Opinions de The Depot Oneonta
Andrew was an OUTSTANDING server. Friendly, complement, and helpful. Ask for him! Food was great. Atmosphere great. And it was cozy and warm inside. Had the trainwreck burger—delicious! The person I dined with had pasta with clams (white sauce) and said it was great.
Always the best in the area. Food is delicious, large portions, fair prices. Beautiful historic building.
had a really good time...the employees are really great...I had my daughter there and yes she can get loud and likes to repeat herself...and are wiater he was so amazing with her...if she wanted to talk he listened and talked to her...the environment of the place is just amazing...❤️❤️
The food was wonderful and the service was great! My waitress was the sweetest girl, I knew her from the baby shop on Main Street, which she used to own, and she's just the best! My friend may have caused a bit of a scene, being drunk (as per usual). She was rude enough to get us kicked out of the restaurant (so embarrassing, especially since I knew the waitress) and I felt bad enough to tip the girl $20 or so. I hope you had a better night, and that you never have to encounter my friend again 😑🤦🙄
An amazing, family-oriented restaurant with delicious wings, a huge beer selection, and some of the best burgers, salads, and dinner specials in town! The owners are wonderful people, every server has a smile on their face and seems to love working there, and their hours exemplify family-style dining. Train Wreck burger, garbage wings, or the turkey salad are what you want. Unless it's Wednesday- then you want double garbage wings.
Will not disappoint!! Great staff and service. Awesome chef!!
Stopped on our way through Oneonta. The staff was extremely courteous. I had chicken wing flatbread and my friend had french dip. We were both very happy with our meals. The also have a nice selection of draft beer. We both had Ithaca Flower Power IPA which is a great IPA in our opinion. A nice restaurant. I will go back with my bride to try other menu items.
Best eggplant I've ever had and the employees are very nice too. They have a great selection of food, their wings, pretzels, and burgers are also amazing. Very clean and great environment, good for family dinners or even date night!
This place is unique and I absolutely recommend anyone in the area to check it out!! ALL of the staff is super attentive and kind. The drinks were GREAT…. The food was AMAZING! They have a “garbage” and “hot garbage” wing sauce that they make from scratch (and add to other things on the menu ((it’s soooo good)) 😁). The place is at an old train depot with original train memorabilia and such great history!!! CHECK IT OUT!!
Dined in on a busy night without a reservation. Tiffany was an awesome server. Food and service were both amazing in an awesome atmosphere.
Excellent food and service! They said it would be slow due to staff shortages, but service was great; friendly, efficient and attentive. Atmosphere was nice, too. Train themed and rustic with tables spaced well. Restaurant was full with several large groups, but it didn’t feel crowded.
Housed in a former train station, this unique dining venue, that boasts plenty of dark wood, has enough seating options for a 2 person dinner or a baseball team. This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the traverse for their food. Not only that, if you are looking for a historic taste of our area, than it is worth your time to try their historic pizza. Their sheet pizzas can be a little startling, as their sauce is ON TOP of the cheese, but this unique way of making it is part of the charm. Originally created in a pizza parlor on Broad Street, (which once was in the heart of downtown Oneonta, but was demolished in the 1960's as part of urban renewal) the recipe was sold to the owners and has been served exclusively at The Depot ever since. So, whether it is your thing or not, you can at least experience a local specialty. To get the full effect, I recommend the sausage pizza, which features a SHEET of sausage under the sauce. But if meat is not an option for you, try their garlic lover's pizza! The Depot is also home of the Garbage Wings (a sauce that combines all the other sauces they offer,) as well as many other fantastic selections of sauces to go on their wings. Personal recommendations: Their Sausage Pizza Appetizer: Home made Spinach dip and tortilla chips. Wings: Try the 18 wing option, which allows you to pick 3 of their sauces to try, so you can find your favorite. Also, be sure to get their house blue cheese sauce, which is super chunky and, in my opinion, is the bese blue cheese sauce in town.
Very busy and we didn't have a reservation and they were still able to seat us very quickly. Appetizers came out hot and delicious. Garbage wing dip was probably the best I've ever had when it comes to chicken wing dip. Order the special for my entree which was a 12oz Mushroom Stout Delmonico, cooked baby carrots, fries and a fresh house salad. Everything was amazing. Crisp salad, perfectly cooked carrots with not to much butter, and the fries were hot, crispy and flavorful. Our waitress was prompt, always had our drinks refilled, and was very friendly yesty professional. I would recommend The Depot to anyone. I'll definitely be going back.
