Beck's Tavern is a fun, German-inspired restaurant with a great atmosphere, especially in the yurts. Customers rave about the German food, particularly the pierogi, kielbasa, and schnitzel. Service can be slow at times, and some find the drinks overpriced.

This place was wonderful! The food and beers were great and the awesome service topped it off. I left my wallet there accidentally and the host came running out to make sure he found us. Everything was there, and just goes to show how nice they are. We will be back for sure!
What a great spot at the entrance to Gore. Go there for a drink or stay longer and have a meal. The German styled menu is amazing.
What a nice surprise! Heard from a friend who saw it on Facebook. We skied, and drove by. Went in, very nice, lots of great selections. Very cool. They have a Yurt that is a beer hall that is heated by wood. Open a few days a week. The restaurant is open all the time.
My toddler really enjoyed everything! She is a bit of a foodie kid. We had hummus, schnitzel, a pizza, and potato pancakes.
First time visiting Gore and heard from a neighbor about Beck's Tavern. Had everything from wings to schnitzel to lava cake. Happy family with full bellies! Matt was a great server. Loved all the repurposed wood everywhere. Will be back here for sure anytime we come to Gore!
This was a great place. Small and cozy, and friendly staff. Good food too. If you are planning a trip to Gore Mountian, this is a great place to grab dinner and drink after a long day of skiing.
Great spot to hit Apre Ski. Comfort food in a timely fashion and Yurt City for beers adn music! A must stop.
Great German food, comfortable setting, and fun and funky design elements. This tavern feels like a place where everybody knows your name. A very local haunt with an inviting atmosphere. Try the pierogies and kielbasa, and don’t forget to request the joppiesaus! They also have their own house-made ketchup, which is a bit on the sweet side but fun to try.
Welcoming atmosphere, good drinks, good food, great vibes. Two different bar areas, one with live music so you can pick your scene. We’re lucky to have a place like this out here!
I had such a great stay at the Lodge at Gore Mountain two weekends ago, made even more awesome by the opening of becks TAVERN right next door...The restaurant has a well-stocked bar filled with local craft and international beers as well as a well-chosen wine list. Becks is a great place to kick back after a long day of hiking or white water rafting - and I'm sure an even better place to apres-ski in the winter (soon you'll be able to ski to it from Gore I'm told.) The Austrian-inspired food menu includes sausages and spatzle, schnitzel, soft pretzels, steaks and burgers. The fries were delicious as well. And there is even delicious fare for vegans such as myself! The veggie burger, salads and vegetables were excellent. Beautiful from the outside and charming on the inside, becks is the best thing that has happened to North Creek in a long time. You can dine in the larger dining room or sit at the bar as the late afternoon sun pours through the beautiful large glass windows...Well done!! - And I can't wait to come back later this summer!
Fantastic food and the manager was very friendly and accommodating. She even got the fireplace going because we were a bit cold. The food is always delicious and very authentic tasting. Would recommend this place if anyone asked for suggestions in the area.
Great dinner, service, outdoor area (for drinks), and good beer selection.
We had a great time at our first try here last year, however, our experience on 7/19/2020 was out the outset, less than stellar, but salvaged by our excellent waitress and the manager who was on duty. Our two sons were dreaming about eating here all winter. We started out with sodas that we're mixed properly, but was eventually corrected. The three chicken schnitzel dinners we received were way under-cooked and the hollandaise sauce we ordered with our asparagus was largely chunks of scrambled egg that tasted like hollandaise sauce. My pork schnitzel was cooked perfectly. We returned the three chicken meals and my kids received their back, with even worse hollandaise sauce, just flecks of egg, really. They forgot my wife's chicken. Eventually my wife's chicken arrived and they made fresh hollandaise sauce for all of them. After all of the corrections were made, the meals were perfect, as we had enjoyed them last year. Initially the server offered 25% off the meal and repeatedly apologized, however the manager came over and without prompting simply just offered us the meal at no cost. The server appeared surprised that we intended to stay and have desert, which was also great. We chalked our experience to simply one isolated experience that was made right by the staff, in real time. We all appreciated that. The served received her gratuity based on what the entire meal would have cost, the manager received our thanks and appreciation for what she and the server did to make the meal right and the restaurant has repeat customers and we'll come back there again, next year.
