Sushi Park is a family-run restaurant loved for its fresh, large rolls and attentive service. Customers rave about the friendly staff who treat regulars like family. The Dragon roll is very popular, but some find the special rolls overwhelming in one visit.

Opinions de Sushi Park Oakland
Favorite sushi place in the east bay. Fantasy roll is SO good, owners are super friendly, plus you occasionally get a free bottle of sake (and if not, just pick one up at the bodega next door!)
I usually don't leave a review unless I truly believe there was something exceptional (good or bad) about the place. This little, unassuming, sushiya is simply amazing. The service was so attentive and went above and beyond what you'd usually expect (thank you for the plum wine for us and ice cream for the kids!) and the sushi itself was really good and very well prepared. I honestly didn't expect much when we walked in (I was hungry, that I can readily admit) but the place was such a gem and I'm so happy we stopped by. Looking forward to doing it again soon!
We just LOVE Sushi Park! It's a small, family-run spot with some of our favorite sushi rolls in all of Oakland. The sushi isn't just delicious, it's presented BEAUTIFULLY. We are officially loyal customers. :-)
My family and I have been coming to Sushi Park for the past 7 years since we moved into the Glenview neighborhood in Oakland. This small, family-run restaurant is one of our favorite dinner spots. The staff is always so kind and attentive, and the variety of speciality rolls are great, and everyone in our family has their own favorites, ranging from advocado and cucumber rolls and salmon sashimi for my son, and spicy tuna, spicy geishi, tempura rolls and so many others for my wife and I. We also appreciate the plum wine for us and ice cream for our soon. Always such a wonderful neighborhood spot - whether we dine in or takeaway. ♿️ Sushi Park also has an accessible entrance, accessible seating, and an accessible restroom. Parking can be tough on Park at times.
This is one of the best sushi places I’ve been to! They are super generous with their fish and the rolls are huge! I definitely recommend this place!
I have been coming to eat here since 2013. It's been a staple for me and my family and I always bring out of town guests to enjoy the amazing rolls!
Casual but welcoming vibe; fresh, delicious, numerous menu choices presented attractively; friendly and attentive service. Fabulous Goyza. A delightful dinner experience. Looking forward to returning again soon!🙂
We've been going to Sushi Park for over 15 years and somehow they just get better and better, which is amazing since they've always incredible! We adore the staff and love all the beautifully created and delicious sushi.
Definitely our favorite sushi in the East Bay. Very fresh and always extremely nice staff. It's not the fanciest place, but it has consistently the best fish. I just stopped in a couple nights ago for a take-out order and they had gift wrapped a bottle of sake for me as a gift. I don't know if they knew we were regulars, or whether they were doing that for everyone during the holidays, but it's not the first time it's happened. Amazing people and business.
I've tried about a dozen sushi places in the Bay Area, and this little spot in my neighborhood is still my favorite. The fish is always delicious, the rolls are creative and well executed, and the service is friendly and efficient. I go about 3x/month and have only had great experiences.
The staff are friendly, the food is lovely and the service time is quick!
Just got takeout from here this evening. Incredibly warm and welcoming staff and very nice quality sushi. Yum!!! So happy to have this place close to my mom’s house will definitely be back! Do recommend!
Chef Andy and his service crew were/are still top notch (which we all know is rare in the food industry after Covid 2020). Probably one of the few restaurants left that is always worth the money. Honestly, the prices are fair once your try the menu (topped out with exquisite ingredients). This place continues to be a family and friends "favorite" so share with people you won't mind bumping into.
This little sushi restaurant does a lovely assortment of rolls, especially for weirdos like me who live for shellfish but not the traditional scale fish, like tuna and salmon. The Fuji mountain rolls are a particular favorite!
I have always loved the place. It's been my fav spot in the Easy Bay for years. But, it still also has a local feel with great staff and fast prep. And, I rarely have to wait for a seat. Every time I take an out-of-town guest there they are blown away.
A delightful, local neighborhood standard. Beautifully composed dishes, perfect textures and flavors, and all in the perfect cozy location. Very much the stick against which all other Japanese restaurants should be measured.
Truly excellent place that has been here in the neighborhood forever. We've been coming here or getting orders togo for a decade and it's been the same folks running it the whole time and they are superb. 2025 update - still going strong. great food and great service!
This place is my favorite sushi restaurant. I've been to so many throughout Oakland, and not only does Sushi Park's quality surpass every place I've been to, but their prices do as well. I've been a regular for nearly two years now. Chef Andy and his team are amazing, and while service may be a little slow when they're packed, it's always worth the wait. Everything I've tried has been fantastic, and they even have gluten free Tamari sauce for us gluten free people! Take out or dine in, Sushi Park is my favorite place for lunch and dinner. Try the Lion King roll-- it's baked and delicious! And the picky eaters will love their teriyaki: the beef, chicken and salmon are all fantastic. I really can't come up with enough good things to say about this restaurant. I've made all my friends try it, and it's become their instant favorite. All of the stars and both thumbs up to the Sushi Park team!
Super amazing sushi! Ordered chirashi, unagi (eel) don and a couple rolls. Everything tasted amazing. Sashimi pieces in the chirashi tasted super fresh. Pretty reasonable price for the quality. Real crab in the California rolls is def a step up. Highly recommend, 10/10 experience.
I love this place! Best Sushi in Oakland! Make sure to try the firecracker balls --yum! Also if you order "make your own roll" and ask for whatever Chief Andy wants to make you are sure to get something supper taste!
This place is the best place to come and eat sushi. It's a nice atmosphere and the customer service is excellent. I am very very much satisfied after eating at this place for the first time ever. Thank you so much I think everyone should try this place to see what I'm talking about. I'll be back 100%
if only yelp had a 10 star rating... I would give it that. First time me and my bf came here was on valentine day this year and we ordered passion, surf and turf and etc... it was really tasty with a good amount of sauce just how I like my sushi! They have a really friendly staff here with great service and makes sure you are ok. Definitely a go to sushi spot in oakland!
Sashimi Moriawase platter was great for two people to share and enjoy a wide variety of sashimi. Butter fish was amazing and pickled daikon so refreshing!
I have been going to Sushi Park for 15 years since the first month they opened. This is my go to sushi spot throughout the entire Bay Area. I've tried countless other restaurants over the years and still feel nothing else compares to Sushi Park. The quality of fish is outstanding. Each roll, sauce, and arrangement is created by the staff. The service has always been amazing as well. They come to check on you regularly to get refills of water even when they are crowded. The head sushi chef Andy is also an amazing artist. He did the two paintings on the right wall as you come in!! I will be going to this restaurant for the rest of my life. I go there for every birthday and special occasion. If you need recommendations for starters I highly recommend the fried calamari, tempura mushroom, or/and salmon belly. For Rolls I recommend the Double Sake, Samurai, Firecracker Ball, and Shiki. For Vegetarians the fried mushroom starter is amazing as well as the veggie veggie and veggie tempura rolls.
Truly thee best sushi in the east bay 🧡✨Incredible service and hospitality.
Sushi Park never disappoints. This neighborhood gem has an extensive menu and something for everyone. The roll selection is incredible. Service is friendly and efficient.
Delicious! I was surprised by how much I loved the asparagus inside of my "Passion" roll. And I appreciated the tea refill and gluten-free soy sauce.
The chicken scewer was really good!!!!!

