I love Manila Sunset!!! This is the perfect place to satisfy my cravings for traditional Filipino flavors like pancit malabon, bibingka, lumpia sariwa, crispy tokwa't baboy, and goto, to name a few. The service is always excellent and fast. I was just here three weeks ago and noticed they now have a new male staff member working alongside the pretty lady at the front cashier. Both were friendly and helpful. Their teamwork was superb!

Amazing food, great service , breakfast all day and the best bibingka in the valley!!!

First time here. I came for lunch. There was no wait. They have a good selection of food for people new to Filipino food and some for those who love it. They also have good choices for desert. The staff is nice and patient and offered some recommendations. The atmosphere is great. It's clean, quiet, and comfortable. The lot in the front can get busy, but there's parking in the back.

Their Bibingka (Rice Cake) is to die for. Definitely a craving properly satisfied. It was fluffy and buttery and moist. And the coconut on the side was perfect too. We also got the Halo-Halo with Ube Ice Cream and Leche Flan. I paid 30-31 for 2 bibingka’s and 2 halo-halo’s including tax.

M
Michael Medina

I ordered Tocino and it was pretty good. It had the right amount of rice to meat ratio if that makes sense. The Crispy Pata is also really good! But be prepared to wait about 20-30 minutes for that item.

Super long wait in line on Xmas eve. Food was good, but the pancit didn't last too long. Not sure how long it sat in the bag due to the high demand for the food.

Manila Sunset brings me back to my sweet home town in the Philippines. I’ve been here twice this week already, and I can’t wait to come back again. Food is awesome! I’ve been looking for bibingka since I got here in the states, and I’ve tasted other bibingkas, but Manila Sunset is THE BEST. There’s no other way I’m having bibingka, other than Manila Sunset’s. And my fam and friends are asking me to order for them too lol. Now if you still won’t try theirs, idk what’s stopping you. Don’t miss half of your life, order now. And not just the bibingka btw, me and my folks really like the Silog cuisines here too. 😍😍😍 Their food prep and serving is really quick, and the place is really clean! I feel safe ordering from this restaurant despite the pandemic. Trust me. I only give give good words for places tht are worth it. Reach @danhilmagcalas on Instagram if you need more convincing 😊 Highly recommended! 😊

1 1/2 minute read: MANILA SUNSET is a traditional Filipino restaurant. Many favorite foods from the Philippines are on their menu. Fried Milk Fish and other favorite fish are featured. The entrées are prepared to order. It is not a bulk- prepared buffet. My wife was craving HALO HALO, so we drove over to get it. HALO HALO, for those of you who aren’t familiar, is like a Smoothie except at least 5 ingredients are used in its preparation that may include some of these: Ice Cream, Ube, gelatin squares, kernel corn, kidney beans, Navy Beans, avocado and shaved ice. Smoothies are creamed, in consistency. Halo Halo is not. My favorite food item can be TOQWAT BABOY, Fried fish, or Chicken Goto. If your not familiar with these Tagalog names, join the club- neither am I. Thanks.

If you are looking for authentic Filipino food, visit Manila Sunset in North Hills CA. You will find all your favorite cuisine (lumpiang shanghai, pancit malabon and bibingka etc.) Tita Lerry and Ate Angel are simply the BEST!!!

My family and I have been coming here for 20 years and continue to be huge fans of their food. Our favorite to order are the pancit malabon and bibinka. We bring it to almost every family party and it’s always a hit! No other place makes them better. Would recommend calling in advance for bigger orders, they give you the option of choosing a pick-up time. The ordering process is easy, reliable, and efficient, and the staff has always been kind and friendly. Would recommend coming here if you’re in town!

We went there yesterday on their last hour but the way we were welcomed and served feels like they just opened the store. The ladies were very pleasant, and helpful. I brought church friends and introduced the place for the first time and they never failed to serve my old time favorites the same way i enjoyed them for many years--pancit malabon, shanghey (as they call it jokingly), bibingka and halo halo.. quality has always been at its best! Love it! More power! God bless!

I ordered “pork inihaw” (grilled pork) and sago’t gulaman (drinks) for take away. The drinks was okay, taste differently. However the Food was excellent, with a lot of condiments and was surprised that it comes with soup (sabaw). That is really nice!! Just like eating at carinderia back home. Will definitely come back. Deserves a 5 star. Good job guys. Keep it up.

