We were in Cleveland on Vacation, and this hands down was some of the best bbq I’ve had in my life! I am from Kansas City the home of bbq. The meats were smoked to perfection. My brisket was delicious and melted in my mouth. All my food was hot, taste good, and came out quickly! Our server Katie was a blessing, she was very professional, kind, and very attentive to our needs. If I lived here in Ohio, I would go to this place at least once a week. Only thing I can say could improve is mopping the floors, they were very sticky. But Everything on my platter was delicious!
Don't let the fact this is a chain restaurant fool you. It has great BBQ. The corn bread muffins at Dave's are amazing I could eat a dozen of them. The ribs are great but you really have to try the roasted chicken both the dark and white meat are Excellent. They are prepared perfectly and it is hard to find juicy white meat chicken at most restaurants. The burgers are also great they'll even cook it to your tenpature preference which is again something you don't see at chain restaurants. The drinks here are also shockingly good, very well balanced. This place doesn't feel like a chain restaurant it genuinely can stand up with a local BBQ joint which is shocking. It's also reasonably priced with a large free parking lot. They're isvalso rarely a wait with a large dining room. So go give it a try, it's way better than you'd expect. Also there are daily specials here the feast for 2 on Tuesdays is an excellent deal.
Discovered 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐕𝐄’𝐒 𝐁𝐁𝐐 on the DoorDash app and decided to order dinner for the first time. I ordered a white meat fried chicken platter with sides of jalapeño/corn macaroni and red skin mashed potatoes, a kids spare rib meal, and a ½ dozen of corn bread muffins. Everything was pretty tasty especially the corn bread muffins and chicken. I’ll definitely have to visit the restaurant in person for a complete dining experience 👍🏾
I went here on a Sunday at about 1:00 pm. Next time I visit it will be about 1:00 pm on a Sunday!!!!! I had a burger and fries, which was great, but I am posting this review about the Flying Pig! The Flying Pig is a sharable platter with rib tips, chicken wings, and more! My picky husband LOVED IT! It is perfect for 2-3 people to share. The place was clean, the staff was also nice AND very friendly (which is very important to us). We will definitely be going back!
An amazing place to dine at by yourself or with family! Went here with 3 family members and got a lot more than we thought we would! We ordered the feast for two, and was able to feed everyone with some to spare. The spare ribs and cornbread muffins were especially good. The service itself was amazing, the server (Rose) was extremely kind and helpful! She was patient, answered any question we had, and was super friendly! Definitely planning on stopping here again when in the area!
Everything was just great, it was well accommodated for a larger party around dinner time. The waitress was polite and attentive. It had a quiet ambiance. The burnt ends were to die for.
This place is so good! My family loves their barbecue food! I usually get the chicken, but tonight I got the brisket! Everything is so tasty! The brisket was very tender! The mashed potatoes are like homemade! I tried the collards and they were also very good! There’s also several types of barbecue sauces you can try which is fun! The desserts look good, but we didn’t have any room! They know carry pies from Bakers Square! There’s banana pudding and bread pudding! ❤️
Very fresh n seasoned food. Staff was very polite n friendly
Famous Dave's is a barbecue restaurant by Great Northern Mall. We look forward to going to this location each time we are in town. Our favorite is the feast for two. The feast includes ribs, chicken, beef brisket, cole slaw, fries, corn on the cob, and corn bread. If it looks like a lot of food, it is. The menu says it feeds 2-3 people. The three of us took some home. Each of us liked a different sauce, but everything was delicious.
Consistently delicious and always served hot and now! Wait staff is casual and friendly. Drinks are delicious. Unsweet iced tea is great and sweet tea is a little bit like Deep South sweet tea. Cavities while you drink! If you don’t get the burnt ends appetizer, you’ve missed the greatest thing since sauce. Thank the bar-b-que Lord above that they keep an entire roll of paper towels on the table. Dave was brilliant to do that. Do not question it. If you’re hungry GO THERE. They have the cure.
Food was plentiful, delicious and the price was great. Even my leftovers the next day was awesome. There pineapple BBQ sauce is 🔥.
The entire staff were absolutely amazing and kind. They work well together. The manager celebrated his team and encure they produced, fresh quality food.
We had amazing times,The food was very delicious 😋. The employee was very nice and my daughter is a vegan and cater to her needs, she had the black bean burger and she said it was delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and we got the feast and it was so delicious 😋. We will be back soon. Ms. AD
Famous Dave's has catered our holiday lunch for the past couple of years now. The food is so good. Quick and easy ordering process. Confirmed order the day prior to p/u. Will order again.