We’ve been eating here for years, and the fish is always fresh and expertly prepared. We especially love the Fire Cracker Ball, Joy Roll, and Spicy Geisha Roll. Additionally, the staff is exceedingly kind. A great place to dine in or take out.
Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Oakland. Great service, generous portions, fresh and absolutely delicious! GF and I shared the tempura appetizer and the Ichiban and Spicy Geisha rolls. Plenty of food for two people. Highly recommend!
Quaint, small business. Nice and reliable service. Big portions, fresh fish, great flavor. My only caution would be trying too many of the special rolls in the same visit. The special rolls are great, exciting, tasty, offering new combinations that you do not see on other sushi menus. However, they are complex and have multiple flavor layers which can cause the pallet to lose the essence of the simplicity of enjoying sushi for the flavor of simply raw fish.
Such a cute spot, & everyone here is always so friendly! The food is always yummy.
Sushi Park is the most incredible sushi restaurant I've ever been to!! The staff is incredibly friendly, and my boyfriend (who has been going since they opened) treat us like family. They are the sweetest people who make the most delicious, mouth-watering sushi + food in general. Everything we've had from Sushi Park has been a hit with us. You can feel the love & care emanating from the food, the staff, and the restaurant as a whole. The specialty rolls are perfection; and the tempura mushrooms, seaweed salad, calamari, & tempura salmon belly are our favorite appetizers to order. 💛💛💛 Thank you for everything, Sushi Park!! 💌
This is one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been. The food and service was amazing and I could barely walk after eating so much. Definitely a must try if you’re in Oakland/SF!
Stopped by after being picked up from OAK and so glad that I did! The Spicy Hamachi sashimi and the Maguro Fever roll were delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere was comfortable and peaceful. Will definitely come back!
So good! Second time here. Rolls are large and very fresh! Love the Double Sake salmon roll. Everyone seemed to be ordering the Dragon roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, jalapeño, eel, …) - waitress said it is the most popular. Definitely coming back soon to try that one soon
My husband and I really loved eating at Sushi Park! We had a couple of specialty rolls, gyoza, and sake, and all of it was amazing. The food and drinks tasted wonderful, the waitress was quick and friendly (and made a great suggestion when I couldn't decide what I wanted), and the atmosphere was cozy. The restaurant was clean and didn't smell fishy. I would highly recommend it!

