Great local eatery with authentic Mexican food. Homemade flour tortillas are the best. Would highly recommend.
Av Very pleasant experience. Great food, prices, and nice portions. I'll be back!
Best hidden hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in Oceano. Made as food is ordered - the tastiest tortillas on the Central Coast 👍🌯🌮🍽
Omg omg soooo good and cheap. However they forgot to give me hot sauce and I even asked them if it was put in the bag so without looking I left. Again the food was sooooooo good and I am going to def go bk again and again
Love this place, just ordered a burger&fries, yes they have that too,but everything is always tasty, especially the chicken tacos, the people are always nice & friendly.
The best hand made tortillas and Mexican food in the area a must try excellent!!!!
Best homemade tortillas . Everything we tried on the menu was excellent. Customer service excellent.
I live in Santa Maria and I enjoy going to Chaco's for the best chicken tacos and never been disappointed. Awesome food. Paul the barber 😎
Ordered 6 burritos on a busy day and it was fast and delicious!
The best Mexican food on the Central Coast! I used to live in El Centro, CA which is 10 miles from Mexico. There were several outstanding Mexican restaurants in the area and Chacho's is the closest I've found on the Central Coast to the Mexican food in El Centro. Everything is excellent! My favorite is the Chacho Supreme which you can get with 2 different meats! I get carne asada and chili verde with rice, beans chili Colorado sauce and chili verde sauce, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Then I smother it in their green salsa (the green salsa is medium spicy and is awesome!) It is so big I eat half and take the rest home! It is family owned and operated and they are wonderful people. I would rate Chacho's 6 out of 5 stars! Steve Elledge
Love the food here especially the homemade tortillas. Used to eat here when they were in the Village (Arroyo Grande) many years ago. Worth the wait!
Ordered 3 carnitas tacos with corn tortillas.
Great little taqueria. The Chile Colorado is the best around, plus you can order homemade tortillas with 24 hour notice. Closed Sundays
Been eaten there for 40 + years and still as good as the first time..Keep up the good work making your dad proud girls!
Authentic Mexican food at a great price. Hand made tortillas, freshly made chips, flavorful salsa... Do yourself a favor and stop in for some great food.
I've been privledge to have eaten three, most of my life. I've been living 45 miles away for 18 years, one way. Well worth the drive.
Always delicious! You can't beat a bean and cheese burrito with their fantastic salsa and homemade tortillas! Great family run restaurant!!!
Anyone who gives this place anything but a 5 is used to Taco Hell. Serious lack of taste if you have one bad thing to say about their food. I recommend Chachos to people from all over that know real food and they're never disappointed.
Place was awesome. The employees were super friendly. Definitely recommend.
Oh man they have homemade tortillas best Mexican food in san luis obispo county
Grew up on 19th street. Always a favorite. Homemade tortillas. Homemade everything. Glad it's still around. Authentic Mexican Food.
Im so impressed ..this is the first place that comes close to my familys cooking fromcthe time i could walk..food is amazing n the people r truly a family loving business.. They put their heart n souls into sharing with the people who truly just want a good old family mexican dinner.. Ill be bk now..even the drive from atascadero during the week will be made n well deserved ..Thank you folks for knowing what real mexican food is.. Just loved it so much..
So good, my first California burrito. The tortilla was interesting and was similar to Naan. I definitely fell into a food coma after I ate
You will never leave this place sad. The food has been the same for my whole life. I love it and will eat the food from here as long as they stay open. I recommend this place to anyone.!
Best kept secret Homemade flour tortillas 🔥
The food is fantastic and very authentic. The tortillas are to die for... I highly recommend ordering several tortillas the day before to enjoy on the beach.
Just met Anna, brilliant girl, chorizo is my fave. So lucky to find this little place. Thanks so much♾️🙏♾️👍
Had the tacos on special, talk about flavor and authentic mexican food. Loved it! Cannot wait to try more on the menu!