Been twice and was great for us. Servers always fun and friendly. Shelby was great. Wings crispy with garbage sauce are really good. Burgers were perfect. Can't wait to go back.
I wish we didn't live 3 hours away from this place. Went to the depot on our last night in town. Previous reviews of this place were spot on. Our server was AMAZING she was so friendly with all of us and incredibly patient with my 5 year pass old moodiness. Please, please, please for the love of God try the garbage sauce... the best sauce I've had in years. It's an amazing blend of sweet and a little bit of heat. I destroyed my plate at dinner and someone's left over later lol. I regret not buying a bottle.
Busy place. Menu choices large. Too large? Our server, Chet, was darling. Serving sizes were ample. Spinach artichoke dip needs a tad larger bowl. Delicious. Chips made from wraps. Wonderful. We live an hour away so it will be tough to get back. Looking forward to trying Pizza. Only downside is you have to ask for spoons.
Was very nice, looks like it's in an old train station, very nice inside all wood. Cooper our waiter was so very nice and had such good suggestions, great service, good food, gpod prices Will be back for sure
I really enjoyed having dinner at this place. The food was great, the service was very good even though it was a busy day. The atmosphere was really nice as well. I really recommend it.
I love the atmosphere at The Depot bar and grill, as it has a warm, old country style of vibe to it. I would have given five stars across the board, but the cost of drinks is a bit high. I ordered two of their signature drinks, the depot mule, A classic twist on the Moscow mule by muddling mint leaves at the bottom of the cup, and the bill came to over $21. I think the authenticity of their serving style made it worthwhile though. I suggest this locale for large, important events, or for their Wing Wednesdays. Definitely reserve a spot if you wanna get in on that deal!
Stopped in for a quick lunch with my wife, wanted to try the garbage sauce as it was my first time. Very much enjoyed the sauce, it definitely is not for everyone though. We had a good time, good service, and the food was good as well. We'd recommend lunch, as it was very quiet, and we were helped in a timely manner!
It is a remodeled train station that sits next to a creek. There are pictures of the original train station. We ate lunch there. The service was very good and food was great. I had the taco salad. Nice crispy shell with all the goodies you would expect. My husband had a burger with mushrooms. It was 8 oz and he really liked it.
The Depot will always be my favorite restaurant in Oneonta! The servers, bartenders, and owners are always so friendly and inviting. If you’ve never been you have to try their garbage wings they are some of the best wings I have ever had! I live an hour away and will be coming back just to eat here willingly.
This was our first time here. The food was amazing. Our server was new and she did a great job. I would recommend this restaurant for the pizza and wings.
First time there, no reservations but sat comfortably at the bar, just the 2 of us. The bartender was great, the place was busy with all the baseball tourists but she handled it well, she may have also been the GM as she seemed to be in control. We had the wings with mangoe jalapeño, garlic parm and garbage sauce, all awesome! The Mediterranean flat bread was sooooo good. We had a few beers too. Good atmosphere, we will be back for sure!
I love the depot. This is always a great go to for date night or out with friends or family. Wing night is always a great deal, but busy. They do accept reservations. The food is delicious, I don't think I've ever had anything I didn't like from here. They have some of the best wings, boneless and bone-in! The staff are always friendly and working hard.
We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding in the back room at the depot and could not have been happier!!! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was top tier! They were very accomidating with our diet restrictions as well! The room is very large and the perfect space for privacy!!
This old train station turned into restaurant is a perfect place for a meal or to catch up with old friends. I highly recommend their wings, steamed clams, and grilled chicken salad.
Super great wings, dessert, service, and atmosphere :) Our server was working a party, had tables, and gave good service. I usually don’t care about the atmosphere but I was pleasantly surprised when the vibes were nice. Great place
Absolutely amazing food. And even better service! It’s quite refreshing to have such great service, our waitress was amazing. We ate here Thursday 3/10/22 about 4pm. We were a party of 3. The Garbage Wings were more than I had expected. The taste was beyond exceptional!! I purchased a bottle of sauce to take home. I had the pizza and I haven’t ever tasted such wonderful pizza in my life. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese. And the crust was light and chewy with a delicious taste. We were in the area for an off season visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame. There was a lot of snow the next day so the Depot was closed. But had you been open I would have eaten there all 3 nights. Keep up the good work! Thanks for all you do.
