Saysetha Thai Cuisine

This is my favorite spot on telegraph waiting out a commute. Food is very tasty and there are vegan options. Local very neighborhood feel spot great prices and service. Very opened minded you see some of everyone here or maybe it is just the diversity of Oakland Berkeley border.

You cannot beat the flavor of the curries at Saysetha! I’ve been going Saysetha for years and I always go for the Panang curry and the yellow curry. Anytime I try a Thai curry somewhere else I am disappointed because Saysetha has set the bar too high. In addition, the man who is always our server is very sweet and friendly.

This place is so good!!! The garlic noodles with prawns are made so well!! Very impressed with the way it tasted and how it was made. The red curry was very flavorful! I asked for it to be made extra spicy and they did not disappoint. The duck noodle soup was also very good. The vegetable fried rice was also excellent. All the food ordered today did not disappoint. I cannot wait to come here again and try the other food. Quick tip: get the Thai fried spring rolls

My favorite food spot in the Bay Area! Staff is so incredibly respectful and honest. I always feel welcome eating here. The food is immaculate and authentic and the atmosphere here is very calm and peaceful. Staff is super responsive to waiting tables. Today ate here with family and we made a mistake on the bill and paid $50 extra, the staff was so honest that they brought it to our attention so that we could correct it. This place will always have my business!

Good food, good price. Super friendly staff. The owner is so kind. We love their summer rolls with mango inside. The sauce is so good. Their yellow chicken curry is thick and full of chicken. Its incredible. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! Easy, quick pick up orders with a small parking lot in the back for convenience.

My favorite Thai spot in my area. Been going here since I was a child. Great atmosphere, the owners are great, food is awesome. Best baked fish ever, clean, fresh & tasty. Always felt this place is underrated. But I can tell you for a fact food is ordered and picked up by doctors & nurses from Alta bates all the time. Good prices too. Love love love ❤️ 😍 💖

The food is just awesome. The green chili sauce I want a gallon of. The lamb was amazing! Fried rice can't be beat, so flavorful, all of what we order, just wonderful Forgot how good this is, will get more often! yet again phenomenal! eggplant, get it!!

One of my favorite Thai restaurants of all time! The family that owns Saysetha is wonderful, and all the food is consistently excellent. My sister and I literally dream of their curries. The fish in their curries is wonderful, so tender. I have a bunch of food allergies, and they're excellent about communicating what dishes they can make gluten-free, soy-free, and egg-free. Great food at a great price, with wonderful service to boot! I go here nearly weekly now.

Wonderful family business and authentic, delicious Thai food! We asked for spice and they were super responsive. The Pad Kee Mow, basil chicken, fried rice, wings, fried fish were all delicious. Air is a lovely host, truly a fresh breath of air! 10/10 would recommended.

Best Thai food in the East Bay -- and I have tried lots of them. Good place to have a quiet dinner: The restaurant is in an area that doesn't get a lot of food traffic, so they're never super busy. They can accommodate gluten-free for most of their dishes.

I had been going to Saysetha for a long time when I went to school in Berkeley. The food tastes just like home in Thailand. I just came back to visit the bay recently and visited the restaurant. The food still tastes awesome. The owner has been there for 36 years and he’s still cooking. The price is also awesome! I highly recommended!

I ordered dessert to go Mango n Sweet sticky rice, Heck Yes, it was absolutely perfect! Sweet salty ratio Mmmm - Go get you some of this Berkeley/Oakland institution since 1986 in your life.

We got the green curry with beef instead of pork. It had broccoli, two squash pieces and a green chili in it. It was good. The sauce was on the thinner side and tasted nice. The meat was good. The staff is so super friendly. Look forward to coming back and trying more dishes!

Vegetables are very fresh and cooked well. The flavor of the sauces and how they season their food is just so good. The food is truly delicious. I can tell there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options but also plenty for the meat lovers. Lots of seafood and even some duck. Ive had the pork, chicken, and beef. All delicious. The yellow curry was amazing. Nothing is too strong. The flavors are strong but balanced. Amazing food.

First time in Oakland and we saw that this place has so many reviews so we decided to try out this spot. The food was delicious. The dishes were so flavorful. It does get very packed but service was awesome. The waiters we're so friendly and attentive even though they were very busy. I would definitely recommend this place.

A party of 7 shared 8 dishes and appetizers and everything was delicious and affordable. Very limited wines but they were happy to let us bring our own. My only concern was the restrooms - not very tidy.

First time here and it was pretty decent. It looked like a Berkeley staple/institution. I noticed powder on my noodles, so it dawned on me that they sprinkle this spice on... Nothing wrong with that, but I just always thought it was soy sauce and spices, just not granulated powder... (Look closely at my pic to the right)

I have no idea how this place gets 4+ stars. It's overwhelming characteristic is, simply, sweetness. Dishes lack depth of flavor, spice, and interesting and/or nice ingredients. I would expect this quality of Thai food in small towns/cities but not in an area renown for it's food. I am sure the owners are very nice, but as a neighbor, I will be happy the day is replaced with a new restaurant. We deserve better. If you're in the hood: Go next door for burgers (with a Korean twist) instead.
