A Hidden Gem! I recently visited the Merritt station cafe and was genuinely impressed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. I ordered an Avocado Smoothie (green smoothie) and a California Roll (sushi) , and both were absolutely delicious. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve. The staff was super friendly and made me feel right at home. Bonus points for the free Wi-Fi and relaxing background music. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I stopped by Merritt Station Café recently and was pleasantly surprised. Their beef sandwich was tender, flavorful—simple but done right. My friend tried the sushi and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and well-prepared it was for a cafe setting.Great little spot if you're in the area and want something satisfying without the fuss

This is my go-to cafe in Oakland. I am very particular about my coffee, and I go here most every day with my dog, Finn. Best coffee around (and I have tried most of the other coffee purveyors in the area) and a great food selection! Like the previous owners, the new ones are very service oriented and super friendly. They greet me and Finn by name, always with a genuine smile, and are quick to accommodate all their customers. My cappuccino comes consistently just the way I like it. I always feel welcome and valued. I highly recommend.

This is an excellent cafe to study. My favorite part is that there is no music playing! I was able to focus on the work at hand. The chairs are comfy and there's plenty of room to sit. You can also come with a friend and have a conversation. The food is good and the staff is friendly.

What a delightful little cafe. Eclectic atmosphere with couches and plenty of outlets so you can work while you sip your coffee. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and such a great price! They also have a some outdoor seating with umbrellas and plants if you want to relax and watch the city go by.

Came back here today after many years and was pleasantly surprised to see it being run by the same owners fostering the same amazing vibe. I love this place. It’s always quiet and a great place to work or use internet in general. The owners/people who work there are lovely and seem to recognize all the regulars. I love their smoothies and the sushi is yummy and fresh.

I love this welcoming space! The coffees and smoothies are delicious and the new addition of fresh sushi rolls made in-house every day is great! Lots of regulars pop in because they know! Prices are good too. It's a great place to meet up with friends after a walk around the lake or shopping, and weekdays it's a nice calm space for work meetings and coffee. It's easy to walk past it so look for it next time you're on Grand by the gym, or Kume spa!

The two men at the counter were really warm and friendly. My oat latte was alright! No frills cafe. I walked in here from the gym after I realized I needed a boost and didn’t want a nasty energy drink or pre-workout. The medium latte that I got did the job!

Everything is 5 stars, but the only reason it's down a star in total is due to the menu being difficult to find that isn't outdated. I updated it today, April 24th, 2023. The food was delicious, and is always comfy when I go in. There is nothing wrong with this place, and I would recommend 50/10.

I thought I’d support a local coffee shop. I made a very simple order: egg and cheese on a bagel and a coffee. I had to repeat myself three times before I was understood. While I waited, I noted the place has a slightly spooky atmosphere— used furniture, no music, just another patron talking loudly on their speaker phone. The bagel was well over toasted and the sandwich too dry to eat. The coffee tasted like nothing. I won’t make the same mistake twice.
