What an amazingggg view with such kind and friendly staff. My experience was so delightful. I went for my first Valentine’s dinner solo and staff were so hospitable and friendly. My food was amazing and reasonably priced. My server Ms. Katie got me whatever I needed and even offered to take my picture for me. I really appreciated the detail of Ms. Jackie who went to each table to welcome guests and ask us about our nite. It felt like I was on a fancy cruise where the Captain goes around to each table to speak with guests. Mr. Brad came by to make sure I was taken care of and the Hostess at the front was so respectful and friendly. I highly recommend based on customer service alone and will return but next time in the a.m. to catch the sun coming up over the HORIZON 🤣☺️👏. It was a lovely view at night too right before sunset. Great spot!
Excellent food and beautiful atmosphere. My family ate at the Buffett which is top notch food all prepared to perfection. I have food allergies and so I ordered off of the menu. They were very accommodating and the meal was delicious. I had gluten free crab cakes with a baked potato and steamed seasonal vegetables. The menu is a bit pricey but the buffet at $35 per adult is well worth it.
The best meal always and for ever love those off season prices 5 to 7 50 percentage off menu dinner And 50 percent off steak dinners Til 9 or 10pm at least on Thursday nights Thank you mr lenny!!!
A very nice place for Sunday brunch. A fresh, well maintained breakfast buffet and a made-to-order omelette and Belgian waffle station. Great coffee - so important! Try to get an ocean view table.
Only had the breakfast buffet and it was awesome. Omelets and waffles made fresh. Couldn't beat it especially for the price.
Dinner and a show, the kids had a blast. Oh yeah food and service was great too😎
I came alone for breakfast the place is nice great inside open space view of the ocean services was great. Breakfast was delicious as well.
Breakfast Buffett was good and fresh decent selection n the price was reasonable
A little hard to find. Go to front desk of Clarion. Awesome breakfast. Waitress is funny.
Breakfast is a great deal friendly staff stunning View
Great buffet, had a lot of different things to keep everyone including the kids happy. Pasta station is always a hit with our family. Crab legs were sweet and the prime rib was great. To many options to list but everything thing we had was good. Worth the visit.
My husband, teenager and grade schooler had breakfast here. Everyone was able to find something to eat they thoroughly enjoyed off of the menu (no buffet due to covid) and we had a beautiful view of the Ocean for our meal as a wonderful bonus. Lovely place, affordable breakfast and kind staff. We will be back.
They give you a lot of food for the money. We had breakfast there and for three of us it was right around $32. The waitress was very friendly and very prompt. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you want a good home cooked meal this is the place to go.
The best experience I've had in a long time! The band was just awesome. The manager came over asked if thongs were going well. They treat you right for an Anniversary!
First time at the restaurant today. Good food, very reasonable prices, originally there earlier in 2022 just after it became Fountainbleu food wasn't good in June. However, when there from 11/18-11/20 for a conference, service has drastically improved, also kudos to server Kia for helping me carry food to my table during the Sunday morning buffet!
My family loved it. The dining area, the table settings, the amazing view of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows - everything leads to a fine dining experience. The menu was varied enough to cater to everyone's tastes, and even the run-of-the-mill entrees like fried chicken or steak were very well done; the seafood dishes were superb. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful, and the manager came by twice to make sure everything was satisfactory. The prices are quite a bit higher than you find at chain restaurants, but the variety of dishes available was well worth the price.
We had dinner at the horizon and Ocean City, they atmosphere as exceptionally beautiful talk to the owner wonderful to talk to. Our waitress was extremely nice. Our food was good we wanted steamed crabs but it was out of season right now so we got Alaskan crab legs. Very pricey $40 a pound I wasn't too happy about them even though they were a little tasty. But if you like Alaskan crab legs you need to stop in the horizon if you're in Ocean City. Happy holidays
We always go to this restaurant for their breakfast buffet every time we visit ocean city. The food is great that is a given. The atmosphere is pleasant, restaurant is clean, and all employees are respectful of each person they are waiting on, including the buffet area. We have no idea what their dinner is like, but if it is anything like their breakfast it has to be devine.
Horizons has been a family tradition for us on Christmas for twenty years. This year, they definitely improved the quality of the food. EVERYTHING was better. What was good became excellent. There was nothing bad on the buffet. The service is always good. I love the breakfast buffet too but haven't made it there in years. .
My family had the pleasure of being served two nights in a row by the same person Alisa G., and she was professional, nice, had positive suggestions of menu and a very positive attitude. She is a true example of "above and beyond ". She is management quality, and should be training new hires. The food was excellent, but the service was even better. If we are in the area, we are dinning here.