Treated our family as we celebrated our granddaughters graduation from Delhi. Friday 5/16/25, under the name Castiglia party of 8. First of all the food was amazing, from the appetizers to the main courses. We had a variety from steak to wraps to taco salad and each item was prepared as ordered and delicious! But the cherry on top was the service we received from the waitress. I so wish I could remember her name (I’m old). Efficient, friendly and just a lot of fun. A total package from the moment we were greeted at the door till we left. We will be back!
The service is mid and the pizza is truly... not great. But holy smokes, the wings are simply unmatched in flavor, size, and saucing. Excellent onion rings. Great salads. The mac-and-cheese is top-notch. But the wings are why you come. If you're not getting at least a half-dozen with your meal, you're doing The Depot wrong.
Cool old train Depot. Really cool atmosphere with view of the river. Food was very good. Also have gluten free options.
A true American experience! For us as outsiders, we really felt this was the kind of experience we had to.go.through The starters were special and verryyy good The staff was nice and welcoming We would definitely recommend!
Good all-American food in a cool old train depot. Easy parking. Great stop on a road trip but clearly popular with locals. Full bar.
We had a great time at The Depot for a team gathering after our final game at Cooperstown ASV. They were very accommodating when we had to change our time due to advancing to the semifinals. The staff, service, and food were excellent! We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again.
I was so impressed with their accommodation for our huge baseball team and family group. Their hospitality and kindness was the topping on the cake, because their food was amazing! Highly recommend!!!!
What a great Restaurant! Not the easiest to find, but if you have Google Maps, GPS, and can follow directions it Should not be a problem. It is not far from the Main Thoughofare and the Highway. It is located near, shopping and Lodging. If like me you appreciate Historical Buildings turned into restaurants, add in Super Wings this is a place for you. It has ample free parking including some Handicap accessible Vehicles Parking. Besides the Wing selection the menu is quite nice, something for everyone. I ordered the Train Wreck Burger and it was super. Their Beer selection is also well above par. They do flights which is what we did. Make time to look around at the photos and display items. In the area don't miss it!
No need to dress up, super casual with simple decor. We were genuinely impressed by the quality of the food! The best eggplant parmesan dish I have had. The garbage wing mac & cheese was a hit with my teen. We LOVED the spinach artichoke dip!
It's exactly as it should be with rally quality food. Service is always friendly. The train history preservation is a gem.
Excellent service with nicely prepared and delicious food. Our waiter was a joy. Made the entire experience even more pleasureable.
The Garbage Sauce is unique and delicious. If you like spicy then it's worth trying. I also had the Layered Sausage Pizza. Unique by my experience with pizza in how it's layered. Very tasty! The staff was efficient and friendly. We are only in this part of the country one weekend a year but this will likely be on our list for a return visit.
We had dinner at the bar with Tiffany taking care of us, it was incredible! The blue cheese wing special, linguine and clams, and then amazing dessert! Fantastic cocktails as well- all of it was incredible!
Great food. Friendly staff. Will definitely go back.
Love the atmosphere here it is so dark but cozy we ordered spinach and artichoke dip for our appetizer it was out of this world amazing and the wings were to die for especially the garlic parm and of course the garbage wings!!!
From start to finish, the BEST experience! Making our reservation, updating our reservation (two less people joining us), arriving at the restaurant, being greeted, ordering, eating...treated fantastic all around AND the food was delicious!!! Our waiter Aiden was top notch. Thank you!
"GARBAGE!!!" Garbage Wings, Garbage Grilled Cheese, Garbage Wrap, Garbage Chicken Mac & Cheese. Those are items on their menu ... not a negative description of their food. In fact ... anytime I go to The Depot I usually choose one of these selections. Garbage refers to the sauce they make, use, and sell. It is a DELICIOUS sauce and I highly recommend it. To go along with the amazing food ... they have an amazing staff that are very attentive, great personalities, and very knowledgeable of the food and drink they serve. 10/10 Recommend 😎
The food was great and the prices were excellent as well. We had the fried cod special with amazing asparagus.
Legitimately the BEST wings I have ever had in my entire life. Bursting with flavor. My family and I got takeout from here for the first time and overall 100/10. It was delicious. It must be even better to dine in. I got a patty melt which was also absolutely delicious. The patty itself was huge. But my favorite was definitely the wings. They are what dreams are made of for real. I’m not a wing person but I could live off these and be happy.