We’ve been coming here for years! My dad’s favorite restaurant! After our last visit i just really want to give Dawn a huge shout out she was wonderful! Super kind and helpful
We had Famous Dave’s do the catering for my son’s wedding…. This is what our son and his future wife wanted. The food was excellent, all the guests loved that it was BBQ instead of the standard wedding food…. The servers were outstanding… again the food was hot & delicious & enjoyed by all…. Best thing we ever did…. it was held at an outside Pavillion….. thanks Famous Dave’s !!!!! Mother of the groom
I had my bday dinner here on December 13th. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ME AND MY GUEST RECIEVED WAS OUTSTANDING. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE.
The best food, service and pricing around! We use the catering/delivery on a regular basis and could not be happier. Often times it is difficult to offer a solid 5 star review to a business, but in this case - I'd give them a 6!
Great time here. Food is always good. My bartender/server Dawns service and vibe definitely took my meal to another level. Thank you Dawn. Will return
I have eaten famous Dave’s before, but from door dash. Eating in the restaurant is a completely different experience. I had the Que Combo with brisket and sausage. The sides were Mac n cheese and beans. When the server asked if I needed anything else, I assured her I would need a to go box. The portion was large. The brisket claims Texas style, and it is good, but falls a little short on the smoke flavor. The sausage was excellent. At first, I thought the Mac n cheese looked a little dry, but it was very creamy and had jalapeños in it. Fantastic! The Wilbur beans were baked beans. Hard to mess up. The cornbread muffin was very good as well. I was impressed that it was served on a small metal tray and had toast under the meat to soak up any stray grease! Old school! The atmosphere was pleasant. Good music and not too loud. They had the Bengals game on to watch. My server, Katie, was great. She took good care of me without being overbearing. Her smile and attitude made the experience much better. I hate eating out alone, but when I have to do so, a great server makes it much better. Thank you.
I don't post reviews on restaurant chains very often, but my experience over the years at Famous Dave's has always been good. This particular dinner was no exception. I ordered the combo with Iris' down home fried chicken & brisket. Both were good. Brisket was a bit dry but some of Dave's Devils Spit BBQ helped that out. Fries & collard greens were a good choice of sides. My wife had the sassy BBQ salad and really enjoyed that as well. The place was pretty empty (week night), service was great and the restaurant seemed clean and well taken care of. Famous Dave's has been consistently good, in my experience.
Food was good, but not amazing. The service was excellent though; it was fast, quick, and accurate. The atmosphere is cool but while we were there (Sunday afternoon) the restaurant was pretty empty so it was kind of quiet. I can imagine on a Friday or Saturday night it would be a great spot to swing by!
Overall good visit. I'm not a BBQ fan, but still enjoyed it. We got the feast that serves 4 to 6. It was a very good quantity. Ordered extra rolls and corn
My favorite place for BBQ in the west side. Sometimes they can make mistakes but 9 times out of 10 your experience turns out to be great. Friendly staff, clean and neat place. Brunt ends are amazing but too expensive and the portion is too small. Excellent sauces and great baby back ribs. Chicken could be a little tastier but it's not bad either overall. My wife loves their mac n cheese and the beans are very good too. I'd give this place 4.5 if I could. Definitely worth a try!
Food was quite tasty. And tables are spaced apart so you don't feel right on top of anyone. We got a "platter" for sharing .. see photos. Only wish this combo had more pulled pork. The chilli was awesome, very similar to Texas Roadhouse recipe.
Baby back ribs hands down are top notch, but every time I order, I bring them home and air fry them a little longer cause I don't like my ribs with any pink. 9.0/10.0 A Also, they give you a good amount of sauce.
This was our first time eating here and it was overall amazing! The food was really good, specifically the smoked brisket egg rolls and bread pudding! The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable! But what was the best was the customer service! Special shout out to Dawn who had amazing customer service!
I ordered a whole chicken to go. The girl at the takeoutcou tee was super sweet and friendly. However, the box seemed to be lightweight, so I looked inside and there were only two pieces of chicken inside. She took it back to the kitchen and I had to wait an additional 7 minutes while they (kitchen staff) added my additional pieces.
Celebrated my 92 year old God mother's birthday. Hadn't been since the early 2000's. Food was still good. My only complaint was they did not have cream for the coffee. Only milk. Other than that, we had a great time. Thanks for making my godmother's birthday celebration enjoyable. She was very happy😊
Our food and server were great! The downfall the last 2 times has been the constant workplace gossip coming from the younger associates. This is the 2nd time we have heard nothing but gossip coming from the hostess and some of the younger staff about each other. I get they're young kids most likely in highschool still, but management should be on top of this. Noone likes workplace gossip!
