I’ve been coming to Warrensburg for years we decided to try a new place for breakfast . We heard this place was amazing ! I walk in the waitress approached us told us it was going to be 20 minutes in a rude manor and started shaking her head , another waitress came over was rude . We then asked if we can order take out her response was I have no idea how long it will be but you can . RUDE waitstaff I took my kids and walked out ! August 28th 10 am 2021 I will never come back !!

i come there quite frequently, the service is always pleasent even with the place sometimes packed. I would like to see however less of your pasta specials for dinner due to the fact im so busy up here i love the Deep Fried whole chicken breast with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. I havent seen it or any time i call they always have either spaghetti our goulash and we have more than enough pizza joints in the area.

Intro - This was the first place I have been asked to visit and write a review for. So I feel the need to say: I was not paid for this and I paid for my meal in full. Onward: The atmosphere: This place has your expected diner/cafe feel but does it exceedingly well. Everything was clean and had the perfect level of lighting (I have been to places that are far too dark). I was greeted as soon as I entered and seated. The colors in the dining room were bright, not worn out like I have come to expect from smaller restaurants and the chairs were comfortable. Overall 5/5 for the atmosphere. The Food: First, the coffee was good. This wasn't your watered down generic coffee. It had flavor and did not taste old (even with me dining in the afternoon). I ordered two plates of food, expecting to take half of each home. First "The garbage pile" is a breakfast item. It had biscuits, gravy, bacon, scrambled eggs, and home fries. This is the first place that has come even remotely close to having a southern gravy this far north! IT was delicious. The eggs were cooked well, bacon had a slight crunch and was not overly salty, gravy had a great balance and chunks of sausage in it. Overall that dish gets 5/5 Second dish was a Rodeo burger. I ordered it Medium. IT came out and it was actually medium!! This is something I have grown to expect to come out wrong, but not here. The BBQ sauce used wasn't overly sweet and the onion rings on the burger had a crunch to them. Very delicious! This also gets a 5/5 Now onto the most important part. The Service: My waitress was kind caring and attentive. She greeted and sat me as soon as I came in. Took care of my every need and made sure I never had to ask for her attention. She was perfect. Finally: The special request. Every restaurant I go to I make a special request that is not on the menu but is reasonable. Here I asked for an additional cup of gravy. This was taken care of quickly and came out hot! No hesitation on my waitresses part whatsoever. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat or someplace casual to go with your friends/family. The food is delicious and the people are friendly. If you are coming to warrensburg NY you need to stop here! IT's worth every second.

Very good selection of food choices and very fairly priced. Staff was extremely friendly and accepting of our fairly large group of 9 can't wait to get back here. They also have ice cream what more could you ask for. Overall a very good experience.

We drive 80 miles for lunch here. Treated like family. Not fancy, but if want a full belly of good home-cooked food at a reasonable price, this is the place.

Top notch service and down home quality cooking. I'm a big fan of the burgers. The menu says they are made with fresh beef and there is no doubt about it. Skip the chains.

Good food, good service, friendly people. Little unexpected gem when viewed from outside it looks like a sandwich & ice cream parlor but they do a very respectable job with dinner plates too. Enjoyed watching the deer feed out back window while having dinner.

This place is always top notch. Don't sleep on the lucky dogs and ask for some Cajun seasoning on your fries. You won't regret it. The sundaes are nothing to shake a stick at either.

We were passing through the area on a trip and decided to stop for food. We entered the building and were instantly greeted. Once we ordered our food it only took less than ten minutes to get. The food was absolutely amazing. The pancakes were perfect and my cheeseburger was amazing. Definitely check out this diner if you’re in the area!

It is a great place for breakfast. We were staying near there for the Americade rally. There was 10 bikes there three mornings. The service was great the people were friendly and joked with us. You can tell a good place to eat if the local sheriffs and state police are there for breakfast every morning.

This is a quiet, great place, great service, great serving size hidden gem in the back of the north country. Plenty of parking and a decent sized menu. $10-$20 will leave most anybody stuffed and wanting to come back for more.

This is one of those local treasures that I always hope to find while traveling. It's a diner-style restaurant with all the basic breakfast-lunch dishes. In addition, they have a MUCH better than average selection of seasonal pies. I had caramel apple pie and it was delicious. The prices are very reasonable.

This is hands down the best breakfast in the area. We stayed in the area while snowboarding at Gore Mountain, and I wish we had found this place sooner. The chicken and waffle sandwich was amazing.

My family and I stopped for lunch on our way home from vacation in the adirondacks, and the service was phenomenal, and the food was absolutely AMAZING. The staff were super friendly and inviting. We can't wait to go back on our next visit. I highly recommend stopping in and checking this place out. This is the type of customer service every restaurant should have. Oh and it was 100% kid friendly of all ages. 😊

Seriously the best chicken and waffles ever. Being made as a small sandwich which really was perfect in portion with fries. I'd love to get the recipe to make for my kids. I was on a trip with my husband from out of state (Delco) and I will be back just for that sandwich.