This place was excellent! An old train depot remade into a nice place to stop and eat as we were passing through town. We knew it was going to be good when we saw men wearing hi-vis leaving with smiles on their faces when we arrived. Inside we found a wonderful antique/industrial style decor as befitting Oneonta's rich history, hostess seating tables and a seat yourself bar. We were just after the lunch hour and the place was about a quarter full, we had no waiting for service. We got a couple burgers, which were VERY good. They did take a full 25 minutes to arrive after ordering though, however, the phone was ringing off the hook with to go orders the entire time we were there. This place is obviously quite popular. One note, the other person in my party ordered Captain & Coke and they don't carry Captain, they only carry Sailor Jerry for spiced rum and it wasn't their favorite thing ever. I didn't feel this was worth reducing a star over, as that's a higher shelf spiced rum anyway.
We had dinner to celebrate 2 birthdays in the family and had a fantastic time thanks to the wonderful staff and foods. Grew up in Oneonta but left many years ago. Glad to see one of my favorite places doing well.
Very good food, not far from the highway. Appears to be a joint where the locals hang, pretty busy for a Thursday lunch. Today they were suffering from the all too well known , "short staff" but our server Tiff was hauling butt trying to keep up and the cook kept on point. Their famous 'garbage sauce' was pretty good, a sweet hot sauce. I had the chicken Philly, plenty of cheese and peppers, and most importantly good bread. That put hubby off, his club sandwich on sour bread was untoasted making the sandwich a bit much. Did enjoy their tenders in garbage sauce....and the price was right. Would stop again
Ordered take out . Dinner done on time and packed appropriately . Costumer service both on the phone and inside the restaurant was beyond impressive ! I didn’t get to the garbage Mac & cheese with chicken For approximately 5 hrs after pickup .. Even cold, An incredible aroma hit my nose upon first opening this container ! Chicken Mac & Cheese ~> This is Christmas in your mouth (even cold) ! I can’t imagine how good it would have been hot ! Meatball parm sub was great ! I don’t fancy French fries but these fries tasted so good I ate them all ! Chicken Caesar wrap was good too. Reasonable prices & incredible staff . Definitely recommend this restaurant !
We loved the wings - honey BBQ Steak special was on point Burger was great Tomato/basil soup wasn’t good It’s affordable Service was a bit slow . It took around 45 minutes or so to get our wings app bc of a mix up so they gave us one complimentary dessert which tasted good Nice local spot for burgers and wings
You can have a better experience with better ambiance and more relaxed family friendly experience here compared to most restaurants that serve the same cuisine yet aren't just catering to their own greed whereas sloans does let alone the food is cooked better than Sloans. it is fresher more accurately made the first time. Your drinks are watered down you can feel comfortable to carry on family activities and not have to worry about racial slander. The portions of adequate enough to share or at least have leftovers yet not overpriced good quality products.
Excellent food. The hoses was a bit concerned that we four did not have reservations however we were happily served at the bar. They still have the original recipe from 1950 for their deep dish pizza pie! The other menu items were impressive and delicious!
Nice little place that can get quite busy especially on wing night, so a reservation is something that you may want to do especially if you are in a decent size party. This was our 1st visit here and we will be back. We had the deluxe pizza and 12 mild wings the pizza is good, and the wings are outstanding they have a very good flavor to them and were all cooked very well. The service is very good and they are helpful, we also had the fried cheese which was very good.
The pizza is old fashion what most people would call pizza bread. Tasty and different. Burgers are always good. Nice staff.
This was a great place to eat and the food was delicious. I would rate it 5 stars except for the fact that the bartender was completely inept and absent from her position! The only times we saw her were when our waitress had to go out back and get her to come back to the bar. I ordered a beer and then waited... and waited... and waited. That happened twice. We wanted to play the Keno lotto game, but once again had to wait for the waitress to go out back and get her so we could pay for the games. We finished eating and wanted cash out our winnings from the Keno game and had to once again wait for the waitress to go out back and get the bartender to come back to the bar. Now, here is the kicker! She cashed our winnings and tried to short change us. I had to point out the discrepancy to have her give us our correct winnings, which she did with an attitude. All of this happened with only one other dining party and two people sitting at the bar, so the place was nowhere near to being busy. Again, if The Depot actually had a different bartender, then I would've gladly given 5 stars.