I was excited to know that there was a philipino restaurant near me. I had the pork tocino & eggs with lumpias and everything was delicious. The pork was nice and crispy and the lumpias were sweet and savory. The service was speedy and friendly. I have to try everything on the menu now.

Good food, friendly service, so I’m happy. I got the lechon and the bbq pork and it’s definitely worth it. The lumpiang shanghai (similar to small egg-rolls) are really good. It’s far, far too easy to eat a dozen by yourself... Also make sure you get a dessert, because they’re awesome. Halo-halo for the win! I would definitely consider the Bibingka as well. Order now!

Between this and the branch on Vermont Los Angeles, this one is so much better: well lit, well ventilated, cleaner, food tastes better, service is more people oriented (thanks to the duo team of Lerry and Paloma) and unlike on Vermont, this branch allows you to use their restroom which is well kept. I wish this is actually located on Vermont so I can come here often. --- Marcel

I’ve visited this Manila Sunset location in North Hills multiple times, and every experience has been excellent. My absolute favorites from their menu are the Pancit Malabon—no other place makes it quite like Manila Sunset—and the bibingka, which is always perfectly cooked: moist, fluffy, and delicious. I’ve also tried several other dishes on the menu and have enjoyed every one of them. If you’re looking for authentic Filipino cuisine, this restaurant is a must-try. Despite how busy the restaurant usually is during my visits, I’ve consistently received outstanding customer service from Paloma, one of the cashiers. She is always welcoming, offers a warm smile, and is efficient, accurate, helpful, and professional. I’ve even seen her step away from the cashier area to clean up a table left untidy by customers—clearing the trash, wiping it down herself, or picking up litter from the floor. Not every fast-food and restaurant employee goes above and beyond like that. It’s clear Paloma takes pride in her work, and I hope management recognizes what a valuable team member they have in her. Working in food service isn’t easy, but employees like Paloma truly elevate the customer experience. Kudos to the entire team at Manila Sunset for maintaining such high standards in both food and service!

This is our go-to spot for quick take-out Filipino dishes. They also serve some hard-to-find Filipino favorites like Pancit Malabon, Bibingka, and Puto Bumbong, which are always a big hit with our family—especially during parties. On top of that, the customer service is impeccable. I especially remember one visit when I made a special request for my Bibingka (no sugar). The staff member who took my order—I believe her name was Paloma—was incredibly attentive. She noticed that the first two Bibingkas didn’t meet my request and sent them back until the kitchen got it perfect. Thanks to her attention to detail, I went home and enjoyed my treat without worrying about my blood sugar spiking.

Best fast Filipino food in the San Fernando Valley. My co-worker and I always get food from here on our lunch breaks. You can usually call in your order and it will be ready for pick up or dine in by the time you arrive. The Pancit Malabon is amazing! Beef BBQ so tasty! And who would ever forget their famous freshly baked bibingka... heaven! The restaurant is clean. Prices are reasonable. Portions are average. Don't expect a pile of food when you get it, but I always get stuffed from that portion. They accept credit/debit cards. They also take catering orders. The only down side is the parking. They're located in a small complex with 7/11, Baskin Robbins and Subway. So the parking lot is usually always packed. You may have to camp out for someone to leave or park on the side street.

D
Deli San (Del)

We like the puto bumbong with fresh grated coconut here. But the pancit malabon (palabok)is like rice that cut into small pieces. The taste is okay but not really the pancit malabon i've tasted before. Need to improve the cooking skills for this one.

Love the bibingka! Not 5 star because for some reason the lady manning the cashier decides on whom she will be kind and polite to- which was rude. Other than that, the place looks nice. Parking can get full. Have not tried other menu but bibingka twice and one of the best bread/cake food i tried in the valley.

Their bibingka is delicious! Custard like texture and sweetness is just right. Pansit can use more vegetables and meat toppings. Their mungo and the tortang talong were tasty and flavorful. The torta was a bit oily, but overall the dishes were tasty.

