After living in Italy for 3.5 years, this is the best Italian I've ever had outside of the country. Risotto was not "crunchy", in fact, it may have been a tad overcooked, but it was still al dente in some bites. Lamb was immaculate, tiramisu was great, and I was very excited to see a Montepulciano D'Abruzzo on the wine list! I also had a glass of Peroni because of course it's always a plus to see an Italian beer this side of the pond.
Had a very great experience at Field’s Italian. This will easily become your favorite spot on the coast from the atmosphere, to the very accommodating staff, and then food was second to none (spicy rigatoni add meatballs)! Would also be remised if I didn’t give a special thanks to Ashton, Amber, and Lauren for making our time here even better!
We just had the best experience at Fields in Ocean Springs! Field, the owner and chef, came over to our table and was so kind. You can tell he really cares about his guests and the food he’s serving. We had the scallops and the lasagna gnocchi — both were incredible. He even brought us a tiramisu on the house, which was such a nice surprise. Highly recommend if you’re in the area — we’ll definitely be back!
We came into town for a family Birthday weekend! Stumbled on fields Italian! Did not disappoint!! We got several appetizers and different entrees and everything was delicious!! Food, drinks, service and overall atmosphere was top notch!! Highly recommend for a date night or family night!
Misha was our server and Wow what a great experience! This restaurant is so beautiful inside, down to the dishes you get served your delicious food on. Our granddaughter had her birthday lunch here and Misha surprised her with a beautiful crème brûlée. I got the meatball sandwich and they have the best homemade chips I’ve ever eaten.! All of our food was so delicious, the fried calamari , the salads are humongous and have artichokes in them with a wonderful house dressing. I got coffee to start off with, and that was the best coffee I have had in a long time on a beautiful place setting. I will definitely take a picture of it next time because we definitely will be going back.
We walked in to try Fields tonight, we didn’t have a reservation, but probably should have, but was seated immediately. We had not eaten all day and was starving. Our appetizer was the Bread & Butter and it was fresh & flavorful. I ordered the Lasagna gnocchi and add fried chicken. The chicken was fried to perfection & the gnocchi was so good. My husband got the Tomahawk Lambchop with asparagus and ate everything on his plate! Definitely recommend!
This was one of my favorite places in ocean springs. In fact my friend and I stopped by 3 times. Twice for drinks and once for dinner. The first 2 times we stopped in at the bar. I loved the espresso martini here. The bartender stayed engaged with us and all the guest at the bar. We enjoyed the view from being inside. I stayed with a big smile on my face because of the espresso martini. My friend had a variety of drinks. For dinner I had lasagna. It was very tasty and flavorful. We truly enjoyed our server. He was kind. The food was on time. The ambiance was very calming and tranquil. I would definitely come back.
Went on a Saturday night at 9pm. Bar in front, outside seating, counter service. Restaurant in back. Casual dining, ambient music background, less than 2 minutes wait. Bruchetta tomatoes appetizer enough to share. Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled shrimp for $23. Sent compliments to Chef.
This place has the BEST Mozzarella Sticks ever! Amazing alfredo as well! Our waitress was outstanding.
We were at lunch, sat at the bar. Service was excellent. We had the flatbread. Food was great. We will go back again for dinner.
Mariah was sooo great soo friendly we felt like we knew her! Her service was top tier! Thank you Mariah
The food was excellent. Server was nice. It was busy and service was a little slow but good.
The food was delicious. Best scallops I've ever had. They melted in my mouth. Awesome service.
Food tasted really good, food came out extremely fast 👍🏻
Perfect in every way......the vibe, the next level service from Derrell, the menu. I can't say enough about our food. Can't wait to come back and try more off that menu.
First visit and will return for sure. Recommended
Everything is so yummy here! Highly suggest you get a seat at the bar. Great drinks and awesome staff.
Great italian food, beautiful dining room and great service.
Mariah brings the energy and brings the fun! If she’s your server be prepared for a good time!
Amber & Ashton were phenomenal! Loved the drinks, food, company & atmosphere.
Had calamari and flat bread, they were wonderful. Great atmosphere.
The best Eggplant Parmesan I have ever had!
You have to try the fried mozzarella sticks! These are not from Frozen... Awesome!