The chef plated the food as it was fine dining. The food was as good as it looked. The staff was friendly. And meet all are needs. If you get a chance to stop by this small tavern. You will not be disappointed. Every one took Covid-19 precautions. The place was very clean.. can’t wait to go back.
Fantastic food and setting. We stopped by on our way back from the high peaks and we were treated to a fantastic meal. Really neat setting a location, staff were super friendly and helpful. Will be back!
Beck's was great. I like the skiing/snowboarding motif. The staff was very friendly, the food was great, and the drink selection was abundant (lots of craft beers). Prices were a little high, but that's what you'd expect from a tavern at the base of a ski resort. I didn't spend much time outside, but there was a really nice congragation area with a small stage and a live band. It strikes me as a cool place to chill and have a few pints. I'll definitely be going back, and hopefully I'll have more time to hang outside.
GREAT Apres Ski location. The yurts provided a warm but safe open space to enjoy a drink and snack after skiing. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Overall fun vibe! The restaurant portion had some of the best German food my husband and I have had since we were in Germany. We loved it so much Friday we went back Saturday!
Beck's is a wonderful find. It is beautifully decorated, clean, has flavorful food & drinks, and great ambiance. The pierogies & kielbasa were really well-made & delicious. My red wine was nice & dry, reasonably priced and quite ample. Our waitress, Jordan, was super-helpful, knowledgeable & friendly. We will return!!
Very nice place , friendly staff and good food. They got German and Polish food as well. I can recommend Polish perogi if you want to try something different, fried kielbasa is also good. Definitely try house made pretzel, just from the oven. This place has a bar with huge selection of drinks. I like their draft beer. Parking is never problem.
Super cute and unique bar/restaurant. I didn't try any of the food but they have games and live music. The perfect place to hang out
Becks is the best place in the Gore/ North Creek area. The owners, the Parobeck family, are really nice people. Everything on the menu is delicious and the decor is unique and authentic. Beyond the restaurant, they have a series of Yurts filled with games, art, a bar and live music. Fire pits outside are a fun place to gather. There's always something fun going on here. Highly recommend dining and playing here.
Excellent, authentic German food in a fun, contemporary setting. The chicken and pork schnitzel were excellent -- crispy on the outside, flavorful and moist on the inside. We also tried the outstanding home-made sausage and sauerkraut. And the best spatzle we've had in a very long time. The decor is modern, eclectic ski lodge. Very friendly staff. Well worth the trip!
OMG...how have I never been to this place...it is awesome. Check out the yurts
Truly fresh great American favorites. And so close to gore. We had a tasty burger meal and bbq wings. The poutine was also the best version I've had in recent memory. My favorite choice for American diner food in the area. Would still be my top choice in a metro area but what an amazing option nestled conveniently in the shadow of gore in the Adirondacks.
Becks was recommended by one of the rafting guides. The food was great and the bar was awesome. The second bar was three yurts and lots of outdoor space. A little something for everyone. Dogs!!! Folks brought thier dogs and everyone just chilled and enjoyed the live music.
Vibe is chill and definitely for the whole family as well!
Great find in North Creek. After a 3+ hour drive the night before a ski trip to Gore, we stopped here for dinner. Great selection of German food and beer, plenty of unique options. We loved the atmosphere and the food! Plus, they had the Olympics on.
Food is delicious! Prime rib is excellent as well as the pierogies. We had a group of 6 and we all tried different items which we all enjoyed. Walk next door to the yurt to enjoy a live band with a bar or sit outside around the fire. Definitely a must visit when in North Creek. The only downfall is I wish you could make reservations for a group smaller than 12.
Great place! Has live music inside. Love the yurts and decor inside of each. Have eaten here in the past but not on this last visit. Great place for drinks, especially after skiing. Definitely check out if heading to Gore Mountain or in the North Creek area.
Great place to get a drink and a bite to eat if you're in North Creek.
I love the vibe of this place. I find German food to be a little bland, but this was truly great. Curry wurst is very tasty. Weiner Schnitzel is also good. I was expecting a bit more variety of European beers on tap.
Extremely enjoyable restaurant! Food is delicious and heavy so make sure you eat late! But you’ll go to bed SATISFIED. Environment is calm yet exciting. One of a few places we ensure we visit each time we come up! Bring the family or some friends! Much better with a group!
Nicely decorated. Big open windows for natural light to come in. Friendly and helpful staff. Great local beer on tap. Great food, tried multiple items -never disappointed over the years. Live music on weekends.