Great food! I would highly recommend calling in your order for pickup but the wait times are not that long if you go in person
This is the best take out Mexican food of Oceano! Food is always great and a must stop when heading to Pismo. The place is always busy so others must agree! Love chachos❤️🌯🌮
Soooo good! And everyone is awesome! Delicious!
The burrito was amazing and the tortilla was home made it was the best burrito i had in a long time
Best Carne Asade burrito! Fresh salsas! A must have when driving through Oceano on Highway 1!! A staple when in town! If you haven't gone yet - I ask "Why Not?!"
I must say that their Chile Relleno is the best around this area! All their food is amazing and reasonably priced! The atmosphere is not the greatest so we always get it to go!
The best and about onlot we 3ply real Mexican food place there is in oceano/pismo/arroyo grande. Love the Chile relleno burrito, carnitas burrito and burrito supreme!! Handmade tortillas.!! 😍 When this place is closed I drive out to Guadalupe or santa Maria for some good Mexican food.
The best food ive ever eaten
This is such a great place! Everything they make is great and the quality is top notch too! I live in Orange County but for the past 15 years, whenever I drive thru Oceano, I have to stop into Chacho's. It never changes. It is always the best!
Small take out place but food is soooooo good. Fresh made tortillas, great seasoning on tacos and burritos.
The only Mexican Food Restaurant on the Central Coast I will eat at. I have been eating here since I was a child and their service hasn't changed you get Great Food at a Great Price compared to other Mexican Food Restaurants on the Central Coast. The Chachos Combo burrito is Awesome Chili Verde/Chili Colorado all in one and it's a Huge Burrito a must try if your really hungry or want to share with someone. Thank you Chachos🌯🌯🌯🔥🔥🔥👍🏽
What a great small Mexican restaurant. Some of the best burritos I've had and all of the employees are so friendly. I'm definitely coming back
It's really a lovely spot to get burritos, and the staff is super kind. The homemade tortillas really put it over the top. I just wish I bought more food when I went!
Growing up on the central coast I've had the chance to try pretty much every Mexican restaurant from cambria/San Miguel down to Santa Maria/Guadalupe and I'll be so bold as to say that Chachos is my favorite. I moved away from the beloved central coast in 2015 but everytime I visit I make a special stop for their Chili Colorado burrito and their chips and salsa! Yum! There is nothing like fresh fried tortilla chips dipped in a mild red salsa that you can basically drink. The tortillas are freshly made and everything is served as is. If you visit here make sure to be specific on your order. If you order a burrito you will need to tell them what you want in it. If you don't you will get a tortilla filled with meat ( which is fine by me!). Stop by and enjoy.
I’ve had this cuisine all over the world, over the course of a few decades, and not just on vacation, but living in areas that should have legit epic Mexican food. maybe I’m partial being from AG ... but it always comes down to this: It is without a doubt the best Mexican food. ever. In the galaxy. Miss you guys!! Hope you’re well!
It is so comforting to know that somethings never change. I haven’t eaten here since I graduated from high school over a decade ago. The tortillas are still perfectly fluffy + griddled, the carnitas is crispy + the green salsa is spicy in all the right ways. This was a wonderful trip down memory lane to skipping 6th period to get my burrito fix.
Chachos is one of our go-to Mexican Restaraunt’s on the central coast. Classic hole-in-the-wall greatness. From the homemade butter tortillas to the chicken tacos to the spicy green salsa, it doesn’t get much better. Try it, trust me.
Went to Chacho's for the first time today and was very impressed. I've been to handful of Mexican places on the central coast and this was by far the best. It definitely has a hole in the wall feel, so you know it's legit. They were a little slow getting the order but it was worth the wait.
Great homemade tortillas, nicely seasoned meat that wasn’t too saucy like a lot of Cali-Mex food. Machaca, Chile Verde, Carne Asada were all excellent. Portions aren’t enormous, but the price was appropriate for the portions...and I probably shouldn’t be eating a burrito as big as my head anyway.