Delicious food!! Beautifully decorated restaurant and bar! Will be back soon!
Amazing atmosphere. The crab Arancini is mouth watering. All the other food was awesome. Definitely putting this one in my rotation.
Totally still giving a 5 star, especially for a new restaurant. It usually takes 6-12 months for any establishment to work out some kinks. The speed of food service was exceptional. The server was extremely energetic. There were a couple things such as forgetting a steak knife with a chop and having to wait for her to come back to ask for one. No biggie. The 4 on food was for the scallops. Extremely over salted or not left to sear properly in order for it to cook off some. Granulated sea salt was still present. The risotto was amazing and all flavors were on point. We were celebrating our anniversary and it was mentioned on the reservation and we got a happy anniversary at the hostess, but wasn't relayed to server or a table that was maybe more special. We will definitely be back though.
Amazing food an drinks!! The cauliflower feta dish, crab aranchini, and fries with aoili are my favorites!!
Excellent food and service. My second time there but not my last. Two things to note. Do not expect to be served bread or side salad as part of your meal.
We will definitely be coming back. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the fried mozzarella sticks, the lobster, ravioli, and and the spicy rotini adding meatballs. Everything here was wonderful. We will be going back to try additional things. I would definitely recommend that you go here.
My wife and I ate here Thursday, and everything was amazing. We had the vodka pasta, fungi pizza, and the lambchops. I finally tried a new place and I enjoyed everything. Our server, Christa, was the best, even to the back waiter, Jesse. We will definitely be back to try more stuff out.
We had a great time celebrating my sweet friend’s birthday. Food was excellent. Natalie is so sweet, professional and beautiful! Thank you for making a wonderful experience for us, Fields!
We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the food was excellent. Our server was great even though it was extremely busy for a Thursday night. We didn’t have reservations, but girls at front made sure not to forget us when a table became available.
Mariah is the absolute best server I’ve ever had. Extremely friendly, very attentive and an overall amazing attitude. Highly recommend!
First time , Very friendly staff , hot good food nice atmosphere will return my new spot when I go to OS .
We moved here in 1998. This is the best Italian food since we moved here. Awesome food
The Mgr here is Freddie, they brought him in from the steak house, he runs a tight ship and the staff is very attentive and very friendly. We will be back soon. Oh yes Make a Reservation
The flatbread was amazing and the atmospherics are on point. The bartender Hunter gave great suggestions and his service was excellent!
Thank you so much for making the birthday great today! Hunter and Fready were so awesome!!! Appreciate you all!
This restaurant is very new to the downtown ocean Springs area but seems to already be making a statement with the handcrafted drink menu, wonderful wine selection, and most importantly the yummiest Italian food you can find on the MA gulf coast!
Let me just tell you something cuz, I’m an Italian from south Philly and this place blew my mind out the water. The taste the service and the drinks. Everything was flowing moe!!!! Definite recommend to all my Cugines.
Hunter was amazing!!! Highly recommend. Delicious food great prices and yummy drinks
Everything we had here was fresh, and delicious, it’s easily our favorite restaurant in Ocean Springs! Tastes like upscale homemade cooking
We sat at the bar and split the spaghetti with meatballs and it was fantastic. We also split a Caesar salad and it was a wonderful meal and the service was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are in Ocean Springs.
It was absolutely delicious we went for our friends birthday and were completely satisfied. We got the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they were huge and worth the price. My husband and I thought that it was the best marinara we've had in a while, and the spicy honey sauce was delicious. My husband had the lamb chops and he would not stop talking about them all day he loved them. I had the seafood scampi which was delicious also. We will definitely be back for sure! Can't wait to try something new next time!
Our second time here, and it was even better than the first time! I grew up in NY... worked in 3 restaurants as a HS kid. You cannot beat the quality and portion sizes! Veal Parm and Scampi were absolutely on point! The meatballs are huge, and perfectly seasoned garlic bombs! Ya gonna need a breath mint afterwards! For dessert ...the cannoli...OMG. Almost as good as Mama Vitrano's!
Server did well, food excellent. Normal tone conversation level, kid friendly in a mix n match furniture setting. Ample portions, presented well. Reservations preferred, bar seating available. Parking can be hard to find.