We stopped on our travels to The Depot Restaurant and Tavern . It had good reviews and the menu had a nice selection of items. The staff was knowledgeable, accommodating and efficient. It was a bit chilly and we were sat in front of the A/C. When we realized how cool it was, the staff kindly offered to move us . The lighting was a bit dark but the restaurant is a converted train station and was decorated with that theme. Ample seating as well, with bar seating and loads of tables. We both chose A garlic and Herb chicken wrap very similar one had BBQ sauce and the other had an original garbage sauce. Which was supposed to have some heat to it that builds the more you have of it. I didn't taste a whole lot of heat, but the wrap was still good. Food came out very quickly . Overall a good lunch,if we are in the area again we would stop back by.
Excellent service and food. Interior could use some updating. I don't usually like wings with with sweet sauces, but the garbage wings are excellent.
Every time I eat here it's always a very good meal. Great service and the owner is very pleasant 👍
Food was very good and service was fantastic. I do feel the portions were small for the price. Otherwise great place!
This place was recommended to us by a couple of families so we decided to stop by to check it out. It was an old Depot to a train station (hence the name) tucked away from the main town. You can tell this is where the locals come. If you're looking for a fancy place looks elsewhere, this place is no frills. However what they lack in decor they make up in food. Most of our dishes were quiet good, with the exception of the salad which had a very chewy chicken to it. Fried calamari was excellent probably because it was extra fried (same with the fries). I had a wrap and the kids had grilled cheese and chicken tenders. Again the only knock was the weird tasting chicken on the salad but other than that a solid choice.
Beware of their bartender, who almost made it a horrible experience. She had the time to seat the couple before me, promptly served their drinks, took their order, and checked with everyone else. She even had the time to greet a large group of locals and cracked a few jokes here and there. But never for a second did she even acknowledge my presence there, nor did she check on me once. I find this willingness to only serve a select group of people (or lack thereof) amazing. Another server helped me out. The wings are good.
Apps at the Depot are amazing! I absolutely love their spin dip and of course their garbage wings. The place is also very clean. I was just underwhelmed by the atmosphere at the bar. The bartender was not very socialable. She also was no where to be found when my friend and I wanted to order more drinks. Food is great. Bar is seriously lacking.
The food was good. The staff was very attentive. The wings are not buffalo style. They are very tasty. Strange thing though. We ordered potato skins and we were told they didn't have any. It seems very bizarre (unless they're buying them prepared) that they wouldn't have real potatoes to make the potato skins. Overall okay meal. We'll try another restaurant before returning. Thanks.
Good food. Garbage wings are a must try. Service tonight was so, so. But we went late. We'll be back. Nice spot. Better than the local chains.
Went for lunch and love the fact that this was a train station. Very popular place and the staff are very attentive. Wife had the Cesar salad with grilled chicken and liked it. Greens looked fresh. The boy had the soup and the garbage wrap and liked it. I had the Rueben of course and would not recommend it as way too much butter was on the bread and just wasn’t good. I ordered the sweet potato tots and they should have been fried another minute and would have been nice and crispy. Of course on my way out I see they are know for burgers. I would try again and get a burger. Service was great. My biggest complaint was that they really need to clean the cobwebs. Cleanliness is important.
The server was friendly & had great recommendations but we didn’t see them for long periods of time which resulted in no refills, waiting to order, waiting to cash out, etc. Food overall was good! Would reorder the chicken parm and the crossing burger. The mango habanero wings didn’t have a lot of heat to them & were more comparable to an orange chicken. The portions were a great size for the price. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the converted train & dim lighting.