First visit for me, but I was with a friend who loves this restaurant so we decided to try it. When we arrived we walked into 4-5 employees hanging out at the podium. A woman behind the podium greeted us, but there was a tall employee with an apron blocking the podium who did not move out of the way so she could service us. He turned around to look at us, but then turned back around to whomever he was speaking with so we could not approach the woman trying to service us. It was very rude and not the best start. It wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. I would say the restaurant was probably a third full. It took about 10-15 minutes for us to be greeted, at that time the server told us she'd be with us shortly. When she came back she took our drink orders and then came back for our food order. While she was pleasant and friendly, the food took a very long time which was unexpected because they weren't busy at all. The server also never came back to update us on the status of our order which would have helped. Eventually the food was received and it looked pretty good. Upon tasting the food, we were mostly pleased. Of particular note were the ribs which were very good. Just the right amount of meat and a little fat to keep it moist. The fries and macaroni and cheese were well seasoned. The wings weren't our favorite and the brisket was very dense and not moist. We would not order the brisket or wings again which is unfortunate because we love brisket. Additionally, upon receiving a refill on the water at the end, there was a dead gnat floating in it, so that wasn't fun either. So while our visit wasn't the worst, it also wasn't the best. Based on all the good things I have been told about Famous Dave's, I guess just expected more.
Ordered the chicken feast for 4 through Door Dash. The sides were good but most of the chicken you couldn't tell what it was. The drumsticks were easy to tell, the rest not so much. I also ordered 2 slices of the apple pie based on how yummy it looked on the website. VERY disappointed in how small it was. I mean I would pay $7.55 for the picture on the menu. Not what was actually delivered
The decor is cool. Both times I've been here service and staff have been great! Unfortunately, the food hasn't been. First time, I got the pulled pork, and mac n cheese. Wasn't impressed with either. Both lacked any flavor or seasoning. This last time, my guy got the burnt ends, and I believe the brisket. Both looked dry and he couldn't even eat them. Said they tasted like they'd been sitting for awhile. He never sends anything back, but he was hungry and did this time. He said the fries were good, but also said the Mac n cheese wasn't. The server and cooks were awesome about it, and were willing to substitute, and he got the double cheese burger instead, which is also what I ordered with mashed potatoes. The burger was big, and cooked good, but still lacked flavor and seasoning as did the potatoes. For having Bar-b- que in the name, you expect the BBQ to be the focal point and really good, unfortunately after 2 chances, the food just missed the mark.
The overall experience was OK but could have been a lot better. As often the case, attention to details is what separates good restaurants from mediocre ones. The service was good but the place wasn't busy so it's hard to measure it accurately. As someone else commented, the fries were not what was advertised on the menu and the server made no effort to explain the discrepancy. The pulled chicken was not bad but lacked the flavors one tends to associate with BBQ joint offerings.
The service was great and our server was very attentive, we didnt wait to be seated because it wasn't very busy. It was quiet, even with the radio playing. We ordered the combo thing where you can get two meats and I got brisket and barbecue chicken, garlic mashed, and steamed broccoli. We also got the korean egg rolls and those were really good, but in terms of the main meal I think the broccoli and the cornbread muffin were the best part. There wasn't a ton of barbecue sauce on either of my items and the brisket was particularly dry and a little bland. The chicken was good but was a tad undercooked near the bones. The garlic mashed was also a bit bland but not horrible, just not great. It's a chain restaurant so I doubt they'll change things up much, I dont know that I would go back but I am willing to bet there are other good things on the menu and you can alter things to be better.
First visit for me, but I was Told By a friend who loves this restaurant so we decided to try it. When we arrived we walked into the restaurant and It wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. I would say the restaurant was probably a third full. Server Was Very Nice And Got Are Drinks and the Order Eventually the food was received and it looked pretty good. Upon tasting the food, the Baby Back ribs Had to Fight to get off the bone which were OK. The fries Were Cold and the brisket was very dense and not moist With a Bite. We would not order the brisket or Ribs again which is unfortunate because we love brisket. Based on all the good things I have been told about Famous Dave's, I guess just expected more.
Food is good. No burnt ends available they have thr rib tips all you can eat, 20 minutes been waiting for the next plate of 3 oz refill of ribs each refill of rib tips... no refills yet and our waitress is doing something else. Bad service, bad all you can eat service today for us.. don't know how they serve the others but us it was bad. The food is good bur the all you can eat means wait a long time before the next 3 oz plate of refill of ribs come in. The photo is the size of the refill plate. I gave them one star for the server and another for the food. The 3 other stars i didn't give is one for the long time before the food got here, one for my time waisted and the other star was a couple of the people in our party was done before the all you can eat refill got to the table. The photo was the rib refill of The all you can eat.
I remember as a kid going to Famous Dave’s and it was so good. This location is just off - and desperately needs a remodel. It feels deserted. The food is not nearly as good as it was 10 years ago. Feels like this is another one of those brands that lost its special sauce when it sold.