We are new to the area and had dinner at Fields this evening. I ordered the lasagna special. It was hands down the best lasagna I have ever eaten. The red sauce was slightly sweet, smooth and not at all acidic. The balance of pasta, cheese and meat was perfect. My wife had a shrimp and lobster flat bread that was also very good. We capped it off with an excellent lava cake. My wife had a mixed drink as well. Our bill was $55. We will definitely return!
One of the Best kept secrets in Ocean Springs eateries....great atmosphere..."Open Air" concept with connected inside/outside bar...."FABULOUS" food selections and the flavors were spot on. Portion sizes were very nice and service was very good. The menu variety was also very good. Treat yourself one afternoon or evening and check this place out....I am glad a friend recommended it to my wife and I.
Great atmosphere, clean, food and drinks taste good and they’re fairly generous with their portion sizes (not typical with restaurants of this caliber). They quickly accommodated a table of 5 without a reservation during a prime time Friday night. Definitely going back.
We went for the prime rib special and would definitely not disappointed the post Chris has a small waiting for you as soon as you walk in the door. Our server was fantastic the food was delicious we will definitely be back
Our server Misha was fantastic!!! There were six of us for lunch. Food was good, including dessert. Price was reasonable. Will come back and try again.
Me and my wife are visiting from Meridian. And I must say the food here was Amazing!!!! We had the stuffed mushrooms, & fried ravioli for appetizers and our Entrees were the Veal Parmesean and Margherita Flatbread. Our Waitress Nancy was very friendly. All of her recommendations was just right. Most definitely will be back.
Best Italian food in Ocean Springs! Great atmosphere, amazing staff, and phenomenal food! My wife and I went there for dinner on a Friday night and couldn’t wait to go back on Saturday for lunch!
Very enjoyable experience. Price was good for the quality meal. Meatballs were delicious! If you get dessert they have a smoked peach cemebrulet that was amazing. Tried several appetizers and was very satisfied with each. Definitely check it out.
Finally a real Italian restaurant in the Gulf Coast area. We came on a Saturday night at 8p without a reservation and the lovely hostesses accommodated us immediately. Server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food menu. Made awesome suggestions for us. My husband had the lamb chops which, were cooked perfectly, I had the meatballs with the spicy vodka sauce. The sauce was a bit too spicy for my tastes but delicious. Everything was brought on time and the food was hot still. We passed on the dessert this time but I saw some of the samplings next to our table they looked amazing. The place is very clean looking. Handicap accessible. The only drawback is parking but I will make the drive around the block to find it. Overall I'm very impressed and can't wait to come back and try all the foods.
The best dinner we had in Ocean Springs! The eggplant parmesan was delicious. Great cocktails, fun ambience, and friendly service. This will definitely be a repeat for us next time we’re in town.
This place is phenomenal. We make it a point to stop in every time we’re in town. The food is always fresh and flavorful and service is absolutely top notch. The bread and butter board and fried burrata apps are our favorite. The chicken piccata and chicken parm are delicious. In this last trip they had a surf and turf filet and shrimp special that was amazing. I thought about it for days afterwards. My favorite part though, is their tiramisu and Cannolis…..delicious.
We went to Fields for lunch today. The host was very welcoming and sat us promptly. Taylor, our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! I had the meatball sandwich and my wife had a flatbread. Both items were very tasty and very filling. The atmosphere was relaxing and the dining area was very clean. We will definitely be back.
One of the best dining experiences!! They were SO accommodating for our party of 18!! From the person who answered the phone to the people who greeted us, the waitstaff and everyone we interacted with was absolutely wonderful. The food was fantastic, drinks were amazing and our server, Hailey, was the absolute sweetest!
Our first but not last visit! From the host last night to our server, we were treated so kind. We ordered veal parm, chicken picatta and the meatball appetizer. Wow, it was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were crazy taking home dinner for tonight as well! Thank you Fields. We can't wait to return and try something else :).
We are regulars! Love the entire experience - the ambiance, the food, the quality of the cocktails and the service is second to none. Coming from NY where my family owned/operated several Italian restaurants, Fields has not only met the bar, but raised the bar on both traditional fare and new spin on favorites.
Grabbed drinks here. Bartenders are great
Stopped in at bar for a drink, great atmosphere, outdooor seating on main street for people gazing, awso.e on a nice day or evenng. Good drinks and bartenders are good.
