In the evenings, the vibe shifts into something even more special. The mezcal honestly the best I’ve tried in the area comes from local producers and carries a magical ancestral touch. Prices are fair, the atmosphere is warm, and the nights are filled with community moments: open mics, drink-and-draw sessions, or just a guitar and beautiful souls expressing themselves. If you’re in Mazunte, Panchatantra is an absolute must. A rare place where community truly comes before profit where people aren’t afraid to come closer, talk, connect, discover, and share. Panchatantra is one of those spaces that reminds you what human warmth feels like.

The kombucha is Devine! And I just love the music and chill vibe at this cafe. I’m not sure how it was before it changed the owners, but right now it’s a great place for an afternoon rest. They also organise evenings with live music, open mic and other cultural events.

I absolutely love this café and in my time living in Mazunte I visited on countless occasions. This is a lovely, cozy bohemian nook with such good vibes right in the heart of magical Mazunte. You can have high quality coffee or golden milk with a tasty pastry while you read, study (there is good WiFi here!) or practice an instrument. You can enjoy fascinating conversation with colorful characters from near and far while sipping on a kombucha or mezcal and listening to some excellent music - an experience that, for me, is reminiscent of late night cultural cafés in historic Paris, New York and Mexico City. A few nights a week you can sit back and enjoy the diverse talents and experimentation of the creatives who come for open mic, jam session or a concert... Or if you are feeling brave, you can jump up and perform on the mic and free your own inner artist with the raucous support of a loving, ever generous audience!

The best turmeric milk (golden milk) in Mazunte! Super beautiful and relaxing music playing in the cafe, you can lounge on the sofas and there’s so many books they have to choose from! The owner, Kris played Chess with me and taught me how to play! Thank you 🙏 also you must try their ginger cake, it was soo delicious. 🤤

Panchatantra is a sweet spot in Mazunte, one of those gems you have to search a little for but when you find it, it is like a breath of fresh air, with a relaxed and chill vibe and very welcoming creative feel to it. I had a great oat latte that reminded me of being at home in NZ and tried my friends delicious cake.