1st time here. Called for reservations for 2ppl (Sat nt) & asked for 530pm, which they were very hesitant to give & asked if we could do 515pm instead - no problem! Busy parking lot, so get there early. Inside was minimally decorated & seating looked like they were still in Covid mode - very distant from others & not a lot of tables. We got seated on time on their indoor porch. We knew what we wanted to order when the server arrived. Ordered 2 beers, some apps (their garbage wings, which we heard they're famous for & spinach-artichoke dip). Entrees were 10oz strip steak, sweet potato fries (side of honey) & chicken riggies, both came w/ a small salad. We waited approx 20 mins before we ASKED our server to have the apps come out whenever they were ready. (thought maybe it was going to come out w/the entrees as it was a long time to wait). He proceeded to bring our salads & rolls about 10 mins later. Then, another 10+ mins & the apps came. Their wings were AMAZING - A MUST TRY! They were sweet & tangy with the slightest bit of heat. The wing sauce was so tasty that we were dipping our rolls in it. This is their saving grace. The spinach-artichoke dip was disappointing. The portion size for $11 was much too small. The dip was very cream cheese forward, no artichoke to be found & 2-3 spinach leaves (yes, leaves, not chopped up or anything, just thrown in & mixed together). I liked it better than my spouse, but it was still just meh. Definitely have had better. Almost tasted like a crab rangoon filling, minus the crab. The crispy cracker/tortillas that came w/ it were good, though. Dinner FINALLY came around 630pm!! The steak was average, well cooked but not super flavorful. Sweet potato fries & veggie portion were practically non-existent. Side honey was missing. We asked for it & by the time the server came back w/ it, my spouse was already done w/the meal. The riggies had pounded down chicken pieces that probably totalled 3/4 of a 1/2 a chicken breast & included sautéed green peppers, which were not part of the menu ingredients (cooked peppers=yuck..imo). So by the time dinner arrived, I wasn't hungry anymore & asked for a to go box. We passed on dessert b/c it probably would've been after 8pm before we finished! The server was even slow w/the to go box & check. We put our card down to pay & waited & waited...finally ask the manager walking by if she could run it, she did, we paid $94 + tip & then our server showed up to collect our payment. We told him we already paid, and he apologized for the delay (he knew he'd messed up) & we left. I would never go back here for dinner. Horrible service. I WOULD, however, sit at the bar & have their garbage wings anytime!
Mediocre at best. I went here for dinner during an overnight stay in Oneonta, because of the high ratings. Mistake. The salad was mediocre, with fairly tasteless house-made dressing. The chicken wings were dry, tough, and totally tasteless (I asked for the "hot" sauce, but it was fairly bland). The drink was weak and very disappointing overall. This goes on my "Avoid" list.
We use to go to the Depot, mostly as a family night out for great wings, good food and good service at a reasonable. A bit after covid, we were craving some depot garbage wings so we did the the only option at that time, takeout. The price has tripled but they gave us a coupon stamp with one star punched out for buying 3 dozen takeout triple price wings! 2 years later we go back. I make reservations for our family of 4. The wait, and the wait, and the wait... was not that wait-worthty. Drink orders and menu orders we're maybe 10 minutes. But then 30 another 30 minutes to get our food... and the food? We're the famous depot wings still as good as they were? Nevermind! Dry, hardly any sauce, fair size but not like the old, pre-covid days. After consulting with my family, we jointly rate our experience as a level 3, compared to the pre-covid Depot, 10. We won't be back!
Very small potions. Super hot and stuffy. Waiter didn't know the beer menu. Would not go there again.
Update - 12/3/22 Called to place an order for pickup, put on hold for "a quick second ", over 10 minutes later they finally checked back to see what I wanted to order I thanked them for finally getting back yo me but declined to order......restaurants are competing for our $ and The Depot needs to do better, start by not keeping someone on hold for over 10 minutes when they want to spend $ at your business. Great atmosphere!!! Had prime rib and some garbage wings for an appetizer.....food was very good and believe it or not, the beer was even better 👍 Our server, Tiffany, was fantastic!!!
The food was good. However, our servers service was frankly terrible. We waited 45 minutes for our food and not once in the meantime did she come and check on us. Multiple items were forgotten. I am not exaggerating when I say she also slammed our drink cups onto the table. Very disappointing:(
I'm a dasher, on Tuesday May, 13. I went there to pick up an order, when the bar tender came back with it I always ended it with I'm confirming the order out loud so they will know and I will show them. But before I could finish she said yeah then you will shut it off. Implying that I was a thief stealing the food. I didn't say a word and left to finish my delivery. I'm not sure why she would just say that cause I never stole food before but maybe they had that issue before. But it doesn't excuse her behavior. Plus just going in there felt off all I saw was eyeballs looking at me the entire time. Will never dash there again.
I wrote a review of this great restaurant a few months ago and I do not know why it's not listed in the reviews. This place is awesome! The food is incredible and we've never had to wait too long for our delicious meals. Our our server today is fantastic but the last one was even above that he was like a mind reader. He knew what you wanted before. You could even ask him if you needed a fork or a extra napkins or another drink. He was right there every single time like he could read your mind. How can you beat that for service?. Update: on 12/31 we ordered a large veggie pizza and a artichoke spinach dip. The Dip was good, the pizza was not. They play the hidden game of putting a thin layer of mozzarella cheese under the sauce. You will have a hard time finding any cheese. There was an abundance of sauce, but it was very, very bland. They sprinkle a little bit of Parmesan cheese on top to try to help it but it doesn't work. I wouldn't recommend the pizza. We only bought these items as take out because weren't able to dine in.