We stumbled upon Beck’s Tavern after being at Gore! Don’t drive by without stopping! This place is unique in the best way. We were especially excited to find live music outside; it was perfection! Marc Vincent Sica can play a mean banjo and can croon; especially as he went back to the old faithful Tony Bennet / Frank Sinatra. We will be back in December! Thank you Beck’s for the music, the uniqueness of the tavern, the beer, the food , the outside chairs, the wonderful stage, the warm weather and the changing leaves. Coming here turned a great day of autumn leaf peeping day into the best ever! Thank you!
We've eaten dinner at Becks Tavern several times. Just the kind of food I like to eat after a long day skiing! Fun atmosphere.
Been going since I got my pass for Gore. I like their german food. Schnitzel is pretty good (I lived in Dresden for 2 years)
They refilled me and my brothers chocolate milk for free once. Not sure if they do it all the time for everyone, but it was sick. Food was good too
Absolute gem in the Gore area. They have a fun bar inside a yurt connected to other yurts with games. Kids loved it and was a great place to chill while waiting for our table to be ready. The food was beyond solid - may have not had the highest expectations but they blew through them. I had their chicken schnitzel and could have drunk the mushroom sauce straight from the cup. Only negative on the food front was their version of pizza - it had thick not super melted cheese and looked and tasted like a poor at home attempt to make pizza. Overall one of the better dining experiences we had up by Gore and a fun way to spend an evening
We enjoyed our dinner and drinks. I was excited to try the German fare. The snitzel was very good. I do think the beverages were overpriced. This may be due to the ski-town mentality, not sure. $12 for a glass of house chardonnay is pricey. Oh well. We also visited the Yurt Bar after dinner. I would come again for this experience. The band, Warden & Company, was excellent. Cozy atmosphere with excitement music. This, we enjoyed. Overall, very good and I would come again.
We have a cabin in North River and frequent Beck's Tavern often. As a vegan, I super appreciate their attention to dietary needs (they have a special menu to share so you know what's in your food). I love their house made veggie burger - seriously one of the best around! So many places only offer a beyond burger, so I truly appreciate the effort they put in. They have a pretty extensive menu. My hubby loves the pierogies, the kraut and the potato pancakes, and my kiddo loves the chicken tenders and fries. There have salads, schnitzel, sausages, so many options for all dietary needs. They have a great beer selection and the outside area is awesome - they often have acoustic sets on the weekends. The yurts are also really fun to just go and grab a drink. I highly recommend stopping by Beck's Tavern when in town - both in winter and summer!
Yummy German food after a day of paddling! We had kielbasa, pierogi, pretzels and poutine. But my fave was the red cabbage! They had live music in the yurts out back. If you are in north creek -worth stopping by!
So the next time you're in North Creek, New York, and you watch the sidewalks be rolled up at 7:00 p.m., take yourself a little trip 2 minutes away to beck's TAVERN. Absolutely great German food and superior service. We were looking for food on main Street in North Creek, and Trappers was closed for a private event, and Hey Days couldn't take our order after 7:00 p.m. even though they are open till 8:00 p.m. because they were so overwhelmed. And thank God for both. We never would have ventured any farther if it weren't for those two situations. And we are so glad we did! Thank you, becks for a really nice evening with some really nice people.
So impressed with parking space and Tesla charging station. Thank you. 💙 Pretty good Food and drink menu👍 but always room for improvement 😎. Could be better or close to perfect 🤩 I ordered Knock Wurst and they said we are out! Had to order Venison Sausage, wasn’t bad, but I loved Ruben sandwich 🥪🤪. I really like the drink menu and availabilities at the bar seat, all hard and soft drinks available 🍹 🍺 , especially after day trip hike, all you need seat at the bar and order a drink and enjoy 😉. Also, we ordered House made apple pie 🥧 with ice cream & whip cream, it was pretty good and delicious 😋 Entire structure is perfect 👍 separation of entrance and exit is one of the best ideas 💡 we need during COVID Shiitt show. 😬😬 🥳🥳 we will stop by for another hike and try something else from your menu. Thanks 🙏🏻
Beck’s Tavern IS THE PLACE to come to stay for a magical place. The food is magical (( poutine)), the environment magical, activities in the huts mind expanding. Beck’s Tavern is an all year round place to come and stay. I honestly can not say how wonderful this place is. Check out the photos AND MAKE sure you come and stay at Beck’s Tavern. He will take great care of you. Instagram @mrgoodliffee
Excellent food, great customer service and the property is gorgeous at the base of the mountain. Check out the yert, it's relatively new and such a cool place to hang out and drink in. Both have a great selection of beer and the conversation with staff and patrons alike are worth the visit!
