I had the best time of my life this weekend at this club. It was a great mixture of blackness. It was harmony and love...just pure amazing!

I'm very happy to know to let you know that if you lose something in this place I might take a few days but they do try to find it and they will find any way to get back in touch with you even if it's calling your insurance company to tell you they have your stuff right on Parkside Lounge right on

The blues on Sunday is the most hidden gem in all of Oakland. Out of this world music in an old school dive setting with the friendliest of folks. Bonus points for always letting me dance around in my roller skates!

My daughter's and I had a great time on Sunday for the Blues session it was awesome. The singers and band were great. We will return in the future and tell others to come to the Blue Sunday.😁

Went for the first time on Friday night 3/14/2025. Had a blast. DJ is good. Music was wide ranged in generations. R and B , hip hop, old school. Drinks were great and bar tenders talented. People were cool. Mostly old school but a good percent of younger people. Thanks for the love Lakeside. ❤️ see you again

Great bar, Great staff, reasonable prices and down home blues. I had a ball. There was a racist, white, Karen inside of the bar who had a little bit too much to drink and was being racist saying that she doesn't like black people. Literally everyone else in the bar was black. She even struck a black man in the face, outside of the bar and the staff handled it flawlessly and peacefully. I was very impressed. Then I found out that there was an extra hundred dollar charge take from my card as a tip that I didn't authorized. I got my money back "in cash". So someone was tryna be slick. So just don't let them hold on to your card, pay in cash and have a good time.

If you are looking for an old bar with great music and a fun atmosphere this is the place to be. I visited the bar clubs may10th 2025. There was only one bar tender. We had to wait 15 minutes to be served. I don’t blame the bar tender it was a staffing problem. Lastly me and my friends came to the same conclusion. This is now a lesbian bar.

Lakeside Lounge is a great little bar that has been in Oakland for decades! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming! The people are friendly and bartenders are fantastic! I am Piedpiperkj, and I perform at the Lakeside every third Wednesday of the month! The musicians with whom I work, ar Lorenzo Hawkins and Ranzel Merritt. There is also Live blues band every Sunday night, and it is always LIT! There are activities happening Wednesday thru Sunday, something for everyone!

Comfortable atmosphere. Decent music. Friendly and cordial bartender. Friendly and engaging crowd. Had a really good night.

Sometimes they play oldies, sometimes goodies. When the dance floor is full it ain't no stopping. The majority of the crowd is 50 and over. They still have a background photos, it's a Polaroid. The lounge is small.

It appeared to be a Black-Owned business and I was glad to see people patronizing this establishment.

Though it was not what we were expecting. The crowd was dated as well as the dj and the atmosphere. The drinks were so strong as I tasted my friends that it had it be taken back to even it out, which made it worst.

My opinion overall for a bar it's not bad it's very friendly but it's an attraction for younger people now. That part I don't like! I used to go at least once a week.... 3 days ago was the first time I had been there in 6 months due to the younger crowd they are allowing to come in🙄

Need more seating. People should not have to leave EXTRA EXTRA EARLY to get a seat. Just need more space. Bathroom needs updating=refreshing. It would be nice if food was ordered or take out. Like finger food or something. Parking can be difficult if it becomes to overly crowded. Not sure if there are different DJ's but when I went on 2/13/26 the music was ok, but still could have been better, Kool N the gang, Luther, and other Old Skool artists. Don't get me wrong the music wasn't horrible but could improve with more open varieties.

Old School fun; however, there is a new waitress or barback on ( Friday night)older AA woman that is allowed to treat customers like dirt. Extremely nasty attitude. I will not be spending my money there again.