Price is in line with other buffets in area. They do not have the quanity of options that other places have yet they more than made up for it with the quality of food. Everything we tried was cooked perfectly. By far they had the best crab legs and seafood out of the 6 different places we ate at. Dining atmosphere is more upscale than any of the other places yet price is competitive. Wish we went here sooner in the week as we would have ate here again.
Our waiter was super friendly and accommodating. Food was a bit slow coming out. I had the shrimp and crab legs. Shrimp was delicious and warm. Crab legs were good but barely luke warm. Another person in my party got a grilled chicken salad that was warm. I work in the industry and understand though. 🤷🏼♀️
My new husband and I went to Horizons on October 5th for dinner. We arrived just at opening time (5 pm) and were seated with a window view. We had specials which were 1) shrimp and scallops in a pesto sauce and 2)3 shrimp stuffed with imperial crab + baked potato and grilled asparagus. Hot rolls preceded the meal. Food was served hot and tasted very good. We will return and highly recommend this location. No reservations required.
We were here for the Saturday breakfast buffet. It was good value for the money. The omelets were really great. There was furthermore a good choice of food...only not all hot. The fruits were fresh and tasty...Waffel Sand pancakes could have been better. Service was good.
A mainstay in Ocean City, has three bars, lots of space, live music, always has been a fun place with good food.
Impeccable service and delicious food. Four in our party had the buffet, two adding crab legs. Legs were larger than other buffers in town and are directly brought to your table by the server. Food on the buffet was plentiful and piping hot, a carving station for ham and Prime rib available, and the Prime was fantastic, from seasoning to tenderness. Crab dip was creamy, full of crab and delicious, and crabcakes had hardly any filler. Our family seems to have found a new spot, one where I can get them to wear the dressier clothes other than shorts/jeans and t-shirts.
This place is great! The ambiance is very classy for a buffet setting. The price is about the same as other buffets in the area. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very nice and attentive. The crab legs, prime rib, and pasta bar were delicious and everything was perfectly cooked. Plenty of options for everyone, not just us seafood lovers. The reason why I only gave 4 stars (I would have given 4.5 if I could) is due to the fact that they didn't have any warm steamed shrimp on the buffet, they only had seasoned chilled ones. Definitely will be going back regardless.
Overall experience was good. The food came in a timely fashion but on the particular night we were there it seems that the waitresses were having a hard time keeping track of which table ordered what and just overall looked lost. Very convenient spot for dinner if you are staying at Fontainebleau.
They have good food but If you are going for the buffet it is not worth it. now overpriced compared to other local places. Over the past two years they have significantly cut back on what they offer while jumping the price to $50 a plate. With a $50 they offer no drinks. The last time we were in the service was horrible. Overall they still do have good quality food but so do others for a lot less.
Visiting ocmd for vacation and really wanted ayce crab legs. There was eight of us and not everyone wanted the buffet. So on a plus side horizons does allow for menu ordering while others at the table are ordering the buffet. So to start it's like 45$ pp which I think i as too much for this buffet. I'm not a big buffet eater but I have been to plenty in my day, many at casinos in Atlantic city and Vegas and those buffets demolish this one. I think a fair price to pay would be around $30 not 45. Wife ordered crab cakes which came out burnt. So even though she didn't want to send them back I did. Their waitress even said that she asked the cook if they were suppose to look like that and told us that the chef said that as long as they are soft in the middle then they're fine. She should of said that she wasn't gonna take them and to make new ones. Oh well not gonna cry over spilled milk. She was nice brought out more my wife didn't want then at that point and then she removed them off the bill. Crabs were OK, they were kinda dry and the buffet was a grade higher than the Chinese buffet food that you can get for $15. So I wouldn't go back.
We stayed in the hotel so this was convenient in the morning for breakfast. We tried it for dinner one night as well. 3 adults and 3 kids. Our first experience was wonderful. The service was phenomenal. The women who took care of us was full of energy and was interacting with not only us but also our kids. She was funny and outgoing. She also made sure we constantly had enough drink, napkins and so on. She even got our daughter PBJ during breakfast hours! My omelet was delicious and cooked to perfection. We decided to go here for dinner the same night because the prices weren't that bad and the service was wonderful. We were really let down.. we waited for over an hour to get our food.. we barely got waited on.. the women that was taking care of us wasn't as attentive.. the wait time was just unreal and they didn't let us know. The manager wasn't walking around to let us know what was going on. It was just overall a bad way to end the night. The food, we got a lot of it so that was a plus but it wasn't worth the wait time. Our second breakfast wasn't as good but it was still okay. The woman who took care of us seemed like she was new. She would forget things and have to make another trip. My omelet wasn't as good but it was still decent. They also included the tip in the price during this meal. We always leave 15% or 20% in cash so I wasn't a fan of this and it was the last time we went here to eat.. So id say go for breakfast and skip the dinner unless you are okay with waiting over an hour to get your food. The earlier you are there the better, once everyone starts waking up it does get backed up in there.