Came here last night with a friend for dinner. It's in a small plaza with el pollo loco and subway. Didn't know it was a chain. Friendly staff. Menu is pretty simple and prices are good. More like a fast food type restaurant, but they make it when you order so it's fresher. We chose the pancit malabun and pork sigsig. Not too heavy. Loved the picked vegetables we received with the meal. Texture and flavor was just right.

L

Halo-halo is a 5-star, Shanghai lumpia is unpredictable once it taste like a 4-star, then the next taste like a reheated roll. This happened also last Xmas eve.

C
Cris Dizon

We ordered pinakbet, lechon kawali and pork bbq. The pinakbet was bland and my mother-in-law kept saying it was not tasty. The lechon kawali was not crispy and it seemed like it was recycled from the previous day. The pork bbq was so-so. We thought the quality will be similar to the one in National City but sad to say, it is not.

S

The sisig plate was not good at all. Do not get the sisig plate, service was fine though. Did not get a chance to try their other BBQ plates. But save yourself 10$ do not order the sisig plate.

UNORGANIZED! Ordered for Christmas to pick up at 3PM, the line was wrapped around the corner. What is the point of having a pick up time and pre ordering when we had to wait for an hour outside. I understand it’s Christmas eve and you get lots of order during this time but at least be organized and have the orders ready.

The branch on vermont in los angeles has a habit of not answering their phones. I called this branch to seek a solution, but guess what I learn... the owner still sleeping at 10:58 am on saturday morning? Oh by the way theur puto bombong got sooo tiny... its almost the size of a CRAYOLA. Pinoy business is not about customer satisfaction. It is more of a TUBONG LUGAW.

I ordered 36 pcs of bibingka and picked up at 12:00 pm. Sunday July 11, 2021, pasalubong to relatives and friends in the Bay Area. Today I received various feedbacks that they got bibingka that were still not completely cooked, were burned, without cheese, small size than the regular sized we used to get. I told them I noticed the variations in sizes but, I can’t tell when i picked up that other problems they experienced eating them. The problem was, I talked to different person when i ordered vs picked up. I hope the owner will take this rating seriously. We really want your bibingka from there that’s why i ordered in bulk as pasalubong. It’s frustrating that I can’t personally complain due to distance. Hope you will take this up with your crew, who cooked these bibingka.

I'm not sure why, but out of everyone that was there, we were the only ones who did not get their food completed. On top of a missing order, the order that we received was cold. First time there and definitely the last time. I'm not sure if it's because we look different because everyone got their order, inlcuding the ones that ordered after us. We ordered at 12:42 and got half of our food at 1:20..... its bull how we got treated differently. ( keep in mind the customer that ordered after us had bigger orders... order after order and we couldnt even get ours, not even completed ) we just ordered two things... top of that, the two girls that took our ordered having their side comments.

We have been a valued customer of this restaurant for almost 20 years now. Unfortunately, their product, bibingka, which is so popular is NO LONGER the same delicious and tasty bibingka which we used to order and eat at their place😫😫😫😫😫Yesterday we ordered for take out. When we got home, we opened our order and the bibingka was over done, burnt and tasted so bad like it's not a freshly cooked bibingka. We were not able to eat both. We hope the owner of this place would look into his staff and how they prepare their products or else... . ...your business will start to lose your valued customers and fall😫😫😫😫

cashier has an attitude. food quality is not very good. I didn't mind waiting a long time if the food was freshly made. but when I got my food, it took about 20min long. to make matters worse, it the malabo sauce spilled all over the bag, which was really messy n greasy. lechon kawali was difficult to chew and not hot n crispy. It wasent a very delightful experience. This place is very far and pricy and for the food quality is very poor.

Very disappointed and feel scammed! I ordered 3 dishes for Christmas Eve - pancit malabon was spoiled and Sisig meat was hard/tough to chew, only the dinuguan tasted okay but the portion for the price paid was not worth the price! Btw, I paid almost $200 for a small plate size of dinuguan and medium sizes of pancit malabon and Sisig!

I ordered dinuguan and palabok at this location. Dinuguan is too oily; meat must be a combination of pig ears and lots of fats. The taste is not even close to dinuguan, more like nilaga! Please google dinuguan recipe to do justice for the $14.00 + charge for a cup size order. Palabok is only okay. Do you really have to add a strong taste of sesame oil? Shrimps are not only small; they were even cut in half!