The food was consistent, went to dinner 2 nights, the burger my wife ordered was supposed to be 8 oz, did not look it at all, a little small, I liked the German dish I ordered both times but they were out of the sausage I wanted both nights, staff a little shy? First night saw the waitress use her hand to fill my wife's glass with ice, 2nd night different waitress used the scoop. They really should advertise German food I think it would draw more people In
I want to give this 5 stars but it's primarily getting the 4 stars from the yurt and big Mike's service not the food service inside. First time here and we ordered drinks in the yurt and called in a food order to grab and bring to the yurt. 20 minutes for periogies and pretzels with beer cheese, went inside to get them and the pretzels were basic frozen 2 pretzel sticks with nothing on them, salt or anything and they forgot the beer cheese. Went back inside waited another 10-15 minutes to get beer cheese only to return to the yurt with cold other food items due to waiting to get the cheese. Big Mike was awesome and tried to make things right and would definetly go back for drinks in the yurt!
Good German food. Great for coming off the mountain after skiing. I only wish they had a larger beer selection. I also found it odd they didn’t offer the happy hour deals at the table, they said it was for the bar only (which we were seated right next to at a table)
Food was good, nice atmosphere..I was disappointed about having to cut off half of my asparagus because the ends were not properly taken off..it really took away from the enjoyment of my dinner and our waitress brought our food, which was quickly, but never came back to check on us again the rest of the meal. We had to flag down another waitress for refills on drinks and when we asked for our check, again no one came back to pick it up for 10 minutes, so we got up and went to pay on our way out.
Relaxing environment with the best shrimp scampi I've ever had! I would've rated it at 5 stars but the set up was confusing and ordering take out when your dining in was different. If you want great food you will look past this everyone was pleased with thier meals
Big (medium sized) Mike is an amiable bar tender manning the bar in this most unusual saloon. Let go of any square thoughts, and leave behind all your useless worrying, and enter a beautiful structure that has no corners in which a gremlin could hide. Upon entering, one is immediately aware of a calm atmosphere, nice people and occasionally a friendly dog or three. I'll stop here and let you soak in the experience through your own senses. Very cool, but nice and warm ! I recommend it !
Pierogies were on point! Poutine was good, needed more gravy. The wings were a little wet even though we asked for crispy. Icecream was yummy, the apple strudel was ok. Yurt music was great. Fyi A lot of patrons with dogs in the yurts.
Had an excellent lunch here while away for the weekend. The food was excellent! The meat & cheese plate was fantastic, the schnitzel was fresh and hot and crispy, and don’t leave without having the kielbasa and pierogis!! If I could change anything, it would just be that they turn the heat up because it was very cold while we waited for our food. Other than that it was a perfect lunch.
Fun apres-ski - closest in Gore to what you will find in Europe. All the activities in the yurts is a great idea - love music, games, drinks. Food at Becks was poor though, after a long wait.
Stopped for food and was pretty good. The portions are big but pricey. Small menu. It’s a german based menu which was weird because the atmosphere is more Adirondack and ski vibes so I don’t understand the german reference. The service was not too good. Both of our servers were awkward and didn’t know how to take our order or answer easy questions about beer/food. However the food came out fast. After the food we explored outside and it is such a cute neat little place. There are a couple yurts with a cozy atmosphere inside. There’s a bar, tables, TV, games, darts and more to hang out. The outside area is also so cool with live music and tons of chairs. Overall, probably wouldn’t go back for food but if you’re looking for a neat place to hang out with friends/family this is it!
We stopped here for a quick drink at the bar and some apps. The mixed drink I got was phenomenal. My fiancé was super happy they offer Becks beer because it’s not available in a lot of bars. The apps we got were pretty standard for German food but it hit the spot. I would come back again.