Tried Field's recently on a Thursday night....quite busy but had a nice atmosphere. I'm not Italian and I don't really frequent Italian restaurants, I found the food to be good and worth coming back for. The hot charcuterie board was excellent the meatballs have nice favor and a touch of spice. The mozzarella sticks were huge. The margherita flatbread checked the box but not over the top. The steak special was raved about by our dinner guests but did arrive with only 4 pieces of asparagus for the side. I would come back definitely probably more for lunch versus dinner. Lastly I didn't like having to fan flies while eating indoors.
First time visit. Decent ambiance in the table area in the back. Had the crab stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, the spicy rigatoni with vodka sauce and a side of meatballs, and the pan seared scallops risotto. Stuffed mushrooms were ok but were served without a utensil to serve/dip the mushrooms or the sauce with (also nothing with the meatballs). All of the dishes had great flavor but the risotto and rigatoni were severely overcooked with the rigatoni cooked to the falling apart point. Pasta should be cooked al dente, but overcooked pasta seems to be a recurring theme in quite a few of their other reviews. The peach crème brûlée was very good, but our waitress brought us our bill while dropping off the dessert spoons BEFORE we ever received our dessert or finished our meal. Huge no bueno for me. Wanted to like this place, but they’ve got some growing to do service and food-wise. Would not recommend since I would probably not return. Too many great restaurants in downtown OS to eat there again.
Went this past weekend. Everyone in our party of 5 were very impressed with the food. Flatbread appetizer was an excellent starter. The spicy ricotta a la vodka was to die for. I was so impressed, I took my partner back for his birthday yesterday. He happens to be Italian and an excellent cook! I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with great expectations. I greated the waitress with a "WOW!" when I saw the beautiful piled high plate of eggplant parm on top of spaghetti, great presentation. My excitement didn't last long as I dug into my meal. I was so disappointed! What ever possessed a chef to try baking a 1 1/2" thick chunk ( it didn't qualify as a slice) of eggplant. Parts were properly cooked while other parts were under cooked, as would be expected with such a thick piece of eggplant. If the eggplant had been good, I would have overlooked how overcooked the pasta was, not to mention the flavor of the sauce was lacking (I may just be spoiled on that count). So it comes down to determining which dishes are worthy and which aren't. We will definitely be going back. I'm thinking an appetizer, house salad (It's impressive), and flatbread.
The appetizers were quite good overall; however, the fried burrata was disappointing. It was not burrata but mozzarella, and it arrived only lukewarm. The pasta was unfortunately overcooked and not al dente. When rigatoni splits, it’s a clear sign it has been cooked too long. While the sauce itself was delicious, the pasta again arrived lukewarm, which took away from the dish. As someone who is Italian and who enjoys dining out for Italian food on occasion, this experience was a bit disappointing.
We had a cold charcuterie board, spaghetti and meatballs, and scallops. It was all delicious and hot. We had great service -other than drinks being slow to come. The reason I rated them a 4 is because they swept and set up the restaurant for the next day while we were still eating. Granted, our reservation was late - 8:15 - but it would’ve been nice to enjoy the good dinner we had without tables and chairs being pushed around as employees cleaned and swept. The bread issue is strange. There seem to be a lot of hard feelings about bread (according to the comments). I don’t understand why the restaurant doesn’t address this issue. The bread isn’t anything special at all. Two of us got three pieces of bread for $7. That’s expensive for basic, cold bread. Why not address this and make people happier?
Felt very rushed, this place seems more interested in turning tables than providing anything memorable. Veal parm was akin to shoe leather. Such a shame.
Not the best of experiences. First off, the place is pretty cool. Great vibe, deco is spot on. If you want to go for drinks, go for it. For the food, we ordered the mozzarella logs which were huge. Great value for the price. We also ordered the Bread and Butter sour dough. I'd skip this one next time. 3 pieces of bread that was way too hard and way too much money. My son ordered the pepperoni flat bread. This was a hit. Try this one if you visit. My wife ordered the chicken parm po'boy. She didn't complain and that says this one is worth trying. For me, I ordered the chicken parm plate and I was not impressed at all with the taste. Frankly, the marinara tasted like a bland tomato with pasta. Really, I had to struggle to get some sort of taste. Luckily there were basil strands added for garnish and I used that for taste. I will say the portion is huge, so the value for the portion is excellent. I'll skip this one if we go back. Now, for the driver of the "3". I really get frustrated when I go to a restaurant and I or my family have to continuously bat away flies. I can see having to do it if I'm eating outside, but this is not an outside dining experience. Will we go back, probably in a month or two. I'll get the flat bread. Do I recommend it, no, not as a "go-to" place.