We were sat relatively quickly considering how busy they were on a Sunday at 10AM. Order was taken and the food came out less than 10 minutes later still piping hot. The Farmer's Breakfast was delicious. We never once felt forgotten in a packed restaurant.

I have grown up in Warrensburg my entire life and this place has been a staple. The food is always delicious, kind and inviting staff, and a warm atmosphere. I was able to visit last week after some time and it was still just as amazing as I remember. Growing up in the restaurant business, it’s so nice to see a place that continues to put out quality food with a smile. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven’t already. The perfect spot to go for any meal in the Lake George area. We stopped here for breakfast and not a single thing was anything but amazing! The Irish Benedict is a must have!! They helped us sing Happy birthday for my little girl even with how busy they were. And their deserts are also a must have! So happy we got to stop here before we left.

Great breakfast, great people! So kind and helpful when I foolishly left my purse in the restroom, only realizing it when I got home 5 hours later. The patience and good humor of all the staff there was epic as we worked out how to get the purse shipped to me. I am so grateful. What a wonderful, cozy spot, slightly away from Lake George and the high traffic spots. Luck E Star gives you the country feel with a rustic home away from home experience. The food was excellent so we decided to come back for a second breakfast the following day. Staff is very friendly and courteous and took care of all our needs. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Lake George or the surrounding areas.

Really nice place to stop and grab a bite to eat. Haven't tried their ice cream yet because we stopped in for brunch. But they placed looked nice and clean and the staff was super friendly. Only reason for the 4/5 stars is the price, it seemed a tad steep as I only had corned beef hash n homefries and the the other order was eggs, hash n homefries and it was almost $25

Our waitress was very friendly. For me, nothing tops friendly staff. It makes you feel welcome. the food could be terrible but if the staff is friendly, somehow it makes it okay. On a side note, the food was as good as any regular cafe! good place to stop for a meal. I enjoyed.

Sort of a hidden gem for warrensburg, food is usually good, especially for the price, very good for breakfast or lunch, sadly never really been interested in going for dinner. Service is usually quick to start, maybe they become a little lax after you get your food, though i prefer that personally. Usually see a lot of older patrons, but dont let that give you ideas, the food is normally far from bland. Maybe keep the salt shaker in arms reach though.

Breakfast pretty good. Would prefer real butter and real maple syrup for my pancakes but not on the menu here. That and slow service even though the place was less than half full.

They make the best BLT I ever had in my life. Great onion rings and pie too. We actually make a detour and get off the Northway to eat here.

We stopped at luck e Cafe in the spur of the moment as we are from out of state. The staff was very friendly and the menu varied. I had the black and blue burger with fries. The burger was very good and I don't usually eat beef often and the fries were exceptional. My husband had Chile dogs and fries and he was pleased with his meal. We would stop there again if we are in the area.

I ordered the stuffed French toast. I was described as being stuffed with cream cheese (which is why I bought it - anything with cream cheese is delicious!). Unfortunately, the cream cheese layer was barely scraped on (more dots in the crevases of the toast) and I couldn't tell it by tasting it. The French Toast was tasty, but it wasn't stuff as I would have thought. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The cost was reasonable. The environment was that of a small town dinner. Confortable.

Where do I start. Our waitress was friendly. My food, oatmeal everything mixed together when I requested to have on the side. Took 45 minutes to get oatmeal. My boyfriend was ok with his meal, although again 45 minutes for food. I understand there was a table of 6 people and a few tables of 2 people, but the time it took to have our food to us was unacceptable. The waitress asked if I wanted to have a different oatmeal, I declined since I wasn’t willing to wait another 45 minutes. It was way to sweet for my liking, took a few bites. Again waitress was nice but unfortunately we won’t be coming back again. I looked at reviews prior to coming here and was optimistic. They were short staffed according to our waitress .

My boyfriend and I came here yesterday and they were packed so we decided to try again today and they were dead. We asked to sit on the patio with our service dog and it took forever just to get coffee. We sat outside for another half hour before we got our food. We got our coffee in a to go cup and our food came in foil lined to go boats. . Super slow service. We definitely won't be returning to the Lucky E Start Cafe

Stopped in on a day trip to pick up some lunch. We walked in to find staff sitting at a near by table. When we ordered our burgers and coffee, they asked whether we wanted cheese on them or not. Little did we know this was all they would put on them. When we drove away we found they had literally given us the burger on a bun. No option for ketchup, onion, whatever. Also, we originally asked for no fries. They charged us for them anyway because that's their policy. Friendly staff and clean restaurant but wouldn't return.

While the staff was kind, they didn't do a great job of communicating. We wanted a hamburger to go. What we got was meat in a bun. No lettuce, no onion, no... Some places ask if you want these items on the burger, a build your own sort. This was not the case because we were never asked. We opened our box in the car and found meat in a bun. That was it. When we entered the staff was eating at a table by the door, one was drinking McDonald's coffee. Would not stop here again. Probably would go to the McDonalds down the road.