Took my family to dinner start the school year off social for my grandson. They were not very busy but we had to wait 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. Even tho a waiter was walking by us several times ignoring us. They were out of three beverages we asked for and we were there for almost 2 hours for two kids meals and 3 adults. No appetizers or dessert. The waiter who did help us was very apologetic but when I spoke to the manager she just whined about being short staffed and she was training two new people. The food was cold. The assortment limited and the managers attitude stunk. I will spend my $100 elsewhere from now on.
It seems like cost-savings measures are in places as the quality of food and service has declined rapidly. The last 2 visits are the only time I've had issues out of the 15+ visits. Simple food requests go ignored, so if you have a food allergy then avoid this place. It's so disappointing to see a great restaurant fall so far. Old Review from Nov '23: Amazing food and great service. Their garbage sauce is the best!
My family and I went out to dinner here. There were 4 of us, and we made a reservation for 7:30. We arrived at 7, and were immediately seated. We were pleasantly surprised. We ordered our meals and an appetizer. We waited around 30 minutes. And no appetizer and no salads came out that came with our meal. Finally, our waiter came around with the loaded potato skins. We waited another hour for our meals to come out and we had to remind the waiter our meals came with salads. I asked for another beer and it tasted off? Almost like a chemical taste. I decided to not drink the rest of my drink. Overall, the food was great. No complaints there. Perhaps there’s a lack of servers and they’re stretched too thin? We saw other tables looking around for their food / waiter.
Our friends and I have been visiting every year and we had always have a great time at this restaurant...until this year. We have never been treated so badly at a restaurant it feels as if they do not need or care for business from out of town. The waitress was actually great but it was the total lack of management that is going to bring this once reputable establishment into ruins. We discovered there are restaurants that offer much better food and service with locations much closer to the town center. Don't waste your time or money at this place.
Good beer selection. Nice atmosphere. My wife ordered the $16 Chicken Pasta and she hated it. Hunks of boiled chicken with tons of garlic. First time I've ever seen her send her food back. They still made us pay for it. I ordered the XXX hot wings and they were mild at best. Asked the waitress why they weren't hot and she came back with some hot sauce, which wasn't hot either and charged me extra. Won't go back.
I remember going to the Depot when I was a college student in Oneonta 9 years ago. Back then it was great food. When I visited my favorite college town this past weekend we went back. I couldn’t have been more disappointed in my meal. My husband’s vegetables were clearly frozen and microwaved. He ordered sweet potato fries and receives a small handful of sweet potato tater tots which looked like they have been sitting in the bottom of the freezer for years. His steak was over cooked. I had the Mac and cheese and it wasn’t good. I was hoping for the kind of mac and cheese where it’s baked in the oven and crispy on top, but what I got was noodles with melted cheese on a plate. Needless to say we will not be returning anytime soon.
Tried to take my son out for his birthday dinner. They were still open for over an hour. Refused to seat us even though there were available tables because we would be "behind a large table, so they stopped seating" The large table was already seated and had already ordered. The hostess wouldn't even offer us a seat at the bar, which wasn't full. With limited options in the area on a Tuesday night, one would think that such an establishment would care about the local customers too. Poor service, brushed off. Couldn't try the food or drink because we were never offered any, Atmosphere was split, noisy in the upper room and cozy dining in the lower seating. But call before you go so you don't waste your trip like we did.
Waiteress at the bar wouldn't wait a second to listen to what I have to say and walks off every time.
The staff took forever to take our order. There was a 15 to 20 minute wait to get seated. Then 20 to 30 minutes to get drink order. And then another 20 minutes to get drinks. Then another 30 minutes to get our food. The food for one of the people in our group was forgotten to be put in. Then wasn't going to tell us until we asked why he didnt have his food yet and it was simple grilled cheese.
Food was good. Atmosphere was sub par. Service was absolutely horrendous. Ticket time 1 hour and 10 and that’s only bc we pressed for answers. They tried to make excuses but that didn’t work on someone who has worked in restaurants! Once they knew we were pissed it was a different story but too little too late. Absolutely horrible service and quite honestly they should be ashamed of themselves.