Really wanted to like this place. However, there are major issues here. Ordered a burrata salad which was delicious. Halfway through my burrata salad my fettuccine alfredo was delivered. I requested that they take it back so that I could finish my salad. Once my salad was consumed, they delivered my warm fettuccine alfredo which was cold by the time I finished it. I got rushed through a meal when I was there to relax. Bread and butter is $7, which is free in NYC, where I'm from. When I get my bill, there is a 3% charge for using my credit card. So, instead of leaving a 20% tip, I leave a 17% tip. Disgusted at the lack of customer service! Very inexperienced wait staff! My server was pleasant but clueless!
Was super excited to try this new restaurant, walked in and sat at the bar. Inside is very cute and service was prompt and friendly. Had a cocktail which was very tasty. Ordered the burrata caprese salad, not bad but was overloaded with pesto and barely had any balsamic reduction. Also ordered the scallops dish, risotto was not cooked, very crunchy and kind of inedible. Scallops weren’t bad but were strangely very salty. Again, there was so much pesto on this dish. Overall, pretty bummed because the restaurant is so cute. However, it’s a big menu so there might be better options so I’d still say to give it a try!
The resturant was nice BUT we were stuck between 2 tables that was way to close and while my husband ordered ceasar chicken sandwich that was good but the chips was not fully cooked and to salty and my ceasar salad was without the croutons that was supposed to be on there but wasn't and the chicken was supposed to be grilled but was fried and when I sent it back they said it was pan seared? I know the difference between pan seared and fried so needless to say we won't go back again.
This place is just alright. The best thing it has going for it is the outdoor seating to enjoy now that the weather isn't unbearable. The portion sizes are very small. I had an appetizer, an entree (plus side), and a dessert and i was still hungry. The drinks are pretty small, especially for the price. The service was hit or miss. They were arguing with each other behind the bar, which is what I want to listen to when eating. You probably wont hate this place, but I doubt it will be your favorite either.
Amanda was my server and she was excellent. The entire host and server staff were wonderful. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it tasted good, just maybe not $34 good. The sauce was a little thin and honestly too oily. The dining room itself was fine, but at 6 pm, sitting on the western wall, it was very warm and there wasn't a lot of air circulation so I was uncomfortable. I would like to come back and try it for lunch and get a different dish
It was alright but I wasn’t happy for the amount of money I spent. The restraunt is pretty loud. We sat in a semi private area with curtains blocking off our table but it was still loud and difficult to hear the people at my table. I really only took 2 star off for the price, I ordered scallops and risotto for $37. At this price I wouldn’t expect my risotto to be under cooked or to get 4 of the tiniest scallops but oh well. Not sure I would go back but definitely won’t order the same thing if I do. As an Italian I really wanted to like this restaurant but oh well.
The food taste is nothing special and has no Italian flavor. Small portion for expensive fried hard tasteless calamari. The expensive five small crab stuffed mushrooms were bland and tasteless. I sent my horrible food back and didn’t eat anything else because the prices are crazy high for the size, portion and quality of food. My friend ate lamb chops and look at the size! They give you 6 tiny tinny bland tasteless lamb chops on a plate with 3 to 5 bitter asparagus spears salty nasty sauce with mint leaves. So gross. Italian Garden is much better.
Only good thing was our server! Lacking flavor across the board.
Originally we were very excited to try this restaurant. However the service was terrible. Our waitress completely forgot to ring in one of my party members food and was missing the whole night. She could not pronounce or offer any type of wine recommendations and was generally missing the entire evening. The food was less than mediocre. Certainly not true OR good italian and not made with any real love or flavor. the sauce is watery lacks any depth the cutlets are too dry too thick and too bland. Nothing against the cost of the meal but the quality and care doesn't match. The atmosphere was decent and the table setting was ok but why ruin it with the cheap plastic cups for drinks?