I really wanted to love this place but couldn't. The staff are really nice but the food is only ok (the soft pretzels were more like bread sticks, the Sauerbraten was good and we liked the pierogis). Our waitress didn't know what beers were on tap and gave me the wrong beer (pilsner instead of a dunkel), which I drank anyway. She was very friendly after all! I think they can be great if they sharpen up a bit. I want to love them. The ambience is huge and bright with a fire pit (and s'mores!) outside.
Went with my husband last night. Waitress was very nice. Most of the food was cold. We both ordered the soup of the day, which was lukewarm. My husband liked the flavour but I didn't. I gave mine to him. The pretzel with beer cheese sauce was good. My husband did like the beer, I can't remember which one he got. Than dinner comes out. We both took 2 bites and couldn't eat anymore. I got kielbasa and pierogi, my husband got steak and fries. How hard is it, to get out hot food. It's not like they were busy. They give us 15% off, only reason I'm giving a 3 star. Sad to say, we probably won't be going back. I was hoping to find a good local place to eat.
Nothing special. The food is not great and overpriced. 10 minutes after we were seated I had to ASK FOR MENUS. We didn't see the waitress for another 10-15 minutes after that. I understand you guys are slammed but, as someone who has worked in the food service industry, it is unacceptable to leave customers waiting for menus and then even longer to speak to a waitress/waiter. Hire more staff or don't seat more people!! Staff is kind but not attentive. Reason for 3 stars is the nice atmosphere and bar, but that's really it.
So I have mixed reviews. The main tavern I was greeted by a rude hostes that was annoyed my wife and I didn't want to sit in a small table. We are not small people and after seeing the food we ordered it wouldn't have fit on the small table. Next the food took a very long time to arrive and I feel want not worth the prices. It took me so long to receive a second drink I had to cancel. On the other hand the bar area in the yurts was great. Wonderful staff and great atmosphere. I would recommend eating elsewhere then drinking in the yurts and enjoy some music.
Ate outdoors with live bluegrass music, and the ambiance was nice. The beet salad itself was disappointing, beets seemed canned, there were barely any nuts in the salad either. The pierogi were clearly mass produced and cooked from frozen. The pork schnitzel was very tasteless, literally tasted like nothing. Chicken was dry.
What a disappointing visit. We ordered the poutine, beet salad, and pierogis with kielbasa. The poutine had soggy fries with barely melted cheese curds. The salad came out with feta cheese, which we had specifically asked not to have on it. When I let the server know (not our main waitress who was actually nice) she rolled her eyes at me and gave me a dirty look. The salad quickly came out with no feta. The beets were definitely canned and orange slices still had pits in them. The pierogis were over cooked and there was Parmesan cheese for some reason on it. Clearly, nothing is made from scratch at this place. So you’re paying fairly high prices for mediocre food and rude service. We will never go back.
Casual fun environment and great food. UPDATE: The quality has certainly diminished since my last review. The food is losing its former charm. During my last visit, the service was unfortunately not as I had received previously. The waitress did not check up on our table more than the (likely mandatory) two-bite check back. Basic things like water refills had to be asked for. My party has severe allergies that required asking the kitchen about a few dishes, and the waitress did not seem interested in the quality of the information that she delivered back to us. When asked about whether a dish contained a severe allergen (and incredibly common ingredient), she returned from the kitchen and reported that they did not know. This certainly alarming, and she furthermore did not recommend avoiding the dish, but instead claimed that it would probably be fine. Very odd... Funny enough, the member of my party that had the most trouble ordering was the happiest with the food at the end of the night. I ordered the pierogi's and kielbasa, which was not what it once was. It used to come with lots of pierogi's, thick cut kielbasa, both regular and red cabbage sauerkraut, caramelized onions and sour cream. Now, you get only standard sauerkraut (which was dry) and low quality kielbasa. The sausages were thinly cut and small, but piled high. Only four pierogi's come with the dish now, which are pre-topped with onions. The pierogi's tasted like they had been frozen at some point. The salad was good, but the balsamic dressing was off, almost like a hybrid of balsamic and Italian dressing. The poutine is good, and is best ordered to share. A member of my party ordered the steak frites, and enjoyed the steak thoroughly. Beer was served in the can with no immediately available glass to pour into, which may or may not be an issue depending on personal preference. Something that very much bothered me was the delivery of the food to the table. Each member of my party ordered an appetizer and an entree, with one more appetizer for the whole table. Two personal appetizers came out first, which were timely on their own. About 10 minutes later, every other dish came out. Every other appetizer, every entree, every salad, everything except the food for one member of my party, who had to wait another 5 minutes. It was not well thought out, and it made sitting there with hot food to eat awkward for the whole party. At the end of the night, with lower quality food than anticipated and lackluster service, the check came out to well over $40 a head. TLDR: I was not impressed by the food, the service, and the experience as a whole. I am far less interested in returning for dinner after my latest meal than I have been in the past. I am more hesitant to recommend becks TAVERN than before, though I do have my fingers crossed that I visited them on a bad night. There is still hope and potential in this place. I hope it turns around!
