There are other Haitian restaurants that I like but this one is my favorite..it's very close to my house..Soup joumou is perfect,legume as well..gratinee is delicious..the lady owner is nice..I go there pretty often like 2 times a week...

Amazing food every time me and my wife go. I wish they were my neighbors 😄. Kalalou... Is not the same as this place. Kalalou is a nice restaurant, but over priced and over rated. New Taste Island Restaurant is spot on. Amazing customer service. The food is prepared carefully and it tastes like home cooked meals. Correction, home cooked Haitian meals. I never go wrong going to them for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Definitely considering myself a forever customer.

This place is it. It is located in the food court in The West Oaks Mall in Ocoee. I stopped to get legume for my girlfriend. When she opened it to try, all I heard from the kitchen was a subtle "Mmmmm". The food is excellent. The portions are great. I've been (big) back twice since...in a week. The gentleman in front is very courteous. Very meticulous. Very generous. Greeted every customer accordingly, because he knew them. If you are looking for good Haitian food, especially close to Lake County, this place is it.

My husband is from little Haiti in Miami and if the griot isn’t homemade or from Chef Creole... he doesn’t want it. But since moving to central Florida he has been fixated on trying to find a replacement. He found it here, HE LOVES the griot from here.

I ordered from that restaurant through Grubhub.com for the first time and I had very good experience. The original order was fried chicken, but a couple of minutes later, I received a phone call from the restaurant to let me know they don't have fried chicken, so I decided to get légumes. The food was nicely presented, and tasted good. The plastics silverware were wrapped in a manufacturer plastics. I'll definitely order from them again.

The food was so good I got the white rice and pigeon sauce and stew fish.i regretted not buying a side of sauce pois Congo it was so delicious. The soup joumou for me 😋😋each time I come I have to take 2 different meals.

This is the best tasting curry chicken I have had in Orlando many years and I have eaten at a lot of Jamaican/Haitian restaurants and this is inside of a mall so rich and savory. I almost thought it was West Indian curry. That’s how good it was.

Let's just start by saying that no Haitian restaurant should run out of pickly however my fried goat and black rice made up for it. It was great!! My goat was tender and full of flavor.

UPDATE: I recently returned for the same and was served a much smaller fish and charged 40$! Definitely NOT worth it for a mall food court!! I doubt I will ever return.

I’ve been having great experiences at this place until I met this “tonton makout” at the front today. Please don’t put that greedy man with zero customer skills serving people. He wanted to charge me $6 extra to put my “lalo” in a separate container. He yelled at me and threw my money back in front of other customers. I’m still shocked 😮

I looked up the reviews and I was really looking forward to try this place out. Upon placing my order the man informed me that the fried fish would take 15 mins to be ready. I said no problem. He said, "I will even take it out to you." 15 mins passed and I see him helping other customers and even those that he is familiar with. But he did not once address me. I am seeing plates come out and mine still had not come out. So I approached him and asked "how much longer?" He informs me that it will take 5 more minutes. I just stare at him and proceeds to inform me that it is a big fish. So I say, no problem. As I am waiting there he finally comes out with my fish and proceeds to charge me over $53 when the menu price states $30-$35. I informed him that your menu price does not even state this price so how are you charging me this much. "OH its a big fish" So why didnt you give me the fish on your menu price. "Oh you will have to wait again" When I say I am beyond disappointed at the lack of customer service from this establishment. First you took way longer than you originally stated and then you would rather throw this food out then sell it to a paying customer for the menu price? I will NEVER visit this establishment ever again!

Don’t get me wrong but if want to eat just vegetables I’ll be going to a vegetarian restaurant, I came here for a tasty meat with vegetables not the opposite.