Unfortunately this was the worst experience I ever had at Famous Dave's in North Olmsted, Ohio. The food came out quickly but it was cold. I was looking forward to eating there because it had been quite a while. The waitress was attentive and very pleasant. The floors are always sticky. I hope it will be better the next visit. If I lived closer and drove I would come more often.
Disappointed sat down to have a nice diner with mom and dad to Celebrate dads birthday. Service was slow (seemes she had lot of tables). Dad meal was fine. Mom ordered chicken ALL dark and got a mixed and was charged for the alll dark. I ordered chicken ALL dark and got ALL white. It took a moment for some see how we were doing by this mom and about 1/2 though dinner she came back. Told here it's all white and wanted dark. She was going to replace it until told to keep my sides. It should all been replaced the are sides not the main dish why would I fill up an side waiting on a slow kitchen and runners. Not sure would be back.
Came here with my party for my birthday. It wasn't busy when we were there. I used to love this restaurant which was why we came . The services was slow. Our appetizers took well over 30+ minutes to come out. Then our food followed shortly. Temperature wise things were cold or room temp by the time the food came out. The chicken and corn bread muffins were probably the best items. Burnt ends were good at best, brisket was dry and cold, fries were ok, pulled pork was wayyyy to salty, Mac and cheese was cold, cat fish fingers were fishier than all heck, ribs were dry. The food overall was lack luster. The most disappointing part was the slow service, we had to refill our own water because our server seemed to never be around. Between sitting down at 6pm and ordering food it took over an hour to get our food. If you want good cornbread muffins and just ok food otherwise, go ahead and visit them. If you want slow service this is also your place. So disappointed as this used to be one of my favorite places.
I ordered three two piece combo s. The brisket portions were very small. The waiter said that it was weighed The muffins were cold, the waiter replaced them. I also noticed that we were seated in the back, even though our side was completely empty. A group of men came in and was immediately sitted in the front. It was very obvious why tha occurred, being the only blacks in the restaurant. I spent over $100.00 and it wasn't worth it.
I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and they gave me fried chicken, went back in and reordered and this is what i got... very disappointed. It went straight in the trash after i spent almost $40. Also another time I went for dine in they charged me 4 times all different prices. My bill was $45 and i got charged over $150. When i called they said they were "checking if my card worked" and the payments wouldn't go through. Welp they did and i had to call my bank and get all of it cleared up. I will not be coming back.
I ordered a “Hand Breaded Chicken Strips Platter”.I assumed since chicken tenders is a relatively simple order it would be made well. I was wrong. Chicken Burnt (also did not come with sauce I ordered), Fries Unseasoned and their baked Mac n cheese has CORN kernels in it. Maybe this place is good barbecue if your family cannot cook whatsoever 0/10.
We usually order rib tip bucket and today we didn't receive to many rib tips for a bucket and fries they charge us for. Not fresh and had to turn in old fries to get new ones and portion size of new order was not like it use to. This place is going down will not be returning. $30 dollars plus 6 dollars for center pieces and this all we get. Tired of the fight and these restaurants not wanting to be fair on portion sizes. Pulling out my grill for rest of spring and summer!
I ordered a 2 meat platter, And asked for double brisket. The brisket is dry, over cooked and tough. I also asked for two fried chicken thighs. They gave me a leg and breast. I was told it would be another 5 minutes to get what I asked for. They should have just told me it would be 5 more minutes and got my order right. The fries taste like they had been sitting. There are two guys in the back arguing loudly. The lady who took my order was nice and apologized. The corn muffin was good but this was a disappointment. Update nov 2025- if you notice they said they would call to make this right and never did. Im not surprised.
The corn was dipped in something absolutely disgusting, completely inedible. The St.Loius style ribs were undercooked and awful. The waiter brought me 17 bills in change from my two 50's. He never even asked if the meal was ok, so I'll say it here: this place sucks now, used to be great but now it's just horrible.
Come here if want BBQ that has been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, and can at best be described as "somewhat warm". Following the meal you can expect an unpleasant bathroom trip about 20-30 minutes after you leave the restaurant. I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant.
We went in on a Saturday night. After adding our name to the wait list for tables (which we completely understand) we went to have a drink at the bar. After giving us menus the bartender subsequently completely ignored us on multiple passes by. After about 20 minutes we waved her down to ask if we could place our drink order and she rudely said she was too busy and we needed to give her more time. After talking to some women who were also sitting t the bar they said they waited over 45minutes for the food and when it arrived they were disappointed nd it wasn’t up to what they expected based on prior cisits. So we left. Trying to save someone else a frustrating experience
My husband and I ordered the Texas Beef Brisket sandwiches. I have worked in meat departments for years and that was not brisket. Whatever the mystery meat was, it had the texture of bologna, the meat was gray and cut into squares, plus it was cold. Worst dining experience ever. The server (Becca) was excellent. I wish I had taken a photo to post here.