After calling 21 places asking if they'd accommodate a large party, horizons said yes. We arrived for our reservation and were pleased with the service because they had water and high chairs at our seats followed by delicious warm rolls with butter. We explained how we were splitting the check and proceeded with ordering both our appetizers and meals. We requested the kids meals come out as soon as they were done. After an hour, we asked how long it would take because the children in our party were getting irritable and were starving. Multiple times we were told soon until after another half hour went by and by this time the adults were extremely irritated. At this time, the waitress proceeded to tell us that the kitchen was supplying the 2 restaurants outside, beach orders, take out AND this restaurant and that they were short staffed and an hour wait is "typical" from the time you sit down until you get your food. We watched tables get sat, eat, and leave before we had appetizers or kids meals. Finally when the rest of the food arrived, which was at 2 hours and 15 minutes from the time we sat, all of our entrees and appetizers arrived together and we were beyond aggravated. They did not remove the appetizers which got wasted because we didn't want our meals to get cold. We ate as fast as we could so we could pay the bill and get the kids home to bed. This was one of the worst experiences dining in Ocean City that I've ever had. The ONLY reason I provided 3 stars is because the food was honestly delicious! We all got something different and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though we were tired and angry by the time it arrived. My suggestion is to NOT go here with a party bigger than 5 or 6
Crab legs excellent! Price per person $45. Buffet needs to be reorganized to keep line moving. Made to order pasta needs to be moved out of the line and placed separately. Prime rib was extremely rare. Salad selections limited as well as vegetables.
The prime roast beef was the only thing that was good. The soup had way to much salt and the crab legs were dry and hard to pick. The server was very nice but when you come for crab legs and pay $44 dollars a head it should be good. Don’t waste your money here.
Very disappointed on my last visit. Never got a waiter but it was a buffet so we dealt. We did want coffee and tea but settled for orange juice. Food is usually top notch but items were cold and scrapple was mushy. Someone came over to ask how everything was and we let them know we had no waiter. He blamed a host of other people and then quickly brought us our check. There were 3 of us and he charged us for 2 so we thought it was for our inconvenience. Nope! The gall...he came back and said he didn't know it was 3 of us and changed the check. We were insulted. No apology or gesture of good will. And we found out that this man was the manager!!! No class!
Just left the 'special mothers day buffet. Could not have been too much more disappointed. We have gone to Horizons every time we have been in the area. Always had crab. Not so today. I guess the disappointment is partially the fault of my kids for not asking. They wanted to surprise me and, since we have never been there without the crab offered, they made a bad assumption thinking it would be there. When we asked about it the manager was very curt ans left a lasting impression on me regarding how much the value both their customers and their opinions. The quality of the food on the beach uffet was marginal, at best. There were items that ran out and were not replaced promptly. In fact, we were on dessert by the time it was refilled. I was very glad no one asked me how I enjoyed my meal and dining experience. We will not be returning again. Not because of the absence of king crab but because of the manager's lack of professionalism and the quality of the food that was on the buffet. On a positive note, the view is beautiful as always and the carrot cake was tasty.
High Price for mediocre experience here. Nice beach view with nice selection of breakfast buffet foods. However, foods were not kept hot (excetion for ommlette station made to order), bland and standard. Best part was the orange juice. Nothing special. This will be a pass for us in future OC trips.
The restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. However, we waiting over an hour for our food. The steak; make sure you check how it comes served as a member of our party had to send their order back over two times. I recommend this place if you have money to blow without their interest in the quality of food. Definitely not Ocean City’s finest.
Worst dining experience we’ve ever experienced in Ocean City. Waitress was arrogant and non-attentive. Crab legs were overcooked and completely dry as pictured. No attempt by any employee or manager to right our order. Alfredo tasted like jarred Ragu. Positive note, crab imperial was very good.
Really bad service, there was a server her name was Alisa refused to take a work permit as an ID and we asked for the manager, he did the same, very disappointed!!
Very disappointed in the overall service there I was there on 7/13/20 for over a hour and never got our food to top it off 2 other tables that came in after me they’re food was served before mines! Finally me and my husband was fired up and ready to leave! Our server was the worst ever also it took her 40 minutes to bring bread to us and could care less if we needed something! I’m writing this because I really feel like it was discrimination going on in there. I will never step a toe back in that restaurant and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone!!!