Everything is so Authentic and delicious. A little roadside stand that’s been serving awesome food for 30+ years in this same location. Prices are good the food is gooder lol. Fresh to order flour tortillas wrap all the burritos, the green sauce is to die for, Spicy but delicious. I highly recommend Chachos in Oceano Ca.
Best mexican food anywhere! Great Burritos are $5 and are made with homemade tortillas and big! Drinks are around a dollar depending on what your drink is. Small building, family owned, small dining room with outdoor seating available to enjoy the ocean breeze while you eat.
This is one of those hole in a wall places. If you blink you could pass it by. Chacho's is a small family owned Mexican restaurant. Not much seating inside or out. The nice thing is is that they make their own tortillas for your burritos (OMG!!) This place has been around a while and a local favorite. It's a very small place but it has a great history behind it.
Their veggie burritos are pretty great for good Fridays when you shouldnt eat meat. So are their dinner specials and nachos. I'd recommend eating here at least once to try their food.
Always experienced excellent service. The food continues to never disappoint and is always exceptional. Chaçho's homemade Mexican cuisine has been enjoyed by locals and newcomers for many years.
It's a small costal place, and the food is delicious. Tortillas are homemade (flour). Customer service is awesome. My go-to are the burritos.
Fantastic food, great place, best faster Mexican food in the area! So good it's craveable. Eat here once, you'll come back for the rest of your life.
FRESH FOOD DON'T MISS THIS ONE
Small corner store. Food is really good. Quick service on most days, but crowed on days the weather is great and the beaches are full.
This place has the best wet chili colorado and verde burritos hands down; if you didn't come here for those, you have made a grave mistake, but I also like the tacos. Most everything here is good. If this place was any smaller, it would litterally be a whole in the wall, but I have always liked that about this place. It's a great place to eat if you're a local or just passing by!
Stopped here in April of 19’. The best homemade tortillas and the best staff you could ask for. We stopped by near the end of the day and the family running the store was so nice and accommodating. They even sent us out the door with extra tortillas for the road since we were so enamored with them. We will always plan to stop here when in the area.
Some of the best Mexican food in Oceano. It's a small restaurant with limited seating indoors but they do have some outdoor tables. Their tortillas are delicious. I highly recommend the burritos and nachos. The food takes a little while to cook but it is 100% worth the wait.
Best chili verde burrito ever!! (Be sure to add cheese— no beans and/or rice. Just cheese and the chili verde. I promise! It’s perfect!) Also, *each bite* should be enjoyed with their homemade pico de gallo and green sauce! Their tortillas are homemade daily! Try them with butter—OMG! Yum!! 😋
This is a little hole in the wall restaurant. We had some friends who had been here before and recommended this spot. It's not a big fancy place. The building is a an orange building that is very small that sits on a corner. But it was well worth it. The staff was great very friendly. As for the price of the food, well, let's just say it was well worth it. It was the price that I usually get here at home. As for the food, the food was fantastic. It is what we were looking for. Ate at a couple places, with prices that were just outrageous with the food not so great. And there was some that was really nice and pretty, but it tasted like crap still just overpriced crap so you can't imagine how happy and delighted we were to find Chacho's. If you were looking for some good burritos at a nice price, go there. Even if you don't, I still recommend you go there. Other than that, I know where I'll be going from now on. You guys have a blessed day, God bless
Fresh , fresh, fresh made to order. Hello Anna y team !