sushi in a nice friendly setting. I will be back to try more!!!! Although I didn't feel like a regular I will be back to see what's next..... Ok, my second visit and the firecracker roll is ok and the Lion King roll seems to be small but tasted very good. Now that I have eaten here on two occasions I can say its a good spot for Sushi Fix!!!
Again, sushi is my first love. I never pass up the opportunity for sushi - like NEVER. I was super craving it and my friend has suggested this spot. Nice intimate quiet space in a quiet neighborhood. Easy enough to get seating. Quiet enough space to where you can actually enjoy a conversation with your dining partner(s). My dining date and I ordered a sashimi combo, spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer and seaweed salad. Everything was good and pretty fresh. Prices were reasonable. Service was good. A winner in my book!
Quick service. Unique rolls and you can design your own roll. A lot of cooked roll options so a good place for people who don't like sushi and want their fish cooked. Fresh fish, only thing is the portion size is a little smaller than other places.
Very good sushi. My favorite places for sushi plus they use regular rice instead of sushi rice due to my dietary needs👍 staff/chefs are great, very friendly. Parking can. often be difficult at times.
We used to live near this restaurant, and it was our go-to place. Was passing through the area, we were hungry, and it was open. It did not disappoint us, same excellent food and service we remembered. All the food we had was fresh, clean tasting. Wish we didn't live an hour away.
Finding great sushi is always an adventurous journey… While Sushi Park didn’t quite hit the mark, I can’t rave enough about the service! The ladies who work here are so nice and are very attentive to all of their guests. My twin boys (4) were treated so well and were even given a belated birthday Mango Mochi Ice Cream. So while the food wasn’t the highlight, it does not mean it wasn’t good, it was decent. Based on food alone, it’s a solid 6.5/10, but when you factor in the staff, I’d give them a 8.5/10, with the staff as the highlight!

Average. No a/c, as many small eateries in Oakland. Saving energy vs comfort of dining. The weather in San Francisco cool, a/c isn’t really necessary. Food is average as well. The neighborhood feels calm and neat but is there is a bullet at the store next door?
Update: Still so-so for me Not bad but nothing to write home about. My Amaebi head was not crispy enough. In fact, it was downright chewy. The Maguro Sashimi and the rest of the sushi were pretty fresh.

My classmates and I used to go to the on-campus spot at 1503 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR 97201, which has since closed, for tuna and salmon sushi. The flavor was great, but sushi never quite fills me up, so I’d always end up wanting more. The place had a relaxed vibe, brightly lit space, and a mix of raw fish and cooked Japanese dishes.

The waitress was very pleasant but she forgot one of our rolls.. Then when we asked for the check she went and yelled at the sushi chef and brought it to us with our check. Food was a 2 out of 5. Also, she sat us in the window seat and my fat butt was not comfortable. There were like 6 open tables and she sat us at the one with the least room. Not somewhere I'd go again.
The service here was quite nice, but I found the quality of the fish to be unacceptable. For context, I prefer nigiri and hand rolls. Those who prefer elaborate rolls may have a better experience, I cannot say. But my fish was mangled and not fresh, and the sauce on the unagi was goopy and way too sweet. My kids loved this place, getting breaded chicken cutlets. The free ice cream at the end sent them over the moon. But despite that, I would not return and order sushi.
Overcooked mushy rice on my roll…should have checked it before leaving but needed to grab lunch quickly and head to work. I ended up peeling all the rice off…