Don't even bother with this place. The food was cold, literally everything was COLD!!!!! Worst experience we had since our vacation and we wanted this to be our last meal at Ocean city. Food was horrible man, Eggs were purple, pancakes were rock hard, Biscuits were rocks, . And to top it all off the servers or cleaners were just lounging and sitting on the stairs watching us as we ate and got our food. Giving us the are you done yet looks, like when are you leaving looks, I was soooo uncomfortable. The whole experience was just horrible. It's ocean front and they make sure they advertise that but you couldn't even see the ocean because I don't think the windows had ever been washed/cleaned/wiped since they opened the restuarant. The front desk guy was soooo non chalant, not welcoming or friendly at all . The whole thing was just horrible man. Got charged $13 for a mimosa that was just warm orange juice with a drop of champagne. Don't waste your money at this place, it'll ruin your vacation. Thankfully we went as we were leaving. Never again. LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT PLACE.
What's going on here? This establishment writing there own ratings? We've been trying to get in to eat this evening 5 -22, and there are empty tables and they won't seat us because and I'll use their words,"we're backed up in the kitchen" we have been waiting for 1and a half hours and still waiting for them. This is our 40th Anniversary and it's not just the money, we have a ocean front suit, 350 a night and they can't feed us on a reservation. Ok, this is an update from my rant, 2 hours later we got in to sit down and eat. The main course was good, but they had to substitute fries for our potatoes. I have some mixed thoughts about the management of this restaurant. But to be fair, I don't know how much they have to deal with with the reopening to the public after a year of the bull sh.. quarantine issues.
I can't share my experience because there wasn't one. I made reservations online several weeks ago and received confirmations. Last night we showed up to find that the hotel and restaurant were closed for renovations. There was another couple there who were in the same boat. So we scrambled around trying to find a place to eat on Christmas Eve. Luckily we found Nick's. See separate review.
Worst restaurant in Ocean City. Crab legs were way over cooked. When we tried to show the manager what they looked like he said I don’t even know how they’re supposed to be cooked. Everything was terrible! The waitress was extremely rude and arrogant. We ate out every night and this was the worst experience. Save your money and go to anywhere else.
We waited almost a full two hours to get our food and when it came mediocre at best. Not quite sure what was the delay but the table next to us was seated a full hour behind us and got their drinks, dinner and check before us. Very Disappointing, the waiter stopped by about once every 20 minutes to see if we needed another round of drinks but was otherwise not interested in helping us at all. BTW we had to ask to get drinks, and yes we should have just gotten up then but it was raining outside and we had walked here so unfortunately we were pot committed:/ If this review keeps one person from going to this restaurant I have done my civic duty.
Awful buffet food, but very pleasant servers. Everything on the buffet was overcooked and/or flavorless except the French fries and fried chicken (which needed seasoning, but was fresh and cooked very nicely). I didn't want fried food for dinner. I wanted seafood. The peel and eat shrimp had a very strange texture and despite having spices in them, had no flavor either. I had to spit it out. I have no idea how one can ruin steamed shrimp. The ahi tuna had no taste. The salmon -their catch of the day - How can salmon be the catch of the day in Maryland?- looked overcooked, so I skipped it. Prime rib was tough and also lacked flavor, but it was not overcooked. Ribs were overcooked, but might have been tasty an hour or two ago.
I am writing this review while i am at the restaurant. The buffet seems to be the way to go. Service is subpar and fountain/tap drinks seem to be misfunctioning because the beer and soda taste bad. Food is above average but doesn't make up for the poor service in my opinion. We are getting married here next year and this is not a very good impression. This is the second night in a row we've experienced this and came at two different times so it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. Work on getting better and more efficient staff and keep it up with the food. UPDATE: sat at 7:45 ordered two burgers and my fiancé got the buffet. Didn't get our burgers until 8:50 and they were cold and not at all what we ordered. I am not one to be vocal at the restaurant but this place is way too expensive to have these kinds of mistakes. How do two burgers take 1 hour and 15 minutes and then can't even get the order right lol. I ordered the beach burger which comes with two parties American cheese and sautéed onions medium. I got a plain burger that over cooked. I just asked to have it removed from my bill, this place is a joke.
The food was good but the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced and I’m not exaggerating one bit. It was not crowded but we waited 30 minutes for our drinks, had to keep going up to the bar to have them filled. It took 45 minutes for the crab legs they bring you if your order them with the buffet. When we paid, it took 15 minutes for the waiter to come back with our check. We were there 2 hours and 15 minutes with a bunch of kids. Our waiter only had our group of 15 to deal with. For how expensive it was, it was a disaster! I would never even think of going back there when in ocean city again. .
We went there last year with no problems but this year it was nothing but. The snow crab legs that were cold were clearly stored in water and tasted like nothing. The clams were bad. Not bad as in small or gritty, but bad as in rancid. I grew up eating them and I should have known from the look, but I assumed at almost $45 a person, one would assume the quality would be good. No. They were rancid, putrid, probably leftover from yesterday clams. I told our server and they said they would shuck new ones but too little too late. A little girl threw up next to us and the clean up and assistance was anything but prompt. Will not be going back.