I would give chacho's 10 Stars if I could and I rarely say that... This is a classic mom-and-pop family run Mexican restaurant on highway 1 in oceano probably less than a mile south of Pier Ave.... It's hard to believe it but probably the item I order most would just be a bean and cheese burrito... I've never had a better bean and cheese burrito anywhere on Earth and I grew up in LA... The key is the homemade tortillas... If you're planning on going there don't wait until too late because they close pretty early and frequently are sold out of the tortillas by late afternoon... They only have a few seats inside and out and ample parking.. grab your food and take it down to the beach 🏖️.. The Burger and fries are amazingly good but it really doesn't matter because anything you order is going to be amazing for the best experience call in your order 20 minutes before you get there

It's the best Mexican food in the area. We tried other Mexican food restaurants but none come close to the homemade taste. It's take-out unless you sit outside. Excellent prices too
The absolute best chili verde burrito in the world. I mean, my opinion.
Best Mexican food on the Central Coast!
Chacho's is the best. It's been the go-to spot for me and my friends most of our lives for a reason. It's been owned and run by the same great local family since I can remember. They make real fresh homemade tortillas, and everything they make is amazing. I highly recommend you stop by if you are driving on hwy 1 through Oceano, CA.
This place is amazing with delicious food. We mostly ordered chicken and shredded beef soft tacos with their homemade salsa sauce (red). The staff always friendly! We just love their simple Mexican foods!❤️
Me and my husband went on a road trip and stopped by here for some lunch. We got a chicken and asada burrito. It made the entire trip for me. The homemade tortillas are amazing. Everything else was amazing. Highly recommend.
I really love the fish taco here. Very fresh and clean, lightly battered with plenty of cabbage crunch and I love the freshly made tortilla chips. By far the best chips around and that’s a fact. The only issue is the wait because it’s a small place and I guess they cook one order at a time, so don’t go when you’re hungry and expecting a fast service, unless you get lucky. OR call in ahead.
This place is busy. The phone doesn't stop ringing. Food is really good staff are friendly. Chacho's is family owned and operated. Stop by whenever you are in town. I am looking forward to my next visit.
These guys and gals are absolutely amazing. Get going with any of the staff, and you feel like you're talking to family. Just incredibly open and friendly. The food here does indeed speak for itself. I'm partial to the crunch Barboca tacos, but it's all delicious. They've kept the quality alive where most seem to fail in recent years. 100% recommend.
This is more of a take out restaurant, but there are a couple of tables to sit and eat real quick. The food is better than most burrito shops. I am very impressed with their salsas. Such great flavor! I got the chili verde burrito - a great value!
The workers are so nice. The back workers. Work so hard to get the great food out
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, we got the Monday special tacos and they were super yummy! Staff were so friendly! We were planning to stop in on iur way out of town to head back to aus but misjudged our time… would have loved to try more of the menu❤️

Very good carne asada burritos. Only been there once but really enjoyed it. The people were very friendly. I'll be back.
Very Small place, Best to get food to go. Great people that work there. Very nice and friendly. Loved the home made tortillas.
Very good food, amazing fresh made chips & salsa 😋 very friendly service 😊
I have been eating here since I was a kid. The best homemade Mexican food around. The tortillas alone are worth the trip. Call ahead or call for delivery, they always seem to be packed.
Dad loved his burrito. I liked mine pieces of meat where to big. Would be better if the carnitas was cut smaller. Employees were Amazing. Service was the best!!
The burgers here are absolutely delicious! Thanks to Figgy Tires for recommending this place.
This is the best Mexican food in the whole area. That's fantastic. It's only down falls. It's a small place and you have to order ahead of time.

A cute little hole-in-the-wall, family-owned Mexican food restaurant, with a great location near fun beaches. Service was friendly and excellent. There are two small tables to eat inside, and another small set outside, but probably best to grab and go. I had high expectations for food from the reviews here, but was very underwhelmed... Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing? Our family of 6 ordered a selection of tacos -- carnitas, al pastor, barbacoa, chicken and fish. Portions were large, but tortillas were basic (are the corn tortillas supposed to be homemade?), and meat was not very flavorful. The fish taco was the most disappointing to me (especially being near the ocean)... It looked like a rectangular fish nugget and the sauce was very heavy on the mayo flavor. We've spent a lot of time recently on the central coast and are always trying new local tacos -- these were my least favorite in the area 😣 I might try Chachos one more time to see what the burritos are like, since many reviews here rave about those.

