Really good food and price and service

Wow, what a spectacular find in Oceanside. We are vacationing here and this popped up on Google maps. After reading the reviews we had to try it, and it did not disappoint. They only have one size now, and my wife and I split a "The Works" cheese steak and a small order of Frings (fries and rings). Sub was piles of hot delicious steak, pepper, mushroom and cheese. Super hot, even when I was 3/4 done. Nice people and we met the owner and he was a great guy. Don't pass this place up!

Thanks to Christian and Tiffany, I had the best cheesesteak I’ve eaten in over a decade. New ownership is sometimes scary but this place has held up throughout the years and will continue to do so, especially with those two behind the counter. Dog friendly which helped on a cold day. Make sure you tell them Winston sent you when you go!

DO YOU LOVE A GOOD CHEESESTEAK? Well, I heard about The Cheesesteak Grill on Oceanside Blvd and figured I'd give them a try. Normally, I'm not really one for a lot of meat, so I don't typically go to places like this. This hidden gem is conveniently found just east of the 5 Hwy and still 6 minutes from the beach! I heard they were under new management, so I came to see what would change from this business that's been here at this location for over 13 years. After speaking to the owner & learning he is a chef with an already successful BBQ business, I was relieved to know this place is in good hands. The Cheesesteak Grill is known for: CHEESESTEAKS • BURGERS • FRIES But they also have delicious wings! This makes perfect sense coming from an owner who has perfected the art of sauce making! So I can't wait to see what else he has in store! So far, I've thoroughly enjoyed the pizza hoagie, the garlic bomb cheesesteak sandwich, the buffalo & lemon pepper chicken wings and the Philly fries with bacon. The portion sizes for their sandwiches are ginormous and overflowing with meat! They don't skimp at all! The flavors were legit as well & everything felt balanced to me. Their prices are on-par with the quality and convenience of the location to downtown & the beach, as well as, access to the 5 Hwy ramp. Parking is great with access to a huge shared lot. Only the interior is a little "plain" and simply, but this isn't really a deterrent, as the food makes up for it (just not a fancy date spot). If you're looking for a solid cheesesteak, I highly recommend The Cheesesteak Grill on Oceanside Blvd. Overall, I'll be coming back here to try more of their menu!

Being an east coast transplant this is the best cheesesteak place i have found in SoCal. Nothing fancy just a greasy spoon (but clean) type of place close to the beach. Just like back on the east coast. California's just don't know the comfort level of a good cheesesteak.

OMG 😱 came here on a recommendation from a friend that is from Philly. He referred to this establishment as the Mecca and as close to home as he’s going to get without being in Philly and he was not lying. The Philly cheesesteaks are AMAZING (I opted for the bowl and still drooled), the fries (sweet potato and seasoned) were PERFECTION. Now to mention the staff was absolutely amazing and welcoming, which was such a breath of fresh air. Worth the 30min drive and have found my new spot…HIGHLY recommend, you will not be disappointed 😀

Gotta say that it’s one of the best cheesesteaks that I have tried out here. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Prices a little high but I definitely enjoyed mine. In my opinion, their bread is what makes the cheesesteak one of the best ones out there. It’s soft, won’t scrape the top of your mouth and it adds to the flavorful experience. 🤤 Great for munchies. 😏

Very nice and welcoming. The inside may look a little rundown but its an OG spot that is just delicious! Here is the Garlic Bomb CheeseSteak. I believe that's what it was called at least. I forgot already. That doesn't matter though because I'm sure every other option is just as delicious! I got this one with added mayonnaise. Definitely recommend trying it out!

This place was the best for a cheesesteak 20yrs ago when it was Phillys Finest. Then it ran through a couple of owners and it was OK to not good at all. Now it is AMAZING, maybe even better than that. The lady who took over has it down. Best Philly cheesesteak in San Diego.

We swing in here everything we drive to San Diego. Try the sweet and spicy. You will not be disappointed. The kids love the traditional cheese steaks

This was mine and my wife's first time coming here and will NOT be the last. The lady that was here made the suggestion of white American cheese on my mushroom cheese steak, DELICIOUS! My wife got the cheese steak hoagie with chicken and loved it. The gentleman working the register was very nice and friendly. We will be back soon! Thank you guys!!

The garlic fries are in my opinion, some of the best I’ve ever had. Solid 4.1 out of 5. The regular fries are easily 4.4 out of 5. Lastly, the cheesesteak is a 4.1 out of 5. Overall, a great place for a cheesesteak!

Ordered for whole office - pizza, sandwiches - amazing! The works was especially delicious. Philly Cheesesteak fries were phenomenal. Onion rings on point! Everyone loved it!! The service was wonderful. It was a big order and executed with attention to detail. Highly recommend.

Saw these guys on Instagram and how they were introducing their new Smoked Tri-Tip French Dip and just HAD to come down and try it. Once you get a craving, it's best just to nip it in the bud. My mother and I came down on a weekend to try it. It was large enough for the both of us to just split it. We also ordered the Seasoned Fries and a soft-drink. Fries were great. The french dip was even better. The meat was soooo tender and the bread wasn't toasted so much that the roof of my mouth was tore up. Their bread was near-perfect. It took a little while to get our food...proof they make it to order, instead of having pre-cooked beef sitting in a fridge to warm up like some places do (I'm sure). Total for everything was around $28. Some suggestions: add ketchup bottles to the tables. It's a little painful squeezing multiple ketchup packets out onto the plate. Also, it got pretty busy when we were there and there seemed to be the need for more chairs/tables. Just a thought tho...

Tried a few cheesesteak locations in the area, and in my opinion, this is the place for a very good one. I prefer meat and cheese (provolone) only. French fries are special seasoned... many like this a lot, I am simple and prefer salted fries only. Onion rings are very good...and crunchy! If you are in the area of oceanside and have a hankering for cheesesteak.....stop by here and give it a go... Enjoy
