The food and service was amazing. I don’t want to butcher the young lady who served us but she had long locs. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and her recommendations were on point. I can’t wait to dine in again. The mac and cheese I can still taste it and instead of the banana pudding I wish I would have brought home a side of it. The portions are also great for the price. In my opinion good food is worth the price so it’s definitely worth every penny.

Went for my birthday with my family and definitely wasn’t disappointed the food was amazing and the service was A1(shrimp and grits, also got the mimosa tower). Shout out to Nia she was amazing answered all the questions we had. And also samora(sorry I know that’s probably not her name) but someone in my group left their food she came out and gave it to us. Will definitely be back again

My experience was phenomenal. The crab, mushrooms, and prawns were all delicious. I tasted oxtails from my daughters meal and they were very pleasing to the palette. I will definitely be going back and recommend all to try it out.

My Husband and I decided to try this place out after seeing them on KTVU, FB and IG. Our server was Sydney very Pleasant and professional. The food was AMAZING. Well seasoned. Round of applause to the whole staff..

This place was just what I needed. I had been craving some good food. Particularly some Ox Tails. Y's Choice really hit the spot. The Ox Tails were very flavorful, yams firm and perfectly done, tender turkey wings, the Mac was cheesy and delicious and them crab cakes were off the hook. The greens where average but had a nice bite to them. A little salt and pepper and for sure this as a solid 8. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area or don't mind the drive for a pretty decent meal.

Our party walked in there. There Was no wait I got the oxtails, macaroni and cheese and cabbage.They were all delicious. I tried some of the Turkey wings from one of my family members and that was delicious also i had a peach lemon drop at the bar It was amazing.i definitely will be coming back for the brunch. Keep going are you doing positive things I may your business prosper.

Went here for lunch. The parking is horrible & it was a bit pricey but the food was delicious & good portion size! I bought the chicken, fish, & prawns combo. It was enough for 2 meals! My friend wanted the catfish & garlic noodles but they were out of the garlic noodles. My friend was very disappointed.

My food came out cold the first time so I had to send it back. Second time around...it was delicious...lobster and shrimp was!!! Fried catfish was seasoned great...yummy. Lastly, you have to pay upfront...wow

I love the food and service when I eat in. Unfortunately, my order tonight, the lamb chops had a teardrop of meat on them. However, very flavorful, the rosta pasta with salmon was excellent. Last week, however, my Turkey wings were very disappointing. They were overcooked. And a tad bit scorched on the skin again, as if they had been swarmed over and scraped from the bottom of the pot, not at all. Like my first experience. Lastly, I ordered lunch for my staff, and I and the French fries were very soggy. The Mac and cheese was dried out and not fresh. In and the yams were overcooked. I'm really hoping to recapture. Owners daughter made our first time visit better after I requested a different table. The gentleman at the door, greeted very welcoming also. We also enjoyed the bday event vibe with the games in the room, looked like a lot of fun. But the food, sorry, almost everything was way over salted. We couldn’t finish our food. My favorite that wasn’t over salted was the fish. But, the fries, Rasta pasta and oyster was over seasoned and over salted. Thank you for allowing the review and comments.

The vibe was great. The server had the entire room so it took a while to check on us. By the time he returned my cold fries were already past the point of just heat them a bit. The Hennessy Wings were very heavy and tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce. The Mac n cheese was very, very dry and flavorless. The fish and shrimp were fine.

The food was delicious, the serving staff was professional and courteous. The owner was unprofessional, unprepared and extremely discourteous. Arrived with a large party of 20 for a birthday day celebration. As soon as we arrived the owner went into defense panic mode. Keep in mind, that they would not allow us to make reservations in advance (maybe due to the size of the party) The owner first insisted that 8 of us sit at the bar and the remaining 12 sit at a table next to the bar. There were plenty of vacant seats when we arrived and there was no reason why the party couldn’t have been seated at 3 different tables. As a Hostess, you should never make your customers feel as if they are inconveniencing you. After seating the 8 of us at the bar, the hostess then relocated the 8 of us to another table when we told her we would be asking for separate tabs and she realized that she could not charge us 20% gratuity. She then proceeded to check on every table speaking with the guest except for ours. Several of the people with the party of 8 said they would go back although the service was a little slow but the food was so good. Me personally I will never go back because customer service is everything to me. The owner / hostess should consider hiring a hostess instead of hosting herself because she lacks the experience and temperament to handle unforeseen obstacles. Even as we were leaving and some of the party was thanking her she was telling her other customers how we bombarded her. I was so disappointed in the way we were made to feel by the owner, as if we were not welcomed so despite how good the food was I will not be returning.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE!! The owner standing at the door with a nasty attitude on a busy Saturday night because of a previous table that had just left and she had a problem with, didn’t greet us. Instead stood near our table once we were seated, ease dropping on our conversation. Kept making excuses as to why the service was so poor, why the menu was printed wrong, why the kitchen couldn’t get food out to tables in less than an hr. Instead of helping her over worked kitchen staff, she’s at the host stand with a nasty attitude because it’s a constant repeat of people complaining about the poor service and nasty salty food. This Mac n cheese was so dry, it was like it was sitting all day long but it still took a hr to come out. The turkey gravy tasted like water, the green beans was the best thing on the plate. This place needs to be shut down. The lack of hospitality is unacceptable! People come because they try to support a black owned business but this owner gets no sympathy for the way she talks to customers because she doesn’t know how to run a restaurant.

I had a very disappointing experience last night at Y’s Choice. At first, the atmosphere and music were great, but things quickly went downhill once we were seated. It took about 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us and take our order. After ordering, we waited nearly 45 minutes for our food. During that time, our drinks were never brought to the table and only arrived after the food was finally served. When the food came out, there were no napkins provided. We ordered the fried jumbo prawns with fries, and the server was also late bringing the condiments to the table. My sister ordered a strawberry lemonade, but she was given a regular lemonade instead and was still charged an extra $2 for strawberries that were never added. When it was time to pay, I asked multiple times for my receipt. It took a while to receive it, and when it finally arrived, it was the wrong one. Once I eventually received the correct receipt, I noticed that several items had been overcharged. To make matters worse, we were required to pay before receiving our food. I ended up leaving a $15 tip, but based on the service we received, I truly don’t feel it was deserved. Overall, the service was very poor, and based on this experience, I believe the servers and bussing staff could benefit from additional training.