Staff was pleasant and sociable. Decent selection of beer. Very poor layout of bar area! If you can't find a seat at the bar, you are in the way of waitresses, busers and staff. Felt like we constantly had to move out of the way of someone.
The location is great. They had good music outside but we can't rate the food because we never got any after two hrs. We ordered our drinks and waited patt for a long time. Finally I went inside to the bar and apparently they never put our four orders in correctly and 3 we're specials. Bad Bad service. We asked previously and was told it should be out soon. The sad thing is there was no one there when we arrived..We will not be back.
Went there for appetizers. I've had better Kraft Mac and Cheese. Came with fries that were soggy, must have been sitting around, heated up in a micro. Chicken wings, little hard nuggets. Pretzel was ok, really can't screw that up. FYI No waitress service in the Yert. You have to go to restaurant order, return to pick up. The Yert is great for beers and entertainment. Bartenders are fun and friendly. I'm thinking "when in Rome!" stick with the german food. maybe you'll have better luck.
We arrived and were quickly seated and received drinks promptly (small pour glass of wine) When we ordered our meals, our waitress told us that the food will be a bit of a wait. The restaurant was busy with some empty tables. We had no idea that we would be waiting for an hour and a half! They should have told us that prior to being seated and given us honest times. It would have been somewhat tolerable if they had brought some chips or comped a drink or apologized. Everyone around us was equally frustrated. This wasn’t our first time there and we had experienced a long wait for food before but nothing like this. A quick stop for lunch after our mtn bike ride turned out to take 2 hours of our Sunday. These days you try to be more patient than ever with under staffing issues but this was beyond that. Very frustrating! The food was overall good. We ski and ride at gore and after giving becks the benefit of the doubt, we unfortunately will not be going back despite the great potato pancakes.
This place is an absolute joke. Took an hour and 25 minutes for dinner(burgers+sausages) to come out, 1 of the 3 entrees was actually warm. Each drink took over a half hour, and none of our orders were 100% correct but by that point we just said screw it and ate it so we could get out of that abomination of a restaurant. I would HIGHLY recommend eating ANYWHERE else. And thank you for your quick responses to my reviews, if you ran a restaurant with the same expedience you answer reviews you wouldn't get reviews like this.
The worst food experience we’ve had ever! When our food came, we took one bite and then asked for the bill to get out of there. The food was reheated frozen food and greasy. This is not even close to German food. I’m not sure how they even ended up on the top 25 German restaurants in upstate NY!!??? Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
Terrible experience! What a bummer, we were so excited to try this place! No complaints about the yurts, the bartenders were so nice but it went down hill when we went inside to eat! Snotty rude waitress was inconvenienced when we asked for a bigger table, she tried to put us at a tiny 2 seater table and we were planning on ordering a lot! Our food took forever to come out and when it finally did, it was Luke warm and was sub par for the high prices. We never saw our waitress again after she took our food order and had to wait over 20 mins for a beer so we ended up cancelling the beer and asking for our check! Will never return unless it’s outside to have a drink in the yurts! Hey management DO BETTER!
A HORRIFIC RESTAURANT! Firstly, we were told to quiet down at the bar and all we were doing was laughing! We went at 5:30pm on a Saturday evening. And all of our food was COLD by the time we were all served. The first dinner came out at 7pm, well done prime rib! Well done??? The next prime rib served was COLD! Aghast! Most of our meals had to go into the microwave after being served! Manager was 20 years old! She did not even apologize. We should have just gotten up and left after the first meal served. But we all paid our bills even though our last guest in our group of 9 wasn't served her meal until 9pm! Do yourself a favor...do NOT go to Becks!
