This place is so cool, very industrial. I just bought a groupon (I know so yesterday) for them. I've been driving past for years, trying to see if they were still open. So I'm thrill they are still in business. They really need to get a better sign. That said, the food is very good and not the usual fare. I really like the spring rolls with the green dip. And the atmosphere is cool also, reminds me of a cafeteria hidden away in a factory somewhere.

I really liked this place. The best Thai Food I have eaten since coming back from Thailand. I also liked the staff. Cute and friendly. The meal was served quickly despite the hectic pace of the restaurant. They seemed to have many delivery orders. The restaurant is in a rather strange old industrial building. Which could turn people off. But I would recommend giving it a try.

Delicious, high quality, fresh vegetables, spices, and meats - comfortable, home-style atmosphere, informal living room style with sofas and furnished warehouse feel - beautiful rose garden deck, small outdoor dining area. Quick service and delicious appetizers, Fried Spring Roll and Calamari. Unusual industrial neighborhood and DSP right at the end of the street.

Delicious food at very affordable prices and with a lot of variety. The space is very homey and unassuming, but the serving sizes are formidable and the staff extremely friendly. It's very easy to become a regular with their specials! And their drinks are fantastic.

Excellent food tucked away in a quaint little spot. Highly recommend the entree #1 - super tasty bbq chicken, green papaya salad, sticky rice in a bamboo basket. awesome food and such a little gem. in a pretty shady part of town but it's definitely worth the trip!

Nice people. Eccentric location. No trouble getting vegan food that I seemed both by taste and discussion truly vegan (no fish or oyster sauce). Food was pretty sweet as it often is Thai restaurants.

Hidden Gem!!! Excellent food I would have never thought to find here. Family operated. "Mom" is the cook and she knows her stuff!! Somewhat difficult to find, nested in the back of an alley, so take an extra minute to look for it. Do not expect a fancy place. This is no frills but VERY good food. I'd come back anytime

The food was GREAT and people working there are very friendly. The location is a bit sketchy (I came there late in the evening and was surprised to find this restuarant in such a place where there is bunch of automotive shops and other businesses), but did not feel any danger, etc... The place it self is not an elegant or fancy place, but it has a small town mom and pop shop feeling and I personally tought it was very unique experience. I loved the food and my experience was good. I would have given 5 stars, but because of the location, I figured 4 stars might be more appropriate.

Nice staff, giant Thai tea's, average menu. Feels like they only make 5-10 meals a day so they always cook to order, which is nice. There's a cute little garden patio nearby. Although we usually grab to go.

We had high hopes. However, there was a missing an item from our order. Portion size was small. Soup was great. Peanut sauce was a bit bland. We paid $49 for what worth $25. We will not return.

The food was good, but the inside smelled like cigarette smoke. Also, be careful with the service—they suggested a side of rice for the curry but didn't mention it was an extra charge until the bill arrived.

I ordered Vulcan Thai Cafe via DoorDash on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. I ordered their pineapple fried rice dish which contained spoiled and smelly shrimp. I also ordered their mango and sticky rice dish, which was completely spoiled and rancid. The food in that dish had clearly been sitting in it's container for a very long time. I immediately reported the issue to DoorDash and noticed that other customers had recently submitted comments reporting similar issues after receiving spoiled food, also. Unfortunately, I consumed a small portion of the fried rice before I realized that the shrimp it contained was spoiled. However, that was enough to make me sick for the next day and a half. Vulcan Thai Cafe has issues with food safety that need to be addressed immediately!

Sub par to put it nicely. Canned string beans, mystery meat chicken, with too many onions and grease. The fresh spring rolls that were supposed to have shrimp were just filled with lettuce and basil. There was supposed to be peanuts, but there weren’t any. And no peanut sauce. It came with a weird oily vinaigrette. Not any kind of Thai food that I’ve ever had. It was more like really bad Chinese food. Do yourself a favor and cross this place off your list. Don’t waste your money.

If I could give 0 stars I surely would. While eating my red curry I thought I saw a roach floating in it. I immediately jumped up in disgust & placed it on a napkin to be sure that's what it was. It was indeed a roach! I posted the image, feel free to look. Please do not eat here if you like your food to be sanitary!

It is Oakland - There are many other better options. Ordering experience: 1. Made my order over the phone and was told food will be ready in ten minutes and be there by then. 2. Even though he takes credit card, the owner of a one man shop insisted I pay in cash once he saw a few bills in my wallet. I said I need the cash and he kept insisting I give him some cash and pay some on my card - LOL - I called in the order to support local biz by not using the menu app. 3. Right after signing the reciept, he says, okay, give me 10 minutes to cook your food. Ha - so I guess he didn't trust my phone order which he got wrong and over charged me for anyways. Quality Summary: -WASTE OF MY TIME -PAD SEE-EW - very very meh (it is not my fav dish anyways) -CRAB FRIED RICE: very meh - not the worst but close to one of the worst -GREEN AND PANANG CURRY was watery - Both Curry Dishes were funny colored, meat was rubber, and not creamy at all -SHRIMP ROLLS - Never even made it into my bag even though I asked multiple times if everyting was in there. -SICK FACTOR - Hopefully I don't get sick now 🤭

On July 18,2020 I ordered one chicken curry and within two hours I had diarrhea and was vomiting. I never have experienced horrible stomach aches and sweats like I did until after I ate this food. For your own health and safety do not eat here.

Literally the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. The red curry had a weird stink to it which made it inedible, and they had my order wrong. Gave me a chicken entree while the description said vegetarian. Very disappointed and frustrated!

The fried rice has no eggs, no sauce and no flavor. Just rice. The pad Thai was similar. No eggs, no tofu, and nothing more. Just noodles. Like I said, we tried and now it’s time to move on. Good luck with you if you’re planning on ordering here.

I reported this to grubhub and the restaurant owner called me. Her apology wasn't professional, she called me that I'm the bad customer. I'm posting a photo of the mold on the fish cake.

The fried rice has no eggs, no sauce and no flavor. Just rice. The pad Thai was similar. No eggs, no tofu, and nothing more. Just noodles. Like I said, we tried and now it’s time to move on. ~I was hoping 2 find a decent late-night Thai Restaurant this side of the Bay, & unfortunately, this ain't it. I probably should have called, yet miscommunications seem 2/Ɓ the standard in these situations. I placed my order directly thrū their website, & was told it would Ɓ/40min Ɓ/4 it was ready. Which is absurd 4 what I ordered; A Fresh Roll, Cucumber Salad, & Salmon Panang Curry. They bagged all 3 together, & let it sit. The recommended time was completely off. The fact that they lock the gate so you cannot approach & communicate really is a detriment all around. I understand why, the neighborhood & all. It's just not that great of a set'⬆️. Maybe it's better 4 dining in🤷 Ordering pick'⬆️, @ least in my experience, was a complete disappointment. If they cannot comprehend keeping cold items away from hot items 4 pick'⬆️, I do not imagine delivery would Ɓ much better🤦~
