My favorite local brewery. And my husband’s, friends’, dog’s, and even my baby’s favorite place to hang out any day of the week. Why? The staff is friendly and always open to a good conversation. There are great spaces to sit at the bar or grab a table to play a game with a group of people. And of course, the beer is amazing. I’m a sucker for their pilsners, pale ales, and trying out whatever they have newly available. Go with friends, on a date, for their trivia nights, or just by yourself with a good book on a Sunday. You won’t regret it.

I've just returned to New Zealand and took one of these beers back with me from a bay area visit. OMG I'm the biggest fan of WCIPA style and the sphere of eternity is up there with Pliny the elder as the best in class. So impressed and if I could find a way of importing I would happily pay anything for more of it. I need to find an excuse to come back. Love and respect. Kevin

Quality craft brewery with a variety of tasty beverages. I really enjoyed the pale ale, the IPA, and the dunkel. This spot is just getting started but so far the quality is there and I’m excited to see what the future brings. Tenma is pouring more challenging and less forgiving brews that pair very nicely with the sushi from across the street. They’ve got a hazy, 3 west coasts and double IPA on tap plus a few lagers, pale ales and red ale. Every beer I’ve had has been above average. They’ve got some pretty sweet tunes and I asked the staff if they’d play a few favorites for me - wasn’t an issue.

4.5 but a rounding error yields 5. New owners and all new brews and the loc is at the previous Novel Brewery facility. 7 fermenters and 7 brews-which is great utilization! 3 are IPAs I enjoyed the Finally Found a Place IPA with Pineapple Hops. This is a block from my apartment so I got that going for me-ref. CaddyShack.

Warm, pet-friendly bar with amicable staff and some of the best bar trivia in the east bay. Even after moving out of the neighborhood, I go out of my way to go back here and try whatever new is on tap—I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by one of their brews.

Chill Friday with great staff and patrons. I love a Pilsner on a warmer day and they had five on tap!! I was hella excited because it’s rare for a brewery to have so many pilsners on tap. Really great options all around. Dana was very warm and welcoming.

Tasty beer and cozy vibes, PLUS, you won't find a brewery with a kinder/ better informed bar staff. Their beer is always interesting, thoughtfully crafted and they have a GREAT lager selection in addition to their good IPAs. A very pleasant experience, I always end up staying for longer than I expect because I'm enjoying chatting. They have board games, lots of seating, and wifi too.

Best beer in the bay right now

As someone who has had a lot of beer in my life, the beer here is incredible quality. Especially right after opening. And as a DJ, I really enjoy the music selection. House music at a brewery is unheard of and amazing! Great vibe and great beer. What more could you ask for?

I liked the rice lager so much that I got a 4 pack to bring home! I'm really happy my girlfriend and I decided to stop in on a whim because I really enjoyed my stop at Tenma... The music was also great!

I was craving some craft beer and decided to give this place a try. Most of the on-tap draft beer they were serving was pilsner, hoppy IPA, and lager. I got a flight of four beers, and they tasted alright.