We ordered takeout from Becks last night and were very disappointed. I had the bratwurst, my wife the goat cheese salad and a hot dog for our daughter. We also ordered mozzarella sticks and pretzels for appetizers. Nothing was even average. The hot dog and bratwurst were basically the same size which was just the size of your average hot dog. The buns were oversized, probably to make up for the lack of meat, and way to big for the size of the obviously prepackaged hotdogs and bratwurst. We received 8 cheese sticks and three of them were completely devoid of any cheese in them. Yes, hollow tubes of breading. The pretzels were fine I guess but way overpriced considering you get two 7" pretzels for $8 dollars. The fries were average, which in this case, was a relief. The goat cheese salad already had the dressing on it, which is our mistake, and was way too much. Raspberries in the salad had a funny taste to them. Would not eat here again under any circumstances. Understand this is a bar with subpar bar food and nothing more. With your expectations low, you may be ok.
The worst experience ever. We've had many assorted dining experiences and NEVER experienced anything like this. We were happily celebrating a birthday and had a good recommendation for Becks. We got our drinks in a timely fashion, but it went down hill from there. After our drinks arrived, we never saw anyone for an hour. I had to go in and request a waitress for drink refills. Never a mention of our food order. Instead of the requested 3 beer refills, we got a whole table's worth of drinks we didn't want. Still no food, but the confused waitress brought us our check with the food and drinks on it. Oops. Two hours after ordering and after I went in and asked what was happening, our food started coming out. Pork schnitzel was cold, dry and generally terrible, along with the cold potatoes and cold, dry vegetables. The "Rubek" rubens were not toasted as advertised and were on hard rye bread, one lacking meat. The only good thing was the kids' chicken wings. Our waitress was continually flustered and confused. Talking to the manager was useless and she was defensive and snotty. We waited forever for a bill and I finally had to ask for it. Ended up they comped us. It was an overall terrible experience and all we wanted to have was a nice birthday dinner. WE WILL NOT RETURN OR RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE.
The bar prices on wine are ridiculously high especially when serving mediocre wine at best. According the the bar tender a glass of wine is $15-$17. Either they are ripping people off or the bar tender was lying. Additionally burger was over cooked; was ordered medium and it was cooked well done. Slow service, high prices and bad food. Avoid going here. There are other nice places in North Creek.
Hadn't been to Beck's since right before Covid 19 shut things down. At that time, I really enjoyed my times there. The food was always delicious, the staff were fast and courteous and the bar offered a good selection of reasonably priced drinks. However, when I returned tonight (Aug 6, 2023), I was very disappointed. It began when I tried to order one of the drink specials listed at my table. The server said they were all out of every one shown, but she could give me something comparable at the special price. When I got the bill I was charged the higher price. I also asked if she could give more details about some menu items, but didn't seem to know anything about them. I decided to go with the delicious kielbasa and pierogi dinner I enjoyed on my last visit. It was horrible. The meat was cut up into small pieces, burned and tasted like warmed up leftovers. The pierogi were overcooked, crunchy and dry. On my way out, I checked to see if I'd put my credit card back in my wallet. It wasn't there. The server never returned it to me until I went back to get it from her. The place really went downhill. Although I'm located closeby, I wouldn't go back there again.
Our recent experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The food was dry and cold, and the service left much to be desired. One dish was forgotten, and we were mistakenly served sauerkraut without ordering it. Even worse, the missing dish wasn’t initially included on the bill but was added without informing us. Throughout the meal, our waitress failed to check on our table of six, leaving us feeling overlooked. Overall, the combination of poor food quality and inattentive service made for an unsatisfactory dining experience.
I wish I could give a review of the food. I don’t know if the hostess was having a bad night but the level of rude we received from her was the worst we have experienced ever. We just left as the assumption was the night was going to be bad based solely on that interaction. We will be sure to tell any of our friends and family to just drive to Glens Falls for dinner
We went to this place after looking at the great reviews but were extremely disappointed. The service was great but the food was not good. We ordered a veggie burger(Beyond patty) and a belgian waffle. The burger buns were not toasted and was served cold. The patty was barely cooked. It was very dry and unseasoned. The fries looked burnt and were served warm and you could tell they were not freshly made and were sitting there for a while and someone probably microwaved it before putting it on the plate. The waffle was cooked well but it was too sweet. I know it’s a dessert but it had way too much sugar and the strawberries on the side helped a bit to cut the sweetness. Would not recommend going unless you don’t have any other options.
