, save your Benjamins for some other place a little less devoid of character.