Walked in at 2 pm to do a take out order. Ice cream is great but it was closed for the entire 2024 season before the end of August. Wouldn’t give me a plastic spoon and were unfriendly about it.

This review is specifically for the ice cream stand . My husband and I were driving by and decided to stop for some ice cream . The ice cream was absolutely terrible not only was both of our ice cream chalky as if it had melted and then re frozen by my husbands also had a strong refrigerator taste . We could not finish it and both had to throw it out it was quite a waste of money .

Poor food and poor service make a terrible combination. I had steak and eggs that were terrible. Does anyone know how to cook there? The steak was not properly trimmed and had lots of gristle. My over easy eggs were cooked almost over hard. Save your money, do not waste your time here.

I give this business a negative 10. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all. getting seated takes an hour, getting your food is just as long, the food is okay, but the waitresses are rude and make nasty comments at the guests. the place is pretty clean but not anything special they don't take reservations and don't like it if there is a group. other customers are seated ahead of you while you are waiting in the hallway. We will never go there again.

We are from out of town got there at 1205pm the sign says closing at 1 pm. Seen numerous people seated with no food, and an open table, seen a sign please wait to be seated so we did for over 10 minutes still no acknowledgement. Decided to leave. Not good customer service! Will not stop back through as we travel a lot through the area!

Worse service ever. No hello when we walked in. Was not seated and had to seat ourselves. The table was soaking wet and so were the seats. We stood at the table hoping someone would dry the seats. We waited a while for them to even ask us what drinks we wanted. When she brought our drinks they were dropped on the table and the creamer was thrown on the table like we were a bother. Our food came out fast. It's was ok but nothing I would go back for. We never. We had to ask for our silverware. We were very polite to the waitress with lots of thanks and never got even a single word from her except for when we ordered our food and when we got our check. Would never go back!

terrible service, we waited 12 minutes for three ice creams, girl taking our order had a major attitude. She also kept wiping her nose with the same hand we were served our ice cream with. Let alone the mediocre ice cream at best, we will not be returning.

Waited nearly 45 minutes for two eggs, over easy and an omelette. People being sat after us were getting food before us. Finally left some cash for our drinks and left. The wait staff has the personality of a door knob. Went to The New Way and was served a consistently great meal in less than 15 minutes. Luck E Star is over priced, terrible service. Will not return.

Multiple customers being served with no masks on.They have signs stating no mask no service. Staff was not enforcing it.This makes other customers apprehensive. Also ordered a specific flavor and recieved something totally different. Once all done I didn't even get my credit card back we had to ask.

We came all the time. From now on, never again. It took over 45 minutes to receive, what I ordered. Which was a 4-Piece fried Chicken and fries The waitress came past me one time and told me that the order was being cooked, that I wouldn't want to have it raw , and then disappeared That was about 40 minutes into waiting for the meal. 5 minutes later she showed up with a plate they had fries on and four tiny pieces of chicken. 2 size which were probably about 2 & 1/2 by 2 & 1/2 inches and a1 inch thickness. A wing, that looks like a little Bird's wing and a chicken leg that was about 2 inches long and thin. It was extremely crispy and dry. If I had to put all the meat together it probably would have come out to maybe one healthy looking chicken leg. When I brought it to the waitress's attention, all she could say was that I didn't kill it. This restaurant used to be a really good restaurant. Won't step foot into it again and will stop recommending it to others.

Well, for everything there is a season. The season has turned for this place. Warrensburg isnt the epircurean dreamworld or service Nirvana, but... would it KILL YA to be polite, even minimally attentive, or dare I say COURTEOUS to patrons?? Ordered ahead to pickup my lunch and it was waiting in the service window before I arrived. Getting cold, because in years I've never seen them turn on the heat lamps. The price seems to have remained "nearly" steady since I last gave up on them, but the portion of chicken on a sandwich was VERY noticeably smaller. The fries weren't enough to split, as we did the sandwich (which may have been a 4 oz breast @$13)- luckily I ordered fried mushrooms (which are my favorite, but now are served in a smaller order by count at the same or higher price). I stood ungreeted for 7 minutes watching the cook chat up a drink vendor and share Facebook moments until even he gave up and (no didn't greet or acknowledge me- he banged on his Mel Bell to call an uninterested waitress to brusquely inquire if I could be helped. I repeated my order and she leered into the window without acknowledging me. Then went to the register and spent another 6 minutes fumbling and somehow interacting with a latecoming coworker- only to follow up with me by asking cash or card. On my reply she didn't even recognize a response. Then presented me a bill with a demand for signature while struggle with inadequate packaging to secure my food in a bag. Food cold, service lousy, and overpriced/under-portioned it shows a struggling busimess with shorter hours and poor service to draw customers. Sorry - the time has passed. Not likely yo give the. A 3rd chance to break faith. OLD VERSION: Great for carry-out orders, and I would assume dine in as well - once COVID is under control! They have a great selection of offerings on their menu, and all is prepared to order as expected for a diner/cafe. Fried Mushrooms are a favorite in our house and the fix is IN! They've got 'em!! We'll be frequenting this establishment.