I was disappointed. Nay, we were disappointed. 😞 FYI! The meat portions are incredibly tiny. There take out containers have three slots. Two sides, rice and beans delicious. The service was adequate. Here goes the meat of this review. The main slot was misted with chile verde. Tasted authentic not to salty, but a very tiny portion. Two huge Sonora style tortillas included with the dinners. Same went for the chile colorado plate. Not the best value for the money, but they are local and authentic. Eat at your own risk, if your trying to diet on Mexican food this might be the place to go. Either way we will continue to try some other menu items to give them another try.
I would give a 5 for taste BUT I am upset at how they handled our Christmas order. I called to add food to my mom's order and called again a week later to confirm the order. The last time I called I was trying to pay over the phone because I was coming in from out of town. They don't do that. That's OK. But when my mom went to pick up they added $30 worth of tortillas and my mom just paid. There has to be a better way of taking orders. My mom is a senior and on a fixed income. Shame on you guys. My mom always goes here but that might change now that I feel she was taken advantage of.
While the food is generally very good we had a bad experience yesterday. The order was incorrect so a burrito had to be made again. When he was handing over the bag, the dirty nasty band-aid that was on the cook's hand was transferred to the bag with the food in it. Wondering if he made the burrito with that nasty band-aid on. They refunded the cost of the burrito abd apologized. Not good.
I wasnt excited after my meal was served; for one, I requested a chicken taco (along with my order of carnitas and carne asada tacos) and I got a fried crispy taco versus a soft street taco. Second, none of my 5 tacos had salsa on them. And, we had to pay for extra pico de gallo; which was a very small container. I understand they had a family member pass away, which I'm quite sad about and have paid my respects. However, the order was simple street tacos; nothing fancy, and the outcome was still poor.
The Chile rellano was super greasy and tasteless. Nothing was done to jazz it up at all. I have had many chile rellanos over the years and this was quite bland devoid even of a little cheese. Service took forever but the lady was very nice. Their refried beans are very good, though.

Worst food ever had. Maybe coming from Az but burrito was awful as were enchiladas. Dont waste your money.
I started eating at chacho`s in 1991 when chacho and his wife did everything he ran the front she was the only cook in the back i have to say the carne asada burritto just meat and salsa was addicting. Tonight i had one of my favorite burrittos of all time and was very very disappointed it was undercooked (the meat) the tortilla was burnt and i was used to the meat being cubed with fat removed cooked with a crispy coat on outside to seal the juices this was way undercooked and chewy yet took 20 min and it wasn`t even busy only two people in front of me. i have to say i will never be back worst burritto i have ever had and had bad case of the runs 11/2 hours later.
We have had much better. There refried bean had no flavor at all. Trust us , go some place else. It is not good!
—Every bite of my carne asada burrito had grissle and fat in it, it was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted! Wasn't even worth what I think was a homemade tortilla. Sorry I made the stop. Tried calling to let them know my disappointment but they don't answer. Their ingredients are skimpy and prices too high.👎👎
One star is actually generous. The food has no flavor, is drenched in old grease and is the poorest quality Mexican fare I have ever had in my life. I couldn't get fish tacos be cause they were out but the carnitas tasted of old fishy oil. The rice was over cooked and flavorless. A huge disappointment. There are better places not far away. Lesson learned.
I don't know what happened to the chili relleno but it was smaller than my taco and the portions on the rice and beans were so small I could take two bites and it was over
I’m not sure why there’s such good reviews I had a carnitas burrito the carnitas was very dry and the tortilla and rice were stiff. The tacos were deep fried which wasn’t very tasty it reminded me of Taco Bell. The customer service was not good either the worker had an attitude. For tacos and a burrito it came out to $20 I guess you get what you pay for.