If people think this place is Italian then they haven’t been to an Italian restaurant. You don’t charge for bread and modern jazz should not be on as you walk in have you ever heard of Frank Sinatra!!! Next you’re never rushed in a true Italian restaurant. It should be a dining experience especially if they charging for bread with no olive oil. Now let’s get to the food the veal was tough the breading burned and the cheese not sticking so when you cut through the tough veal everything goes flying off. The spaghetti was overcooked and marinara watery, bland and cold. Finally I’m 100% Italian from Jersey so you might say I’m critical but don’t tell me it’s a true Italian experience when it is clear the owners have never been in a true Italian restaurant. And for your prices you should have been heads up to 11 for great chocolate martinis peace out and in addition the manager said will comp 50% of the bill which was $177 and then charged me $134 so in addition to the food was lousy they also suck at math !
Wasn’t impressed at all. I didn’t like their steak house in bay St. Louis as I tried it 3 times and now I’m just as disappointed in this establishment . Maybe they are more of an Olive Garden type chain that wants to be what a real Italian restaurant is . I’m pretty sure I had some glass or something similar in my crab arancini . Won’t be back .
Starting off we had food crumbs left in our chairs and the table was still half ass wiped off with crumbs left on the table as well. The menus were stuck to the table bc it was still wet from them attempting to clean. We ordered our appetizer : crab stuffed mushrooms , that was the best part of our experience. The small plates for sharing came out with a good amount of food residue and sauce left on them. They had to be sent back. The steak special : steak and crab mac n cheese was Extremely Greasy and the only good thing about the dish was the steak which was slightly undercooked. Asked for medium it came out medium rare. You like your steak how you like it . I don’t like mine medium rare. Wife got the calamari starter after she didn’t like the salad she had . So that came out and that was just bland as bland can get . No flavor but the flavor of the grease it was fried in. Horrible we ate 2 bites and left the rest . Also the servers got our tables mixed up as well and brought out our food to another table close by and there food to our table. He even sat it down , I was like that’s not ours thanks but no thanks. We are visiting family from St. Louis and we had some family and even some strangers we met at The Toasted Yolk that morning recommend this place. They said this place was good. I’d stay away. We don’t mind dropping 100- 300 for really good food and service but this was not that at all. The ambience on the inside was extremely loud . We don’t mind it getting busy loud but this place was overly loud with the people inside. Overall we will find somewhere else to go next time we come into town.
Greatly disappointed. We waited awhile to finally eat at this lovely restaurant in ocean springs but was disappointed. The food was less than to be desired. The crab stuffed mushrooms were rubbery. The lasagna tasted like it came from a box & the meatballs unflavored was drenched it what taste like jar marinara. Maybe a bad night but we will not return.
I really wanted to like this place but it just wasn't meant to be. The food was mediocre and the service was horrible. Our waitress came back to the table after we ordered and told me they were out of what I'd ordered. No big deal but as she'd taken our menus after we ordered I asked for another so I could choose something else. The next time we saw her was after appetizers and then everyone else had gotten their meals. At that point I had to remind her about the menu she was supposed to be bringing. When I finally got something to eat it was a bit bland and something about the sauce just wasn't good.
I have been here a few times. The food is good. The bartenders are nice, but the manager lady Ashton I think? She was really unkind and rude. I won’t be back because of her.
I made a reservation for 7:30 about a month ago… at 7:45, our server asked if we were ready to order “because their kitchen closes at 8.” I immediately apologized profusely saying their website let me make a reservation for 7:30 and she just implied the website should not have let me do that. So of course my party and i felt so guilty for being their the entire dinner, but our server made sure to not alleviate any concerns- and instead said “they’ve already swept out there so when yall leave it will be quick to close.” I’m sorry your POS system allowed me to make a reservation that late, but i feel like my party and i still should’ve been treated with respect. Food was ok. When asking server about pesto she said it was bland which was red flag #1, but fortunately for myself i will not be returning to discover even MORE ref flags. Please update open table if your server will make me feel like a BURDEN for attending my reservation. Next time i will not try for the “nice italian” and will stick with Olive Garden
